"For $39, Culver City’s craft beer izakaya joint will immediately build a beer, shochu, or sake flight. Pair it with your choice of gyoza, karaage fried chicken, miso-glazed pork belly on skewers, and Impossible meat fried rice during dineLA week. The dining area is downright pleasant, and a great spot to finish the meal with mochi brownies." - Mona Holmes

Honestly disappointed by this experience, after being genuinely excited to have a new izakaya in the neighborhood. From the lackluster welcome at the door, the long waits for service, the impatience from staff to talk about what sakes and beers that were on offer, and the quality of the food, this visit lacked any of the charms I have come to expect from an izakaya visit, in Japan or LA. This would not merit less than three stars if the prices were friendly, which they weren’t. They were busy when we visited, so maybe they’re still working out the kinks in the system. I hope they do figure it out, because Baird Beer is great and Culver could use an “at home” kind of izakaya.

My husband and I love this place! We both love Japanese cuisine, so this was at the top of our list for new places to try. Neither of us are beer drinkers, but we got a flight of beers to try anyway. We enjoyed the Saison Sayuri and Yuzu Ale the most! We got an order of the gyoza, which was delicious, and an oni roll for the sushi, which was incredible too. We also ordered a teriyaki chicken pizza, which I suspect they forgot to put in, because we were asked if we wanted any other food when we were done with the sushi. But we weren't in a hurry and didn't mind waiting for the pizza, which was out of this world, stupid good. We finished off with a mochi brownie sundae, another great choice. It was the perfect amount of food, and we only ended up having a few slices of pizza left over to take home. Our server was incredible friendly and helped us pick out our beer flights and she even made me a custom soju drink, which was amazing. I appreciated how nice and quiet it was inside, and that we weren't seated near anyone else. Definitely worth a visit! I would for sure go again.

Just strolled in here on an early Wednesday afternoon. Wasn't busy at all, for obvious reasons. Been here once before, and I enjoyed it then as much as I do now. Luckily I stumbled upon it during "Dine LA" week. Got the $25 Three course meal, with the Miso Soup, Spicy Tuna on crispy rice, Umami Fire Chicken Sandwich, and the Mochi Brownies. All of these items were exceptional! Can't forget the brew, as well, which is specifically from Baird Beer. Being the craft beer geek that I am, I'm particular about what I drink, and while it's not the best I've had, I do appreciate the wide variety of craft brews they have. All in all, a great spot to check out if your roaming the streets of Culver City. Consider this a recommendation.🍻

The Sushi and Sashimi is ALWAYS VERY FRESH😊😋 If you are a beer connnoisseur or just like beer, and want a clean, casual, friendly place to go eat and drink with your friends and family, I definitely recommend this place. I've been 4 times in the past few months, alone, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. They also have handcrafted Sake and there's only one like it in America. The other establishments are located in Japan. The intrigue alone is worth exploring.

Cute little Japanese taproom. Food was generally ok, albeit on the expensive side considering the portions. Greatest attraction of this place is all the different sake options they offer.

This is an amazing spot for japanese food and beer. Excellent sushi, big pieces, and reasonable prices. Try the yellowtail and albacore you won't be disappointed. Good selection of japanese beers you won't find anywhere else. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Reopened for Corona and it's setup well with plenty of space. Try the mushrooms too!

Fun place, small brewery with lively ambiance and big menu- loved the sake flight options, good carpaccio and sushi rolls, wasn’t really expecting to spend $100 on a light dinner for two but glad we checked it out.
