I crashed a colleague's party here last night. At first when I googled the place I saw the dnainfo.com page saying it had closed, and suspected my colleague of being a hater and giving a fake location. (I don't get out much.) But this place does in fact exist.
The crowd was fun, diverse in most ways but definitely mostly 20somethings, which I am...not. However, the bartenders were very friendly, no one gave me any dirty looks on the crowded dance floor, and I got mildly sexually harassed by two well-dressed, inebriated gentlemen while trying to close out my tab. So, the experience was as good as could be expected.
The music was great, and the vibe was pretty chill. I couldn't hear a word anyone said to me the entire night. Lots of people were dancing (either on the dance floor, or bopping in their seats if they were with a non-dancing group of friends or not drunk enough yet). The decor was cool, and they had a f*ckton of different kinds of beer. I hear this was good beer, but I am not the person to ask about beer.
This place has earned my 5 stars because it is a great place to dance. However, it's also a good place to just hang out, if you don't mind shouting in your friends' ears. I will be back, just probably not with the rest of my GenX friends.
