I recently had the pleasure of being cared for by Lorelys, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional from the moment I arrived. She made sure I felt safe and well-informed every step of the way, and she treated every patient around her with genuine compassion. Harbor-UCLA is lucky to have someone like her on the team — her dedication and bedside manner truly stand out.

Wait times are actually ridiculous. Staff just gossips while ur waiting and u can overhear them laughing over patients wait times. Been here over 7-8 hours in ER. It is not ER they do not treat it like any emergency just wasting ur time. Lobby is full of homeless ppl sleeping on seats u can’t even sit down calmly without one of them bothering you. they need to fix this… disappointing don’t even care how sleep deprived u are to drive back home just make fun of it.

They took care of me and my mom. Every single nurse, orthopedic, surgeon, and patient there checked on me. I am thankful that they made it so easy on me. ❤️‍🩹🕊️ they rock! 🪽🙂‍↔️ there will be bad reviews but they don’t deserve any of these negative comments. They are true class heroes, trained and everything. This hospital is good at giving you the help you need. Okay But I do have to say : I was sent home with a Velcro cast on and they didn’t give me any instructions for it 🚩this was very unsettling I was told to make an appointment with an orthopedic doctor and I couldn’t find one fast enough and my appointment is 5 weeks and a half later, that happened to be to late, problems arose quickly and I know the hospital failed to let me know that if I didn’t find a orthopedic available to go back to the hospital. This made me think terrible about the team I was being taken care by.

I had a very disappointing experience at the emergency room. I spent over 10 hours waiting to be seen by a doctor despite experiencing significant pain in my leg. During this time, I was placed in a room with two other patients, and my personal health information was openly discussed in front of them, which I found to be a serious breach of privacy. Additionally, the medical staff asked me to remove my shirt in front of everyone, which felt embarrassing and unprofessional. Furthermore, I was asked to receive a vaccine under these uncomfortable and unsanitary conditions. To make matters worse, I noticed blood in the chair I was sitting in, which raised concerns about cleanliness and hygiene in the facility. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I hope the hospital will address these issues to improve patient care and privacy.

Google
They treat you like subhuman.the attending Physicians are all extremely old. When you want to see a specialty doctor first you have to see a resident who is not even in that specialty clinic, and is just doing the rounds. There are pages of patient history notes and you walk in and they ask you why are you here. It is so sad that just because we are low income we are treated less than a animal would be at a veterinarian clinic. Zero respect, 0 empathy. And all with our tax dollars. They have one patient advocate for over 100,000 patients 1:100,000. This should be criminal.

Quality of care sucks. We never see nurses come check on my mother-in-law. Her room was dirty the entire time since she got admitted. Housekeeper was cleaning the empty bedside since the other patient was discharged. I asked if she could please clean my loved ones' side. Which she did. We were very thankful for her to help us out. According to the staff (nurses/housekeeping), they must have an order for the rooms to be cleaned on a daily basis. I would have figured it's a hospital with a lot of sickness and germs. Why in the world must you need an order for clean up!!! Nurses don't even try to help patients to eat without an order as well. Nursing staff didn't even try giving the patient the food on her table. When I got there, I overheard the nurses yell "no just take the food!, she's not even going to eat!!!" That pissed me off!!!🤯🤬🤬🤬 *No compassion - No Humanity - No Care* To the workers there, it's just a job, not a career. Shame on them.

Google
From the moment I walked in, the ER was filthy. The floors were sticky, trash was overflowing, and the waiting area looked completely neglected. The bathrooms were unsanitary and appeared as though they hadn’t been cleaned in days. In a medical facility especially in an emergency roomthis level of dirt and disorganization is dangerous, unacceptable, and puts every patient at risk!

Google
When asked how many ppl are currently in front of me she told me “ other people have been here for 20+ hrs I only been here for 2” as if I asked for attitude? I asked a simple question and still have not been seen by anyone I asked a male nurse what can I do since I feel like I’m Bleeding in the inside he said “ go to another ER” worst experience I’ve had worse than Gardena memorial

Yelp
My husband was rear-ended by an 18 WHEELED SEMI TRUCK this afternoon and was taken by ambulance here to their emergency room... AND APPARENTLY this is the VERY BEST trauma center in the entire Southbay... he suffered head and body injuries... I am only sharing this very personal experience to let people know what a marvelous and hardworking group of people work here!!! What a team of individuals... The doctors were amazing but the people I am referring to are their support staff! They performed above and beyond with such kindness that I want to thank them all... ALEX, MELISSA, KYLE AND THE BEAUTIFUL GREY-HAIRED NURSE WHOSE NAME ESCAPES ME IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM; you all deserve to be mentioned in my review because you all were so wonderful at your jobs and helped my husband exponentially... oh, and you all laughed at my humor. When the going gets rough, I get funny. Thank you ... this New Yawk woman will love you and remember you forever. I left my dear partner in the hands of such amazing people on that day into evening... Next day, he was transferred to an upstairs ward and allegedly, he was going to be released in a timely manner. Well, it took a lot longer...;( However, the wonderful and brilliant Nurse Practitioner Deborah and the incredible staff of nurses and support people were amazing and so kind ...Deborah helped us get all the documents we needed and her lovely demeanor made a difficult situation easier to navigate! So appreciated! NURSES are the heart and soul of this hospital and all hospitals IMHO, and my experience with them made it possible to get through this trauma ... I am still reeling from what happened. The road ahead is daunting, but we CAN DO HARD THINGS. My husband will slowly heal and I will be navigating all the moving parts that have to be meticulously documented. PATIENCE is key. I am forever grateful!

Yelp
How is it that people in healthcare, that are literally hired to help HEAL people, are so rude and hostile. If you are paid to help the public for health needs, you need to be trained better with communication. It's absolutely understandable to feel overworked in this career that you have chosen, that's not the problem. The problem is that you forgot how to be human and have empathy to people who are genuinely in need of medical attention. Management: re-evaluate your staff especially those in Urgent care check in.

Paris B.

Yelp
My partner and I arrived at the hospital around 6 PM, and now, at 3 AM, we're still waiting with no sign of leaving. After a lengthy wait, she finally received an X-ray at 10 PM, but we didn't get the results until 1 AM, only to learn she has a fractured thumb. Despite the doctor's assurance that they'd wrap her up, no one has done so yet. To make matters worse, they asked for a urine sample at 2 AM, which felt completely unnecessary given the situation. It's infuriating to see staff engaged in trivial tasks while urgent care remains neglected. The wait for important updates like test results is excessive, especially when there are so many staff members at the desk seemingly doing nothing. The constant rotation of nurses during shifts results in confusion, as the new staff are often unaware of what procedures have already been completed. I also witnessed another patient struggling all night without proper help, while the staff kept triggering alarms for issues that seemed minor. The receptionist has been unhelpful and inefficient, calling for people who aren't even in the lobby. Overall, this hospital's organization and professionalism are severely lacking. It feels like they're more focused on managing the line of people than providing timely care. Patients are left in pain with little regard for their needs. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hospital. The security guard in the picture appears quite unapproachable and is not helpful at all. It is now @6:14 am and now waiting for CT results .... At this hospital for over 12 hours now It is now 10:00am and still here. To only find out they didn't need to put a splint on..... Only positive things about This Hospital is Nurse Alexa P! She was a great !

Yelp
It only takes the blink of an eye. Next thing we knew we're on our way to the ER. Something as simple as crossing the street of a cul de sac should be just that simple but there's a reason there's all these kid warnings. Their height isn't in any line of sight. Anyway, let's fast forward to the visit. A brief stint in the crowded room filled with bright lights, nurses and doctors was subdued by icee pops and a quieter, less intimidating trauma room. Definitely, NOT tryna come back again. Just comforted by the fact that the nurses were really nice. The kid can go back to playing with his cousins.

Noreena C.

Yelp
This free hospital is the worst. I have a ppo and get treated like crap. One person didn't know what the other person is doing. I will never er my insurance or my.kids experience use this shifty hospital. All of the workers are rude I would not give a start but there wasn't that option

Blk F.

Yelp
Feel sorry for anyone that has to go here for care and really sorry if they passed..The non compassion shown by the young Hispanic lady ER Social Worker with glasses was absolutely heartless. Hopefully ICE is showing her and her family the kind of care she shown us during our bereavement.

Yelp
Giving my review as a volunteer here. Every member that works here including security guards really want to serve the community and understand the high need of the south bay . Sometimes people are tired and are a bit burned out, but at their core every one wants to serve the most vulnerable in our community. I especially love the volunteer team . It's my new little family. Volunteer members encourage each other and it really does feel like a positive warm environment. I look forward to my volunteer shifts as it gives me the chance to make a small positive impact in someway and the community that I grew up . Today was my first day, and I literally had a doctor, thank me for volunteering, which was wild and unexpected . It surely was more of an honor just to be able to help out. This week was also patient access week which meant there was a fair to help educate every staff member about the services patients can access to help minimize barriers to healthcare . Super smart idea. Sure the facilities aren't glamorous ( but they are working on that expect the new hospital to be complete by 2026 ) but again the most important thing is that the people that work here truly do care .

Chino G.

Yelp
They are slow but REALLY GOOD CARE they will figure out what's going on with you!!! They are a trauma care ER center

Adrian G.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would. The medical staff is unbelievably rude to those in need and waiting. My wife was seen by Dr. Hollywood who was so rude to her and dismissed the concerns my wife had. I am so angered by this doctor and it's maddening when people are looking for places like a hospital for help and you're met with more problems and terrible quality. Could these doctors learn to listen to their patients and not dismiss others? They think they know everything and are so entitled. My wife is still sick and now we are stuck with some insane bill and barely got any help. She is still feeling sick and now we have even more stress with this bill we didn't need from this doctor who was of no help. I wish we went anywhere but here.

Yelp
Care quality in the Telemetry Unit is sub par at best. Rude "sitters", CNAs and have not encountered a "good" nurse. One sitter handed me a pillow case and barked orders for me to put it on the pillow. Zero professionalism, zero communication and overall worst experience at this hospital in the past two stays. I asked a question about my brother's vitals and was told they don't know. It's a shame, really as there is no choice but this ER for my developmentally disabled brother due to proximity to his group home. There was a group of children with two adults that were laughing, shouting and running up and down the corridor outside my brother's 4-bed room and I had to mention how disrespectful and inappropriate this behavior was to three people before anything was addressed. Supplies were low such that a physician reached for gloves and boxes were empty. The PT and OT were both professional, for which I am grateful. Visitor and patient parking lot is filled with security staff as well as hospital staff. I watched several walking to their vehicles multiple days. This is sad, as there are limited spots and there is signage stating the lot is for patients / visitors. There is a shuttle for the parking structure, but be prepared to take a tour of the grounds--it is faster to walk. Today there were three vehicles with a group of maybe 7-10 people congregating, drinking beer, smoking pot (with a child in the vehicle) and being rowdy. How is this acceptable? My question to staff and administrators: Does this sound like a setting you'd find acceptable and conducive towards recovery for yourselves or your loved ones?

Yelp
Amazing staff! Courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. It's a well oiled machine, but I never felt like a number there. I could see nurses physically sweating as they worked diligently to accommodate patients. I had the pleasure of meeting nurses David, Maggie, and K C. along with the entire staff and although I felt horrible they gave me that spark of sunshine filled compassion that got me through my experience.

Yelp
If I had the option, I would give this place with its incompetent staff a sub-zero rating. Their service is the worst and their customer service is even worse while their service fees are sky high. For a a simple hernia post surgery phone call by just a nurse which was less than a minute phone call, they charged me $4,000. This is ridiculous and a rip off. I'm attaching the bill so you all see how a shitty place this hospital is.

Yelp
A few months ago, my 5 year old granddaughter was taken to emergency due to very high fever as a result of a virus. What could've been a very scary visit for her (having to be poked with needles for blood tests and the IV drip she needed), turned out to be a very positive experience. The nurses who cared for her (all of them) and both Doctors who saw her were FANTASTIC! They were caring and patient and had the best dispositions working with pediatric patients. They all took time with her explaining what they were doing or were about to do in sweet and calm voices with smiles to comfort my grandbaby. One nurse even showed her the equipment for the IV first and let her put the parts together to illustrate how simple it was going to be. They all answered our questions and asked if we had any other questions (which we did) and all of the medical staff made my granddaughter, her parents and myself very comfortable with and confident in their care. I'm sorry for anyone who posted a negative experience but ours was a seamless and great one.

Yelp
People, I know you're not going to be happy for rating them higher on the reviews. I have seen them. Well I got lucky this time went on 05/11/24 around 8:00p.m. It wasn't too busy. I went to emergency room because my foot was hurting to much. I felt on my body 2 days before and didn't think about heading to the hospital at all. Until it got really swollen my leg and foot. I told my Mom take me to the emergency room it was getting rough painful. We went didn't take long for me to get in it wasn't busy at that time. Told the doctors that it was hurting that when I tried stepping on my right foot it was painful. They did X-Rays and found out that my fibula was fractured from the ankle. First time that, I break a bone. So they gave me 3 shots to feel less pain while they straighten my fibula and did a good job thank you! Now I might not need surgery because of the great job they did! that's what they told me at the Orthopedic surgery specialist! Thank you to the doctors!

Yelp
The care is okay. My grandfather is in the hospital and now has cancer they would have caught long time ago but they have horrible nurses and doctors now I'm taking him to providence and that's how I know because this hospital did not tell us. The office experience is horrible and slow. Do not recommend EVER!

Helen P.

Yelp
Horrible hospital horrible horrible horrible they use money on other useless stuff like see through offices. So dumb. People go for help and don't get any help except "take Tylenol" "eat healthy" horrible care quality.

Yelp
After taking my brother to two other hospitals, we have been so blessed for Harbor-UCLA. Everyone has been great and very caring with him. From the minute we stepped into ER to him being discharged. Thank you Doctors and Staff, God bless you all!

Colleen M.

Yelp
DO NOT go to this hospital if you can help it. They say the number 1 in trauma surgery, but it has been the worst experience of my whole life. My husband had trauma orthopedic surgery. Had to wait two days to get in. He was in a room with five other sick patients. He could hardly ever get a nurse. They were understaffed and overcrowded. The hospital's old and dirty. He was moved to another area with psych patients and feared for his safety. The discharge has been a nightmare as well. They said they would put in a referral for home healthcare and for urology. Come to find out that never came to fruition. Also, they barely gave him any pain meds. I'm guessing due to their clientele they have to be extra careful. We used them very sparingly, but when I called for more, I get the runaround. Not even the nurses can get a hold of the doctor. They put in $1 billion renovation to this hospital for the Olympics and the Olympians and I feel like that's all they care about. The patients have no rights as of now and are not taking care of adequately. It's an embarrassment to LA into the health community.
google avatar

Angel M.

Yelp
Worse hospital ever I waited 10 hours with major stomach pain just for them to not assist you. Do not come if you need real help because you will be sat down in the waiting room for you to literally die
google avatar

Cynthia G.

Yelp
Definitely! Not your typical private care that you are in & out. Yes, they may take time BUT they CARE!!!! Because they are an educational institution; it wonderful that there are many "brains" working on your case. Have patience & you will see the difference.

Stephanie P.

Yelp
Zero stars! No vengan a este hospital van a estar más de 12 horas esperando aver un doctor I don't understand why they take forever to get us checked by a doctor. I ask the RN's & all they say is "I'm sorry but at least now you're assign to a doctor@

Lisa D.

Yelp
Too bad theres no option for Zero stars..this whole institution is terrible. They used to be the premier option for patient care and now they treat people worse than cattle. Their current ER is so terrible i cant even describe it..waiting for many hrs for no reason. Staff is very passive. Every now and then you might run into a decent nurse but most look like they dont want to be there. The quality of the doctors is just terrible. If u luck out and find a decent one, he/she is completely overwhelmed. I have no words at how terrible the conditions are.
google avatar

Joanna U.

Yelp
I just hate the fact that we need to wait for long long hours but it's a really good hospital. Sometimes I see that there's people I really need help and they just don't get helped. We also need to start speaking up because if we don't speak up we won't be heard. It's very important to address everything to nurses and doctors be clear specify everything that's going on with the patient, it's a great hospital. My mom been here forever in and out. I was born here, but yes, it takes hours for you to see a doctor there there is a lot of staff that it's very rude And it's not in the mood even nurses.

K J.

Yelp
The surgen was great. If you ask to be transformed to a different hospital and the doctor says you must find a doctor to sign off they are telling you only your primary doctor can do that. Call your primary right away. My father in law was given several house doctors that it made our head spind. We asked them to contact his primary doctor to coordinate his care but they never did. He was also never given a hospital social worker until we insisted upon it once we learned he should have received one. Also they . gave him an air mattress that had a defective chamber. Ten days he laid on it with promises of a good bed. The nurses spent more time looking at yahoo news than checking on their patients. And they left him in a dirty diaper for over an hour until the doctor came in and he complained. He was told he should get up and walk to the bathroom for exercise but wh e n he tried the nurse said no. And he was forced back into bed. I don't recommend this place for any length of stay.

Michael A.

Yelp
Emergency room is extremely slow, average visit is always around 12 hours of waiting, makes you wanna die of your illness just to get out of there.
google avatar

Paul O.

Yelp
Yeah I gotta say this place sucks. Be prepared to wait a really long time. There isn't enough chairs to go around and you gotta wait a really long time to be seen. Honestly unless your shot or having a heart attack go somewhere else. Oh and there's always a bunch of homeless people in the lobby. I guess the only good thing here is the vending machines.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent cusotmer service skills by RN Miguel Garcia while visiting my little cousin yesterday. God Bless You RN Miguel Garcia, Really appreciated the support you gave to my little cousin and to my family while my cosuin was in the ER department Ricky K Benjamin

Josephine M.

Yelp
It was my first pregnancy and it was the worst/most traumatic experience of my life . Female doctors are the worst they dismiss your pain and treat it like it's nothing, one even said I needed a "psych evaluation" because "she believed" my contractions weren't real? Only a few male doctors took my pain serious and I wish I remembered their names, those few doctors made me feel heard and understood. I would not recommend this place to give birth. It would absolutely ruin your experience. Even if it's a far drive there I promise you the drive is worth it, I wish i did. Yorba Linda was highly recommended to me, I wish I would have went there instead. The one is only for the few male doctors. This was July-September of 2023 I highly doubt it has changed.
google avatar

Esteban C.

Yelp
The string smells awful. Where is all that smell coming from? Is it coming from the hospital or from the sewer or where but the whole street stinks!!! This is nuts... It stinks like crap... Really bad

Julia C.

Yelp
I called to make an appointment with my primary care provider. I spoke to an agent. His name is Jamel. He was extremely rude and dismissive. I tried being patient and polite back. He kept on giving me attitude. I did not understand what I did wrong. It's not the right way to treat a patient.
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
I'll just go straight to the point about the ER GOOD: Plenty of parking, security on duty, vending machine in the lobby and nurses reassess your vitals BAD: Waiting for 12 HOURS in the lobby room and then wait another 3 1/2 HOURS after you are called in for your room to see the doctor. Restrooms are not periodically cleaned, Nurses ignore you unless you become assertive, nurses on their phones at their nursing station instead of checking up or updating patients, doctors abruptly stop talking to you midway to answer phone calls so you have to wait AGAIN, Nurses give off attitudes and rushes you to leave the room after you are trying to recover from what the doctor has performed on you (I was still having discomfort pain and asked for an extra 10 minutes to let myself lay down) No outlets to charge your electronics considering that we have to stay at the lobby for the WHOLE day, and not enough seats in both the lobby and the wait room inside where they call you in. While waiting in my room to be seen by a doctor, I asked two nurses, "when will my doctor come see me? I have waited all day and I am getting cold, hungry and tired" the first nurse told me to wait for her return with a reply but she NEVER came back. The second nurse bluntly told me, "you know this is the worst hospital emergency to be admitted in, right?" I was stunned to hear a nurse say that. I understand that EVERY emergency will take HOURS to entertain you but this emergency was by far the worst I have admitted myself in; I should have gone to my local emergency instead. This hospital needs better funding and perhaps gives their employees better pay because their attitude tells me that they are hating their job which is affecting their patients.

Khrystale O.

Yelp
That old lady in the neurology room is super rude in the 8E RM12 building... she told my mom and me she couldn't come and that there was no space and there was a extra chair while scanning my brain in the room and that she couldn't come in unless I wanted or needed her too then at the end she tried telling me only if I wanted her to come in obviously I wanted her there me and my mom both were she wanted to see what was going on with me!!!

Yelp
This ER is the worst ! 13 hour wait I came Monday was waiting from 6pm - 1am and I still didn't see a doctor. I left. I came back Tuesday 12:30pm thinking that the wait would be less. The nurse told me they were still trying to treat patients from last night. They took my vitals sent me back to the waiting room. I went to my car took a 2 hour nap came back still didn't call me. I then went to Ralph's and took my groceries home and came back (2.5 hours) I came back and they still hadn't called me. I was then told there were 3 people ahead of me and I would be called soon ... an hour went by and I finally got called. I am now in the back sitting in a chair for about (1.5 hours) still haven't saw a doctor. She asked me for a pee test AGAIN. It is now 7:17 and I still have not saw a doctor . They do not care . Horrible ! Horrible horrible ! They need a better system.
google avatar

Scout C.

Yelp
Yeah don't come here that 15 hour wait is no joke. Everybody I spoke with was also pretty unhelpful and rude.

Brai W.

Yelp
Wait time are ridiculously long and no order or organization with staff. Waited over 6 hrs just to get an x-ray of my foot. Never will come here again
google avatar

Mariah M.

Yelp
Honestly just the worst place I've ever been to in my life, I just wish I didn't have to go here because the way they treat people here is honestly so disgusting and disrespectful. JOHN CASTOR AND JOLENE Neguen, were so rude to me during my time in the ER, I seriously thought the man( John castor) was going to put his hands on me I just hate that as people of color we experience these things from other minorities. These people thought I was so incompetent, they had no remorse when being rude to me because this is something that happens quite often and even after complaining to upper management there was nothing done, was a tiring experience, she asked me who gave her my email as if this is not her job to handle complaints. The way the run this hospital is so sad and I just wish more people cared about the way they are acting towards individuals at the hospital. The care they have for people at this hospital is so poor, this dr. And nurse or student did not experience any repercussions because they DO NOT CARE! I can't stress this enough this hospital needs more attention to client care! I will be reporting this hospital because what I went through I do not want anyone else to experience this!
google avatar

Milan J.

Yelp
I have only been to the ER at Harbor UCLA. I like that the doctors explained the test and radiology results thoroughly. However, the wait time is extremely terrible. You might have to wait five or six hours before being seen. If you need additional tests other than what they give when you first check in, be prepared for more hours of waiting.

Desslyn B.

Yelp
Do NOT come here if you're really sick! I spent 8 hours in the ER and never saw a single doctor. All I got was some Tylenol for the pain, and they took my blood and urine. The nurses were incredibly rude, and I ended up leaving without seeing a doctor. I have Kaiser, but I came here because it's so close and I was in so much pain I couldn't make it to my Kaiser facility in time. I'll never come back! While I was in the restroom, I saw dead cockroaches on the floor. Honestly, if I were on my deathbed, I'd rather stay at home than come back to this place. This hospital needs to revamp their emergency room system ASAP! Kaiser would never tolerate this nonsense!

Artemus R.

Yelp
my wife was taken by ambulance at 12:00 noon on 6/24/2025 at 7:00 pm she still hadn't been seen nor had she eaten or drank anything! i asked a security guard why and all he said was "i'm sorry "! so i took her to torrance memorial at 7:15pm and she was home in 2 1/2 hours or so. all it was, was a u.t.i.! thank you torrance, and shame on yo harbour ucla med center!

Jay S.

Yelp
The security is so nasty & rude they don't greet you while walking in & look at you like a criminal while putting your things through the X-ray machine they are under construction & they have the emergency room set up like a jail they are violating hippa guidelines I seen multiple patients vitals through the clear window where is the privacy while being in the triage areas & also heard multiple patients government names! Along with them violating your HIPPA rights my grandmother was brought by ambulance we sat in the emergency waiting area for 8 hours waiting on her to be transported no one came to disinfected or clean up the waiting room.

Yelp
Terrible service, 16 hour wait time in the ER, staff at the emergency patient information aren't of any help. Waiting area is unhygienic, words cannot describe how terrible this place is. Care and clean quality does not exist in this hospital. 16 HOUR WAITING TIME AND STILL HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN BY A DR just RN's

Yelp
I fucking hate everything about this place. Poor people get the shittiest Healthcare services. Let's start with the parking. There is none. You have to get there an hour earlier before your appointment just to find a spot. Avoid this facility at all costs.

Yelp
If I could give a 0 star I would What a nightmare this entire event has been at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. My uncle was taken there to by ambulance. He wanted to be taken to Santa Monica UCLA hospital but they would only take him to the closest one which was Harbor-UCLA hospital. He was there for over 2 days in the ER waiting for a hospital bed. He had high blood sugar and after finally getting a hospital bed, then then released him with high blood sugar. Luckily he want to see his primary doctor who told him to get someone to drive him over to Santa Monica UCLA hospital. We waited for one day in ER to get a hospital bed and finally got a hospital bed. Then finally the doctors did what the doctors at Harbor-UCLA couldn't do which was to lower his blood sugar!

Yelp
Where do i begin? I was referred by my primary doctor to come to the er for an emergency mri. I've had this before at other hospitals. They requested to do blood work and their reason was to see if I had infection. Hmm, ok. 5 hours later they tell me that they don't do emergency mri here at this location and that my doctor should have never referred me there. I was provided paperwork and all. I blew a fit. I can sit for long and to sit for so long and now to be in even more pain, just for them to tell me they don't do it. A different nurse told me that they should have told me from the jump but that they legally can't??? It's called communication. Anyway. Golden rule treat others how you want to be treated. Then they request meds, had me wait in a room with three people. I hear someone call my name, I get to the hallway and all I see is nurses moving around and no one makes eye contact with me. So I shout who called saul . Then a nurse turned around. Don't nurses go and get the patient. So sad but looks like this is what you get with a county hospital. I never experienced something like this ever. Ever. Very sad when you're looking to get help and the energy there is no one cares. Won't see me again

Yelp
Due to an unforeseen emergency & geographical situation my grand daughter had to be taken to this hospital to await being transferred to her primary CHOC of Orange Hospital. Of course we've heard of the terrible reputation this hospital has but we were able to experience it first hand. The Shitty attitudes by the night shift pediatric nurses was horrible. Just sitting around their work stations never once coming in to check on our grand daughter who happens to only be 8months old. When asked about simple house keeping request they just seemed bothered. We literally checked into the hospital at 3:00pm and it's now 2:30am and still no transport ambulance or staff have been dispatched. Was given a 6:00am transport eta! My grand daughter was finally taken to CHOC only after learning we had reached out to her surgeon and informed her that no test were done and no doctor had even spoken with us. Horrible experience with this pediatric unit. This is the price of being an active duty military member stationed in fucked LA County.

Yelp
I used to dread coming through here back in the day. Don't get me wrong - I don't mind going through the whole joke of a parking lot and dealing with substandard security and it's overall dreadful appearance to see loved ones admitted or seen here. Back then I just felt like you've got to be desperate to be treated here. Fast forward a lotta years later, AN IMPROVEMENT! Getting in and out of the parking lot is with such ease now, the signs are so easy to follow, it's generally clean and staff was friendly (well... they've always been.) The waiting area bathroom had a ton of clutter, though, but I blame that on guests, not so much the staff. Otherwise, the appearance inside and out is now with a welcoming upgrade. Getting to the rooms is with such ease as well. Plenty of elevators for however plenty of visitors or patients needing to get in and out. Huh. Who knew a county hospital can (almost) look as good as private ones. Here's hoping they're able to maintain it for a long time.

Yelp
Rudest front security with power trip ! You don't have to treat anyone like that especially when you going to visit a loved one

Yelp
This hospital reminds me of the one they closed down in paramount because people were dying for not being attended right. CEO president whoever the higher ups of this hospital should pay more attn why build more if patients are not being seeing till 10 hours later that's unbelievable. Terrible staff employees give u attitude help me understand that if u don't like ur job u in the wrong field. People are suppose to go to the hospital and be treated fair and on time. So if you trying to die slowly come check in oh and they don't clean. Ghetto at its finest! And I only gave it one star because I have too
