"Come For: An extremely sweet cocktail in a collectible glass, and rock memorabilia. Compared to some of the other spots in Times Square, the Hard Rock Cafe has a pretty serious selling point: If you’re a music history nerd, there’s some cool memorabilia, like Paul McCartney’s bass, one of Bob Dylan’s leather jackets, and a shrine to CBGB, which is ironic, because this is one of the more corporate feeling restaurants in the area, complete with Top 40 music in the dining room. You’ll walk in through the gift shop, and order off a drink menu where you can get anything in a collectible glass for just a few dollars more. The burgers and nachos are not impressive, but their commitment to merchandising is." - bryan kim, willa moore, neha talreja, will hartman, ciera velarde

Right off Times Square - just take the stairs down - It was a bit a mayhem waiting in line to put a reservation in, but we found a table to sit at to wait. Took about 30 minutes to get seated. The restaurant is massive. Melanie was our server and she was very nice and helpful. I had the BBQ BC Burger, my wife had the Messi Chicken Sandwich, my son had the Big Cheese Burger and my daughter had the Kid Chicken Tenders. Everything was very good and we were happy with our meal. Melanie our server did an excellent job and was very attentive, giving us accurate ticket times. For a tourist trap we were impressed.

Google
Great enjoyable experience, staff were wonderful. As a New Yorker myself, I brought my foreign friends from China for the first time and they had a blast . Food was great. Definitely the type of American cuisine + a bit fast food feels. Service was fantastic. Thank you Amber for the evening. Shout out to her and her colleagues.

Google
This place is fantastic, however, please be prepared to queue or book in advance as its extremely popular. Food was delicious and Chris, our server was amazing. Super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Memorabilia inside is really cool too.

Google
We booked for Thanksgiving dinner, not wanting to struggle to find a table. It was really busy, but we were seated prior to our reservation time. They had a Thanksgiving menu along with the normal menu. It was a little expensive for what we got. The food was beautiful and traditional as we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia. we appreciated the meal. We shared the pumpkin pie, and it was good. Haven't tried this before. The pastry was perfect, and the filling smooth and overly sweet

Came to NYC to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Stopped at the famous Hard Rock Cafe where our waitress Eva went above and beyond. She was fantastic, friendly, attentive and courteous. Exceptional customer service is difficult to find these days, but you can rest assured you will find it at Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square.

Google
We visited the Hard Rock Café at Times Square, and it was an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious – we had a juicy burger with crispy fries and a huge portion of nachos with fresh guacamole dip. Everything was perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. What impressed us the most was the fast and friendly service – despite the place being packed, we didn’t have to wait long. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a Hard Rock Café – great music, a lively vibe, and lots of cool music memorabilia. If you’re in New York and craving great food in a legendary setting, this is the place to go!

Google
We were lucky enough to get a reservation for a large group and were very excited to visit! There was cool guitar and music themed decor everywhere. The restaurant is on the lower level from the street entrance. There is ample seating everywhere and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We ordered a wide assortment of dishes including the nachos, Bangkok shrimp, the margherita flatbread, and burgers. The food was very good and cooked to our preference. Pricing was actually not too bad considering the portion sizes and the touristy location of the area. We even got to visit the balcony which was a great experience, overlooking Times Square from a unique perspective. Thank you to our waiter Timmy who did an amazing job of taking care of everything for us! We greatly appreciate it!

Google
Awesome place; but they are so used To have many visitors that they don’t bother to please the clients. I had a bad experience with the manager REX; I made my reservation to enjoy the time at the restaurant; we had a good meal but When I was starting to drink my last beer; The manager called us to leave the table As they had another reservation; come on; we were finishing and I was not the entire night at the table; not more than 1.5hours (maybe less; I’m being conservative here). Note: the bill was more than $250 dollars. In resume; they have so many tourists at the restaurant that they don’t care to treat You well. The place is amazing; but I will never return due to the bad service; I don’t wanna be in a place they don’t care for the client.

Yelp
Tried to make a reservation but all was full, so we tried to walk in and put ourselves on the waitlist- and the time was much less than we were quoted! We went to report to the hostess station when we were called and there wasn't much direction of where to go, so we got in the long line up to the hostess station. We were sat quickly once we got through the line desk. Once sat, our server walked by our table like 3-4 times before he actually said hello and took our drink order. Once we finally had his attention, he was great! He went above and beyond for us! Everything we ordered was really good! The southwest chicken bowl was huge, but tasty! I couldn't finish it (and not because I didn't want to)! Loud music, but no bands or anything g special during dinner. Kinda wish there was more to the experience, especially on a Saturday night dinner time seating.

Yelp
Have you ever been to a Hard Rock Cafe? Did you like it? If yes then you'll probably like this one, too. We had no intention of going here, but as we were walking past it we popped in to get a pin for my collection. Jeremy has also recently started his own collection because he was so envious of mine. It's a large gift shop with a small selection of pins. I got one that said "happy birthday" which was fitting because we were in NYC to celebrate a friend's upcoming 27th birthday. Jeremy got one of a skeleton with a pink, purple and blue Mohawk holding a guitar. We weren't there long, but the staff was friendly and chatty and welcoming.

Yelp
The Hard Rock Cafe in Time Square is much larger than you would expect from the outside and you can typically get seated relatively quickly. We came here for a dinner while visiting New York as we try to go to each one in a city we are visiting. The food was good overall, and the menu has a good amount of choices ranging from burgers, bbq items and salads. We started with an onion ring tower and the they were really good, the batter is the crispy bread crumb type, not a beer batter. We also shared a plate of nachos which are very good and is a large serving. I got the steak Cobb salad which was ok, I would have like a bit more tastier salad dressing but overall it was good. My son got the Diablo burger which he said was ok but not the greatest and did not have enough spiciness as the description made it out to be. The service was ok, not the fastest but met expectations. The restaurant is super loud with music (which is expected) but don't expect to have a great conversation without speaking loudly to others. Not necessarily a place I would run to go back to but also wouldn't turn it down either.

Yelp
My husband & I stopped by for breakfast. The restaurant was clean & inviting. We had the chicken & waffles. They were really delicious and filling . Our server Justin was very attentive, pleasant & upbeat. He brought us our food in a timely manner & checked on us frequently which was greatly appreciated. He made sure that our experience was a great one. I truly believe that good servers are a reflection of good management. I requested to speak to a manager to give kudos to Justin. Jason greeted us at our table & we found him to be equally as kind and professional as Justin. Thank you Justin & Jason for making our visit a memorable one! We would highly recommend Hard Rock.

Yelp
Food - we din't order much but what all we ordered was good, surprisingly the flatbread was really yummy and the burger was quite filling with the fries. Service - bit slow maybe because it was sunday and the place was packed. Ambiance - if you want some nice music and sound of people chattering around you will like it .. Overall nice good place ..!!

Yelp
The place has so Much flare it's Awesome!!! My wife started with espresso martini. Then she ordered the Grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I ordered the boneless chicken wings buffalo style. This is a Military friendly location!!!

Yelp
Just two ashkenazi Jews sitting here and can't get service Couldn't be acknowledged by anyone

Janice K.

Yelp
Great variety of clothing and souvenirs. We didn't eat here but we bought a few shirt. I've been collecting Hard Rock shirts for almost 30 years. They had multiple shirts that were specific to NYC. It's right at Time Square. Check it out.

David X.

Yelp
I've always walked right by this place assuming it's a tourist trap given the gift shop at the entry, the location, and the other cities I've seen this chain in. But I finally figured I'd never eat here while vacation so I might as well give it a try here at home -- and I was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant itself is actually downstairs and huge by NYC standards, almost making me forget I was right by Times Square. The walls are decorated with memorabilia and music plays in the background -- not quiet, but enough so that you can have a conversation without struggling. The only downside to this underground location is the lack of cell signal. There were signs posted saying Wi-Fi was available, but I didn't find a password anywhere (probably just need to ask, I didn't bother). Maybe that's a plus for you if you want to keep the phones away from the table haha. As for the menu, there are a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and other standard items you would expect. I had the surf and turf burger so I could give their supposedly-famous burgers and shrimp both a try. The result was delicious. The shrimp are nice and crispy, although a tad too sweet in my opinion. The burger was cooked nicely and tasted great -- not lifechanging but yummy enough. The fries on the side were also surprisingly good, being above average in texture and taste. Overall I came in with low expectations and had them greatly exceeded. Would I come here again? Probably not given all the other food to try in NYC -- but I wouldn't object if a visiting friend picked it out.

Yelp
Absolutely no complaints from this restaurant. Was delicious & clean. The service was great, we went later too so it wasn't too crowded!

Joseph D.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I ordered a burger, fries, and the hot fudge brownie. The customer service was amazing! We got our food quickly. The vibe of the place was great! They have Beyoncé's outfit, Elton John's outfit, Mickey Jones' drum set, and more.

Marian S.

Yelp
I'll be going twice this week if that tells you anything. The BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger is fantastic, and the battered fries (or "seasoned fries" as they call them) are out of this world. Don't you dare get those fries without the legendary sauce AND the dijonnaise on the side! I really enjoyed the ambience too, which I wasn't expecting. But the music was so much fun (duh, it's the Hard Rock Cafe), I found that I was enjoying tapping my toes and singing to myself about as much as I was enjoying my food. Ok seriously, though, get your butt down there and get a burger.

Lennea B.

Yelp
Over priced. I could eaten at a hot dog cart. Food was just basic. Service was just ok. The place itself gets 5 stars for ambiance and decor .... But that's it not worth eating nor drinking there. I'm normally not this harsh reviewing but I was underwhelmed... the menu had a lot of pages with nothing on them. I ordered fajitas everything came out looking and smelling good but they just didn't hit I've had better at chilis lol My niece loves the food liked her sliders but not her drink ...which the waitress never brought back the replacement ... My daughter liked the firecracker shrimp .

Delilah F.

Yelp
Overall, this restaurant was excellent for our party of 60. The food was delicious and served promptly. The staff and ambiance were fantastic, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Stanley M.

Yelp
Fun environment & you never know who you'll espy... typical hotel restaurant fare. My sister loved her salmon, tho my Wedge salad was meh. Pro tip, when adding protein avoid the "grilled" shrimp. Sent mine back!

Anthony A.

Yelp
Pretty good. I mean a basic Hard Rock Cafe. But the wait staff was good and attentive. Kept drinks full. Environment was good and not overwhelming. Food was hot and good

Amy P.

Yelp
We stopped by here for early dinner. As soon as you enter, you see bunch of souvenir items and rock and roll decor. The hostess sat us right away and walked us through tons of memorabilia of music history. We decided to order two of the 2 course holiday meal. We ordered the salad and baby back ribs which I shared with my daughter. The other was the steak and caramel apple cheesecake. Everything was good with big portions. The service was slow and almost nonexistent but we had mostly what we needed so not really a big deal.

Cam L.

Yelp
Hard Rock Cafe is known for the amazing decorations like the tons of guitars. The Hard Rock Cafe is a cool buffet with options for meat eaters and non meat eaters, like me. But beware if you have braces the French Toast is a little hard. And because it's a buffet you are the service and can get your own food so you don't have to worry if the chefs gets your order wrong.

Abdul S.

Yelp
Super cool spot to grab a bite and drinks when you need a break from Times Square. We have visited another Hard Rock Cafe location in the past for a viewing party and they both provided great service. The ambiance is lively and upbeat with a decent menu to order from. Our server, Tiana, made our visit an enjoyable one. Extremely personable throughout our visit while providing insight on cool spots to visit while in town.

Beini P.

Yelp
Burger was fine, could've given a bit more fries. You pay for the location and the experience of eating at an iconic restaurant in the heart of NYC. Would probably not go again but for what it was, not bad. They don't ask how you would like your burger cooked by the way!

Glennis T.

Yelp
Ambience, is on point from souvenir store to downstairs restaurant. Lots of memorabilia! I ordered the Messi chicken sandwich, however, my sandwich was flat hard & dry. The tomatoes & spinach or kale on it was actually better than the dry fried chicken. I haven't been here in awhile, and was in the area & was like let me have lunch here. Again, disappointed. After, eating that dry sandwich I remembered why I haven't been there in awhile. I was hungry so I got through it. I hate to force myself to eat something. Another table ordered Ribs & I wished I ordered that instead. Oh well! Another bad choice. If u eat here it's a great experience w/ ambience & all the guitars & Rock & Roll Legends displayed. Enjoy!

Susanne M.

Yelp
Love the Hard Rock vibe, party always going on & fun. The NYC is the best Hard Rock I have been too. It was a bit loud but the drinks were very good! Rose mule was a favorite & Purple Haze was great if you like gin. We had chicken sandwiches, one Buffalo style. Fresh buns, a little light on the ranch but great flavors. Fries were almost barely warm, but double-dipped style that's always crunchy. Our server was great, friendly & attentive enough to keep us happy.

Sheena T.

Yelp
I am convinced this Cafe is called "Hard Rock" because their steaks have the texture of being hard as a rock. I recently came here for an NYC Tourism event, and have to say I was really disappointed with the food. The steak was definitely over-done and extremely difficult to cut - hence "hard as a rock," the chicken was very bland (lacking seasoning and flavor), and the dessert assortment was coated and pumped full of sugar, enough to put me into a sugar shock or diabetes. The only real edible part of my plate was mashed potatoes. Even the bread was stale and hard to tear apart. Hard Rock Cafe, I think I'll pass. I didn't eat much, and the food I did eat just ruined my hunger and appetite for the rest of the day...

Michael Y.

Yelp
Good experience overall. Food was good, service was good (but slow at times) and the ambiance was typical of any other Hard Rock Cafe. We had a 4:45pm reservation on the Tuesday before Christmas before a broadway show. We were late arriving because of the crazy foot traffic in Times Square. There was a long line just to check in but we bypassed that line because we had a reservation and were seated right away (about 5pm). We waited a few minutes for our server to greet us. By the time she took our drink order we knew what we wanted to eat which worked out because we were going to be running short on time to get to our show when the doors open at 6:30. We ordered glasses of wine, a grilled chicken sandwich, Mac and cheese, flatbread pizza, and fajitas. The waitress told us to expect a delay for the drinks as there was only one bartender tonight. We feared the worst as the place was packed. Hundreds of people served by just one bartender. It took maybe 15-20 minutes to get our drinks. We probably would have gotten two rounds had it not been for slow drinks, but it didn't distract too much from our experience. The food came just minutes after our drinks. The flat bread pizza was not the right one, but the right one came out maybe 5 minutes later. Our waitress was friendly and did a decent job checking in on us. The only distraction was at one point she told us our drinks should be out in "2 minutes", but it probably took another 10 after she said that. No big deal. The food was all pretty good. It's not a 5-star luxury restaurant. Food was typical for a Hard Rock Cafe, but cooked better than average. My chicken sandwich was flavorful and moist. The flatbread pizza was also tasty. My daughter ate all her Mac and cheese which us line a small Christmas miracle and my wife's fajitas were on point as well. Overall pleasant experience. I typically just visit a Hard Rock Cafe once per city and choose to experience other restaurants instead of returning as a "regular", but if you're in NYC and can't miss the Hard Rock Cafe you can't go wrong.

John K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and fantastic place so it was very good to spend time here I will try to take more menus and I am sure it is very good

Vicki M.

Yelp
Great to check out this Hard Rock cafe after being super touristy and taking a hundred pics and selfies at Times Square. Sunday evening Times Square was hopping, but we're able to get a table for 4 immediately. Our server Kiante was great and very friendly, and paid attention to detail with our orders when we requested 4 waters and one without ice. We ordered a couple drinks - purple haze and the strawberry basil lemonade, and a couple appetizers to share - classic nachos and southwestern chicken flatbread. Nachos were really great super tasty and flatbread was okay. Of course the ambience, music and memorabilia are the highlights and those were enjoyed by all. Overall nice experience in a cool place with good food and great service!

Helena C.

Yelp
Service was terrible and definitely not recommended. The service was extremely slow and the waiter took forever to take our order, and when he did, he seemed very confused. When I saw my waiter have plates and I recognized my order I asked him if that was mine and he looked at me as if I had 2 heads and responded back with "I don't know". I asked for a refill of my drink and he took at least 10 minutes just to get a refill of the soda. Definitely not worth the hype and just a waste of money.

Michael S.

Yelp
It's not easy finding a place that is beyond terrible with food in NYC but this Hard Rock location takes the win. The food was horrid. Ordered multiple different items and not a single dish was edible. For starters, the prices are unreasonable for the type of food. Nachos were not good. Cheese seemed old and sour and everything was just thrown together in a mess. Wings were very bad. Not cleaned and cooked right. We needed up not even eating 2. Burger was dry and buns were cold. Lettuce was brown and old. Salad was terrible. No dressing, old lettuce. Fries were burnt. Even the soda was flat. We ended up paying and leaving not finishing or coming near to finishing a single dish. Very disappointing and a waste.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
The ambiance is fun--they have a delorean in the lobby! The bartender Stacy was super friendly. But y'all, the food was subpar at best. I had chicken sliders and it was just not yummy. So I'd go for fun atmosphere or maybe a drink or two but eat elsewhere.

Alana L.

Yelp
Yummy food and quick service but there is no reason for the music to be deafening. it's a shame that restaurants don't understand that music doesn't need to be blasting to be heard.

Melinda P.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean and very comfortable. The servers were nice and friendly. Now the food was over cooked. My burger was dry and my husband onions rings was sooo hard they turned into dust...lol Anyway they remade them for him and still was no better. I suggest stay away from onions rings. I didn't want to send my burger back just dealt with it.

Randy B.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and the female bartender by the name of Scary was incredibly awful. She was awful at making drinks and would only let us order one shot at a time. She then said last call was at 10:30. All of this was understandable and respectable until we came the next day. The bartender this night would let us order multiple shots at a time and was not rude about last call nor mentioned anything about a last call.

Evan Y.

Yelp
The restaurant was very entertaining. Initially, I was only looking for a drink at the bar. The server went above and beyond to provide great service. However, when I asked for my check, he seemed to force to engage in more conversation for tips, mentioning that he'd seen me here before. Then, surprisingly, his attitude changed when I requested more water after I had paid.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
What can you say about this iconic place? Awesome Rock n roll memorabilia. Service is super friendly. I had the Messi burger w egg n fries. The best burger I ever had! Seriously! So juicy, so meaty, so big, couldn't fit all in my mouth! Almost better than sex. Ask for tons of napkins. After our meal, we walked around to browse the various articles. My favorite is Prince's shoes. Hard to find bc the young folks working at the place didn't know who Prince was!!! Talk about generational gap! But finally I found the shoes. Goosebumps bc soon " when the doves cry" started to play in the loud speaker n video screens. Not many place gives me such joy as this place!

Sarai G.

Yelp
Food was okay.. server Melanie refused to leave the table without getting additional tip. I was very disappointed and complained to the manager and on top of everything else I was trying to complete the survey and it was already completed.

Chunjai K.

Yelp
These 4 stars is for the store only. I went back to the cafe couple days later because my cousins wanted to buy t-shirts. I found everything pricy here, but I understand all stuff are for tourist. As a souvenir you pay the brand. The staff was nice friendly and helpful. Even they couldn't speak the customer language, they are happy to find the way to communicate.

Sabrina G.

Yelp
I've been here several times because I am in the area often, and when I feel like having a burger in the area this is the spot. Good music, good vibes, nice ambiance. I never have a reservation but the bar usually has space, therefore I'll eat there. The last time I went, though, I got a table for me and my friends. The table was "freshly washed"???? Which means wet and sticky. The server that took our order did NOT take notes of what we wanted, which resulted in him forgetting one of the burgers and then trying to blame it on us because "we said so". Okay so was I tripping when you also repeated three burgers' names in our order? lol okay Anyways I'll stick to the bar seating Their strawberry mojitos are amazing And their wings too!!! Burgers are usually a 7-8/10

Casper

Yelp
When I first went in it was very nice I liked the decoration and the style it was very unique. We sat down and I was in a group so we didn't get served by a server which was fine ofc, but we had a buffet. The food however wasn't good. They eggs were not very good and were kinda cold and the bacon wasn't crispy, and the bagels were not toasted. All in all it's a cool place but the food isn't the best

A S.

Yelp
A fun place to visit - as we have done each year for the past three years to put on a fundraiser concert to benefit my Charity which provides eye exams to those in need. Food just ok, especially for NYC. But the setting can't be beat for a stage for performers. Sound guys are great - especial Vic. The lead for the staff at the event, Haley is awesome. Passed appetizers - hamburger sliders and rice cheese balls were the two best. Also the nacho bar to make your own was enjoyed by many.

Naveen K.

Yelp
Pretty racist front entrance security dude and lady at entrance for the rooftop. They were holding up the line and told us (group of brown folks) 20-30 minutes. So we left. We started walking down the block and looked back and they let group of white people go up. Don't come here.

E D.

Yelp
Good food and awesome service and great customer support I am very impressed by the quality and service of the restaurant. I had the pleasure of working at the bar in London for the past two months and met Nate (pictured). It's amazing to see.

Mike M.

Yelp
I was at the Hard Rock for a pre-New York marathon event with Achilles International. They set up buffet service for our group. They did a good job of taking care of our group. There was over 300 people. I loved the Rock and Roll ambiance of the place. You can walk around and see all the rock and roll exhibits. They had several types of pasta and garlic bread which is great for carb loading before the NY Marathon.

Vince N.

Yelp
I've been a HRC fan for as long as I can remember and will seek them out whenever I'm visiting a locale. EXPERIENCE: The last time I visited HRC New York, there was the back end of a car sticking out of the front façade (opened in 1984) which was so cool at the time. A lot has changed since my 1989 visit as they've moved to a new location in the infestation AKA Times Square (2005), with a very generic-looking front reminiscent of an old Las Vegas casino. This was the 5th Café to open in the world. I didn't have time to check out the restaurant, just the Rock Shop as I needed a new t-shirt. Talk about selection & inventory! This is probably the largest Rock Shop I've been to so far. I'm not keen on their Classic design tee (red & yellow logo) as it's so generic-looking and plain. While I couldn't find anything unique, I walked away with two t's - both in the style of the Classic logo but in distinctive colors. One of them has the Earth in place of the yellow circle with blue lettering on white ($30), the other in a red & white combo on dark gray stonewash ($40, very pricey). Cashier service was quick and friendly. OVERALL: I'll be a HRC fan for life!

Lenny M.

Yelp
It was an enjoyable visit to the Hard Rock Cafe. The exhibits were amazing and the food fare was reasonable!

Christine Y.

Yelp
Yummy apps and burgers, dim lighting, and friendly service. Fries were nice and crispy

Rossana C.

Yelp
I love visiting Hard Rock Cafe while I'm traveling around the world. That's why I was so excited to visit their location in the center of NYC and the heart of Times Square, it was such a dream! This location is huge and beautiful. The service is outstanding! I recommend to order their delicious cocktails and you can get their Hurricane glass, it's a great souvenir! For food, I started with "One night in Bangkok Spicy Shrimp", which was amazing. I also had their Original Legendary Burger. It's HUGE, juicy, and taste so good! My boyfriend ordered their Baby Back Ribs. Please you have to order this when you'll be there. That's one of the best dishes that I have tried so far. JUST PERFECT! They played a couple of great songs, including "Empire State of Mind" while I was having drinks and food there. I was thrilled and so happy! This song was on my playlist when I was planning my trip. Hard Rock Cafe should be your first stop once you get to Times Square! I had an UNFORGETTABLE time there!

Paula P.

Yelp
It is true that Hard Rock cafes are past their glory days but this particular location is a true gem in Times Square if you're looking to get away from the busy crowds. Standard food as expected, nothing on this menu is going to change your life, however it does have awesome nostalgia hanging around everywhere and a nice chill spot to hang out for a while. A wild observation about the value in this place...I remember paying just about the same price in the early 2000s as I did for a burger this time around, which makes it a winner for a snack in the area.

Vivian G.

Yelp
My husband & I went to Broadway & wanted a quick drink before heading back home. We loved coming here. The wait foe a table was 45min but u can go sit at the bar in 5min, just an fyi,so that's what we did! Bartender Chsrlie, super nice. Couple sitting next to us, also nice&we chatted for quite a bit. The mojito is enormous, so I got another one wings and chicken Flatbread then headed home. Next time we will have entrees and peruse the menu more. Greta service
