I come to Harlem Nights on Monday nights often enough and it is never a dull moment. Its comedy and open mic night so its a good time!!! Im always impressed by the talent and “cookout energy”. This place is truly a gem. I dont drink much so the water station and cups is perfect for me. The food is just okay. Im not a big fan of the menu but im sure on a drunk night it is very satisfying for people. The staff are always a pleasure from the security to the bartender. I highly recommend people come here and I will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful evening with my amazing husband and brother. We stayed for their comedy night and the drink's were delicious. The owner was so sweet and remembered what we all were having. The place is clean and upbeat. Loved our time there. Visiting from P.A. looking forward to returning in December.

Bartender is a mixologist and keeps everyone smiling and in party mode. Many rich vegan and meat food options. Went to perform original music at open mic as a visitor from Chicago and this became my favorite place in Harlem. Child Support Band is so gifted. Great crowd felt like family! Unforgettable late night fun!

This place is pretty cool in Harlem with a cool atmosphere. There are live music events throughout the week ranging from open mic to a comedy show. They have food but it is mainly fried bar food choices. The bartenders are really nice and make good mixed drinks. I'd definitely return to the joint on my next visit.

This place has a lot of mixed reviews so I was ready for anything. I came here last night for a Game Night meetup, and I will most DEFINITELY return. First of all, it's not divey at all in my opinion. And I wouldn't say it's "small" either! Plenty of space, a variety of seating choices and a TON of outdoor dining space as well. A word of caution, the kitchen opens at 8pm, and since I showed up with my folks after work, I had to tell my stomach to be patient and wait until I could order food. Also, amazingly, Happy Hour lasts until 9PM, which is UNHEARD of, and Happy Hour drink prices are as low as $6-7, EVEN for specialty drinks. I got the Sex on the Beach (per other reviewer recommendations) and I LOVED it. You could BARELY taste the liquor, but BOY, was it IN there. Even my sister, who initially declined, was sipping me and my mom's drinks by the end of the night. Once 8pm hit, I got my lemon pepper wings and fries and both were delicious! Fry-lovers, their fries pass inspection. (Note: Food is not part of the Happy Hour specials). The vibe the whole night was super friendly, and the bartender was AWESOME. Everyone was down-to-earth, non-pretentious, nothing shady, just here to have a good time. Also, the music selection was old-school Hip-Hop and RnB and it was on POINT. It was a little empty when we arrived around 6:30, but by 9pm the place got pretty packed. We played Scattergories with some peeps and had a great time. Also, expect a slightly older crowd; this isn't some college joint. I am now a fan!

Let me just say first, the name got me due to being from out of time and having a love for Harlem Nights the movie. There was a comedy show the night we showed up. It is a small place with a nice vibe. I felt like I was at home (STL). Brandon was a tentative and welcoming bartender. I would most definitely recommend this spot to any of my people visiting Harlem.

Came here on Monday to meet my coworker, my first time here from Brooklyn, Def a ride but I made it. Happy hour until 9 is cool, female bartender didn't care for me but the guy was personable. I got a sex on the beach which was good, the frozen Pina colada with passion fruit was good but could be stronger. Also had some garlic parm wings such were salty Def. Needs to be worked on but not bad; fries were salty as well. Overall good vibe with open mic night; singing, poetry, or w.e flows. Good crowd very fun and lively. I enjoyed myself and will Def. Go back. Not too far from the train.

Visiting from Chicago and stopped by here looking for hookah. It was chill, decent prices, we even stumbled into a comedy show there. I'd recommend. Feels safe. Looks clean. Staff was attentive and friendly.

I went two times - once in November with family and once in December for a comedy show. Both times the food was just okay and the drinks were strong but not that tasty. Servers are nice and helpful, but not always knowledgeable about the drinks or menu right away. It's a fun place for more of a dive night out though!

Open mics on Monday nights are such a good time. There's always a good crowd and great performances. 10/10 recommend.

I had a great time at this bar. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, Harlem Nights representative of the inclusive aspects of the neighborhood. I engaged in provocative and intellectual discussion with a couple of people, and it was so refreshing having a meaningful discourse. I can't wait for a return trip so I can listen to some music.

Wings were the mood and Harlem Nights was the place... My guy and I were passing through Harlem to see a friend and decided that we wanted wings. Thanks to Yelp, the reviews pointed us in this direction. The outdoor seating area was really cute, but we had to settle for takeout as we had a few more stops to make. We ordered jerk BBQ and mango sauced wings with Mac and cheese bites. The wings were awesome! The jerk BBQ sauce was spicy, but not overpowering, while the mango sauce was a little sweet, but definitely savory. I was underwhelmed with the Mac and cheese bites, but they were not bad. I made a homemade side salad and we happily scarfed it all down. Next time, we will be seated at Harlem Nights and enjoy some wings along with their delicious looking drinks.

This bar is pretty damn cool! At first I tried to come here on a Thurs night and it was so packed, there was a line outside the place and I didn't want to wait. I came back on a Saturday night and surprisingly it was less packed. There was a comedy night and that was pretty great, it was held in the outside area of the restaurant while the inside still playing music. They have a delicious frozen drink there, just one, not sure what it's called though. Service was nice, decor was really cool and the bathrooms are clean. I definitely enjoyed my time here. There's not many places left that are still fun like Harlem Nights

I came here last weekend. The vibes were laid back and chill. Good music hip hop and reggaeton . Seatings are six feet apart. The drink prices weren't expensive for cocktails. They have indoor and covered outdoor dining. They also have a small stage where they also had seating there too.

I came here on a Monday night to check out the Open Mic scene. The bar has a rustic feel to it that feels like a cross between a dive bar and a Manhattan bar. The drink choice here is definitely Manhattan scale. A lot of choice top shelf bottles on that shelf. I also tried the burger. This thing surprised me. You want to talk about "fresh". I finished half of it before dipping the other half in ketchup with each bite. And then you have the staff. Brandis, I think. As an inebriate, I've experienced a lot of bartenders. He's the kind that understands the "hospitality" aspect of the job, very inviting. The Comedy host is pretty hospitable himself, and I really enjoy the game show themed amateur comedy show. Some of the jokes are "weak" and "confusing", but many of the ones that land are pretty clever. So stop by if you want to test your material, because the audience seems supportive either way.

Thursday night Trappy Hour was everything that the doctor ordered for setting up a holiday weekend. The music was amazing, service incredible, vibe on point, and the fried pickles were the hit. If this had been a person, we would be setting up the second date before the next round of drinks. It is everything you need in a gay bar in Harlem.

This is a cool spot in Harlem for good music and drinks. I went with my friends on a Saturday night and we found a little nook to sit in together. The bar is towards the center and a stage in the back corner. Downstairs are the restrooms. It was pretty crowded and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We had drinks and there were lots to choose from. There was one I really liked with a strawberry creme flavor. It was smooth and tasty. I had a few. My friends enjoyed their drinks too. They have food available and they had some sort of stuffed meat pies with fries. They seemed to enjoy it. I didn't try it. I would return again for another visit.

I was looking to try a new venue & decided to try this one. It was in a great location for a friend coming from New Jersey. When I arrived, I did walk past the venue because I didn't see a name from the outside. Once I walked past the venue. I realized that was it & walked back. The bar actually reminded me of another bar on the upper west side. We sat inside. If you sit inside, you need to go to the bar for your food & drink orders. They had a great happy hour. I decided to go with the rum punch. I loved the cups that the drinks came in. We all ordered the Angus burger & fries cooked medium well. The food was delicious. The DJ stated to setup around 6pm. The DJ Chris Ice played a great mix of music & kept the crowd entertained. Overall the service was great, Brandon made amazing drinks. My friend wanted Dusse & he made her a drink that she really enjoyed. If you like to hookah, they sell it outside in the enclosed area. I will definitely visit again.

Been here a ton of times it's definitely a hit or miss type of spot you might catch them on a good night when it's packed and they have an event going on, you might catch them on a night where they are dead but still playing great music, it is in the "ghetto or next to the projects but I wouldn't call it unsafe... THEY NOW HAVE HOOKAH ITS $40 with your choice of a free refill or frozen hookah so that's very interesting and now exciting to know especially since they never had hookah before. The drinks are very nice and well made but if you don't catch happy hour they are $20 a drink but the great thing is the kitchen stays open late, this place is really a gem in its self just got to catch it on a good night and don't come with super high expectations the plus side is they sever wine and beer, again check the instagram/social media to figure out if an event like poetry night or a comedy session is going on it's very hit or miss just take it as it is a dive bar in Harlem that appeals to its neighbors and knows there demographic but don't rule it out it's a good time when busy and packed I been here a bunch of times and if I know places are closing early this place will definitely be open late till 4am Everyday of the week dead or not 10/10 recommend if you want a drink or food.

Thanks to my trusty Yelp App, I made my way from Lenox Avenue to Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard to this old charm, rustic establishment. A quaint, yet highly energetic atmosphere with blaring music & patrons alike on the make shift dance floor. To be fair, it was after midnight when I showed up. To note: Harlem Nights hosts Comedy Shows, Podcasts, Live Music & Private Events. After a few minutes sitting on the window sill, I made my exit.

Not sure if they're trying something new, but the guy with the dreads that was making my hookahs, I think he needs to be making hookahs and drinks. I go to Harlem knights almost every Sunday purchasing hookahs and drinks. I can't understand how I paid $60 for a hookah with the square charcoal for an extra $5 plus tip and it's dead in 35 minutes compared to about an hour usually when the guy with the dreads do it? Lawd, can y'all get the guy with dreads back please and have him doing drinks too. I'm confident he would make the hookahs where it's suppose to be as well as drinks. Thank you so much in advance.

It's a freeking blast here. The music was great. Nice crowd, bartender was quick. The drinks were not the strongest in the world, but still worth the price. If you're around Harlem, pop in for a drink. Keep in mind its crowded on the weekends.

The uptown fam wanted to try something new so we ended up here. We went in aware that Harlem Nights is known mainly for their entertainment but wanted to check out their Sunday Brunch. Upon arrival we were greeted straight away and instructed to sit anywhere. The bar area was completely full, which was a good sign, so we sat at a four top high-top. We were quickly given a paper menu by our host, I'll call him 'Jack' for reasons that will be apparent throughout this review. The menu listed a small variety of 'brunch' items, I say 'brunch' as their menu had none of the regular breakfast/lunch staples. It became quickly apparent that Jack, our host, now waiter, was the only one on the floor. Jack came back over and took our drink orders, prepared them and served them, then quickly took our food orders. Our food arrived, by Jack the host/bartender/waiter, within a decent amount of time. Which was impressive, but made sense as it was clear that the majority of the food items were frozen then microwaved. My order of spinach quiche had a decent cheese, spinach flavor around the edges but was cold in the middle. I didn't have the heart to send it back because it would've been cruel to see Jack continue to run around host, bartend and serve the now full venue. Homeboy had way too much to do by himself. He was evidently overwhelmed but he surprisingly kept it as pleasant as he could, hustling from bar to table to kitchen...phew! I was tired watching the man. As for everyone's food within my group there were no overwhelming pleasant comments. We all kept an open mind and in the end, we didn't let these things spoil our afternoon as we enjoyed the old school hip hop playing in the background, our overall company and our fun conversation, all things that helped to make our afternoon. Harlem Nights has their regulars so that hopefully should sustain them as their current food options certainly won't. My overall rating borders on 2.25 stars, more for the hardworking service and cool atmosphere and a lot less for the food.

My friends chose Harlem Nights to get some drinks after work. The place has a really good happy hour with mixed drinks $5, draft beers $4, wine $6 pretty much everything under $10!! (as of 2018) The bartender that night was super nice and courteous. The food was surprisingly good for bar food. I had a jerk chicken patty, honey mango wings, and sweet potato fries. The wings were good, but I didn't taste the mango. The chicken patty was on point and their BBQ side sauce is flavorful and I enjoyed dipping my wings and fries in it. There was also comedy going on and all the comedians were very funny. I learned they also have music nights and will definitely try that out as well. I highly recommend Harlem Nights if you are in the area and want a chill spot, with cheap drinks, good service, and decent food.

Most important thing you need to know: their chicken is TO DIE FOR. I've had my fair share of fried chicken but the flavoring here is just off the chain. Everything from the meat to the outside crispy skin is seeped in some sort of savory goodness that gets you hooked. Must try! Food aside this little bar/music venue is really cool and artsy. The owner furnished the entire place with his own hands. There's a stage in the back where a live band plays. The place has a very cozy, neighborhood feel. The entire staff is very nice and friendly. If you're feeling adventurous and wanna venture past all of the usual stuff in Manhattan, come check this place out!

This bar / live music venue is a great sized spot with solid drink selection and good pub food. I tried the Buffalo Trace Bourbon Fruit punch, fried pickles and buffalo wings. With live music almost everyday, this bar is definitely worth it if you are looking for a lively bar uptown. I talked to Claud, the owner, and I really like to vibe that he has created with wood decor and musical instruments throughout the bar. This bar is all about the music and it is great to have a solid go-to music venue/ bar. The 2/3 Train 135th St. stop is the closest subway stop but there is also access near the A or C Train too. Finally, Super Black who was performing when I visit on Saturday were solid entertainers. They covered a cool variety of music and got everyone into the music.

The absolute ghetto. From the moment I walked in I regretted it. The crowd, the staff, THE BOUNCER. GHETTO. I work at a bar in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for a quick drink with a coworker... BIG MISTAKE. I walked away to smoke a cigarette, with drinks still on my table and left my work uniform on a chair and it got stolen. And ugly ass plaid shirt I told the bouncer that something we missing and he completely ignored me. My coworker goes up and asked him again and he looks at him and says "I don't give a fuck pay attention to your shit" after that we grabbed what remained of our shit and left. Absolutely would not recommend unless you're into ratchet shit

The owner is a very friendly nice guy as well as his bar support. I've been there a few times and have always found Harlem Nights friendly. The customers are friendly to both the regular ones and the newbies. I was there for Keith West's Harlem Hands Foundation Christmas Gift Toy Drive and everyone had a great time. The drinks were very good and not watered down!

I had order Lemon pepper wings and from the look of it it was no lemon pepper on the wings. It was plain wings. So I asked to get a new order of the lemon pepper wing since they got cold waiting as well as it being the wrong order. Then we came with the "fixed" order was the same cold wings with sprinkled lemon pepper on it. Then the waitress was giving us an attitude the whole time. It was just a disappointing experience. But who ever do go the drinks are good

Got Ripped off for happy hour, I Paid 95 dollars for 3 drinks & 2 orders of wings. There was only 6 wings per order (Nasty). If you go there be prepared for add on charges per order and fully priced drinks.

LOVE LOVE LOVE I was really in heaven at this bar. I felt like I was in Love Jones or something. It was super cute and intimate, the vibes were great, and the staff was quick. I had a few drinks and the popcorn shrimp and sweet potato fries and it was really good and fresh tasting. I would definitely recommend this bar to anyone visiting NY because I felt at home. I can't wait to come back to Harlem and experience this again. My soul needs it!

Came here for the open mic music sessions on Mondays @ 930 and boy was that a great decision! My boy an I were staying in Harlem on a trip from LA. Wanted to hear some good live poetry or music. Went to Red Roosters the night before and they had live Jazz and it was a great experience, but we wanted something a bit more intimate and that's exactly what this was. Great energy, drinks and talent! Will be back anytime I am here on a Monday FOOOORR SUUUREE!!! Enjoy! D

Came here for a Monday night open mic comedy night, and it was a blast. The host Rashon (I hope I got the right) was hilarious. Some of the comedians struggled, but it only made you appreciate how hard it is to entertain a crowd. Got roasted a little for being a white table, but all in all 10/10 exp. Good prices, decent bar food, and good laughs. Couldn't ask for more

When we first arrived there was an annoying lag in getting the bartender's attention and that put a serious damper on my time. There were two bartenders but they each stuck to their side of the bar and ignored the other. Weird. After a while some guy who probably overheard my gripes made sure to point her in my direction. After that, the party truly began. The live act was doing a bang up job despite the place having the basic acoustics of a cement room. Sound fell flat and if you wanted to speak with your company then stepping outside or yelling were the only options. DJ comes on between acts but the draw here is the live music. This place has potential because not many places in Harlem offer similar entertainment without a cover. The bathrooms and overall location are super clean. They happen to serve food-- although I would probably eat before coming here. ( Not sure if it was an off day for fried Mac n cheese balls and chicken nuggets.) Also, considering that THEY ARE OPEN TIL 4AM, one can start or end the evening here. It has everything going in it's favor once they work out a groove. There were so many things that they did right that I actually left in high spirits and look forward to returning (even if I may just have drinks at Hyacinth's first).

Stopped by this place on Friday after my friend and I found it in Yelp. Honestly, these kind of bars are i like. Very laid back with good music. They have a jukebox as well. The happy hour is awesome. Flavored margaritas are $6 till 9pm. Every. Damn. Day! Yasssss. There was a woman bartender when we were there and she was great. The guy that came later was okay, but not as on top of it. We didn't eat anything there, but the food looks fine for a no frills bar. Would work if you're looking for a little snack. I will most definitely be back.

Chill bar with band. Enjoyable with good drinks. I've always passed by the outside without going in. The woodwork is so interesting I finally convinced a few friends to go. Seems like a cool neighborhood spot. I'll try to go again.

My girlfriends chose Harlem Nights Bar as the spot where we would enjoy some drinks and celebrate my birthday, and this was an excellent choice!!! Much to my surprise, my first drink was free, because I was the birthday girl!!! So I would just need to tag Harlem Nights Bar on my post in exchange for the free drink, and that's just what I did! Second bonus surprise was that Tuesday night was kareoke night!!!!!!! Wepaaaaaaa!!!! My girlfriends and I danced and sang with the other patrons all night long. We thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and bar food we ordered and the wait staff provided fantastic service with smiles on their faces! I got to hand it to Harlem Nights for being our "safe space" away from the Bridge and Tunnel crowd on Saint Patty's day. Overall, my impression is that it's not bad but not great either. I sort have had high expectations based on other reviews and was a little disappointed. The best thing about this bar is that as of now, its happy hour goes until 9 pm and hopefully will continue to for the foreseeable future. This is a big plus in its favor since it's so far uptown and since most of its patrons work in midtown or downtown, getting uptown for a happy hour with a hard stop of 7 pm can be rough. So major kudos for that. However, (and I know I'll sound old AF, but I'll take my chances) the music is SO LOUD. On this particular Friday, there was a young crowd that liked to dance and a live DJ spinning rap, reggaeton, and R&B mixes. Now I like a good thumping bass as much as the next millennial but when you can't even carry on a conversation with someone and have to shout in their ear -- it makes for a very unpleasant experience. I can guarantee you that it's a noise violation too. Not very considerate to the folks who live in this otherwise quiet neighborhood. Other than that, the wings were not that impressive. The menu is bare bones bar food so we picked what we thought would be a safe option -- hot wings and Hennessee mango wings. The wings were slathered in tons of sticky sauce, and themselves were quite small with not a lot of meat. Not to mention the fact that the server only gave us like two napkins a piece with our order. Anyone whose ever eaten wings know why this is no bueno. A wet nap or two and some more napkins would have been very helpful! TLDR: The fact that happy hour goes until 9 is a HUGE plus. Other than that, the loud music, sub-par food options, and service quirks can be a little :-/.

Decided to try this place out after purchasing a drink deal on Groupon. And boy am I happy I did. The deal was for two brewskis and an appetizer. But in reality the happy hour specials are reason enough to stop by. I love love love the decor. Reminds me a lot of New Orleans/down south. The venue is intimate and casual. I went on a Wednesday and there was plenty of live entertainment (did not plan for this so it was a wonderful surprise). There were local comedians, musicians, a dope DJ, singers and rappers. There were also raffles and giveaways which I was fortunate enough to snag! The food was pretty middle of the road bar food (mostly fried offerings on paper plates). But, the alcohol selection is where they really shine! Parking is annoying so leave time to find a spot if you're driving. The best part of this particular experience was the bartender. She was a real party in a glass! Cant wait to go back!

This is a very cool bar. But the review and five stars are for the bouncer. A friend of ours rushed here on a hot night, then almost passed out. He was so helpful, rushed to get her a seat, then inside to get her a cold bottle of water. Much thanks, these stars are all for you.

Great bar! We stopped in during Harlem Pride and the place was really hopping. They have a nice variety of beers on draught and in bottles. We only had drinks, but we looked over the food menu and we can't wait to come back and try it. This is another great spot in Central Harlem.

I love love love this place. The bartenders are great and the happy hour is the best. I like how all the food comes with chips. Kettle chips. Ayyeeee. Okay, back to drinks. Happy hour is until 9! Love it. Also, every night there is some form of entertainment. I am a newbie to the neighborhood and I am glad I stumbled in.

Happy hour every day after 6 PM! Bar tenders are fast and friendly! i would personally stay away from some of the bar bites, but come here for the drinks! Also...there always seems to be live entertainment! the thing that really caught my eye was the fact that there were mutliple personal stalls downstairs for the bathroom, very clean bathrooms!

Excellent service, the outer part of the bar has plenty of seats and nicely heated. Drinks are a bit pricey, but strong.

This venue is deplorable do not and I repeat do not visit this complete catastrophe recently went there and I spoke with the manager about the deplorable conditions of the air-conditioning he said oh it's too many people I said well in that case you always say that because I've been here other occasions in the spring when there was no air and now it is the summer his response he walked away and continued to smoke a cigarette friendly doorman however this place is absolutely Disgusting I found a better restroom in an alley during Mardi Gras and they wreak of apple cider vinegar bleach and sex
