My go-to wine store in Harlem. The staff is very friendly and the owner is amazing. They also do wine tasting events so when you stop by be sure to sign up for their mailing list.

Loved this little spot! Stopped in to grab a couple bottle to bring home to Canada while on a recent mini vacation in NY. Loved the laid back, no-pressure vibe. The staff person working was very helpful but also gave me lots of time to look around on my own before I had questions. When I did ask them for a recommendation, she nailed it. Love the hand written tags and really liked the labels showing female run vineyards or black wine makers for example. The employee working offered to switch out one of my selections for a chilled one if I was going to be drinking it that day (I was!). Came across many new selections/vineyards I haven’t come across anywhere else. Definitively worth stopping in if you’re a wine lover! All price points were available. (Especially loved the “Wild in Sheep’s Clothing” cab sauv.)

I had the greatest time visiting this incredible wine store and gallery. I came to meet a friend and we turned out getting two eclectic red bottles of wine. They were incredibly flavorful rich and bold, Pascal was wonderful and lovely host. I can’t wait to visit again soon.

A neighbor hood gem, HWG is our go to shop for a great bottle of wine. Daneen and Pascal stock their shelves with an eclectic and thoughtful selection of wines from near and far. They’re extremely knowledgeable and are always willing to help me make an informed decision and/or broaden my palette. Regardless of the price point, I’ve always left with a decent/remarkable/transcendent bottle of wine to compliment my meal mood. It’s also worth noting that their space and the way they display their wine is as thoughtful as the selection they offer making their name quite appropriate!

This has been my favorite wine store in the neighborhood for a while. It’s owned by a local couple who put a lot of thought into their selection, including some more uncommon wines and a great list of bottles from black-owned wineries. They also hold fun weekly tastings. And it’s a gorgeous store too.

A thoughtfully curated selection of natural and biodynamic wine, with a focus on BIPOC and women owned wine. They’ve got orange wine which I’m very excited about! Very helpful and welcoming staff. Very glad to happen upon this gem.

great spot for picking up a bottle for friends! the staff had wonderful recommendations. they suggested i get something for my friend's birthday and it was a hit :) they did wine tastings every week, i have been meaning to get to one of them. the staff was very helpful and informed. the shop itself is rustic and chic. couldn't ask for a better experience.

The most wonderful aspect of the Harlem Wine Gallery is the culture that they are developing around this delicious and carefully curated offering of international wines. The events at that store enlighten and uplift the community around them. I have never met anyone more dedicated to the craft and art of wine presentation than these people and it is by far my favorite place to shop for wine. You leave there with a delicious and high quality product and an amazing education every time.

This was my first visit and it is a lovely spot. I came for a wine tasting. The owners were warm and welcoming and very engaging. They had beautiful charcuterie boards that paired well with the five wines we sampled for thewine tasting. I purchased one bottle of wine Theopolis 2022 Rosé Of Petite Sirah I will definitely be back to shop.

saleswoman was rude when we came in looking for a gift for a friend (lower end bottle). we said we saw the bottle on their website and she said "i'm _sure_ that was never on our website" and suggested something else that was "actually good"

Rule: If your sign says OPEN, then you should be open. This literally the third time I've visited this business and this has occurred. Oh well....It's just Harlem.

The only reason this place gets 2 stars and not 1 is because they actually have a pretty great selection of wines. The simplest way to talk about Harlem wine gallery is to say that they promote themselves as a black owned business that has the largest selection of black owned wines and that is a major draw. They're located in the heart of Harlem so it's not hard to get to or miss. My 1st visit was quick but not for lack of trying. I walked in and saw a white woman with short hair and was immediately confused because I had known this to be a black owned wine store...but she called herself an owner. She did not go into details. After a hurried interaction on her end I went to pay and she asked for my ID. When she saw my date of birth she insisted there was no way I could quite possibly be the age I was because "I looked so young"...it took everything in my power not to say you work in the middle of Harlem have you never heard the phrase "black don't crack" but I left it at that and got my wine and left. On my 2nd visit I was once again greeted by the white woman and was once again confused by the fact that there was no one else in the shop except her. Confused but undeterred from getting my wine I tried to start up a conversation with her to better understand some of the selections from the black owned wine brands. She seemed disinterested in wanting to talk so I got my usual bottle and left. On my 3rd visit I went with a friend of mine who is white. Immediately upon arriving in the store we were greeted by the white woman again who emphatically welcomed us. "welcome to the harlem wine gallery. We are the largest Carrier of black wines in Harlem! We are also black owned. My husband who is the primary owner works in the back let me tell you a little bit about our wines!" At this point I had already been in the store twice by myself and had never even been given more than a hello but immediately upon entering with a white person the red carpet was rolled out. This woman meticulously explained almost every wine that they had on their shelf and when I explained I was a fan of the McBride sisters and black Girl magic wine brand (which I had previously purchased with no fan fare) she went in to another discussion on how they had recently visited for a tasting and she gave me all of these details and just seemed like she was more than eager to spend the next hour chatting with us about every little detail of her store and the experiences that they offer to their customers. As we went to pay, she asked for my friends ID but did not even bother to ask for mine which I found unusual considering the fact that the previous 2 times I went she was insistant that I show ID despite explaining to her that I've already been to the store and my name should be in the system they keep. On my 4th visit and my final visit I knew I could no longer be a Patron to this store. I walked in on a Friday night to find 2 other black people in the store a young black woman and a black man. This time the owner, the black husband was the main one in the store. I heard the black man speak on the phone to a friend and it was clear that he had come to Harlem to visit this place. I heard him explain how it was black owned and just really was hyping up to whoever he was speaking on the phone. As I approached the desk to pay the black woman in front of me is asking general questions about the store and when the owner asks her for her ID he quickly notes that she is not a New Yorker. When she responds no I'm not but I'm moving here with my sister shortly he says OK then I won't enter you into our system... Confused she Then asked a very reasonable question "by entering me in the system do I get some sort of loyalty rewards or do you ever offer discounts on wine?" The owner scoffed in her face and was like no we're a small business why would we offer discounts? Visibly annoyed the woman said OK no worries paid for her wine and left. As I approached the desk to pay the man who was eagerly discussing his experience on the phone gets in line. Before I even had a moment to start my transaction the owner very angrily shouts over my shoulder to the man in line behind me on the phone "excuse me can you please end your phone call this is a very small store and you're talking is very distracting!" Shocked that the store owner could be so rude to a man who was talking positively, I quickly tried to end my transaction vut not before the owner questioned my age after telling him my name should be in the system. I reluctantly provided my ID yet again despite the fact that this was my 4th visit to the store but then he told me that it wasn't in the system. I realized that I wanted a chilled bottle of the wine I had purchased. When I made the request after paying he sighed and said you should have asked Me Before You paid. Stunned by his curmudgeonly attitude towards all 3 of us I vowed I would never return again.

We live in California and our daughter lives in New York. We like to order wine from this wine store and have it delivered to her from time to time. Flowers fade; wine gets better with time!

The best neighborhood wine shop. They are so kind, and will help you find anything you need. It is always calm and warm inside.

Great selection of wines for every budget! I found a nice Malbec, a Red Blend and a couple Cabs (all my favorites!!). Staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back and recommemd this store to anyone who loves wine

Stopped in here for the first time, and I do not think it will be my last. The store actually feels like a gallery, which is a bit different in this part of town. The woman co-ower is super nice and funny. There was a decent selection of Spanish wines, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I look forward to trying the gallery's selections and stopping by one it's tastings.

Great selection of wines in a surprisingly expansive space. Not only are a wide variety of regions represented, but the selection is laid out in a way that makes sense and is easy to navigate (*glares at other, unnamed wine stores). They also have have a wide range of price points as well, so this is a place you can shop for something cheap to pick up for dinner tonight, something nice to gift, or something top shelf for your collection.

I've shop in this place 3 times and with this last time purchase my last (3rd). The customer service in this place is below welcoming by prob the owner (white lady with short hair). I honestly don't leave this comment here to hurt the business but to give future clients a full awareness of they are walking into.

I just love this place. My daughter and I are almost embarrassed by how much we're in there. We go at least twice a week since it's just up the block from us! The owners are wonderful. They are patient and helpful. They take ownership in the neighborhood alongside their neighbors. I enjoy the weekly tastings and the nice selection of wines, and their helpfulness in answering our questions. They are attentive to every customer who walks in the door.

What a gem in this neighborhood! A beautiful selection of wines and incredibly knowledgeable owners. Not to mention star delivery personnel! Harlem, this is the place to go for all of your wine needs. They are so very helpful and you won't be disappointed in any bottle you purchase. They also have a very easy to use app! This is by far my favorite local business in Harlem. Their wine selection is vast and they have wonderful descriptions that help you decide what will be best for you. The owners are lovely and super helpful. They always incredibly kind to my boys who often accompany me to the shop. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are in the area and in need of a perfect bottle of wine this the place to go.

Great new wine store in Harlem with good prices! Frederico is very helpful with recommendations and knowledgeable. Still building out the full space which is slated to be ready by summer. In the meantime the front is open as a popup winestore from 5 to 930pm during the week, 9 to 9 on Saturdays and noon to 9pm Sundays, with tastings on Friday and Saturday evenings.

I have never written a review before but I had to for this place. The owners are super nice and knowledgeable about wine. They have no problem spending 15-20mins talking with you and recommending wine they think you would like. I have been turned on to several types of wine I didn't know existed and I'm better off for it.

Love this place and it's become my go to since they opened up! Everything you want in a wine shop: 1) highly curated, diverse selection of wines 2) you can find something great at any price range 3) kind, knowledgeable staff that doesn't up sell (and don't under sell either - if they think you're going to get $10 more value out of something that's $1-2 out of your price range they'll tell you...and they're right, in my experience!) 4) free local delivery 5) great environment; clean, easy to navigate, nicely decorated Keep up the good work!

My favorite wine store in NYC. Very knowledgeable, for the size of the space a really great selection, very reasonably priced. Federico gives you spot on advice whatever your price range and preferred taste is. I'm a wine enthusiast, not an expert but I'm fortunate enough being for many years friends with some of the top sommeliers and other players in the wine industry. Having this background it's simply wonderful to see that we finally have such a high-quality wine store in Harlem. I wish you guys all the success. You definitely deserve it.

Wow! What an amazing experience this was! Harlem has definitely transformed into a trendy & chic neighborhood over the past year & two. I'm such a fan of the transition that I find myself visiting Harlem a lot more often than usual. During one of my visits a few months ago, I stumbled upon the Harlem Wine Gallery. It was perfect! The space was cozy, warm & welcoming. I couldn't help but notice the walk display that was so unique & so creative. There was a nice collection of wines and a display of a specific drink for tasting at the time. The wine was warmed up & mixed with herbs that came out to be the PERFECT drink. I've never had warm wine before. I chose the bottle of wine I wanted to purchase (which lasted a Good week back home & a very delicious Moscato might I add). Want to know the cherry on the pie of the Harlem Wine Gallery? It's independently owned by a Married Couple! Woooo Hoooo for Small Businesses! As a fellow entrepreneur, it was all the more reason to support & heat all about their story. My Wife & I ended up speaking to them about everything from Harlem to Entrepreneurship for about 30 minutes. They are beautiful inside & out and I urge you to visit & support their business & tell them Heaven Sent Ya!

With an abundant collection and range of distinctive wines, Harlem Wine Gallery is my go-to wine store. I have frequented this establishment multiple times in the previous years and have adored every bottle the co-owners have selected for me. The event space in the back is also delightful for a variety of gatherings. HWG is a neighborhood gem whose charm lies within its accommodating service and diverse selections.

The wine shop that Harlem has been waiting for. A thoughtful selection of great wines at all price points in an attractive setting with very approachable staff. Dani, Pascal and Frederico make me feel like an old friend and always have ideas for great pairings with whatever I'm cooking that night. It doesn't really get any better than that. If you're a wine pro and want something interesting, this is the shop you want to go to in Harlem. If you're intimidated by wine and want friendly help, this is the shop you want to go to in Harlem.

Harlem Wine Gallery is the greatest of all time! The store always has a wonderful collection of yummy and affordable wine, and I've been happy with everything I've tried here. The owners, Dani and Pascal, are lovely and so knowledgeable! They always greet me like a friend and remember what I like - they have a system that keeps track of your past purchases so they can make better recommendations. I can't say enough good things about this place. Worth the trip, even if you don't live in the neighborhood.

An absolute favorite. The owners and staff are kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable. They have a great selection of wines and reasonable prices. They also describe each wine on a label so you can easily pick out a wine you know you'll love!

This is the type of wine store that mostly sells wines you have never heard of, and that's a good thing. The owners are incredibly knowledgable, and there is always someone there willing to help you pick out the right wine. You can be sure to find an excellent wine within your budget, with a plethora of options in the $15-$30 price range. This place is a gem in a neighborhood that is plagued with low-end liquor stores.

I love this store! This wine store is by far the best in Harlem. The selection is vast and incredibly diverse. They are knowledgeable and gracious about helping you find a great wine. The prices range from affordable to "fancy". I've loved every wine they have suggested and look forward to the next one they'll pick for me. They have tastings on the weekends that are fun, you can meet some of Harlem's most interesting people there. Can't wait for their school/event space to open in the back!

I know they have good wines and i ordered for delivery at the first time and I didn't expect to give tips for them I know its my fault for not to be prepared cause i was so used to tip delivery services with my credit card. This store took an hour to delivery without explanation and the guy showed up i think he is the co-owner of the place and acting so rude to me. Like i said i was not prepared and i had 20 dollar bill and i kept saying sorry for this but he kept giving sighing and kind of giving out the vibe he's mad. Long story short he said he had only 15 dollars but i saw he had 18. I gave him 5 dollars for delivery tip. Im not regret that i gave him 5 dollars for tip but he ruined my day by giving that mad vibe. The only reason i made them bottles for delivery because they have 35 dollar minimum and i wanted to save cab fee. It would've be nice for explaining what's the process. This was so unpleasant experience for me. I never write reviews but this i had to. So my tip would be don't make them delivery even though they suggest they would ruin your day with the service.

The Harlem Wine Gallery offerings are spectacular. My wife a "vegetarian" was looking for a gallery knowledgeable of pairings for her French/Mediterranean style dishes while I was looking for some good stuff to go with my soulful Harlem BBQ turkey wings and Georgia cheesy style macaroni and cheese. Well Dani and Pascal delivered on both. Chateau Joly for her and a Bordeaux for me. We ordered a case of the Chateau Joly, which was difficult to find in NYC and are now enjoying the servings. Can I get a Amen!
