Food 10. Grease was obviously fresh, perfect amount of salt in batter to make room for the sauce. (I always get mild and hot) Service was 10/10. Gentleman on the phone who took my order was very pleasant, despite the fact he called me “bro” several times. I rated the atmosphere a 1/5 because of an elder female manager who started swearing at the employees while I was banging my 10 wing dinner. I politely but firmly told her she should not talk to them like that. She said “it’s either here or Taco Bell, do you know how many damn immigrants are looking for jobs” I told her “God don’t like ugly, and you’re being VERY ugly” She said “well don’t come back then, go somewhere else” I said, “no I’ll come back here, the food was delicious and everyone but you was very nice” Sad I left the restaurant and walked towards my vehicle I could still hear her using profanity. The woman was very slender with extremely white teeth about 5’10 and probably over 60 years old…. If you know her, you know her…. If you’re reading this ma’am think about a time when you were young and people were mean to you….. don’t do that….

It is Bussin 5 piece with mild sauce on everything And let me tell y’all. They aren’t cheap on the mild sauce even had some for later on when I dip my donut in it.

The food was horrible 🤢.. I grew up on Harold’s and it tasted nothing like no Harold’s that I’ve ever had and that ketchup and water they call mild sauce oh no and the perch that was cut in half to cheat people wasn’t even big as the palm of my hand it’s so sad that you don’t offer quality service .. Considering your using the name this place is really trash and I’ve never said that about any restaurant

The lady at the cash register was ok but this was the worst experience I ever had. We waited over an hour for wings just not to have any sauce. The co management is horrible to her staff. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had receiving food from this establishment. I believe it’s poor management to why this is happening. Between the restaurant and club they’re not either paying enough or need to keep that rude lady out the mix. I hope this is corrected or at least get that owner out of the way, We should not have to buy sauce cause she went back there yelling at ppl for absolutely nothing. She messed up our order not the workers

I was excited to try this spot since I live outta town and Harold’s was recommended but I left highly disappointed. The cashier woman was rude and had a sarcastic mouth on top of not even acknowledging us for about 5 minutes. When my girlfriend simply asked for a menu it was practically slammed on the counter, when asked about some food on the menu she had a smart Alec response then rudely told her to wait to the side. When I placed my order the woman got rude with me too for no reason. To add insult to injury my food was BLAND! My money and time wasn’t worth the rude attitude and mid food…..

The Fried Chicken King is what they say..... to be honest I was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to the name. I'm from the south and we have PLENTY of Fried chicken spots. I Harold's was in the south it could definitely compete with the best of them! Some like it, others may not... I enjoyed it. Let's talk food...the Chicken was hotter than fish grease and crispy! The white meat wasn't dry and the dark meat was cooked to perfection. The salt and pepper catfish was crispy and flaky...(not a big fish eater). The Fried okra was greasy and in a brown bag.... how could it not be good! The sauce was a nice paring with the chicken and fish. The Owner Nita (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was very nice, lots of personality. When she found out we were in town for a karate tournament and my daughter won, she treated us with some dessert (Taffy Gourmet Grapes)....( white grapes topped with vanilla white chocolate, caramel and peanuts).. I'm mad that they were that good! Simple fresh flavor and not overly sweet. I left the south and still received southern hospitality. Thanks Ms. Nita, you have a new customer!

They are pretty good, but they get extremely busy during lunch. Rather than hire more people to help, the guy with the braids and the 1 cook tries their best to move fast as possible to get orders pushed out. Even an extra person just to answer the phone during lunch could help, but who am I? I only worked for 8 restaurants and ran 3 including a Harold's. Lunch prices are great but doesn't make up for the wait. Great music and environment, just could use more help.

If I can rate 0 I would!!! I don’t like rude people whoever the light skin older around 50 years old is she needs to be reevaluated!!! I went in (I’m not from the city ) and asked about the chicken she told me the dinner specials. I asked where they were and she flipped the paper over with an attitude told me to step to the side and pick what I want! She didn’t even explain to me anything so I told her I knew what I wanted then I asked the size of the chicken and she looked at me like u was so dumb and was like regular and I asked again what’s the size and she said they not jumbo if that’s what you are asking I answered that. Talking to me like I was slow!! AGAIN WITH THE BIGGEST ATTITUDES!!! People like her is what makes me not give businesses my business!!!!

My chicken was good and hot after ordering through grub hub. I even couldn't find the hot pepper on the menu and they accommodated me. Thank you

So, Harold's came highly recommended and the fried chicken was good and the wings were excellent. The mild sauce was very mild and spicy was mid range. Everything came out hot. The hush puppies were very good. I thought this was more fast food but it was not. So if you do not order in, be prepared to wait. The ordering kiosk didn't work and the person who took our order could have been friendlier. If I had ordered ahead and picked up, definitely would have been four stars. Food great. Service could be improved

The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service I've received in my life. I ordered through google / delivery.Com. I placed my order around 11:10am. And was given an order ready range of 11:26 - 11:45. They were to open at 11. I got to the location around 11:20 and the doors were locked. A very nice gentleman was outside and told me we were waiting for a cashier. The doors were locked and I could Not enter. I tried calling back around 11:35 and no one answered the phone. I then called back around 12pm. A man answered the phone and rudely asked me "what are you trying to do" when I asked about my order. That shocked me. And I told Him I'm trying to receive the food I came for. Once at the location the cashier in a black pillars hat lectured me like I was a 2 year old child when I asked for an extra sauce due to my inconvenience of a 1.5 hour wait. Prior to going back up to the location I called google and they confirmed that the restaurant did not confirm my order until 12:04 BUT they did confirm it. The man ended up raising his voice at me and was utterly disrespectful. I will NEVER be back to this location, and reduce my support of the business overall. It's not appropriate for an establishment to disrespect customers. Especially those with a $50 order when the average order is under $20. I'll take my business elsewhere

My husband and I ordered from here and went home without checking our food first which was a BIG MISTAKE! The food was recooked and served to us and we were missing a few pieces of chicken and fish. When I called the restaurant the manager answered with a nasty attitude and I was placed on hold and hung up on twice by the manager! We spent $40 for these two meals and I highly regret it. This restaurant is 0/10, I do not recommend.

I ordered this from Grub Hub! I do understand that my food will not be super hot when it's delivered. However, my chicken was old and dry. I asked for my sauce on the side which was done but the sauce doesn't taste like Harold's signature sauce. Very disappointed in the West Loop location!!!!!!

Im not sure what else to say that hasn't been already said before about Harold's. I called my order in and was surprised they actually answered. Its a hit or miss on getting any location to answer their phone. The person that took my phone order was very polite and my order was ready when I arrived to pick it up. I ordered my usual 8 piece mixed chicken bucket with mild sauce and a side of large fries with mild sauce. The chicken was fried perfectly and they didn't skimp on the mild sauce on either the fries or the chicken. The chicken was nice and crispy and perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be coming back to this location.

Harold's Chicken West loop has good food but be ready to pay for everything. As I reviewed my receipt and watched my order input they charge for lemon pepper and other items too. Most Harold's don't do this. Additionally, I'd recommend checking your order before leaving as I paid for the lemon pepper and middle sauce but my catfish didn't have either. I didn't realize until I was home so it was too late. It was still good and fried right but missing mild sauce and lemon pepper should be a crime lol. Last feedback but chicken breast for my white and cat combo was dry and definitely overcooked it was seasoned good but super dry. The wing however was amazing. I think overall they have some kinks to workout still but they are good. The building appears very new, and is welcoming. There's plenty of paid street parking out front too. I'd still come here again but definitely will review my order for accuracy before leaving especially since they charge for everything.

Definitely won't come here again they are priced higher than every other Harold's in Chicago. The website say half the price of they actually charge in store. the Harold's in south loop is definitely has more reasonable pricing with some quality food. Makes no since . Also the floors are dirty. Look like no one cleans up like ever.

Solid chicken, great prices. They have an extensive menu with things like Mac n cheese bites and chicken all sorts of ways. Two piece dinner (dark meat thigh & leg) was less than $7 with fries and bread. A little bit of a shady location, but not by much. Better option than fast food after a late night of drinking, especially as they are open until 5am on the weekends. The lady at the register was also very kind, as my phone was dying and at 1% charge... she charged it behind the counter while we ate. Super nice service, liked the food!

I order via Uber eats at 11:06. Latest delivery was 11:30, at 11:30 it changed to 11:55. Now I can see my Uber driver was there at 11:30. Now fast for to 12. My delivery driver shows up with ice cold food. I'm so confused as to how my food is cold if the driver was at restaurant waiting for my food for 25 mins and it is only 5 mins away. This is the 3rd time I have experienced excessive delays with delivery. I guess it's really my fault for continuing to order. This was the last time!

Always hot and fresh when we order, always come to this location when I visit from Texas. The wait though is long as everyone who orders through Uber etc. are in and out with no wait but we sat and waited for our food for almost 45 mins Love the 3 pc combo with mild and the pizza puffs

The chicken breast are small and insulting. The chicken was overcooked. For what they charge for a half white, they must put out a better product. I really wanted to like this place. I tried them three times. Between the super small breasts and the overcooked chicken, I cannot recommend this establishment.

So the locals said I needed to Harold's. I had some chicken livers and a wing plate. The chicken livers were SO GOODT! Seasoned well and crunchy. The wings were good but I expected more seasoning on the them. I didn't care for the sauce they give you and should've asked for some hot sauce. Needless to say, I'll definitely have those chicken livers again!

Finally got around to trying this Chicago institution and I'm glad I did. The famous mild sauce poured over the chicken was pretty delicious. The sauce is tangy and a little sweet. Got a 6 wing dinner and a 1/2 dark chicken dinner to split. Both the wings and the dark chicken thighs and drumsticks were super moist with a well seasoned crunch. Fries were a little mushy but the bread that it came with was surprisingly addicting.

I had the perch wing combo... it was on point. A pepper & side of Cole slaw I'm always satisfied with these guys

This location deserves ZERO stars. I went at 10:30am on a Thursday. How was the chicken and fries old, hard, and dried out at 10:30. I'm a west sider so I prefer another establishment (Uncle Remus) over Harold's but this was horrible. I'll never return. I doubt I ever patronize any Harold's again. 18 wings with sauce on the side, Lg Fry was $48. I blame myself.. never again Harold's. I didn't bother calling because I don't live in the city and they never honor refunds

I have visited this restaurant several times but really never pleased I go because a friend of mines seems to like it, in my opinion there are much better Harold's in the city but anywho after today's visit I don't plan on returning the food was not good as usual very bland and the young lady at the counter attitude wasn't great If I could rate them a Zero I would,I hope that they are close down soon and something worth my money Opens Up

The food was super good! I got chicken wings and I really enjoyed them. At first it may seem a little pricy and I think it can be, but their dinner plates are decent size. Overall, if you are close to the United CenterI would recommend trying this place. But it is definitely not a sit down place, more of a grab and go. 8/10

Hands down the best chicken I've ever had. Service is friendly although the food takes a minute, it is well worth the wait. Would definitely come here again before hitting up the United Center. I think it's $10 over bang for your buck.

I've had Harold's before as i have family in Milwaukee and Chicago and always enjoyed it. I came down to Chicago with friends and my Bf and we decided to get some Harolds on the way back home. Everything smelled good and was hot. (I don't have a picture of the wire because i stormed back in so disgusted and upset) but he's there was a metal wire poking out of the chicken wing. The guy working the front said he can do Refund or make another so i had him remake. I get back to the car and now there is a plastic (like from a soda bottle) in my fries . At this point i was disgusted and threw everything out and went back to NY hungry. Never coming to this location again.

Great food and great service. The wings are entire wings so you can order half of your normal wing order. Most people just pick up food and go.

Another bucket list item checked! Visited the famous Harold's Chicken, the one closest to me is in the West Loop. Parking is street parking for the most part. Inside is fairly empty, you mostly just order and eat elsewhere, not much dine in options, but that was not important to us at the time. For food, there were TONS of options and truly speaking I wanted everything. We went with a 16 piece chicken bucket, and for sides pizza pocket with fries and jalapeño poppers. Highly highly recommend you get the mild sauce, at least 8 ozs. We went with 3.5oz but that was not enough. Personally was a bigger fan of the mild sauce than the hot sauce, which tastes like a generic franklin's hot type of sauce, nothing terribly special. Chicken was very good! Incredibly crispy, fresh, and hot. I love to douse each bite with sauce. There were a few wing pieces that were a bit dry so the sauce helped get those down. Pizza pocket with fries was probably my favorite side. My only grievance was with the Jalapeño poppers that were just super oily, it flooded the bag that they came in. Otherwise, all in all a fantastic experience and definitely will be taking my friends that visit here.

I somehow seem to end up moving in walking distance of a Harold's Chicken, no matter which hood I move to...believe me its not on purpose. Been like this since I was a kid lol! This may be the closest I've lived to one as its about a 6 minute walk from my place. As usual, the 5 pc mild with fries is on point. I usually call-in to make sure its ready for when I show up. Good stuff...staff is crazy/funny

on my first visit I thought the quality wasn't that great but I thought maybe I just came too late. no excuse. so I thought I would try again last night and I can tell you this place is definitely recooking their chicken. wings were very tough and was not cooked fresh. customer service is not the best either. I won't return Groupon or no Groupon. They have some work to do.

AMAZING! We arrived around 9:55pm because of a delayed Uber on a Thursday night when they close at 10pm. Still had taken all of our orders and the wings with the mild sauce were so worth it. Super amazing people who were friendly and love what they do. If you're visiting Chicago this place is a must!

4-stars for the food The wings are magnificent. It was perfectly cooked and tender. 4-star for the ambiance The setting for a simple and clean meal 4.5-star rating for its price Affordably priced. The portions were adequate for the price, so it was well worth it.

The entrance was a little confusing since it's between a Dunkin' and a nail salon. There was only one guy working there but he was super efficient and wrapped everything neatly. Uber makes you choose so many sauces for no reason though. For the price, it's really good.

Stopped by on a snowy day for a chicken fix and as always they delivered fresh, hot, saucey chicken!! Close to home so I'll certainly be ordering from here again!

Terrible customer service. Yelled at us that they're closed since it's 5 but it's 4:10 PM. Previously hung up on me 7 times before they took my order. They run on their own schedule which is not professional at all. I do not recommend going here because you will be disappointed when you leave with a lack of chicken.

We came here late at night and ordered exactly what the cashier said was popular - the wings in hot sauce with fries. I was a little disappointed by the lack of meat on the wings, as it was mostly just fried stuff. The hot sauce wasn't that spicy either. I was overall pretty disappointed, but maybe I just need to give Harold's another try during the day..

First of all, I am allll in love with this franchise. I was told idk how many times from friends who have lived in chicago their whole lives to make sure i ate at Harolds. After watching the bulls get demolished i was starving and Harolds was a couple of blocks away so why not. It was around 10pm, and it was actually super busy in there so i knew it had to be good. The girl taking orders had the worst attitude known to man but that made me even more excited for the food because its usually the quick places with bad service that have pretty awesome drunk food. Got 6 wings, mild sauce, hush puppies and a drink. There was a YELP coupon for check ins and without hesitation the girl did not want to honor it, told me i HAD to pay cash and when i told her it wasnt stated she rolled her eyes and proceeded to swipe my card like i knew she would. But back to the food, the chicken came out nice and hot and crispy, laying on a bed of soggy fries with some random bread slices, the hush puppies oil was soaking through the bad. IM not sure if it was the 5 long islands i had in me or the food was THAT good but it was definitely my spot for drunk times next time im in the CHI. Pricing you cannot beat, quick service, in and out type of place.

45 minutes for a 8 piece and fries. 7 customers come in and leave before and after me. Order wrong. So sick of this location failing to do anything correctly.

Highly disappointed in Harolds. For starters they do not follow Covid 19 procedures. The guy taking the orders has his mask on his chin the whole time, they didn't seem to care when there was 11 people inside(sign says max 6). On to the food. The chicken tasted old. Yes it has some flavor but was not fresh at all. Asked for mild sauce and got a thing of ketchup that they charge you .50 for, and $1 for ranch.

When I am in the Chicago area I have to stop absolutely stop by Harolds. The only bad thing is that every single harolds is different. I was close to downtown so needless to say, if you really want the good stuff you got to go to the hood to get it. These shrimp where like from the box and I simply wasnt impressed. the chicago sauce was thick and more like ketchup. Wasnt the best by any means.

The food is prepared poorly. I ordered 24 pieces of chicken. N jalapeño bomber The chicken was old and dark. As if it had been sitting from a previous order and refried. The bombers weren't hot at all and soughy. Definitely a waste of money.

Harold's is a staple in Chicago and for good reason. The signature chicken spot didn't gain its popularity without the help of their reasonable prices, iconic mild sauce and dishes, & accommodating staff. Be sure to check in on yelp prior to ordering for a special treat. We stopped in prior to attending Aubrey and The Three Migos show at United Center (in walking distance from venue & great for pre-concert food). Our food came out in a timely manner and looked as good as it tasted. This is one of those places where you can eat like a king without breaking the bank. Luckily there are now 2 Harolds locations in Indianapolis so a road trip isn't required for my fix! But with that being said, next time I am in the Windy City Harold's will most certainly be on my list of stops to make.

I called and was out on hold which was fine but when he came back to the phone he asked me how to help when I started to say my order he started to speak with someone in front of him. When I asked are you talking to me he said yes and continue to take someone in person order. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Couldn't balance customers or respond in an appropriate manner.

Some of the best chicken I ever had. Everywhere I go I must try a chicken spot and this place has yet let me down. That yummy sauce they use is amazing. The service was a bit slow but I guess that's why it's best to order ahead of time. Definitely worth the wait.

Ok so, here's the thing, if the Manager/owner of this location reads this review the young lady SHOULD NOT get in trouble ight? So, the wife and I recently took a trip to Chicago. A list of food spots we need to hit included Harold's Chicken. Listen ight? When we went in there the Cooks had future blasting. I knew it was gonna be good, the cashier had an attitude, I knew it was gonna be good. THEY HAD BOTTLES OF MISTIC IN THE COOLER, I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE GOOD. And lemme tell you, it was f*cking good. Tender, crispy chicken wings man. Their sauce is the perfect mix of thick and rich. Not funny, it doesn't overpower or make the wings soggy. The wife and I split a 6 piece, it comes with fries which we didn't even realize as I'd gotten hush puppies, which themselves were good. I hadn't had chicken from a chicken spot in forever and Harold's perfectly hit the spot.

I came pick up someone's food. Was excited to see a Harolds so close.. Ibwas disappointed on the attitude from the cashier. There were 2 other people in front of me waiting on food. Not pushy nor complaining. Yet her demenor was horrible... Being someobe who hhas worked in the food industry for 10yrs plus.. We have got to stop accepting this type of behavior.. We have got to do better this has got to stop

First and foremost, I want to say that I LOVE fried chicken! I've been to Gus' and Frenchy's in Houston, but the chicken at Harold's was amazingly delicious. I wasn't even hungry, but I wanted to try this place out. It was freshly fried and piping hot. The batter was perfectly seasoned and it was the best fried chicken I've ever had. It was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. I could have eaten a few more pieces because it was so good. I usually like my chicken spicy, but I didn't really need the sauce. I had my sauce on the side, which was tasty, but I was so addicted to the flavor of the deep fried chicken skin. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean! Definitely 5 stars and would highly recommend. We ate the chicken so fast, I didn't even get to take pics. Enjoy though! You'll love it!

Overall OK experience. issue I would say is that they don't include your extra sauces when you purchase for pick up so PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR FOOD. I paid 50 cents for an extra sauce and didn't get it. Not to mention the food had no damn sauce on it lol. Dry ass chicken. They always want to increase prices but then be stingy as hell with the condiments! this shit should NOT be dry if I ask for mild sauce and pay for an extra sauce. Barely any on the fries or the damn chicken.
