Best Family-Friendly Brewery Patios and Beer Gardens Around Boston | Eater Boston

"Harpoon is featuring its new outdoor space this year — appropriately called Outdoors @ Harpoon — and anyone under 21 is allowed when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Non-alcoholic options include Polar seltzers and other Polar drinks, and there’s food as well — pretzels, Legal Sea Foods clam chowder, and Sicilian-style pizza. No reservations. The outdoor space is open Thursday through Sunday, weather-permitting, while the indoor beer hall is open daily. Harpoon is currently open for indoor and outdoor seating, as well as to-go food and drinks." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

We sat down immediately with no waiting. There were plenty of open seats both at the bar and the tables. Our waitress was attentive and nice. Food was decent for airport food. It was a good stop for a pre-flight snack.

This rating is based solely on VIBES. A+ for dropping a banger right in the middle of the terminals. Genius. Fight all those crappy delay downers with seafood, burgers and sandwiches while watching the game at the bar, booth or other seats available. Menu options look great. Get a classic lobster roll in “Bastan” before you head back to good ole’ Florida freedom 🤘🏼

We came for lunch before our flight, and was pleasantly surprised to see a Harpoon at the airport. I have been to the main location in the harbor area of Boston. The service was good and it wasn't too busy so everything came out fast. We had sandwiches, soup, pretzels, and Boston creme. Everything was good. Soup and sandwich was great, the pretzel was good, and theBoston cream was ok. The beers were great. The price was also very reasonable for an airport. Recommended.

It’s fine! Good beer, nice staff, adequate food. Hey, it’s at an airport. It’s a nice place to hang out when your flight is delayed. Had a grilled cheese and tomato soup and ate the whole thing.

Stopped by to try the lobster roll and clam chowder. Nothing special. Clam chowder was hot but not piping hot like you want with chowder or any soup for that matter. I've had just as good from a can. The lobster roll tasted more like mayo than anything else and for $38 ... was a huge waste of money. The waitress was horrible. Why is it that some wait staff act so bothered to be there? I'm tired of tipping TIRED waitress and waiters. I asked for some melted butter and she said no they don't have that. She was inattentive and very low energy.. as if she was the one who'd just traveled 12 hours. Would not recommend this place based on the food but especially the service.

This is a great place to grab a sit-down meal and drink before a flight. The food is of high quality, the servers attentive and the atmosphere hopping. We had a Harpoon lager, mushroom toast and salad with goat cheese, and a kids grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. Everything was delicious. You won't be disappointed with this place.

Google
Fun spot to have a few beers. When I visited the brewery the place was really crowded and it was hard to find a place to sit. I ended squeezing in at the bar and had a couple of flights and a quick meal. They had good beers on tap along with others from local breweries. I wasn’t impressed with their food, but it wasn’t bad for bar food. Overall I had a good time and it was a fun place to visit.

You walk up and can sit down anywhere. The servers come to you and they are very friendly. I wanted more than one item and and asked for suggestions, which were given. The server also told me I could mix my cheese panini and soup. They did not tell me that it would be an additional $3 to do so, which might matter to some. It also doesn't come with the crusty bread. This was my first time having goat cheese on a grilled cheese (Panini is a stretch...), and it wasn't bad, it was just different. It really just needed salt. So did the chowder. Both tasted pretty good, but both needed salt. Food came out a good temp too. I also ordered their Harpoon Cider, which was also pretty good.

Yelp
Traveling can take its toll on a person. Traveling for work, even more so. Sometimes, while waiting for my flight to board, I just want to relax with a pint or two. Well, I lucked out the last time I flew, because my gate was less than 100 feet from Harpoon Taproom. Service was friendly and efficient. I went for one of their guest brews, which was a fine, unfiltered English ale that hit the spot. I had just eaten, which was fortunate because they had few vegan options on their menu. Under similar circumstances, I would certainly return. Decent vegan menu items would probably get an extra star out of me. Safe travels, everyone.

Yelp
We went here before boarding our flight and overall fine for beers, not best for food. The server was ride and not interested in serving even. For the airport, it was reasonably priced. It has a nice seating overall.

Yelp
If you're stuck in Terminal A near Gates 22 & 21 this is a decent but of course expensive option. Two relatively small glasses of wine and a bowl of New England Clam Chowder were $42 before tip. The chowder was good. Menu said it was locally made. Wine was at least a decent quality for the high price. Would have preferred a more generous pour for the price. Others had expensive beer and expensive wine too plus a giant pretzel which they said was good. Came with cold cheese and mustard. Bar seating plus tables. Most of which are communal tables. Server Gal was nice and efficient.

Yelp
I checked out the Harpoon Taproom during a layover in Boston. The prices were reasonable and the servings were generous. I opted for a refreshing side salad. I seem to always crave salad after traveling. For my main dish, I went for comfort food and for the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Everything came out very quickly. The soup was thick in consistency. The bread on the grilled cheese was thick. I had hoped for a little more gooey, starchy cheese action. Overall, this meal was just what I needed.

Yelp
Terminal A is definitely lacking some food options so I decided to give this a try. I got the grilled cheese, it was pretty good for an airport grilled cheese and I thought the goat cheese was a nice touch. I also got a fluffernutter to go, can't go wrong with that. The service was great and the waitress was friendly and attentive even though it got quite busy after I sat down.

Yelp
I would not visit Harpoon Taproom again, value was very off for the prices. Sanitation was a concern, moldy smells from the tables and physical menu. Service was fine, food was fine.

Yelp
The food was great and the service phenomenal! The staff had to handle a massive spill from a customer and they were quick to respond then stayed focused on helping the customer out. Orders came out very fast which makes a huge difference in the airport.

Yelp
At the end of Terminal A by Delta Gate 22, much less busy than more central options. Limited menu but functional variety. Tip: Ask if any menu items are not available before you get your heart set on something. (Running out of tater tots when they are a significant component of several menu items shouldn't happen. All 6 diners in immediate proximity, and I, were disappointed to learn they were out.) Cheese panini and soup were just okay; reasonably priced...for airport food. Could have been easily and economically elevated to a better entree worth $5 more. A win-win for diner and business owner.

Yelp
I mean if you have no other options, I don't typically like to review airport food spots because the bar is already pretty low but this is the second time we have gone to harpoon before a flight and left wishing we just waited until we landed at our destination. My major issue this time around was the $16 wings (about 6 of them) that were either on a plate that was too BIG or we were not given the proper amount. Can't complain about the beers, but the servers weren't telling people that it was sit themselves either which led to a lot of people just standing by the entrance wondering what they were supposed to do.

Yelp
The server working at the bar on Aug. 28th around 5:30 AM was extremely rude and there was only one other person there.

Yelp
I got food poisoning from here from the mushroom toast. At the time they had no phone number to contact to alert them and when I left a message at the regular Harpoon location (which I have never had an issue at!) they never got back to me. In short, would recommend sticking to pre-packaged foods at Logan unless you want to have a bad time.

Yelp
Excellent beer, excellent service, quite good food. Like all airport restaurants, prices seem a bit high. Certainly seems like the best option in this terminal.

Yelp
This place shows disrespect for its customers. The menu lists draft beer pints at $8 but bills $9 for them. You can find this out only after you've paid. They hold out the credit card app with the final bill amount showing and three suggestions for very generous tips, and only after that do you see the itemized list of what you've paid for.
