The environment and service is incredible. This place is truly authentic. We wouldn’t even have a chance to ask for what we needed and it was already brought to us. The meringue cake is a staple. Overall a really good experience.

As I understand, this is a place more for the local elites for social, I heard that it’s hard to book, as i was invited, I don’t know if it’s true. The taste of the food was so hard to describe, I mean, not good. It’s hard to find this standard in Europe, the decoration was poor, the WC was miserable.

Harry Cipriani delivers a near-perfect experience, but there’s room for improvement at the front of house. 4 stars for the front-of-house staff—while polite, they could be more attentive and efficient when seating guests with reservations. 5 stars for the service—our waiter was experienced, professional, and clearly knew the menu inside and out, which made for a smooth dining experience. 5 stars for the food—consistently high-quality and exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant of this caliber. 5 stars for the atmosphere—classic NYC vibes with a touch of old-world elegance, perfect for those who appreciate a timeless setting. I went during my trip to nyc without a reservation for a dessert real quick and the staff was super nice and comprehensive with us . Even if we are not locals and English is not our first language their were super polite and courteous . I’ll definitely come back when I’ll come to New York again .

Service is always impeccable. Seating setup is always slightly cramped at any Cipriani restaurant, but I feel it's done intentionally so that you end up chatting with other patrons (which always occurs when we go). Any dish or cocktail is always amazing, I have no complaints. Will continue to support.

TLDR: Super disappointed by the food, though recognize this restaurant has a nice location. Harry's is kind of old school and fancy, almost like a restaurant you would see in a movie. It has a nice interior and convenient location right at the edge of Central Park in Midtown. Past this surface, I overall didn't enjoy the food and thought the service was a bit slow. I came with a group for lunch (with reservation), and we shared some appetizers, which were good but underwhelming. I enjoyed the tuna tartare, but was not impressed by the severely overpriced salad. For the main, I got their tomato pasta and it was unfortunately among the worst pasta I've had at a restaurant (I honestly preferred the kind that I can make at home for less than $5 in 15 minutes), especially at a high price point. Maybe I just ordered wrong, but I felt the food wanting.

Celebrated my 73 birthday Saturday evening with my family at this restaurant It was a perfect evening. Excellent meal and great people watching. So dinner and a show. The waiters were amazing and so attentive to everyone. The manager Franz was fantastic and totally hands on I highly recommend the restaurant

Italian style dining. I enjoyed a Dover sole special and a delicious butternut squash soup appetizer. The ambiance reminds me of being in a living room and the dining area is moderately lit. The service was exceptional and the water kept coming. I enjoyed their bottled water and I see many complaints for the charge, but that's what you get for good water. Not shocking I frequent restaurants of this caliber often. Good service, good food. This isn't your nonnas kitchen. The food is as expected.

The food was delicious. However, the staff was not welcoming. We are frequent visitors to NYC living only an hour away and the staff treated us as if it was a bother to serve us. If you are a regular at this restaurant, you probably love it. They seemed annoyed that we were taking a table from their regular clientele despite the fact that there were multiple empty tables on a Friday evening. With all the fabulous choices in NYC for dinner, if you are looking for a NYC experience, skip this one. Instead head across the street to the Plaza for impeccable and welcoming service.

The food is better than ever at this hot spot with a great crowd. Cipriani is always an experience, no matter where in the world you're going, and the 5th Avenue location is no exception. Terrible customer service, rude manager. We arrived at the restaurant and waited for someone to seat us, another couple arrived after and the manager bypassed us, greeted, and sat the regulars, which their entire party of four had not arrived. He came back a few minutes later and greeted us. I questioned him why didn't he seat us first. He said they had a table ready for them, SMH... we had a reservation. We get seated and he tells the waiter "44 is spicy". I asked the waiter what our table number was - he said 44. We left!

We ate at Cips @ Belmond Cipriani in Venice Italy and was excited to dine while in NYC! The food and service were exceptional!! We loved the ambiance, decor and the our apps and entrees were five stars! I'd highly recommend for a classic, elegant dining experience while in NYC!!

For anyone visiting NYC and wants to feel like a real New York'r, this is your place. Amazing food, staff, and service. The ambiance is elevated! Everyone here is like family and always so welcoming and kind. UES location is better for locals, especially on the weekend.

Years ago, my ex and I came here for brunch and I wasn't all that amused only because I am not a breakfast/brunch person. I do recall drinking so many bellinis because they said they were the inventor of it. Now I am only able to have one or two because it is very thick. Fast forward to today, I love this place whenever I want pasta. Some people can say they had better, but I just love it here. Their cream pasta with a million lbs of cheese and ham. Delicious! I get scared eating it too fast bc I will miss it. The one thing I am not a fan of is that their drink menu is very limited. Otherwise I am and will continue to go here over and over again.

I visited Harry Cipriani with my family and had a great meal. The portion sizes are small but the food tastes good. I particularly loved the gnocchi. Some members of my family are vegetarian so the menu options were limited for them but the chefs and servers were accommodating and made us some more basic pasta dishes. The restaurant itself is old school and feels cozy inside.

Wasn't impressed. We were there for dinner on a Saturday over Christmas season, so I'll give them a little grace, but even with that, I wouldn't go back. The biggest knock is that our dinners were just not that impressive. I had bolognese pasta, other person had ravioli. Nothing was really wrong with the food, but I wasn't overwhelmed by the flavor either; just meh. The service and overall vibe didn't make up for it. Even with a reservation, we had a little bit of a wait; not too bad, but there is really no waiting room, so standing awkwardly in dining room. After we were seated, a variety of waitstaff took our order, filled our water glasses, brought bread, brought our food, but it was all very rushed and we had no idea who our waiter was or who to ask when we needed something. We waited some time for the check. There were a half-dozen empty tables around us, but staff energy was still very chaotic and place was pretty loud - not conducive to an enjoyable dinner, esp for the price tag. It was a convenient location near Central Park, and it had reservations available a week beforehand when many places were booked solid, so that's why we picked it.

Dropped in for a late dinner around 9:30pm on a summer Wed, after a premiere at the Paris Theater. My best friend used to love Cipriani's, and he died in the pandemic 4 months ago. So I was walking by, and decided to stop in for dinner, since I was already dressed up. Old School wood work. Small compared to some of the other Cipriani's around town. Mostly international crowd. I just had 1 pasta dish, Tagliardi veal ragu. Good service, though I kept asking for water. Seems like many upscale places in midtown survived the pandemic. Only thing is, as a single woman, the bathroom is weirdly located through a hotel lobby, one floor down, beyond some doors, hallways, and a stairwell. So that was a bit creepy on an empty week night. The crowd on a weeknight was business people, some families, some tourist couples. $38 is typical for a dish nowadays in this neighborhood, of the old school high end restaurant variety. Also there are much more expensive restaurants in the neighborhood, such as $150 silly brunch, or however many prix fixe menus. Also I got street parking on the side street metered parking at 7pm.

Food was average-bad. I ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli. I wouldn't say it was "bad", but any frozen bag from a grocery store wouldve tasted better. Did not taste fresh whatsoever. The lemon meringue cake however, was delightful! The meringue was delicious and the cake was nice and spongey. The ice cream and sorbet were good, nothing mind blowing though. The service varied. One of our servers was very nice and attentive and made jokes with us. Another one of our servers always seemed unhappy serving our table and seemed like they were avoiding us despite the restaurant not being very busy. Everyone else was in between those two.

Delicious Lunch. Classic busy New York lunch experience. Chilean seabass was thick (about 3 inches tall) and very juicy. The Veal Ragu pasta was also a great choice, although mild in flavor, the meat and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The noodles have a nice smooth texture with nice spring-like chew. The Lamb shoulder was the daily special and also cooked very well. To top it off, we had the famous meringue cake, which was absolutely decandent - not too sweet with a fluffy mouse like texture. I usually don't like meringue, but this was very nicely prepared. Overall the food was great, the service was a little tough - hard to get their attention/do refills, but not too bad as it was extremely busy. Also if you're a fan of order tea at restaraunts, they use Twinings tea bags (smooth and rich, a London renowned tea brand.

My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner before the ballet. The food was delicious and the ambiance was beautiful! The service was fabulous and they treated us Kentucky girls like locals. Highly recommend!

Looking for a POOR quality yet expensive to suggest to your ENEMY, then this place is what you've been looking for!!! The level of poor quality is Olympic. It can only be matched by the horrible service. There is obviously a serious effort to race to the bottom. The servers were really challenging each other to see who could present himself with the worst attitude. The kicker was when one asked for "another wine sir?" And the negative answer yielded a "ugh" out loud. Exquisite performance of horrible service. The clientele is straight out of Tyhe movie The Shining. Clearly never tasted anything better since1959. And then to top off the wonderfully horrible evening was the bill! If you want to pay a lot of money to experience the worst food and service of your life. This is it! Enjoy!

I always have a good time here. The bartenders are the nicest in the world. They keep me coming back. Chic New Yorkers and visitors from all over the world come here I have met all types of people and have shut this place down having a good time. The bartender, Sal, and Aldo have been there forever, and it feels like a cheers to me. Everyone there is so so nice. I took my cousin there for lunch and she didn't end up liking the veal ravioli and with no problem they changed her dish. Their homemade pasta is truly gourmet and light. I get the baked spinach and cheese cannelloni, and the baked green tagliolini with ham. Also known for the best Bellini's in town.

If you are looking for the quintessential New York City hustle and bustle of an Italian restaurant, than this is your place. If you are looking for decent food, you may want to go somewhere else. Dinner for three was over $400 with the majority of food not consumed. One dish was overcooked and dry, one was inedible as the description did not match the item, and the third lacked flavor. When paying $38 - $50 per item, it should be delicious. The waiter(s) never asked about the food, nor did they comment on the fact that two of the three dishes were hardly touched. Should I have complained, yes. But then I would have had to find someone to complain to before the bill was dropped. Truly bad dinner experience in NYC.

Very classy establishment, waiters in white coats, the New York experience. The service however left much to be desired. Hardly any communication regarding menu items and what was recommended. We ordered the artichokes which were amazing and allegedly grown in Venice. The cucumber salad was also well put together. One member of our party ordered the burger which was raw inside. The fries were great (maybe not 38$ great but still tasty) We also ordered the gnocchi, delicious sauce but the actual gnocchi were waterlogged. I had the tagliatelle which is the reason this review has more than one star. It was delicious. Wonderfully light noodles with well prepared sauce. Waiter only cared about the tip and getting us moving. Good restaurant to say you went and had a New York experience bad restaurant to got to if you want more than that.

My girlfriend wanted to see the Christmas tree and I wanted something good to eat. I've always wanted to try Cipriani since it seems like one of those hoity-toity NYC restaurants. When we walked in, the service was top tier. The restaurant was slightly cramped however, but that didn't deter us. My girlfriend and I had peach bellinis and she had the penne bolognese and I had the 14oz. steak with mashed potatoes. The seating was slightly cramped, and my girlfriend reported that her bolognese was slightly greasy. However, it was an ok experience. Something to cross off a bucket list.

To be honest my dumbass went here and ordered a steak out of all things. 100% not worth it, no flavor on any strip. After the first bite I said "lemme try another piece see if they'll be some flavor" none at all. Oh and that "famous" cake, not worth it. Definitely would get a better one from a deli that has a "little bakery". Oh yeah and the seats are horrible.

**This review is based on the bar experience** I dropped in for a drink after a meeting. I have been to the other locations. Although the atmosphere is dated, I like it as it is a reminder of old New York. This location hosts guests of old money who live in the neighborhood, and it's nice to see the staff interact with the regulars. However, if you are not a regular then you don't get great service. I was there probably for an hour before I began to get okay service. And it's not like the bar was crazy busy. The main bartender seemed stressed out. He didn't offer me water, a menu, or follow up about my drink. I had to flag him down for everything. And unfortunately, all of the drinks I ordered were sub par and extremely overpriced for what they were. I don't mind paying $16-25 on a drink, but if I do - I want it to be good. These drinks were awful. I certainly wouldn't waste money here again. I get it's a scene, but why?

The Maitre D must set the tone for this awful place. I think he needs to find a different career - he's obviously burned out. I've not been here in my 25 years in NYC. When we arrived, this man was screaming at the staff - literally in our ears at the host desk. The food was okay - certainly not exceptional The service marginal. On the way out the same Maitre D kept us from leaving to let others pass that did not seem to want to follow him. He has real trouble reading the customers and honestly does not treat us well. The experience was not good overall. Don't do it.

This is one of the best meals I have ever experienced. Simple menu executed with perfection. My Girl had the veal and I had the slow roasted chicken. Dessert was homemade vanilla gelato and chocolate cake.

Never in my life have I been thrown out of a restaurant. Walked in with my friend at 4pm on a Tuesday. We went towards the bar and immediately a staff member shouted across the room "THE BAR IS CLOSED" and was shaking his head no as in we should leave. The restaurant was pretty much empty but the few people there turned to look at us. So embarrassing!!! I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again.

I will dine again at this wonderful restaurant! The food was good, but not great. The service was good (this place is always busy!). It also wasn't the most comfortable- it's crowded and the ' built in' bench seating along the wall was terrible. Somehow, it all works! I saw a lot of locals there, which is always a good sign. Next time, I'll make sure I'm seated in a chair, not the terribly uncomfortable 'bench-like' seating! The salad and the desserts I had were really good! I had the Meringata Alla Crema. I would return just for this piece of heavenly cake!

$800 gone down the drain. Came to New York for Christmas, my wife's cousin went off the big name. The vibe is nice old-school New York Italian tables and chairs are really low. You feel like the waiters are imposing their figure over you, but anyways, the problem the food. I took one through all of my baloney's pasta I nearly threw up didn't touch the rest of it. My mother-in-law ate some same reaction. The filet mignon from my father-in-law wasn't cooked on the grill, but rather baked in a pot I could not believe what I saw.

This has been our favorite restaurant in NYC for nearly 40 years. The food is delicious and the service is old school which means it's attentive and perfect. There seem to be more employees than guests. Very disappointed in the table next to us with a young patron that refused to take off his baseball cap even though he had short cropped hair, The table was rude and combative with the manager which was painful to watch. I was so embarrassed and felt horrible for the staff who are just trying to adhere to the traditions and decorum that make Harry's the special experience that it is.

I was so excited to come here! All the amazing photos. I couldn't wait to dig into the menu. When we got there the menu was limited. An Italian restaurant with only 4 pastas to choose from. 4 expensive ones with hardly any food. This place is extremely pricey and the food is disgusting. The only thing good here was the Mr. C cocktail. It was delicious. Avoid everything else.

This place definitely deserves all the praise people give it. The food was excellent. The service was stellar. You are given the extra feel of attention throughout the whole experience. I ordered the Tagliolini and it was so rich and cheesy. The prosciutto was melt in your mouth delicious. My wifes mozzarella was as good as it gets and the braised rabbit and mash she ordered as her entree was cooked perfectly. Fall off the bone tender. At the prices they charge you expect 5 star service and top quality food. Harry Cipriani delivers.

My wife and I took our friend here after his wife had to bow out of the Valentine's Day dinner we planned so it was the 3 of us and this review is for us 3. We had an absolutely fabulous time and the food was impeccably prepared to absolute perfection. Our Ecuadorian waiter Rafael was amazing how after working 12 hours was still full of energy and went far out of his way to not only ensure each of our meals was perfect, but he brought out little sampler plates of other specialties of the house for us to taste for future visits. We will definitely be going back to Harry Cipriani when Rafael is working because of how much we enjoyed his personalized service. Now I'm sure the entire wait staff is similarly capable of delivering a high level of satisfaction, but for our second visit, we want to show Rafael how much we appreciate his personal touch by being served by him again. Onto the food, we had a fried seafood combination which was so delicate and tender, the morsels didn't require the excessive chewing to break the bonds as is typical of other calamari dishes at other restaurants. In other words, they were the tenderest we've ever had. So delicious, so tender, and perfectly fried to a light golden brown, we loved it so much! Next, we had a risotto that simply could not be beat. We had s shrimp scampi specially prepared by the chef in a sauce that was to die for and a Chilean Sea Bass (Branzino) that tasted as fresh as if it was just caught that day. Not a single bone to be found. As I said earlier, between courses Rafael was bringing out these tasty treats for us to sample and they will be the delicacies we will enjoy on uor next visit. From what I can remember, a truly al dente twisted pasta dish with a tender veal Bolognese sauce was the spectacular standout. OMG, I almost forgot the Ravioli in a cream sauce with grated cheese, was simply spectacular! I'm telling you folks, have what we had and you will be 100% completely overwhelmed and delighted. In fact, we decided to go back soon and repeat the experience without being afraid to order more than we can eat and bring the rest home. I don't normally give bad reviews, but this restaurant needs to do some work. Restaurant itself: The manager had a bit of an attitude when we came in. I think he may have had a difficult day, which is understandable, but you shouldn't let all the people eating at your restaurant see that. It felt a bit strange for such an upscale place to have such cold service (I was expecting more attentiveness as well) Food: My group had Penne alla puttanesca, Mozzarella di Bufala, 2 different cake flavors, grilled branzino and baked eggplant alla parmigiana. I think the food tasted fine, not the best I've had. Serving size could've been more for the price you are paying. Overall: food tasted fine, but the service really prevents me from wanting to ever go back here.

This was a wonderful meal! The service is exceptional! We were definitely enjoying some people watching here. I highly recommend the roasted chicken. It was prepared perfectly. And for cocktails you have to try the signature Bellini. They have a great wine selection and dessert was on another level delicious

Well if you love New York and want the full effect, then you better go to Harry's. Anyone that gives this fine place less than four stars, honestly should never have walked in the door in the first place. Food and service are what life is about, and so is Harry's... Fans of low price chain restaurants please do yourselves a favor, and seek an alternative dinning spot.

Coming from Texas, we heard so much about Cipriani. Unfortunately, it left much to be desired. It's overcrowded and felt more like a diner than fine dining. We felt rushed and the menu was extremely limited. Food at best was mediocre. My daughter and I could not carry on a conversation because it was so loud, we had to text each other the entire time we were there. The small table they sat us at was so close to the surrounding tables that their conversations overpowered ours and there was a bar between my legs. Couldn't get around that! Cipriani? No thank you!

Very stale and stuffy atmosphere. The food was mediocre at best. Very overpriced for the quality and the non innovative selection of food. Will not be returning. The service was the only redeeming quality of the restaurant.

Pricey, yes...but a sublime experience! Excellent service, unhurried and relaxing despite a busy Holiday season. Great classic dishes, Bellinis and wine....The carpaccio, remains in its own league. The spaghetti with branzino (and all of the pastas for that matter) is not to be missed. The out-of-this-world filet mignon, despite an outrageous-sounding $75 price, is worth the splurge. Welcome back, Harry Cipriani (and Sergio)! You are better than ever and, as always, in a class of your own!!

You have gotta love this restaurant. It is like a trip to Harry's Bar in Venice. Beautiful setting, Linen table cloths changed before the desert. Wonderful food. In this case it was the Homemade Lightly Baked Tagliolini with ham. A house favorite. It was delicious. Lemon pie (Meringata Alla Crema) for desert. Very nice. Service was excellent. For two, without alcohol, the meal was $250. Expensive for lunch, but very good.
