"Set within the historic India House at 1 Hanover Square in the Financial District, this long-running Wall Street stalwart has been serving power diners since 1972. I find the scale and intimacy striking, especially with an encyclopedic wine list that a sommelier like Jacob Daugherty can expertly navigate; the trademark martini (two parts gin, one part vermouth) is very good. Beyond steaks, there’s a strong selection of seafood and pastas, and a creamed spinach so decadently pale it resembles mint ice cream—making this an unusually inclusive steakhouse for vegetarians and the red-meat averse." - Charlie Hobbs
"An upscale joint for power lunches and steak dinners, Harry's is named for entrepreneur Harry Cox who, in the 1950s, would fly the PanAm Clipper to New York City to source prime cuts of beef—well before Bermuda even knew what the word "prime" meant. Cox passed away in 1997, but his legacy still very much lives on—the steaks here are among the island’s best. Cox’s favorite meal was simple: a jumbo shrimp cocktail, an iceberg wedge salad with maytag blue cheese and bacon, a 14-ounce New York Strip sirloin, and a slice of New York style cheesecake. You can have that very meal for $85 (highly recommended) or you can order à la carte from a menu of classic steakhouse apps and entrées. Think tuna tartare and steamed mussels in garlic white wine for starters, and hearty cuts of beef with classic sides." - David LaHuta
"Asbury Park’s St. Laurent Hotel is home to two new spots from the area’s most well known restaurant group. Adjacent to Judy’s, which offers an upscale take on Italian American with a heavy Jewish influence, is Harry’s, a terrific cocktail bar with a beverage director from Miami's Broken Shaker. The drinks at Harry’s are some of the best you’ll find anywhere in the area: expertly crafted cocktails—featuring bitters, cordials, herbs, and complex ingredients like charred onion vermouth—a solid wine list, and a terrific slew of martinis, including an olive oil infused vesper. Harry’s is an ideal lounge for celebrating the start of a long weekend." - michael sinatra
"Harry’s is a classic steakhouse a block from Wall Street that tends to be filled with people who took off their ties on the walk over. Join them in the dark, slightly underground dining room if you want to pair your martini with some jumbo shrimp cocktail and dry-aged filet mignon—or if you just want a drink after work, get a bar seat in the casual bar room. The martini here is old school in that it’s relatively heavy on vermouth, and it comes with a sidecar on ice." - bryan kim, willa moore, kenny yang, neha talreja, carina finn koeppicus
"While you can order a $120 porterhouse for delivery, Harry’s is also offering an $18 sirloin burger with fries, which is usually only available at lunch - call to order." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, arden shore, matt tervooren
