Best takeout ever!! Excuse my bad photography because the fish pieces moved a little on the way back... Everything was super fresh and melt in your mouth. Also J is the nicest shop owner ever! I hope they open dine in again. Also I didn't know this, but apparently they deliver (so you don't need to pay the extra Doordash delivery fees). Wish I knew this sooner.

Haru Sushi is such a hidden gem!! We got high quality and super thick cuts of fish in a beautiful omakase box. All the nigiris were amazing and there was also a toro handroll. The sushi chef was super sweet and very attentive to the order. We’ll definitely be ordering takeout omakase from Haru Sushi again!! 100% recommend from someone who’s been to a lot of good omakase spots

The food at Haru sushi is a cut above the rest, with fish is very fresh and rice is expertly seasoned. Each piece practically melts in your mouth. Amazing chef.

They let customers cut in line at a first come first serve restaurant. After waiting 50 minutes to be seated, 3 line cutters were sat first because 1 person was ‘holding their place’ ahead of time. Poor management. Poor way of running a business of this style. I left. Will never come back nor recommend.

The best sushi, so beautifully packaged and always super fresh! definitely worth it! After eating here, you will have trouble eating anywhere else. I live in the neighborhood and eat there often, consistently good sushi and the best toro!

I was so excited to order from this place. When we received the tiny portions I was so shocked I couldn't believe how much it cost per piece. The quality wasn't anything to write home about. Then 2.5 weeks later I get the strangest text message saying that the merchant service card system they used wasn't depositing into their business account and I was going to be refunded and then I needed to pay them asap. I don't live anywhere near by so I said I felt a bit unsafe just texting my credit card number and would only do Venmo. Venmo takes 3-5 business days and my Venmo account needed money to be transferred over. Meanwhile I'm getting multiple texts asking me to pay today. This is not how you treat customers and I will never order from this place ever again

If you're looking for affordable omakase in West LA, definitely check out Haru Omakase Sushi! I've ordered from this restaurant twice on Ubereats, and I'm definitely impressed at how affordable their sets are in comparison to other sushi spots in the area. I prefer to order from their lunch menu, which is a bit more affordable, and coupled with an Ubereats discount, their sets can definitely be a good bang for your buck. So far, I've tried the Haru's Omakase Set and the Omakase Chirashi, and I would definitely recommend their omakase sushi sets, which come with 8 different types of sashimi, a hand roll, salad, and miso soup. Sushi quality is pretty solid, although not the freshest or highest quality I've had. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend checking them out if you're trying to get quality sushi without breaking the bank, and supporting a small, Asian owned business!

sushi's always been a rough pick for late night munchies, but a couple weeks ago I saw that this place was open till 2am and decided I'd give it a try. in short, the prices are intimidating at first but I was not disappointed whatsoever with what I ordered. I tried the kaisendon and the fish was extremely fresh and tasty even though it was late. honestly, I can say its the best raw fish Ive ever had and I surprisingly got it as takeout. they do delivery too now and the place is soon to have in person dining which is pretty exciting given the quality from just the takeout and delivery alone. the staff are also pretty amazing and accommodating too so you dont need to worry about that. 10/10

HARU Omakase Sushi is located on Westwood Bl south of Wilshire Bl, on the same block as CVS. Yesterday while on my way to UCLA law school my alma mater, traffic was halted due to students and people illegally(without permit) protesting for higher wages and blocking the main streets for a good 40 minutes. To make the most of my time, Yelp guided me to this new sushi restaurant. Luckily, there was a parking lot at the back and was gratis. HARU just opened days ago, I was the only customer, indoor seating only, No outdoor seating. Normally, I prefer outdoor seating, but since I was the only diner at this new place, I was cool with sitting inside for a moment. The dining area is NOT fancy, bare bones basic, was surrounded by piles of new takeout boxes and other restaurant supplies, definitely not photo worthy. The staff was cordial, friendly and helpful to Me and my furbabe. They sanitized the table surface and were attentive. I was informed that all staff were fully vaccinated but I still prefer the staff to wear face masks and gloves, which they did not. The menu has great selections of sushi and other japanese foods. The sushi omakase is their highly recommended as their restaurant name claims. 'Omakase' translates 'I leave it up to you,' in this case, the diner lets the sushi chef make the selection of sushi to present to the diner...but you already knew that :) For drinks, the chilled sparkling drinks imported from Japan, Kimino which comes several flavors. I tried the Yuzo lemon and Mikan orange. Small glass bottled sparkling sodas with much less sugar and calories than regular drinks. I usually don't drink soda, but these drinks were exceptional! Starts with a small bowl of miso soup, which was good, but I hated the fact I was given a regular plastic soup, a porcelain japanese soup spoon would have been preferred. The plastic soup totally killed any enjoyment of the miso soup. The omakase sushi was presented nicely. The set included a spicy tuna filled Nori seaweed hand roll. Note, always eat the hand roll first, so the seaweed wrap is crunchy to the bite. Presented with: ahi, salmon, yellowtail, tuna toro, sea bream, shrimp and every piece of sushi was fresh and delightful, and this omakase sushi dish alone deserves 5 stars. Perhaps when HARU restaurant gets more organized with their dining room situation, it will appear more inviting. Given the stacks of takeout boxes piled up, they are anticipating lots of takeout orders. Nonetheless worth a try!

Did a bunch of research on affordable Omakase and decided to drive over across town for a Saturday night dinner. Unfortunately, they are takeout only now which is not listed anywhere that I could find online. The exterior of the building is beat up and the signage makes it almost seem like a shut down restaurant. I had to call to even figure out what was going on. Didn't end up trying this spot due to no dine-in service. Should probably update your Yelp and Google pages as I wasted an hour round trip heading over here.

I rarely eat sushi because it's expensive, but Haru has a six piece sushi and hand roll signature lunch for $20 that even I can afford! You get high quality fish presented beautifully in a thin wooden box. I especially enjoyed the generously stuffed hand roll that was included, as opposed to a cut roll that uses a lot less fish. Their signature lunches also comes with miso soup. An 8-piece sashimi with hand roll is $22 and chirashi is $30. I didn't see their signature lunches listed online, so you'll have to call them to place your pick up order. They are only open for takeout at the moment, with dine-in hopefully in August. Metered street parking available on Westwood Blvd.

I really liked the sushi, especially the lunch special bento. I guess they changed it up a little, so here's the updated lunch special bento options The bento comes with miso and salad and the entire meal was so clean-tasting and absolutely delectable. I would definitely go again and recommend! When I went there was no dine-in available

This is a review of delivery, however based on our experience, I wouldn't mind trying this place in person. I was pleasantly surprised with the delivery sushi because usually my expectations are very low. Upon grabbing the package from the driver, I was like woah this is heavier than I expected. I ordered 2 chirashi bowls, the crispy spicy tuna, one order of the Hamachi, the scallion maki, and the rainbow roll. It could have easily fed 3 people. Admittedly, I over ordered for 2 people after being let down from other restaurants with teeny tiny portions. The quality was acceptable, the portions were bigger than expected, and the presentation was great. They even packaged the food in fancy thin wooden containers. In addition, they gave us 2 free miso soups. I really appreciated that they kept the rice separate from the fish for the chirashi bowls. For the price, it was about what I would expect. I think for everything, it came out to about $75 per person, but again, I over ordered, and it could have been closer to the $50-60 per person range.

Personally, I've been eagerly awaiting a Japanese restaurant like this. It's on par with the $300 omakase sushi you can find in Beverly Hills, using the same high-quality fish. Currently, they offer only to-go and delivery options, allowing you to relish omakase at home. Furthermore, they accept catering orders, providing excellent menu choices and fantastic decorations for enjoying sushi with friends or family in the comfort of your own home. The most crucial aspect of a Japanese restaurant is the quality of the fish! You won't find sushi of this caliber at such an affordable price anywhere else. I hope they open for dine-in soon so that I can savor their delectable dishes with some sake and beer.

OMG I am So happy to find a spot near my house and I'll be a frequent diner. Extremely satisfied with the quality and taste of the fish. I am hoping the construction with the business will complete soon, so I can have my client meeting at the restaurant.

I visited LA a few weeks ago. Unfortunately the quality of the sushi here has gone done. :( They also changed their packaging which looks a little generic.

High quality sushi place in Westwood! I am pretty picky at sashimi since I am a serious sashimi and sake lover but this place was the right place. The portion of the sashimi was just perfect and the quality was amazing. Would order the premium sashimi here again

I ordered delivery. I ordered several things but 3 orders of tamago was one of the things. Tamago is egg. It was frozen solid in the middle. Egg. Sushi. Was frozen with ice crystals. It's supposed to be room temp. I'm mind blown.

Sent a DoorDash treat of the omakase meal as a little celebration, and it was definitely a wonderful treat! The variety of perfectly prepared nigiri was top level quality, and presented elegantly even though it was takeout. The fried shrimp head was a delicious component, but the standout was the nigiri, including the buttery tuna belly, tuna loin, scallop, salmon, red snapper, freshwater shrimp, saba, and monkfish liver. Definitely on the higher priced side but a truly wonderful meal!

I want to love this place, but as good as the sushi is... ... such nice sushi just loses something as to-go. Presentation for to-go is something they worked hard wat, the chirashi is packed as sashimi and rice separately for optimal freshness on arrival (although they still suffer being transported even a short distance), and the quality, as said, is quite good. Cuts of yellowtail belly (hamachi) were particularly memorable although the fish of the day is obviously going to vary by visit. I waver on the rating. It's obviously spoiled by being to-go. Yet I haven't made it to dine-in yet. Rounding up, in the end, seems fair.

Honestly, best freaking omakase in west LA. The quality and packaging and attention to smallest detail was impeccable. I ordered bento for my daughter and asked one of the sides to be changed as she is allergic, the girl//staff on the phone was super understanding and when we got the order they put a cute decoration for my 3 year old and i was so moved by that small thoughtfulness, since then I order a lot or takeout thru their Clover and taste is always so good. Totally recommend

Yellowtail jalapeño roll and seaweed salad. Great food and quick. I got it to go and when I made my original order they didn't have what I requested. They called me quickly and let me select something different. They didn't even charge me the difference in price. Very pleased good quality food. I will go back.

Ordered delivery from here for Mother's Day dinner this past weekend. Our usual high-end sushi favorites were closed so we thought we would try something new. Two MAJOR issues. We ordered the Miyazaki A5 wagyu bento box and the meat was CLEARLY NOT A5 wagyu. It was like a basic cheap ribeye, chewy, gristly, minimal marbling. Really disappointed especially when paying $50 for 5 very tiny pieces. Second, we ordered two bowls which were supposed to be topped with chopped toro and it was very very obviously not 100% toro. Based on the color, consistency, and taste, we could tell they definitely mixed in quite a bit of regular tuna in with the toro. Overall this was incredibly disappointing. I'm sure management will try to say otherwise, but trust me when I say this was nothing like A5 wagyu or pure toro. We have eaten at nearly all the high end sushi places in LA, and have been to Tokyo and Tsukiji fish market. The omakase chirashi was the only decent thing we had, as the sashimi quality was quite good. The uni quality was also very good. If you eat here, stick with sliced sushi/sashimi in which they can't hide or mix the fish quality. Avoid the wagyu unless they can certify this. Overall we paid close to $250 for a very mediocre meal which left us feeling deceived. We wouldn't be able to recommend this place and would not order from here again.

I've ordered 3 times. Very fresh and good packaging for delivery. I have tried Sake Ikura-Don, Uni-Don and Toro uni-Don. 2 things though, the rice is a bit too hard and cold and miso soup tends to be a bit salty.

Finally theres nice Japanese restaurant in my area Westwood! This place is legit! but Togo temporarily. The best quality and freshly even only togo. Check them out. You will not disappointed it. First of all, I tried their sushi and sashimi and some rollsTheir presentation is phenomenal! Cant wait to try more!

Hands down the best sushi I have ever picked up as a to-go order. They are currently working with delivery and take out only... which initially made me hesitant because I thought it would jeopardize either the quality, presentation and/or overall experience of ordering omakase in the first place- to my delight I could not have been more wrong. I mean wow. Worth every penny and if you are someone who will save up to treat yourself to an epic meal I hope you can experience this that way I have. Truly impressed and both the host and the chef were a so cool and down to earth. When I walked in to pick up my order I spoke with them briefly about taste palette, sourcing and any reopening updates. They are so knowledgeable and it translates into an epic meal. Can't wait to have it again. Also, the best take out packaging award goes to them, love the thin wood (bamboo?) bento

I've lived in Japan - Osaka for 10 years. I have really picky Japanese taste. And It was just a super lucky to find newly opened SUSHIYA, HARU SUSHI near my place. They have so many Lux-High quality sushi menus you can have around Beverly Hills. And besides of sushi, other japanese dishes are really GREAT, especially this UNA DON, SPICY TUNA TEMAKI, and REAL WASABI. I love their wasabi so much. They are not using nasty power wasabi, it's just super fresh real wasabi. Spicy tuna hand roll is just majestic. Popping crisp rice ball is on-point. I am not going to say anything much on Unagi don, cuz it's you must go and try it. Seriously, trust me!

After ordering their beef bento today, I had to change my rating to 3 star... The beef is VERY dry, some of them are even burnt (see my pictures). It's so overcooked that all of them are hard to chew and have that bitter burnt taste. I'm really disappointed because I love the presentation of the bento box and I love the variety of items in it. I hope Haru could improve their quality in the future...

We've ordered takeout from Haru a bunch of times now and it's always been amazing! First, as others have mentioned, the packaging is impeccable. I don't know about you but takeout sushi can sometimes feel a little underwhelming--presentation matters! Bonus: it brings me comfort that the bag is stapled and sealed :) Second and more importantly, the food. Is. Delicious. Full-stop. The fish is fresh (not fishy at all) and generously sliced. Also, I've rarely ordered teriyaki chicken that wasn't a few dry slices drowning in syrup, so I'm often hesitant to try it at new-to-me restaurants, but here they make it right! Even the side salad isn't your usual handful of leaves, but a mix of seaweed salad, cucumbers, and various greens--it's this kind of attention to detail that I so appreciate. Thanks for many a tasty dinner Haru. Cheers to more for hopefully many years to come!

Came here for some delicious sushi and this place absolutely delivered! I wish I lived closer so I could go all the time!

If you are a Dad-To-Be having your baby delivered at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center, I highly recommend ordering delivery from here as first meal for mom after her delivery!

Good for special occasions. It offers very affordable prices for good quality Omakase if you don't want to spend too much money but still lookibg for something fancy at your own places.

I've lived in Westwood for 20 years and have never found a really good and casual sushi place. Fancy, yes. I have my places. I'm so happy I tried Haru tonight as they brought the sophistication and fancy class to a seemingly casual spot. Sushi was perfect in taste and presentation. Great for quality sushi dinner on my own or to impress a guest next time. It's only take out right now and that is fine because the boxes made me so happy. They use very nice boxes and boats. Not the typical styrofoam. I had the rainbow roll, bluefin tuna sashimi, salmon avocado roll, Spicy tuna roll and miso soup. All 10/10!! I'm looking forward to trying the toro and uni next :-)

wow they just opened this week i was walking pass by the restaurant they doing only togo right now and they open dine in after they remodeled restaurant i hope its soon soo excited i did take out some omakase sushi and rolls (alaskan and hamachii roll sorry idk might be wrong name or spell) fish just melting in my mouth how fresh is that i am so happy it's nearby my apartment only 8 min to walk i wish their business success keep go guys its gonna be my regular spot yaay!!!! oh plus their menu is on instagram u guys can see from there too!!!

The best sushi i have ever had. The toro and yellowtail was exquisite. Chefs kiss to the best appetizer- brussel sprouts. Never have i thought i would find the best brussel sprouts in a omakase place. I ordered krispy rice, sushi and sashimi platter, and few others. The best one was tuna- so thick and melts in your mouth. My jaw litterally dropped. Most likely to postmate from this place for next few months. They even had opening promo which i am gonna abuse. Totally recommend

Everything is so fresh and delicious. I have probably eaten at over fifty sushi restaurants across seven states in my life and this place is by far my favorite. I always order on DoorDash from them but I need to get me a babysitter for date night and go in person to see the chef who is doing this voodoo magic or see if they are sprinkling crack on the fish or something, it's so good.

Loved the Omakase Sashimi, Ama Ebi and Uni Sashimi! Super convenient, no frills, quality sushi.

We ordered crispy rice spicy tuna and two Makimono all of which were overly spicy to the point where you couldn't really taste anything else.

Sushi in general is my top 2 fav foods yet this is my first time reviewing a sushi place. I have my go-to and fav spots, and Haru just made me do a double-take. From an unassuming spot on Westwood Blvd theyre offering only take-out for now... But JFC. I got the Omakase Chirashi - TOP quality, cut, freshness, taughtness, temperature (as take-out, the thoughtfulness it takes to get the temperature right - think about that) and beautiful presentation... all within my comfort tier of su$hi. I'm a little giddy at the find.

I heard about this place from a friend. He said it was omakase to go, which was confusing to me. I typically only splurge on omakase while dining in, since sitting at the sushi bar watching the chef slice the fish is part of the price of admission. I finally got around to ordering from Haru and got the lunchtime Haru Omakase, order of 5 premium handrolls, and 1 order soft-shell crab. I just finished eating and the first thought I had? Watching the sushi chef slice is overrated. Second thought was "wow". My omakase came with 5 pieces of sushi, Oh toro, chu toro, kinmedai (golden eye), hotate (scallop), and a white fish I wasn't sure. Additionally, it had some sashimi of uni, ikura, toro and the whitefish. The Oh toro was topped with a bit of caviar. Last was the spicy tuna handroll, salad and miso soup. Pieces were super fresh and quite large. Absolutely a great deal at $35. I'm so full I couldn't eat the 5 hand rolls I ordered, although I'm still trying to figure out how to get it down. The restaurant forgot to add the soft shell crab, but they called me before I got back to the office to let me know and apologize, and offered to bring to my office. I just told him to add it to my order tomorrow. This place is not cheap, but I had a brief discussion with the chef and it was very evident that he was all about the customer and quality of the fish. I'd called a couple of days prior to ask questions and he remembered me, so he had upgraded one of the pieces of fish to kinmedai. Even without kinmedai, this meal was well worth the price. Oh, they also have nodoguro. Only the best places have this fish. They're working toward building out the dining space. I can't wait!

This is takeout only place as of 2022-11-23, but probably the best take out sushi place in LA. Quality fish that competes with some of the best restaurants, but very large cuts of fish. I've tried both omakase sushi and chirashi and so far I've very much enjoyed the food.

Excellent nigiri sushi with a big piece of fresh fish over a small nugget of rice. The shrimp tempura roll was also yummy. I came on the first day of opening and they had great service and put in a little something extra as a thank you, Great to find a quick quality sushi place

I am Really happy that they opened omakase in Westwood area. Sushi s and dishes are bomb thats wordless. They have super fresh assorted types of fishes for Omakase. Garnishes and special seasonings on top of the nigiris were flawlessly delicious it's absolutely melt in your mouth and make you feel fish heaven for sure. I've known chef for a few years and used to come his place to eat. He is well experienced professional Omakase chef. Finally now we can come his own place. Looking forward them to open dining. Super exited

Tried this new place tonight and was impressed with the sushi. Very fresh and high quality. We particularly enjoyed the dragon roll, Alaska roll, and garlic albacore. The presentation was beautiful and we also appreciated the nice containers for our take out order. Look forward to trying some of their signature specials next time.

So happy we tried it today! Such a wonderful value for the dinner sushi omakase togo. Everything was super fresh, tasty and well seasoned. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. Nice addition to westwood BLvd.

Damn This sushi place hands down my Fav! I got lunch Sashimi Omakase ,Crispy rice spicy tuna and Chirashi bowl. It was so bomb how fresh the taste. What i love the most about is Quality of Fish, Presentation ( even though i liked their to go box ). At this moment they are offering to go. I can't wait to try more dishes and Dine in.

Just tried this for the first time tonight and WOW - will definitely not be our last! We had several maki rolls as well as some nigiri, and everything was delicious. Super premium fresh fish with great cuts, as well as fantastic plating. On the pricier side but you get what you pay for - one hundred percent worth it.

Korean style sushi. Not authentic Japanese by any means. Also.. let's just say I have a stomachache now... feeling pukey. so sad. Wanted to like it, but unfortunately this is probably one of my least favorite sushi places in LA. And I've been to them all.
