All-Day Harvey’s Brings Falls Church Homey Comfort Foods With Local Flair - Eater DC

"Fall Church’s new Harvey’s is so into sourcing local, the names of homegrown breweries, wineries, farmers, meat purveyors, and even construction partners are artfully etched in colorful letters on a chalkboard wall upon entry. The all-day American eatery and market comes from first-time restaurant owner and Virginia native Thomas Harvey, the former executive chef at charcuterie standard bearers Partisan and Red Apron Butcher in D.C., and most recently, Tuskie’s Restaurant Group in Virginia. Harvey’s breakout namesake project augments a growing downtown dining strip that counts Thompson Italian and Dogwood Tavern as neighbors. Family-friendly, 48-seat Harvey’s opens with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, with a small market selling beer, wine, and provisions like takeaway salads, sandwiches, and heat-and-eat entrees. A subscription-based monthly wine club debuts in May. Harvey’s, which also houses a 12-person bar facing its open kitchen and 60-seat patio, accepts walk-ins only (no reservations). Opening hours range from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with Sunday service coming soon. Harvey’s starts the day with La Colombe coffee and four types of breakfast sandwiches, including a “Sweet Fire” variety with scrambled eggs, fried chicken, pimiento cheese, and hot honey. Customers can also build their own with an assortment of meats, veggies, cheese, and sauces like smoked tomato chutney and IPA-ioli. A combined lunch and dinner menu leans into comforting pub fare. Fried calamari, fire-roasted onion dip, Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese, Caesar salad, burgers, and pastrami sandwiches join mains like spaghetti carbonara, porter-braised Seven Hills beef short ribs, a chicken Cobb salad, and steak frites, all served on decorative vintage plates. A veggie-friendly main features Portobello mushroom “steak” and royal trumpet “scallops.” The same local ingredients that help build the menu can also be taken home. The market sells cuts of Lynchburg, Virginia’s Seven Hills beef, bacon and charcuterie from D.C.’s Epicuring, and produce from Virginia’s Sylvanaqua Farms. Wines sold at the market can be enjoyed in the dining room for a small corkage fee. Harvey started cooking in 2004 in Purcellville, Virginia, before working as a personal chef and later graduating from the now-shuttered Academie de Cuisine culinary school in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He went on to work under two top chefs in D.C.: Frank Ruta and Fabio Trabbochi at now-closed Palena in Cleveland Park and Casa Luca, respectively. Harvey’s sprinkles in a number of personal family touches. A black-and-white floor tile is modeled after the one in his grandmother’s kitchen, and a honey-sweetened cake relies on his mother-in-law’s recipe. “We want the feeling to be like you’re at friends and family’s house,” says Harvey. “Those are the best experiences.”" - Lisa Ruland

We visited Harvey’s on a busy evening, but despite the crowd, it never felt overcrowded or chaotic. The drink menu had a solid variety, and while many of the food options leaned toward the heavier side, the overall selection was diverse and appealing. We started with the cornbread and deviled eggs, both were excellent appetizers that hit the spot. For the main course, I ordered the beer steak sandwich. The flavor was rich and satisfying, though a bit on the greasy side, which left the bottom bun soggy by the time I got halfway through. Others at the table ordered the salmon and the fish and chips, both were well-prepared and flavorful. I wrapped up the meal with a cold draft PBR, which was a simple, classic finish to a solid dining experience. All in all, Harvey’s delivers a hearty, comfort-food style menu in a lively atmosphere. Worth a visit if you're in the mood for a casual vibe.

Google
Harvey’s really wowed us all around! The food was all incredible and they have a clearly marked allergen menu online. We got the roasted artichoke appetizer which was SO flavorful I will happily return just for that! For dinner, the salmon entree, fusilli bolognese (made vegetarian with beyond, and can be made vegan!), mushroom “scallops” (fully vegan), kids hot dog and grilled cheese with fries. Everything was delicious. The service was fast and friendly, the drinks very well balanced. We are excited to return to this Falls Church gem!

Our server Eric was very attentive to the needs of our table. Especially because we asked for gluten free dishes. He always checked with the chef whenever we had questions. Fortunately, they were very familiar with Celiac Disease and I had no worries about being able to eat at the restaurant. I enjoyed a medium rare steak on top of French fries and an over easy egg. The steak was tender and juicy which contrasted against the crunchy eggs and frencj fries. Everything was delicious and I would definitely come here again! P.s.Photo is a split portion because it was a shared plate

We have so many great things to say about this place!! We were a party of 8 and each person absolutely loved their food. The calamari batter was so think and unique, I couldn't stop eating it. I had the Roasted Duck Ragu Gnocchi, it was out of this world! Dessert was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. The best part of the night was our outstanding server Robin, he was one of the best servers we have ever had!!!!!!!! You will love this place ❤️

Google
Great location and food. I wouldn't pair BBQ with risotto, why not Mac and cheese. The chicken was tender and juicy. Their homemade BBQ sauce is very good, I loved it. Had calamari for an app and that was delicious, 100% recommend. The risotto and Mac and cheese (friend had) were a little crunchy so I assume they needed more time to cook. Will definitely be back to give it another try. Parking was tough and confusing.

Yum! Cute inside! Nice vibe ✨️ We started with deviled eggs and French onion dip- both were great 👍 I had the shrimp and grits- excellent 😋 Will definitely be back- so many things still to try!

Harvey’s is a cool spot, really good food. We are foodies of the area, and their burgers are so good - their gluten free bun is THE BEST in town. Their wine selection is good. Everything is reasonably priced and great quality. We’ve been a number of times, never had bad service or had to wait on a check. Highly recommend.

Went to lunch on a weekday. Atmosphere - 3 Normal and clean setting, nothing special. Service - 5 Really nice and warm staff. Food - 4 Shrimp scampi - first bite was full of butter taste. For me it’s too strong. The main character turned into butter from shrimps. Banh-Sai - good taste! bread was a little dry though. Dirty bird - interesting touch with the fried green tomato. Good fried chicken. Was given the wet napkin with lemon for hand cleaning up at the end. Very thoughtful and sweet service 😍 Conclusion - it’s the kind of fusion place where I can’t tell the cuisine specialty from the menu. But good food is good food. Will come again for brunch and/or dinner.

Yelp
Okay wow! Holy burger, Batman, this place rocks. Amazing atmosphere in a cozy friendly local setting. Everyone here is so nice and smiley and seems to be so happy here and it totally shows.

Yelp
Sorry that I went out of my way to eat a very average breakfast. Drove 20 miles to check the place out and we ordered their breakfast plater that comes with two eggs, sourdough toast and choice of bacon or sausage, and what they said, hash browns for $18.00. Ambiance is nice and service could've been better had the server let us know that they had no hash browns. Instead, they brought us french fries to go with our breakfast. Very average breakfast and would say for the price an overrated breakfast.

Yelp
American restaurant with a basic menu of foods that are seemingly made primarily in-house Both indoor and outdoor seating I came here for brunch with my GF and a friend and our food was tasty, but the service was incredibly slow 25$ off + 20% of bill back if order off of the inKind app. Just use this link to download: app.inkind.com/refer/WBQGH3MH

Yelp
Visited here on a Sunday and had a reservation which surprisingly was given to another party, accidentally. So despite the mix up, we were able to get seated after waiting just a few minutes for the host to figure things out. The space is pretty intimate but the staff are super kind. We ordered the sweet fire breakfast sandwich platter, the Forger breakfast sandwich platter, fish and chips, and the dirty bird. The food was fine, we really enjoyed the biscuits those were the highlights of the entrees. The fish and chips were delicious, the dirty bird was soo juicy and moist. The sweet fire could have been improved with more sauce as it was a little dry. The sides of fruit weren't fresh and the hash browns were interesting, not bad just no flavor.

Yelp
Solid casual place for brunch and dinner. Can get a bit humid with that open kitchen, but great neighborhood feel. Very friendly staff and tasty food.

Yelp
The good thing about Harvey's is that on paper, you can tell that the menu is chef driven. It's basically just comfort food, nothing fancy, but the composition of each item is a bit elevated. The quality and integrity of ingredients seems to be present. The staff is courteous and friendly. However, the execution is underwhelming, while being overpriced! The price-to-portion of some items, like their their beer cheese chicken sandwich for example can be described as stingy. Mine had a sparse amount of chipped chicken mixed w/ mushroom slices. It was almost like a chicken cheese spread (see pic). Or take for example a $15 chicken add-on to a smallish $11 simple salad (that's a $26 chicken salad)! I'd expect to pay that for a salmon Nicoise or rib-eye steak salad, but for a chicken topped salad, c'mon! I feel that nowadays, some casual restaurants get away w/ a false sense of value; portraying a disarming perception that comfort food in a laid back, generic setting is affordable. This is one of those places! But if you pay attention to Harvey's menu, you'll realize that these prices are what you would expect from an upscale, fine dining restaurant downtown. Pricing across the board is easily above its comparable nearby competitors (Kindred, Dominion, The Falls, Dogwood, Open Road, etc.) and more inline with nearby "2941" or similar places vying for a Michelin star/ Bib Gourmand! Bottomline, expect to pay above average prices for standard comfort food, in a tavern setting in the burbs.

Yelp
Harvey's is a perfectly decent place for breakfast/brunch. We came here this past Saturday for a late morning breakfast. We made reservations through Resy. The gal seating people thanked us for making a reservation, indicating we would get a better table as a result. My hunch is Harvey's specializes in self-service Bloody Marys. Upon entry we saw a table by the door laden with the typical ingredients to add to a Bloody Mary, e.g. celery, pickles, olives, various juices and sauces. JP ordered a Bloody Mary with shrimp. They first brought out a glass half-filled with ice and a shot or two of vodka. The nicely cooked and browned shrimp came out a few minutes later. JP was disappointed that for the $3 extra for the shrimp, there was just one shrimp. We also ordered the Breakfast Platter and Biscuits and Gravy. The Breakfast Platter comes with meat (I opted for bacon), eggs, hash browns and for $2 extra two slices of sourdough bread. The bacon was excellent and I loved how my over-easy eggs had pleasing golden touches. The hash browns was actually a molded ovoid, not shredded potatoes as one might expect. It (or they?) were just okay. The Biscuits and Gravy were very good, with a nice flavorful gravy. Note: the half order is plenty big, and the full order is huuuuge! The ambiance is comfortable with lots of windows and light music in the background. Service was fine.

Yelp
Sad. That's how we felt. The vibe was AWESOME. The menu was promising. The coffee was good. The decor and crowd were welcoming. Then I got pancakes that had to have come out of a food service frozen box. They were equally sized and browned, gummy, and sweet with no pancake flavor. How do you mess up pancakes? You buy them frozen in a box. This spot is so charming that upon being seated we were ready to make it our regular weekend haunt. If a cook poured identical pancakes into a griddle in their kitchen from a scratch-made batter, I would be beyond astounded. I do not think that is the case. We will not be back. I WISH this incredible spot with so much potential would ditch the truck food.

Yelp
Saturday 15 March 2025. We had brunch here. We had 16 in our party, 14 adults and 2 kids 11 and under. Called about 2 hours before heading to reserve a BIG table. They were very accommodating and had a spot for us. Many different meals were ordered. Everyone enjoyed their food and drink. If you are in town, I recommend dining here.

Yelp
We live just blocks from Harvey's and have heard from our neighbors how amazing this place is from the service, ambiance, to the food. We were glad to have finally tried this for ourselves and it is exactly as recommended. For a Friday dinner time, we were able to walk right in to be seated inside. Since the weather was a nice cool breeze, the outdoor option had a nice little wait. We immediately recognized folks that we knew and met a new people that sat right next to us. This place truly has a friendly, family, neighborhood charm and community vibe. The service was exceptional and the staff was very attentive. The prices were also reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food and service. Parking was very limited as we had to park away from their lot. An overall very hospitable spot, we will definitely be back! Enjoy!

Yelp
Had come previously for take out breakfast/brunch food only. Recently came in for lunch dine in. Good is always creative here and the products used look quality. The shroom scallops I ordered was way too salty - I could see all the layer of salt sitting on the shrooms. Meanwhile the spaghetti squash underneath it has no flavor at all. Help kitchen! My counterpart's blackened shrimp Caesar salad on the other hand was perfect. So inconsistent. Also pricey. One entree per person for lunch came out to $60+! Free parking in the back is convenient.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Harvey's and had mostly appetizers. The food was interesting, but service was slow and they weren't packed. Took a little while to get seated, and then the food took a little while too. We had the onion dip, which we both liked a lot. We also had the crab fritters. We thought they were OK and it needed more seasoning. Finally we had the house salad as a nod to something healthy and it was good. It was a little pricey for bar food. If service had been great they might have gotten five stars.

Yelp
Just had another awesome breakfast here. Nice little spot on Falls Church's main strip. Great atmosphere, awesome background music and super cool staff. Love the chalk art inside. Pancakes are wonderful. When I come to town, I make every effort to eat here. Get there by 9:00-9:30 no worries.

Yelp
I've been to Harvey's twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfast was really tasty... sausage gravy and biscuits. We thought we'd found our new favorite breakfast place. Lunch was really disappointing. We ordered the roasted artichoke appetizer, which was slimy and flavorless. We got the "dirty" bird chicken sandwich, the breading on which was burnt and flavorless. The burger was tasty, but they use the type of bun that instantly dissentigrates on the first bite. Not sure we'll try again, even for breakfast.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
Pros: - parking garage available behind the restaurant - service was amazing - very well-lit and lots of seating (indoor and outdoor) Cons: - my table ordered the Nordic sandwich (basically an egg lox bagel but on bread), spicy chicken sandwich, and sausage egg sandwich - all sandwiches were just ok. Spicy chicken wasn't spicy at all and pretty flavorless. Eggs and salmon are a weird combo. Sausage was basically non-existent. "Hashbrowns" were potato pieces mashed together and then fried? Not appetizing. Wish this place had better food, probably won't be back.

Yelp
Meatballs Sub. Very thick & generous. Great seasoning. Fish and chips are the best anywhere in the world.

Yelp
We popped in for brunch on a Saturday and were seated outside since we did not have a reservation. Good to know that having a reservation might be better to secure an inside seat. It was September but a little blustery on the day we went. We were seated by Harvey who gave us suggestions on what to order to insure that our dining experience would be great. We ordered the burger and a breakfast sandwich which was fried chicken on a biscuit. The biscuit was tender and flaky and delicious. It be easier to eat with a fork and knife however the flavors were perfect together. I had the burger and it was delicious. The service was great! Just enough attention without hovering and we were in and out within an hour. The environment was cozy and have a nice energetic feeling. Everyone that worked there was pleasant. Great service experience all around so we will be back and may make a reservation next time.

Christophe M.

Yelp
great food, great service, great ambience. Very nice experience overall. Will come back whenever we are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I had been told this was a great place for breakfast or brunch, and the menu offered an array of brunch options. There are many breakfast sandwiches to choose from, traditional brunch entrees, and the classic lunch fare. But I wasn't looking past breakfast food. Work a place called Harvey's, I expected something a little more traditional. But instead it was kind of hipster modern, bright and open. I think the exotic breakfast sandwiches are what they are known for, so my daughter got the "Sweet Fire" honey fried chicken sandwich, but I listened to our waitress and had the pancakes. It was a large portion of big fluffy pancakes made with fresh blueberries. Very good. Ask for extra syrup, because the cakes are big.
google avatar

Alice D.

Yelp
The food was excellent, and the service was very professional. The space is comfortable and relaxed. We went for Sunday brunch and it was perfect.

Yelp
I so wanted to like this restaurant. Friends who had been there before had us try this place. Pleasant atmosphere with family owned vibe. Nice wait staff. Loved the deviled eggs. Not as much the soup but it was good. The shrimp and grits was good not great. But... the OsoBucco was definitely NOT. The cut was low in the leg, so no marrow to be had. The meat was terribly tough as I had to work very hard to get it off the bone. So much so that the waitress saw me struggling and offered a sharper knife. Usually Osso falls off the bone. It was served over a bed of polenta that had good texture and flavor. Wine and drink selection was more than adequate.. Slightly noisy (but not a game changer) since it is a relatively small space with hard surfaces and an open kitchen. A better Osso Bucco may have changed my opinion of Harvey's but unfortunately would not return.

Yelp
Very tasty food and prompt service. More upscale atmosphere than I originally thought.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches! Great services, yummy brunch cocktails (Bloody Mary bar for the win!!) and we've always had attentive servers. And check out the chalk drawings!!!

Yelp
I love the food, the ambiance, and supporting such a unique restaurant. Everyone works hard to make sure you enjoy your food and drinks. I live in DC, but whenever I am in the neighborhood I make sure to stop by and pick up their Blackened Tuna Sandwich, my favorite!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant for brunch with my friends on a Saturday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. For one, they have something for everyone, especially people who follow a plant based lifestyle. The menu is pretty interesting. Our server was kind, he answered all of our questions. It did take a little while for the food to come out, but who is worried about the time when you are catching up with friends :) I like the aesthetic, it's not very big, but it is a cute restaurant. Parking seems to be plentiful, but be mindful of the two hour limit. I got this breakfast sandwich with chicken, egg, and pimento cheese. The flavors complimented each other and the biscuit was very delicious. I loved the homemade hash browns and the side of fruit had plenty of berries. My plant based friend enjoyed her biscuits and gravy and my other friend enjoyed her Philly cheesesteak.

Yelp
Harvey's was recommended by our hotel. The food was great. We had wonderful service and enjoyed talking with the owner. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone local or passing through the area!
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
Food was good, but the restaurant deal is not a deal and is completely misleading. Deceptive enough to make me uncomfortable returning to the restaurant again. Deal was advertised as $25 for app, entree, dessert, and a drink (mimosa was marked as extra cost). 1st, the entree was a quarter of the size of the standard entree. This was not disclosed on menu or by server. 2nd, the drink was regular cost which was also not disclosed on menu or by server. It isn't a deal at all. It's fine to have a crappy deal but be honest about it so I can make an informed choice.

Yelp
Checked out the new Harvey's brunch and it was SO delicious! Started off with deviled eggs, french toast and Sage and Smoke sandwich. All tastes really good! The We also got the English breakfast and steak and eggs. The steak was a bit chewy but the skillet w/ eggs mushrooms and creamy potato in the breakfast was so delicious! Their housemade tomato chutney (both in the toast and in the sandwich) definitely elevates the taste. They have new brunch drinks and my fav was the mangomama ( not pictured)! They are strong also! The restaurant has free parking next door , and nice outdoor seating. In the heart of Falls Church this spot is a solid option for brunch!

Billy S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place looking for a brunch spot with my kids after a weekend visiting friends. We found the perfect spot. Great menu, great food. Service was a little slow, but it was the brunch rush, so more of an observation than a critique.
google avatar

Mary A.

Yelp
I was surprised this breakfast venue didn't open until 9am. We sat outside and had a helpful staff person. He shared his descriptions of the menu items which was helpful. The coffee was a little bitter unfortunately but I liked that we were given several "cream" choices. Sitting outside was delightful. We didn't love the food but it wasn't bad. Parking was easy in the back.

Miles H.

Yelp
The food was not good at all. Even the fruit was nasty. We got the chicken breakfast sandwich and the sage and sausage on a croissant
google avatar

Paul J.

Yelp
Harvey's doesn't look like anything other than another pub-style restaurant, and even a glance at the menu wouldn't make you think otherwise. But this is definitely NOT just another pub. Harvey's does amazing things with regular food. The Steak and Beer-cheese sandwich is one example where they take care in crafting something that elevates a cheesesteak with extra flavors. But the best part of the night was the desserts, especially the cherry ice cream sandwich - it tasted like small-batch gelato perfectly matched to a soft peanut cookie. Again, not something I'd expect from just a regular bar menu. What an amazing find! Harvey's is a diamond in the rough in Falls Church and definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
This a great family owned restaurant. I swas greeted and seated right away. Offered bevereages. So i started with H2O w/lemon. Asked for an old fashioned, however, no liquors. I ordered the cheddar Burger with crispy fries, Cooked medium rare. The burger is absolutely delicious and meat quality was fresh and cooked to order, medium rare. I tried to samples of re wines, an italian, muntipulciano. Whis was tasty, and the russian river pinot, i opted for the latter! Good selction of wine and food! Thomas was very knowledgeable and accommodating. This has got to be the best burger i have had. I have tried a lot of burgers and i absolutely love a good ol'fashioned american burger. This spot takes the #1 winner. Kudos to the chef, thomas, and others that have welcomed me to their establishment!.

Yelp
I went here for my birthday last night and had a lovely time. My cocktail was perfect and the trumpet mushroom scallops were to die for. Just a perfect blend of flavor and textures, and vegan to boot! Service is great and it's a wonderful local restaurant

Yelp
Amazing portions for reasonable prices! Great ambiance and menu. Wish it was bigger but love the vibe and delicious foods.

Yelp
My partner and I were looking for a new brunch spot when we came across Harvey's. On face value, Harvey's offers your classic brunch menu with pancakes and plentiful takes on eggs. My partner got the classic pancakes, which comes as 3 fluffy pancakes + ample butter and syrup. On the other hand, I ordered the little city sandwich. After the first bite, I was ready to call this one of my top 3 breakfast sandwiches of all time! Coupled with a quieter brunch service and easy parking, I could easily see Harvey's becoming quite a popular brunch spot!
google avatar

Carol K.

Yelp
One and done for me. They use old oil on their French fries. I ordered the shirt steak breakfast. For $25 I got a small but delicious piece of steak over soggy greasy limp fries and one egg. I was scared to eat the fries as I may be put on Lipitor. For $25 maybe they can spare 2 eggs like the dinners do. Would have gotten a better meal at IHOP!

Yelp
I cannot say enough about the phenomenal service that we received at Harveys! Scene: Friday night. Crowded restaurant. Two couples walk in with a 3 year old, 2 year old, and infant in a stroller. The typical reaction I have received is stress, lack of accommodation, or uncomfortable glances. That was not the case at Harvey's. They quickly got to work seeing how they could accommodate us, got crayons and coloring for the kids while we waited, took drink orders and got us water while we waited, and within more time they had rearranged tables and we were seated (I wish I got the waiters names because this was fantastic). Harvey's has a casual vibe and the food was excellent. I had the burger and it was the best that I had in recent memory. The braised ribs were fantastic and I cannot rave enough about the excellent service! Harvey's came highly recommended and it was clear why. Thank you!

Harlan W.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place. It's absolutely worth your time and money to check it out. Had breakfast here with my family this morning. The ambience was great. Laid back but still everything was nice, the decor, the music, even the plates, glasses, and silverware were high quality. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and efficient, and everyone else working was the same way, helping each other out to make things run smoothly. Last but certainly not least the food itself was spectacular. Everything is locally sourced and made from scratch. I shared pancakes, eggs, and sausage with my daughter and my wife had the steak frites. All of it was amazing and some of the very best brunch food we've ever had. If we lived in the area we'd be regulars here. Do yourself a favor and go to Harvey's.

Yelp
Thanks Yelp for the help in discovering this local gem in Falls Church! Did Saturday brunch here and it was fantastic. Casual, very clean, great service and finally a place with some breakfast creativity ( awesome menu). Food I believe is sourced locally- YEA! Just a really easy going comfortable place. Beers on tap and counter seating for happy hour! Very impressed and will be back again. Support this locally owned and run business

Yelp
Best pancakes and sausage in Northern Virginia! Harvey's is our favorite go to brunch spot! Everything I have tried I have loved. I do consistently find myself going back to the strawberry and banana pancakes

Yelp
Super cute spot. Had good reviews and nice menu so i decided to try. I was greeted at the door which was a plus. I sat at the bar and was again immediately greeted. Food came out quickly and i had a good view of other items coming off grill. They also have a wood fired grille. I got a pancake and bacon as i wasn't as hungry as I thought, which was good choice. As you can see they gave me half pack of thick bacon, little greasy but hey its bacon. And it tasted almost hickory smoked maybe applewood. The pancake was tasty. They added just the right amount of syrup and butter to the pancake. Wasnt too sweet at all. Ill definitely take that 45 minute flight another sunday or monday morning.

Yelp
Lacks the subtlety I would expect for a restaurant at this price point. First the good news... The staff was WONDERFUL. They were cheerful, engaged, and seemed genuinely happy to be working at Harvey's. The menu was packed with all manner of appetizing options, everything from burgers to Osso Bucco and lots in between. And there's plenty of off-street parking available along with lots of outside seating. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the expectations they presented. The fried chicken wings were soggy and perhaps a bit undercooked. The deviled eggs tasted mostly of salt. The Osso Bucco was drowned in an overcooked tomato sauce and left sitting on a bed of gummy succotash. On the plus side, the pork portion of the dish was plentiful and well-cooked. Finally, their take on a banana split was missing some key ingredients like strawberries and pineapple and didn't benefit in the slightest by having popcorn sprinkled on top. At $100/person we were expecting a lot better. We're going back one more time at some point to try the "burger end" of the menu. If that's any better then I'll update the review.

Yelp
It is the perfect time of year to take advantage of the outdoor seating. While nestled on a patio off the busy sidewalks and streets of Falls Church, the atmosphere embraces and connects you to your community. It never fails that a neighbor or friend will walk by allowing for a quick chat before you are back to enjoying amazing food and cocktails. This is exactly why they say that Harvey's is "home to good food and friends".

Yelp
This place shows signs of making compromises likely around lack of staff/experience. The seating is "seat yourself " so the welcome is lacking. The wait staff are disorganized. No one is specifically assigned to you so requests get lost and the experience is lost along with it. The food is average. I had a very dry short rib. There was one waiter- who was potentially also a GM, who did a fantastic job trying to bail water and credit to him as the 3 stars are largely awarded to him. Teething pains is too gentle a diagnosis here. There needs to be an established theme- what are we going for? An ingredient focus to the food would jump start things here and a long hard look at the price point as you are sitting at tiny tables that don't hold 2 peoples food comfortably in what feels like a shop floor. If it's nibbles and drinks- do that. If you're going for an actual meal experience- changes would mean a more consistent clientele.

Yelp
Playlist alone earns five stars. Half price PBR draft beer is a great treat too. Excellent and beer and wine list otherwise. Have been here a few times but ordered bolognese this time and best meal I've had here. Homemade pasta with great meat sauce is A+. Artichokes were good. Lemon & blueberry pie with a scoop of ice cream to finish made for perfect visit. Great vibe and service too.

Yelp
Fire from the brick oven adds a cozy feel. Food is really great and the staff is fun. : ) Wonderful place to spend Saturday/Sunday Brunch!

Yelp
The Cobb salad I had was very poor, esp. at $22. Having to pay an extra $2.00 for a teaspoon of dried, out-of-the box bacon was a joke. The chicken also was not freshly pan roasted but out of a bag, tasted unpleasant. What a disappointment.
