Hattie's Review - Saratoga Springs - The Infatuation

"While Hattie’s has been the place in town for Southern food since they opened in 1938, they might be equally known for the lively gatherings that happen on their patio after days at the horse-racing track. Even if you’re not in town for the ponies, you can dine in the original front room, which hasn’t changed much since its origins, with old photographs adorning the walls above casual checkered tablecloths, or head to the back bar where fake moss dangles from the ceiling. The menu includes classics like hush puppies, peel-and-eat shrimp, and gumbo, but you absolutely must order the fried chicken and a homemade biscuit. Add on some sides, like the mashed potatoes and cajun coleslaw, and consider getting your chicken “Nashville hot,” which has just enough heat to please spice-lovers without making you full-on sweat. And if you’re here for brunch, the Bloody Mary is one of the best in town. " - Lauren Breedlove

I’m rarely north of the twin bridges but whenever I am going forward, I will come here! Came with my family of 4 on a Sunday. The staff were super friendly. We ordered and got our food within 5 minutes. My kids had the chicken fingers and leg/wing meal with fries and were very happy. I had the double chicken sandwich Nashville hot with Cajun fries. I could not believe the size of it!!! Was spicy but not too hot. My husband had the same sandwich, Hattie’s style and really liked it as well. We also shared the collard greens and fried pickles. Everything we had was delicious. And we all had enough to take home for a 2nd meal! Highly recommend.

My favorite take out at Saratoga Race Course switched from a fantastic offering to chicken tenders which were less than great. Sad to miss their great fried chicken.

The chicken was delicious. The sides were pretty good as well. But, it is very expensive for just 4 pieces of chicken.

i got the 2 piece chicken dinner and it waa EXTREAMLY disappointing, a tiny wing and a piece of back! not much chicken for the price! The bar was very nice.

This a great place. However, the waitress kept pushing appetizers. We gave in and choose one and she kept pushing for a salad, the. Fried tomatoes. For her to stop talking about the appetizer we said we can’t eat tamatoes because we have acid reflux (which is true). After we paid the bill and gave her 20% she was extremely RUDE!! We were getting ready to leave and was yelling in a stern voice coz she wanted to get through. This is my first and last time. I am not going to describe her because I do not want to impact her livelihood But please be respectful. Also, If You are rude because of a Skin Color please do let us know we will take our business elsewhere.

Loved LOVED this fried chicken. So happy to find a great fried chicken restaurant. Staff extremely friendly and atmosphere is easy going and spacious. Will definitely make the trip back to eat there again. So good I had to buy a tshirt.

We’ve given this place a try twice. The chicken too crispy and the red beans and rice well not like any I’ve ever had in Louisiana. Dry and undercooked both times. Maybe try other options.

Great chicken but little pricey for fast food.
