International Gallery Hauser & Wirth’s New LA Location For Art, Dining | Eater LA

"Set to occupy a vintage, single-story Spanish stucco former showroom for classic cars at 8980 Santa Monica Boulevard, this forthcoming 10,000-square-foot Hauser & Wirth space will be remade almost entirely into an art gallery to showcase emerging and world-renowned artists, with a portion of the property devoted to a restaurant and cafe featuring Parisian-style sidewalk dining. The team confirmed the lease but offered no information about the restaurant, staff, or a formal opening date, and the project is still a ways off. Known internationally as a gallery and brokerage with an eye for architecture, design, and dining across properties in Zurich, Hong Kong, London, New York City, and Los Angeles, Hauser & Wirth typically adapts existing buildings (like the former flour mill in the Arts District) and includes an on-site hospitality component." - Farley Elliott

A Gallery, bookstore and restaurant all together in downtown. Worth the visit! Also has 2 big art rooms where you can appreciate the exhibitions. The Manuela restaurant is busy and crowded with artsy people. The bookstore is one of the best I’ve ever seen in terms of art.

It’s a lovely gem in weho! I love this venue better than the one in DTLA but they are both amazing. Great ambience, free admission, stunning art. I was lucky to find street parking :)

Glad to finally be here. Very bright gallery with high ceilings. Visited Painted Rain exhibition by Pat Steir.

LA is extremely fortunate to have TWO Hauser & Wirth locations to enjoy the best of the world's contemporary art.

Which Also

Yelp
Thank you, Hauser & Wirth, for making incredible works of art accessible to the public for free! A friend and I visited this location today to see the LA Story exhibit. The works directly relating to the film were good, but what we really appreciated were the other paintings on display. Besides Hockney's "The Little Splash", it was wonderful to see Eric Fischl's "Barbecue", a painting I have long admired but never thought I would get a chance to see in person. Other standouts for me included paintings by Calida Rawles, Paul Sietsema and Friedrich Kunath. They were also different, but so intriguing. Parking was easy and reasonably priced - $10 behind the building. I look forward to seeing future exhibits.

Yelp
This space had transformed from a vintage classic auto gallery and now an Art gallery. With its DTLA location and now here, Hauser and Wirth Art gallery is a welcomed addition to WEHO. It had been over four years since my last visit to DTLA location of Hauser and Wirth. Elated with its opening in the westside on Santa Monica Bl in West Hollywood. Limited meter street parking. Currently on exhibit are the works from artist George Condo titled 'People Are Strange.' The song from The Doors somehow played in my head lol upon viewing these images, the style of Cubism comes to mind. Spectacular imagery for a visual sensory overload @Hauser Wirth definitely 'Worth' a visit. Recommend!
