The 9 Best Vaca Frita in Miami

"The saying “never judge a book by its cover" applies to Havana 1957 in every way, especially their vaca frita. You’ll see a lot of sunburnt tourists wearing Panama hats here, which isn’t usually a great sign. And the vaca frita looks like the sad tourist-trap variety that would usually startle an abuelita. But this place is actually one of the best Cuban restaurants in Miami, and the crucial charred bits of the vaca frita are hiding at the bottom. Mix it all up and enjoy your life lesson." - virginia otazo

The 19 Best Cuban Restaurants In Miami

"It’s not usually a good sign when you see tourists wearing Panama hats and awkwardly wielding cigars outside a Cuban restaurant. Expectations are even lower when that restaurant is in South Beach. But it turns out that Havana 1957 isn’t just popular because of its location on Española Way—the food here is very good. Service is fast and personable (unlike nearby tourist traps) and the mojitos are refreshing. You’ll find some other creative takes on Cuban food, like ropa vieja empanadas served with a sweet pepper sauce on the side. And although the vaca frita looks like the sad tourist-trap variety that would startle an abuelita, its taste would certainly make her happy. Just make sure to mix it up so it gets to know the vinegary onions. " - virginia otazo

Miami’s Best 11 Cuban Sandwiches | Eater Miami

"They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day so a pan con tortilla is the way to go. Havana 1957 steps it up by adding lechon (roasted pork), ham, cheese, and potato sticks to keep patrons full until lunchtime." - Stacy Moya

Stepping into Havana 1957 feels like traveling back in time to old Havana—complete with vintage décor, Cuban music, and an atmosphere full of charm. The star of the day was undoubtedly the Cuban Sampler. It’s the perfect way to taste a bit of everything: tender roasted pork, chicken, beef, sweet plantains, and more—all bursting with authentic flavor. Every bite felt like a celebration of Cuban culinary tradition. I also tried the Cuban Burger, and it was hands-down one of the most unique and delicious burgers I’ve had. It’s layered with juicy beef, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and that signature Cuban flair that makes it stand out from the usual fare. Whether you’re new to Cuban cuisine or a longtime fan, Havana 1957 delivers a memorable and satisfying experience.

Google
What a great find! Not sure why it only scores 4.4 stars. This is a fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing- just what we were after. Great priced drinks - half price until 7pm. If you want to try Cuban food, come here!

Havana 1975 on Lincoln Road is a great spot if you’re looking to enjoy classic Cuban flavors in a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere. The service is friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe matches perfectly with the Miami energy. The food is flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions and great seasoning. Cocktails are also a highlight — balanced, refreshing, and served promptly. Their happy hour is definitely worth checking out. Great deals on drinks and small bites make it an even better experience, especially if you’re just looking to unwind in the late afternoon. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch, dinner, or drinks, it’s a solid choice on Lincoln Road. Highly recommended.

As a Cuban originally from Miami, I have to say—I was extremely impressed! Today I ate here and truly felt like I was back home. Romel was amazing—his customer service was outstanding, and his recommendations were on point. It was such a pleasure to receive suggestions from a fellow Cuban who clearly knows and loves our culture. The flavors were authentic and comforting—just like home. The ambiance was lively and full of soul, with great music and iconic Cuban photos all over the walls, including El Caballero de París and Hatuey—such a beautiful and nostalgic touch. Ironically, there’s another Cuban restaurant right across the street (La Mulata), but the flavors there just didn’t hit the mark the way they did here. This place truly stood out in every way. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Google
Amazing food! Amazing host! Alberto, our server was exceptional. He recommended the most favorite dishes from the restaurant and the appetizer as well which was the pork belly with guacamole and plantain chips. Delicious! The best part of our visit was the dance! It was the cutest thing ever. All servers even the person seating guests and the person cleaning tables stopped what they were doing to do their dance. Never experienced this type of experience ever. Would definitely recommend to everyone visiting miami beach!

Google
AMAZING RESTAURANT!!! We absolutely loved this restaurant! Having lived in Cuba for two years before, I can tell you that this restaurant offers authentic and delicious Cuban cuisine, and we will absolutely be coming here again! The server was genuine and friendly, and helpfully steered us towards the happy hour drink specials. I had a couple of Hatuey beers, my wife had two pina coladas, and my daughter had two strawberry daiquiris. Nothing mind-blowing, but refreshing nonetheless. For appetizers, we had the truffle yuca fries and flank steak empanadas. The cilantro aïoli served with the truffle yuca fries was very tasty, as was the pineapple sweet sauce served with the empanadas. Both complemented their appetizers as well. The Cuban sampler included the 1957 chicken, which was a large portion, and well seasoned with slight citrusy flavor; the Ropa Vieja, which was spectacular and our favorite cuisine; the pork shoulder which was excellent; and delicious plaintains, beans, and rice, all of which were excellent. The Cuban sandwich was as good as any I’ve had before, and very enjoyable! We couldn’t eat dessert because we were all full, but they had very good choices, which I’m sure would have been amazing. My only complaint was that it was a little warmer and more humid than I would have preferred, but this likely added to the ambience… Our total was $246.33, which included the 20% automatically-added gratuity, which is unique to Miami. A bit pricey, but this is Miami, so we expected to pay more here than we normally would in another city. Overall, Havana 1957 is an excellent Cuban restaurant, with amazing food, great ambience and service. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Miami! We will definitely eat here again next time we come here! Well done Havana 1957!!!

We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and were seated right away. Our server, Laura greeted us with a smile and cold water. She was very knowledge in what I could safely eat from the menu that was gluten free. She recommended a Cuban beer to my husband, which he enjoyed. They also serve a classic mojito that is one of the best I've had. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Miami!

We had an amazing lunch here. All the food was fantastic and service was great. Their signature roast chicken is super flavorful and tender and the croquettes and mojitos are also top notch.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. The outdoor seating was great for people watching too. We enjoyed the sampler and dessert.

Yelp
Havana 1957 is a 10/10 experience. Thanks to our amazing server Maria Lourdes M. Her service/ recommendations were perfect. She is attentive, she does not breathe down your neck. She is friendly and greets all her customers with a smile and respect. I am a former server with 10+ years of experience and she truly impressed me. Her menu knowledge, timely service, and rapport wowed me. The amazing food solidified my experience. The ceviche was perfect, the mojitos were amazing, truly...NO NOTES!

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal authentic Cuban food. We celebrated our 7th anniversary here. We dined outside and started off with drinks, their classic Cuban Mojitos. Our flavor of choice was the Guava & Passionfruit. We skipped appetizers and went straight for the entrees. We ordered Vaca Frita De Pollo aka Shredded Crispy Chicken and Ropa Vieja aka Flank Steak Stew. Hubby's Vaca Frita De Pollo consisted of crispy griddled chicken topped with onions and Cuban mojo (citrus onion sauce) served with white rice & black beans. My Ropa Vieja consisted of braised and shredded stewed in homemade criolla tomato sauce served with white rice and black beans. Whenever I visit a Cuban spot I have to get the Ropa Vieja. It's an automatic choice for me and I'm never disappointed. Havana's ropa vieja hit its mark and then some! The meat was tender, juicy and mouth watering delicious. Hubby enjoyed his food as well. We also ordered a side of Truffle Yucca Fries and Sweet Plantains. I just know they had someone's 95 year old abuelita in the kitchen whipping out our phenomenal dishes.

Yelp
Havana 1957 is located on Ocean Beach near the Art Deco District. It is such a beautiful strip and vibe over here. Perfect for a stroll and adoring all of the beautiful architecture and decor around here and right across from the beach. We stopped by Havana 1957 for dinner after an afternoon walk down Ocean Drive. I wanted more Cuban food, so this was the perfect place. We were greeted immediately and sat inside. The restaurant has some beautiful decor and even section with instruments on display for a live band. I loved the fact that their paper placemat is a collage of the Cuban history and culture. I wanted to take one home but forgot. They have pretty good menu options. I wanted to try a little of everything, so we ordered the Cuban Combo, Cuban Sampler and Tropical Ceviche. Everything tasted SOOOO good. I mean, the ropa vieja, yucca fries, croquettes, sweet plantains, empanada, ceviche were all so delicious. The green sauce was so good too. I wish we had these back at home. The service here was amazing! Thank you to our server and staff who were very attentive and provided exceptional service. I would definitely return when I come back to Miami. Great food, service and overall experience.

Yelp
There are a couple of Havana 1957 locations in South Beach with this particular spot being at the corner of Espanola Way and Ocean Drive. As I walking down Ocean Drive, I was trying to find a spot where I could take in the Miami vibe, while also getting a taste of some quality Cuban food. A quick search on Yelp and a happened walk-by, and I found myself at Havana 1957! I was quickly welcomed in and sat on the covered patio. While the day was not blazing, it was a typical overcast day in Miami, so hot. I am usually not an outside sitter, but given the coverage, the fans and of course he people watching, I just had to today. Waitress came by and I tossed in a Mango Mojito to start while I browsed the menu. I knew I wanted either some form of Ropa Vieja and/or an empanada as part of my meal, and to my surprise they had Ropa Vieja Empanadas! The app came with two good sized, perfectly fried empanadas that were filled with shredded beef and sided with a sweet pineapple dipping sauce. The pineapple sauce was a bit thin, so I did not capture much while eating, but the steak and sauce in the empanadas was enough. For my main I decided to go with the Shredded Crispy Chicken with white rice and black beans. The chicken was crispy from being pan fried, while still juicy from the sizing of the pieces along with being topped with sliced onions and lightly covered in a citrus onion sauce. The white rice and black beans, while simple, were pure perfection. Getting a full bite of rice, beans, chicken and onion was delish! Keeping theme with great, service was stellar as well. My waitress was kind, accommodating, friendly and attentive. Hostesses were friendly and welcoming without being obnoxious on the sidewalk. As with most places on Ocean Drive, Havana 1957 has a clear Cuban vibe that can be felt through décor, lighting, art and furniture and also heard through the speakers playing traditional Cuban music inside and out. Overall, very happy I stumbled upon Havana 1957 on my last day in Miami. Enjoyed my time and meal, and of course that mango mojito!

Yelp
Wanted to get a fill of Cuban food while in Miami Beach, and this was one of the higher rated joints so checked it out. Location is right on Española Way so definitely for the tourist crowd. Vibe was cute and played on the Cuban feels. Ordered the famous set that came with a sampler of the chicken, the pernil, and the ropa vieja. Famous chicken was dry af. This was pretty bad. The other two were okay though definitely on the small side. Also got the lobster seafood stew. Pretty good, though not very generous serving wise considering the price. Overall, food was alright but definitely overpriced. They also automatically charge you 20% service charge. Touristy af and food is lackluster. Go elsewhere unless you just want the tourist vibes as you drink a mojito.

Yelp
Sadly, I didn't take pictures of my food. I pretty much inhaled it! We ordered crispy chicken with black beans and white rice. A side of plantains. Very delicious. They had a saxophone player outside playing to classic salsa beats. Wepa. I recommend this establishment.

Yelp
This visit has been a few for us each time visiting Miami. There's a few location in the surrounding area. Lincoln road, Espanola way (which is where we had dinner), ocean drive which I believe maybe two location down from each other. Espanola way, the place we've been to a few time has always been greats it does get quite busy as it's along restaurant alley line with different places to dine. Reservations do help as it could be a wait depending in time. Majority of the seating it's outside along the patio and sidewalk as well as smaller dining area inside. If you're seated along the sidewalk, heads up you will have pedestrian walking by. As well as the side of the patio along Espinosa way. Either way, it great people watching. Menu does offer a good selection of dishes. Everything was great. The fish paired with the sauce was great. The sampler plate, with the famous chicken, pork and beef served with two sides and plantain. Full of flavor and always delicious. The cocktails menu does have a lot of mix drinks option as well as wine. Heads up, most of the restaurants do already add a 20 percent service fee so be advised. We had an additional drink added to our bill and noticed it. The waiter did take off the item but when bill was paid, the 20 percent was still from the original bill.

Yelp
I don't know or care if this spot is a tourist trap. The food was DELICIOUS. And the service even better. There's plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. All the outdoor tables are shaded which is nice because it was hot ! I don't know if this is considered authentic Cuban food but my pork bowl was extremely flavorful. Shout out to our server Laura for being so kind & helpful.

Yelp
Late night eats did not fail! I enjoyed the cuban cuisine and loved being on ocean drive during the night! My drink could've had more liquor but this is also a personal choice. The chicken was soooo good and nice and moist just how it should be! I always love cuban food and I must say Havana 1957 did not fail me!

Yelp
Do not sit at the table in between the tree and the other tables bird plan to make it there mission to let it go there lol, what they let go landed on me twice so when I went inside it was to clean my arm not take photos of the ambiance. Our server David was awesome and helpful with giving us ideas on what to order. He was patient and not rushing us at all. He also was nice enough to move us to another table. The pollo my friend ordered was delicious and the grilled salmon I ordered was good but nothing wow about the sauce beneath it. The overall experience was good oh and the Shirley temple was blah.

Yelp
We sat down here before we realized it was a chain restaurant. It seems nice if you're looking for a kid-friendly experience, but to us the food was quite bland and unseasoned. Didn't hold a candle to any of the small restaurants we tried on our trip, but that's what you get on the extremely touristy and corporate Espanola way.

Yelp
Four of us had a nice Sunday evening dinner outside soaking up the Miami Beach vibe. Mojito drinkers voted it their favorite mojito of the trip. Food was good. The Cuban sandwich is giant and even Husband couldn't finish it. Two of us shared the Signature Roasted Chicken and the Seafood Stew. All very Cuban indeed. Wasn't as good as the lobster I actually had in Cuba, but it was good. Chicken moist, side dishes all good. Service was on point.

Yelp
Me and my husband were so looking forward to having Cuban food as soon as we got to Miami Beach we used to go to Versailles in the San Fernando Valley and we loved their garlic chicken, which happens to be that other Cuban restaurants so we thought we'd go check it out didn't disappoint The flavors that I liked, however I wasn't used to the true differences between one coast and the other, but I'm sure that it's just my pallet. Also, I could've had more sauce and it was missing the onions for me which might've been another dish but overall food was good. Ambience was excellent excellent and the company was great for tourist checking out Miami Beachon Española restaurant Road

Yelp
I realized after I got here that I've been here before. Kinda a touristy place (but then again, what isn't in this area). Food is good quality with interesting choices but the service is outstanding. Portions are large, outdoor seating, lively and buzzy. I was alone, but if I had guests with me next time in South Beach, I'd come back. Solid four stars.

Yelp
Came here at 9pm midweek and wasn't too busy, course who's REALLY eating dinner that late :) We were on vacation mode. When we got there, there was a family there having THE best time of their lives, dancing, and just bringing good energy, so we knew it would be a good meal. Drinks: I was going to go for a spicy guava margarita to start, but was told the mojitos are the way to go. Chose the passionfruit so it wouldn't be too sweet. It wasn't, but was still sweet imo. Starters: Empandas de ropa vieja (flank steak) - perfectly crispy with homemade dough - tender and flavorful meat that you can tell has been braised for a LONG time - could eat 10 of these as my meal Sampler: get it! great way to try all the things. the crispy yucca and potato ball with ground beef so good! and the tamal was moist! Ceviche Tropical: perfect amount of citrus to cook the snapper. The snapper had a slightttttt fishy taste in some bites, but overall was good . the yucca chips are a treat on their own! Main: Sampler, had pork, beef, chicken. I can't recall which cuts exactly BUT the braised beef was the best. The chicken was a little dry. Pork was ok but nothing to sing home about. Dessert: Tres Leches cake, not too sweet, and perfect with their cuban coffee. The coffee had this wonderful full bodied taste. Service: we had a GREAT server, Francisco, so nice! he made suggestions when he thought maybe what we were going to order was not the best choice. I appreciated that, even if some of them I didn't agree with. :) OH! and we took our leftovers home cuz omg so many, but they gave us a fresh container of beans. I'm guessing because end of the night too, but added bonus!! Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Yelp
The girlfriend and I stopped by to have dinner. I don't know what it was about this weekend, but we were hooked on Cuban food. We tried several Cuban sandwiches throughout the week but wanted an authentic dinner. We sat outside to people-watch and enjoy the fresh air. That's where we met Romel. Romel was our server and took outstanding care of us. This was one of the only times thus far that I was okay with the extra 20% gratuity being added to the bill. Plus, I gave a little extra because he truly exemplified excellent customer service. Now, on to the food. First, let me apologize as we went to this establishment in December 2023, so I can't remember the names of these dishes; I will try and list what we had. Regardless, they were so delicious. I hate we did not go back another night to try something else before we left Miami. For an appetizer, we had MASITAS DE CERDO (CUBAN FRIED PORK). It was tender and seasoned very well. The only disappointment was you only got like three pieces. The citrus onion sauce was out of this world. For my main course, I had LA ORQUESTA CUBANA CUBAN SAMPLER and my girlfriend had CAMARONES AL AJILLO GARLIC SHRIMP. I can't tell you how great this food was. The seasons are like nothing I've ever tasted before. I highly recommend you all check them out, and when you do, tell'em Drew sent ya! Yall be easy now! Drew

Yelp
Never disappoints. Took my friend, who has never been to Miami. The first thing on the list of things she must experience was eating at Havana 1957. We ordered Ropa Vieja, Vaca Frita, y Yuca, She loved the mariquitas (plantain chips) too.

Yelp
3.5 stars Conveniently located in south beach and easy access for tourists. We ordered the appetizer sampler and the entree sampler. The portion size was generous. On the sampler appetizer The yucca was breaded before it was fried- I haven't had it this way before but it was tasty. There were also yucca chips which tasted just like filler, no flavor, stale and definitely not what I expected. Croquettes were too salty. The other items were just ok and nothing to write home about. On the entree sampler the Ropa Vieja and Lechon were the highlight of the meal. Both flavorful and well done. I didn't like the chicken as the skin wasn't crispy and it just tasted. Service was ok, had to flag the waiter a few times but the person who took our order was knowledgeable at the beginning.

Yelp
I think I'm seeking the best stuffed tostones. They are not at this restaurant. We went for lunch with a friend from out of town. We were pretty quickly and given a container with fresh plantain chips. The good service ended there. Service was slow taking the orders, getting the food, no water refills, and getting the bill. My friend enjoyed his Cuban sandwich stuffed with ham, roast pork, and more. My daughter enjoyed her ropa vieja, shredded beef. My tostones rellenos, fried plantain cups with chicken or shrimp inside were oil and flavorless - much better with hot sauce. I do not recommend this dish of all three.

Yelp
I was SUPER excited to try some authentic Cuban food. We walked along the strip of restaurants and this super sweet hostess told us amazing things about the menu and was super sweet. When we sat it was super windy and cold and we asked if we could move instead to somewhere warmer, the service said no because she wouldn't be able to service us inside since it is far from her other tables, but they charge automatic gratuity so it shouldn't matter if we want to move in my opinion. So we stayed outside pretty cold; but they moved the heater close to us which was nice. We ordered waters and then our server kept pushing for us to get drinks and we did not get our waters until 40 minutes while waiting for our food. We decided to share a menu item since I can't each much and she seemed a little annoyed. Once our food arrived we were super excited because it smelled and looked delicious. The chicken was good but a little under cooked, the pork was very flavorful just took temperature which was a little frustrating since it took about an hour to get our food. The rice wasn't cooked all the way and had some hard bits but it would be because it's supposed to be mixed with beans and sauce to maybe make it soft? The beans were super delicious and full of flavor. That is a star itself for me because they tasted super fresh! The planteens were also really good as well. They had a good amount of flavor! I would say if you are going to charge a "service charge" then you should work on the service your staff provides because it was not welcoming at all. Other than the super sweet host.

Yelp
We made reservations for a Saturday night at 6:30pm and were seated immediately for a party of two. They have multiple locations across the greater Miami area. This location is on Main Street and has both inside and outside seating. The environment was very loud and busy but energetic and lively. We ordered the la orquesta cubana ($28) and the churrasco a la cubana ($38). We liked that the la orquesta cubana was a sampler of their meat offerings such as chicken, ropa vieja, and lechón. Our favorites were the ropa vieja and the lechón; the chicken was okay but not as good as the others. Even the rice and beans were flavorful. The skirt steak was really tender and went amazing with the salsa. For drinks we had the masters selection ($17) with zacapa 23 and was basically a glorified rum and coke. We also ordered the mango and passionfruit mojitos which were both really good and use fresh mangos and passionfruit. They weren't super sweet either and I definitely recommend getting them. Note that they automatically add a 20% service charge to your check which seems to be a very common occurrence for restaurants and bars in the area.

Yelp
We sat on the sidewalk in the busy and crowded South Beach scene. They accommodated a group of 15 very quickly. The food was really good, I had the Havana 1957 Pollo meal. Plantains so sweet, beens and rice cooked perfectly. The dark Eat chicken tasted very good, but the white meat chicken was a bit dry. We topped it off with Cuban coffee.

Yelp
I came here a few months ago but had to give a review for the impressive dinner my partner and I had! It was the perfect date spot with live music and dark, romantic latin lighting~ We got a sampler dish and one of the roasts, and the flavor was explosive! I highly recommend the sampler with various selections of meats.

Yelp
First time in Miami so I really wanted something authentic. I'm really not sure what could possibly be authentic to Miami so I settled for Cuban and landed at this little spot right off SoBe (look at me being a local!). The restaurant offers sidewalk, terrace and indoor seating. It was raining so we opted for the terrace. This offered amazing opportunities for people watching and they eventually broke out the heaters. The service was great, the waitress recommended the PinaColada and said it was the best in town and it's certainly the best one I have had in a long time. I kept it basic, got an order of empanadas which I regretted sharing. They were amazing!! There was some type of sweet dipping sauce that I'm not sure how to describe. It was delicious. I ultimately settled for a basic cubano which I've had better but it was good. It did take a long time for us to get food, so the sandwich wasn't warm by the time it arrived to the table. All in all, mostly restaurants in large cities have super crappy service, so I'm giving this place 5 stars, for allowing us in without a reservation and having great service!!

Yelp
We walked down Ocean Drive our first night and came across Havana. It had a nice aesthetic for their outdoor patio, and it wasn't too busy even during the spring break crowd, so we gave it a go. We ordered the Cuban Combo (sampler) as well as three other dishes to share. The combo was a good option so we got to try a little bit of everything (empanadas, croquettes, yucca chips, tamals, and papas. The avocado cilantro sauce they had was delicious! We ordered the Lechon Asado, Vaca Frita, and Cuban sandwich. The Lechon and Vaca Frita tasted so similar to the Philippine Lechon and Bistek, respectively, which I love! The Cuban wasn't quite what I expected. The meat was chopped and little more fatty than I would have liked. It also reminded me more of a Banh Mi. A photographer came around and took pictures of us, and my sister's bf ended up buying a couple of the pictures of both of us for our birthdays. Although the outdoor ambiance was very nice, the service didn't feel so great. It was okay initially, and then we felt a little forgotten about. We had to ask for water at least three times before an employee (not our server) got some for us. Maybe it was because we didn't have reservations? I don't know, but customer service is a huge aspect for me (and I get it... I used to waitress in the past too). On top of an automatic 20% gratuity added to our checks for our dinner, there was a tip requested of us as well. Maybe it's because of it being attached to a hotel; maybe because it was Spring Break. Regardless, if you're expecting that from guests, at least provide some excellent customer service, because that left us a little annoyed at even having wanted to try this place.

Yelp
The food and drink at this location was a bit disappointing. The Lincoln Road location is better. In general, after several visits, I've seen their Cuban sandwich go from the most amazing Cuban sandwich I've ever had to something almost unrecognizable, lacking taste and structure, and being watered down (like they no longer serve the sandwich with the thin crispy fries it used to come with and sandwich itself has gotten smaller and smaller). My strawberry mojito here was also awful, only tasted like syrup and was mostly ice. It wasn't even the same bold red color it was when I ordered it at the Lincoln Road location. Service was friendly and nice. And ambiance (outdoor seating) was also nice on Espaniola Way.

Yelp
Lovely breakfast. Sat outside in the shade and watched all the morning exercisers. I would go again!

Yelp
Anytime I'm visiting Miami, I always stop bye Havana 1957. The Espanola Way location is my favorite. I love walking around the area and eating outside. The interior decor has photos all on the walls of Cuban legends and it's like stepping into a vortex of Cuban culture. They have such a great location to people watch and shop after eating! Service is always great each time I go. The food comes really quickly after ordering. Everything tastes so fresh! Order the mojitos and thank me later! The fresh mint paired with the sugar cane is to die for. I also really love the ceviche, empanadas, and the sampler plate so you can try a bit of everything on the menu! The tres leches for dessert is chef's kiss! I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Today wasn't as good, we usually go to the one on Lincoln Road but today we decided to go to the one in española way and it wasn't so good , the food was really grease , the service was good but the lace was super extra hot , we could feel the A/C even sitting inside. Ambience was really good , great music and the tourist seam really happy.

Yelp
It's a cool location, but that's where the appeal ends. We ordered a cafe con leche, which had an excellent presentation and tasted good. Entrees were a Cubano sandwich (average taste, plenty of protein, nicely toasted bread) and the Ropa Vieja and eggs (beef and eggs were flavorless, heavy oil). Unfortunately, the highlight was the potatoes (crispy exterior, flavorful). It seems to be a Miami trend, including a 20% tip and not mentioning it. To make matters worse, they folded the bill purposely so you wouldn't see the included fee. The waiter was average at best.

Yelp
This was our first dinner in Miami and I wanted to do it up right. Made reservations (7pm) for our family of four and so glad I did as there was a wait. We were seated promptly outside and it was a beautiful night. Our server was friendly and it was great people watching. What we swallowed: *MANGO MOJITO and COCONUT MOJITOS: These were terrific. I could have drank these by the barrel. I enjoyed the mango ones a little more then the coconut one but they were both really good. Not too sweet, just perfect. The sugar cane was pulling at my nostalgic heart strings. *CUBAN FRIED PORK appetizer: We loved these, my daughter loved these. These were bursting with lime flavor. She ordered 2 more plates, at that point we could have just ordered her a meal. (This meal has changed her life in such a way that now she eats E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G with a lime squeeze on it). *YUCCA FRIES: The truffle on this just does it. *CROQUETTES: Crispy outside, soft on the inside.. and the parm cheese. Just so yummy. *GRILLED FISH: Kept so simple yet full of flavor, I believe it was on a squash puree with the most delicious side of plantains. Yum. This was a great restaurant and live it to every bit of the hype. The food was delicious, the vibe was great, people watching was awesome, our server was fun and the bartender in the back even gave my daughters extra canes of sugar. We loved every minute.

Yelp
When in Miami a must is Cuban food. This place will not disappoint for authentic Cuban food. We started with two margaritas with anejo tequila - the pour is good but the drink wasn't strong at all. We ordered the beef empanadas - DELICIOUS!!! For our meal we ordered the seafood dish and pork dish - it was just okay, not good or nasty but just okay. The service was average. We sat outside, so it gave a Miami feel. For a quick cheap bite, I recommend this place

Yelp
A popular Cuban restaurant. The service is welcoming and energetic. The place gets busy/crowded fast but they don't rush you. We had a large party of 12, and we were seated right away. We all enjoyed the mojito pitchers as well as the sangria ones. The portions of food are huge and filling. One of my friends got a Cuban burger and it was bigger than the size of her 2 hands. Overall we had a good experience!

Yelp
We had some of this Cuban cuisine for lunch yesterday. I am still processing how delicious it was. Like, I keep thinking about it. We got the fried pork chunks. It was served in this little grill which was, I'll say, ridiculous. Just table clutter. But I don't care! The pork was really good. It came with rice blackened with seasoning and black beans - really good. And the yucca - ohmygawd. It was stewed down, succulent and savory. That is what I keep thinking about it was so good. All of it covered with softened onions which I really like. Do try, it was amazing. But hey - I just checked their menu online. Truffle yucca fries. Why did I ever leave?!?

Yelp
Wow! There are few restaurants that get me as excited as Havana 1957! Dining outside in the evening was one of the most memorable experiences I've had in Miami Beach. The authentic food is absolutely outstanding, and the setting on Española Way will transport you right back to Havana, Cuba in 1957! Must go, bucket list when you're in Miami.

Yelp
If you want some authentic vibes, good food, and spectacular service definitely come and check this place out. I will definitely be back here again for a passion fruit mojito, chicken tostones, and the tradition chicken stew dish. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Yelp
Had a great lunch here after touring south beach. Food was delish and service was on point. We were seated immediately and our server was kind and attentive. The restaurant is in a great location off Washington, good space inside and out with many pics on the wall. I recommend!

Yelp
Such amazing and great service to start. They were friendly and inviting and keep the drinks coming. The food was so delicious. The chicken was just falling off the bone, the sides that went with it were extremely flavorful and the Cubano sandwich was melt in your mouth bites of heaven. Highly recommend

Yelp
Being my first visit to Miami, the vibe of the Cuban ambiance, live music and food is what caught my attention. Unfortunately, I found the hostess to be rude in his welcoming. Yet , I still stayed to experience the food. My service with the waiter was pleasant, attentive but, not overbearing. I ordered the Pollo Havana , which was one of the best meals I had in my visit to FL. The meal hit every palate. Above all the ambiance and delicious food was exemplary . Not sure , I will return here on my next visit tho, unless there is a new hostess.... Visit on 3/28/2024

Yelp
Very cute bistro-style restaurant with a wide menu and lots of drink options. I ordered a super mojito and the Pollo Havana. Drink was made perfectly and the food came out very quickly. It was delicious and a very generous portion. The bartender was very nice and I enjoyed practicing a little Spanish with him. Great option for Cuban food in South Beach.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped through Miami for a night and wanted to make sure we got some Cuban food... this place did not disappoint! There were tons of mojito flavors to choose from and they were both huge and delicious! We got the sampler plate to try a bit if everything; it was very good but a little too much fried food in one sitting for me. My husband also loved his cubano. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and the wait staff was super nice. Only pain point was that the table was small and we were a little crammed, but that wouldn't prevent us from going back if in the area again.

Yelp
Nice spot at the beginning of espanola way. They have many options and variety of mojitos. The portion was smaller than anticipated given the price but tasty. Service was nice and they have both an outdoor and inside area which is nicely decorated.

Yelp
Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine in Española Way is a popular Cuban Spot in this part of Miami Beach. They serve traditional Cuban food and drinks. We started with the Ceviche Tropical which is fresh Florida Snapper with tomatoes, cucumber, onion, tomato, cilantro and pepper sauce, served with Yuca Chips. We had the Churrasco a la Cubana as my entree sarved with white rice and black beans, and the Camarones Al Ajillo, which is shrimps sauteed in garlic, olive oil and white wine, served with white rice and plantains. They were so good! We got so full so we didn't try any dessert. Service was excellent as the servers were attentive and friendly. A must try!

Yelp
Went to this restaurant craving for some Cuban food. The place is at the start of an alley full of different restaurants and bars. You don't have to wait for long to get a table, and the environment is nice where you can watch everyone walking through. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and so many options on the menu. This restaurant has great vibes if you want to experience some Cuban flavor.

Yelp
A nice bar on the corner of Espanola Way in Miami Beach. The bar area was a bit small and it seems to get very popular/crowded, with a decent amount of outdoor seating. Service was friendly and the drinks were great, with a good and varied selection.

Yelp
Make reservations in advance, if you can or the wait may be long. Tried the recommended dish and it as just OK. My friend loved the black beans and the sandwich. Drinks were strong and service was friendly.
