The Best Coffee Shops in West Palm Beach | Eater Miami

"Before Subculture and all the coffee shops that followed in its wake, there was Havana. Open since 1993, Havana is a little bit south of downtown West Palm Beach on Dixie but worth the drive. Walk up to its 24-hour window for a cafe con leche or cortadito. Also sold at the window are Cuban pastries, sandwiches, and a small selection of fresh juices. While Havana Restaurant also offers an inside dining room, life happens at the walk-up window. It’s an experience not to be missed." - J. Miller

A family‑run Cuban institution famed for its 24‑hour ventanita and generous plates. Frequently praised by Southern Living and local critics, it’s the late‑night heartbeat of West Palm’s cafecito culture.

I recently visited Havana Restaurant in West Palm Beach and had a mixed but mostly positive experience. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, truly giving a taste of Cuban culture with its décor and vibrant energy. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the meal even more enjoyable. We started with some drinks, and I have to say, they were excellent. The cocktails were well-crafted and refreshing, perfectly complementing the Cuban flavors we were about to enjoy. When it came to the food, the fish dish we ordered stood out as a highlight. It was cooked perfectly — tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. It definitely felt fresh and authentic, capturing the essence of Cuban seafood. However, the chicken dish was a bit of a letdown for us. The texture was somewhat dry, and the seasoning didn’t quite hit the mark. It lacked the bold, vibrant flavors we were expecting, especially compared to the other dishes. Unfortunately, it didn’t leave us wanting more. Overall, Havana Restaurant offers a great experience with some standout items, particularly their seafood and drinks. While the chicken wasn’t our favorite, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives, and we’d consider returning to try other dishes on their extensive menu.

If you’re looking for a sign to dine at Havana Restaurant, this is it. As soon as we walked in, we were treated like family, and truly felt special throughout the whole experience. You can really feel the love these people put not only in the food, but in the atmosphere as well. Our waitress, Nohemy, was such a pleasure and made the best recommendations. As for food, it was incredibly fresh, flavorful and unbelievably authentic. I’ve never tasted anything like it, especially the desserts! This family restaurant has been around for 25+ years and you can really tell by the quality of their food and service. With all that said, this place is a WPB staple and you have to check it out!

Google
We came off of I 95 looking for a place to eat, I seen Havana had really good reviews & ratings so decided to try it out myself along with my son and mother who was with me. The atmosphere was lovely, food was good, and our server Andrew was very patient, kind, & knowledgeable of everything that was on the menu. We did not have to wait long at all for our food. We definitely will be back.

Google
Great steak and empanada sampler. Service was great. Parking was tight but we got lucky. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

Google
This place was really great. The food was very tasty. Mojo sauce was excellent. They have a full authentic look to their restaurant. All the servers were really great. The food was phenomenal.

Google
Good food, great service and nice atmosphere. Everything looked good and tasted great minus a breaded chicken breast we ordered, it was like leather inedible. I would comeback for sure but stay clear of that particular dish. The restaurant is close to A1 and in a corner so it gets really busy.

Google
Great little Cuban joint with authentic food and solid service. Was suprised they didnt have a bar and couldnt get a mojito with the meal, but the sangria and guava juice was fine. Churasco steak and roast pork was cooked very nicely. Everything was flavorful and had good portions. The fried plantains were delicious and rice and beans were great. Would visit again if we were in the mood for cuban without the hankering for a mojito. It was only slightly dissapointing, but everything else made up for it.

Google
Very Impressed I was craving a good Cuban Café con Leche and buttered toast (tostada), and I must say—this was the best I’ve had in a long time! The coffee was rich and smooth, and the toast was perfectly buttery and crisp. Despite a line of about 10–15 people at the window during the morning rush, the service was fantastic. The staff kept things moving quickly and served everyone with a smile. My order came out fast, hot, and delicious. The prices are very reasonable, and the place is impressively clean. I’m already planning to come back this weekend to try their oxtail it looks amazing! Highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re looking for great Cuban comfort food and top-notch service.

Yelp
Ahh. My infinite quest to find The Perfect Cuban Sandwich..... has ended here. HAVANA RESTAURANT HAS THE BEST CUBAN SANDWICH IN PALM BEACH. Reason I know this to be true: My brother, my fiance and myself did a controlled experiment.. a 'Cuban-Off' if you will. Other cubans acquired from food trucks, holes in the wall, Buccan, you name it... if it claimed to be Cuban, we got it & tried it. ALL ROADS LEAD BACK TO HAVANA RESTAURANT! GET A CUBAN SANDWICH NOW, THANK ME LATER. WINK.

Yelp
Havana Club on Forest Hill Blvd & S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, offers a vibrant escape with its Cuban-inspired decor and family atmosphere. After a long day of studying, stepping into this restaurant felt like a warm hug. The restaurant opened at 5:00PM. My friend and I got there about 4:50PM, so we waited until then. When they opened the doors we were seated right away. We had an older gentleman serve us and he was the nicest waiter we could have asked for. My only con was he spoke mostly Spanish. Thankfully, my friend's first language is Spanish so she was definitely a big help in that department. Bringing the menu to us so we can navigate and figure out what we want, he brought back some warm garlic bread for us to munch on at the table. It was GREAT!! We both ordered the "Bistec de palomilla", a tender, marinated flank steak perfectly grilled, served with yellow/white rice which I picked yellow rice, black beans and plantains that complemented the meat beautifully. The freshness of the dish was accentuated by the bright, zesty flavors. Paired with their 100% mango juice, lightly iced, the drink was a refreshing delight, bursting with sweetness and a hint of tartness. Each bite and sip made me feel revitalized, transforming my tiring day into a flavorful, memorable experience. 10/10

Yelp
OBSESSED is an understatement! This local spot has been our favorite Cuban Restaurant since they opened! Their walk-up window that is open 24 / 7 is a life saver. We take morning walks here to grab a coffee & some breakfast. Their staff is always so sweet & welcoming, which makes us excited to go every time! Whether you're ordering one of their delectable pastries, a classic cuban sandwich, plantains, etc. you cannot go wrong! If you haven't had Havana yet...what are you doing?!

Yelp
They never disappoint, I have never gone in and eaten I always order from the window but they staff is always super nice, I usually get either empanadas or pastries, my favorite is their tres leches! I'd definitely recommend people to try this place out!
google avatar

Lilly M.

Yelp
Good food and excellent coffee. The oxtail was super tender and flavorful. Empanadas were good too. Loved all the garlic in the sauces! There's a sizable lot just south of the building plus overflow parking one block over.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch while visiting West Palm Beach for work and while I was a little disappointed that there no indoor seating during daytime hours (and it was raining), we ordered at the walk up window and grabbed some food because we were starving. My sister and niece ordered some empanadas and papa rellena and they seemed very pleased with their options. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and the bread was toasted perfectly, the acidity of the pickles and mustard balanced the richness of the ham and roasted pork and it was lovely. I do wish the pork had a bit more flavor but overall it was still a great sandwich and I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Veronica T.

Yelp
The service is fast and the staff is friendly. I only had a Cuban sandwich, but it was delicious. I also had Cuban coffee which was traditional and yummy. The restaurant is casual, but it is only open at night, but you can pick up food 24 hours a day.
google avatar

Evelyn P.

Yelp
It was nice to find an open restaurant (even if it's just a window) at midnight. We were starving driving down from Orlando. This place was exactly what we wanted. The beef empanadas are deliciously stuffed with lots of beef and thin crust. Well seasoned! Did I already mentioned stuffed with lots of beef. We should have ordered 10 for 2. The Cuban sandwich was good on the amount of meat and flavor but they should have left the sandwich in the toaster longer or have the pork warmed up since it felt cold in the middle. The stuffed potatoe was a well proportioned size with a good amount of beef! Which is nice to see so you don't feel like all you are eating is mash potato. Great place to grab something quick to eat and it's open 24/7!

Yelp
Tell me you're taking advantage of your patrons without telling me you're taking advantage. * Specials are not posted with prices. *Waiter pushes so hard for expanding his final check you almost fall off your chair *ALL tickets are handwritten, no computerized POS system at all (for a restaurant that makes $$$$ but yet can't afford to invest ??) * When the credit card is charged, we notice it doesn't match the handwritten mess of our 'bill' yet conveniently the original is no longer in the sleeve to reconcile it. *When we asked waiter where original bill was, he leans down and in face says... why? Then after telling him the total of the original bill and credit card receipt don't match he shares we've been charged the 3% 'fee' for not paying cash (SO TIRED OF THIS being hidden in .04 font on the menu so you'd never ever see it in a million years! ). If you're going to be BOLD enough to use these ways to squeeze even more you're already squeezing from your patrons then BE BOLD enough to be HONEST.

Yelp
Service is impeccable here. We were seated in the lively downstairs dining area. We always order mini empanada sampler and they never disappoint! Hubby and I vowed to each try something we have never ordered. I ordered Lechon Asado con Cebolla, he ordered TIRAS DE POLLO ESTILO Cubano. Both of us orders fried plantains and rice. The empanada sampler came swiftly and served with chimichurri. Wow delish and no surprise since they are famous for these. Our entrees came a little bit after we finished the starters and we were delighted! My pork was pulled and fork tender. So juicy! Hubbys chicken was tasty and tender. We agreed we would definitely get these again. Our server was very attentive and friendly offering suggestions to complement our meal. This is one of our favorite restaurants and I highly encourage you to go!
google avatar

Christina D.

Yelp
This place has great reviews but I was disappointed. The inside was closed, to go orders only when I visited. The empanadas are worth every cent but the meals were pricey and slightly overrated. Food tasted really good but very salty, not as authentic as some Miami spots. My recommendation: pick up the delicious empanadas but don't go for dinner!

Allison W.

Yelp
We got the classic Cuban sandwich as well as the pollo sandwich. The Cuban wasn't even warm. It was so bland and unimpressive. We will never come back. Do not recommend. This is not authentic and the coffee was burning hot. Horrible experience.

Jahnice C.

Yelp
I gave it a 1 start cause I have to in order to do this review.. it doesn't deserve 1star.. it was the Ultimate disappointment , my husband was very enthusiastic to try this place because it has such high ratings, however, the food we had was awful. The Croqueta sandwich was not hot It was lukewarm, Croqueta was raw the and the cheese not melted ham was cold. We also ordered a tostada with ham and cheese, and as you can see in the pictures, cheese was not melted, ham was cold, bread tasted old. We ordered a cafe con leche and, that was basically hot milk with a bit of coffee was really watered down, not Cuban at all!! To top it off the service was awful, one of the cashiers was talking to another person about cesarean sections and surgeries, took her 10 minutes to acknowledge us, then she was not paying attention to what we were ordering because she was too busy talking to that other person. The other girl there literally gave me a dirty look and left. Once we got the food obviously as you read above it was extremely disappointing, but we brushed it off and we kept going hoping the food would compensate the awful service, which obviously it did not!! The ambience I did not like it's in a corner cafeteria style, which is OK and there's a lot of those in Miami, however, is in a very busy street/intersection and didn't feel safe being there to be honest as too much traffic going around too much going on. I feel like it's a dangerous spot to have a cafeteria. Now to top off my visit there not sure if the cheese or the milk or the ham or the bread or whatever it was made me sick, but I was vomiting about an hour later and diarrhea so I would not recommend this place at all. With so many different places in South Florida do your homework and if the place looks iffy, don't eat there. I was skeptical about it, but my husband wanted to try it and I ended up getting sick. It just didn't look clean to me at all.
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
We stopped by the window to pick up a Cuban sandwich and decided to try the empanadas. Both were really delicious. We went back to grab more empanadas before we left so we could have some later. They were just as good heated up in the microwave as they were fresh.
google avatar

Kim L.

Yelp
Always always good like really good. Never had a bad meal since I was younger after the club the Cuban sandwiches is the best in town, been a loyal customer and will continue to support this fine establishment!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Cuban food, tasty drinks, and reasonable prices in a location with white tablecloths and vested servers. I enjoyed picadillo and my friends had other Cuban favorites.
google avatar

Yelp
Tonight we ate at Havana for the first time. The food was delicious. My husband had a favorite Cuban pork dish. I had a whole fried snapper. It was a challenge to eat but yummy, I also had to try the flan for dessert. We enjoyed our meal.

Yelp
Terrible Cuban food. This place was excellent years ago but now is terrible. I ordered a Pan con lechón (pork sandwich) it had a pieces of bone in it. Luckily I didn't swallow and choke on them. The taste was terrible strange seasoning. I'm Cuban I know what a pan con lechón should taste like. I called in and spoke to the manager and she could care less. Doesn't seem like they do any quality control on the food or service. It's a shame they claim "Best Cuban food in town" False advertisement.
google avatar

Edward B.

Yelp
Best Cuban food in West Palm Beach. A staple that has been there since we moved to the area in the 1980s. Great for lunch, diner or to hit the to-go window for a pastry and Cuban coffee. Friendly staff and festive atmosphere.

Yelp
Don't forget to stop by Havana while in Palm Beach and pick up a real Cuban coffee and authentic Cuban cuisine ! The service is always great and if you have never experienced Cuban cuisine they will help guide you. It's so cute, quaint and Cuban themed - everything is freshly made and tasty !
google avatar

Peter F.

Yelp
Yellow rice and caffès con Leche. Palimilla steak cooked just so and pasteles de tres leches. We discovered today that the newly expanded restaurant is expanded in name only since the main dining room is closed during the heat of the day. Takeout window only! Garlic and Lime wedges complete the taste sensation!

Yelp
Havana is a treasure that consistently delivers a well-rounded dining experience. One of the most endearing features is its iconic 24-hour walk-up window located at the intersection of Dixie and Forest Hill. This feature, unique to Havana, is always teeming with eager customers. The sight of this bustling window, day or night, is enough to bring joy to anyone passing by. Though, if you're not passing by but waiting in line, you won't find joy in how long you may need to wait. But the delights of Havana extend beyond this walk-up window. Their catering services are perfect for our large family gatherings. The team at Havana has consistently impressed us with their care, attention to detail, and, of course, their mouth-watering food. On one of our catering orders, there was a small error in what we received. When we called Havana, they issued us a credit right over the phone, no questions asked. The sign of great customer service is not never making a mistake but how you recover when mistakes inevitably happen. Havana passed with flying colors! One of the standout dishes that I highly recommend is their sweet plantains. These are a must-try for anyone new to Havana's cuisine. The plantains are perfectly cooked, with a delicate balance of sweetness that complements their main dishes beautifully. A word of advice for those planning to order, especially if you get these as part of a catering order--don't underestimate their allure. They are so delicious that you'll find yourself wanting more than you initially thought. Trust me on this one!

Yelp
We had a surprisingly good meal at Havana Restaurant. The menu was broad and deep. Everyone in our group had something different, from the "Roz con Pollo" to the "Palomilla." Everything was perfectly cooked and the portions were large. The Cuban nachos were outstanding (just like well topped nachos, but on plantain chips instead of tortilla chips). We even had dessert- the Tres Leches was rich and flavorful, although the cake was a bit firm. There was a nice selection of wines, but the homemade Sangria, by the pitcher, was great - plenty of fruit and not too much ice. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. There was one error in the side dishes, which he fixed immediately. There was a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. Finally, the dining room was quite attractive.

Yelp
Good Cuban food. Great service Had the Cuban sandwich which is done to perfection. The red sangria is delicious I have never had a bad meal or experience here highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
Dear Havana Restaurant Staff, My deepest gratitude goes to the wonderful staff at Havana Restaurant! Yesterday, I carelessly left my bag containing my purse, passport, and phone at your establishment. Thankfully, upon realizing my mistake hours later (being from Brandon, 3 hours away!), I was immensely relieved to learn a kind server had found it. Even more impressive, your manager went above and beyond to secure it safely. Your honesty and diligence brought me immense peace of mind, and I sincerely appreciate your exceptional service. Please extend my thanks to the server who initially found my bag and to the manager who ensured its safekeeping. Thank you again for making my day with your incredible kindness. You are a true asset to Havana Restaurant, and I will definitely recommend you to others! Sincerely, Chloe Xu

Yelp
This place is fantastic for late night eats and I haven't had a chance to go during the day yet when visiting from out of town. Black bean soup was just ok, nothing set it apart and I dont think I would order it again. Cuban sandwich was stacked well with meat but it could have been pressed a bit better. Plantain chips were great so definitely grab those. Wait staff was super friendly as well
google avatar

Andrew W.

Yelp
Wow, stopped by the outside window last night for 2 cups of cafe cubano and 2 flan. $30 for what I thought would be about $12-15. Shocked. And the flan was way too firm and most likely shipped in from elsewhere. Coffee was very good.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
A definite stop for real Cuban cuisine! From the host to the wait staff, everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Forgot to take a pic of the tres leches which is to die for!

Juan L.

Yelp
At Speedy Rooter Inc., we recently partnered with Havana to cater a luncheon for the Maintenance and Plant Operations employees of the School District of Palm Beach County. Havana flawlessly served over 500 employees, and the food was outstanding. This is our second year working with them, and once again, the feedback was nothing but positive. The menu included roast pork, white rice, black beans, plantains, yuca, and excellent bread--everything was delicious. If you're considering catering, I highly recommend reaching out to Margarita at Havana; she will ensure everything is handled with care and excellence.

Yelp
Ambiance (4/5): There's a pickup window for takeout orders and you can also buy something to munch on while you wait too. We had to wait around 20mins for our party of 6. Large establishment and super busy! The aroma of garlic will get you riled if you arrive hungry! Service (3/5): The hostess and wait staff were friendly. The restaurant is very busy and understand that they are probably under-staffed. We had to ask for the garlic bread for the table twice and didn't get it until after the appetizer was provided. It also took a while to get our order in but we were impressed that he got everything right. There will be a ton of dishes/sides with your orders. Food (4/5): Mariquita Especial (4/5): Super tasty mix on top of a bed of fried and crunchy plantains. Although the description said there was meat in it, we all collectively thought that it was missing. The side of garlic oil was a good complement. Sopa De Frijoles Negros (2/5): Literally a bowl of black beans that has a little bit of liquid in it. I'm not sure if there was any difference in this dish and the side of beans. Bistec Especial Havana (5/5): The day's special also included a few shrimp pieces. The steak is seasoned very well and cooked to a tender perfection. Lechon Asado Con Cebolla (3/5): It had a great flavor but nothing special with this dish of pulled pork. Fricasé De Pollo (3/5): Perhaps it was not my favorite flavor. Chicken cooked a little dry. Rabo Encendido En Salsa De Vino Rojo (4/5): The oxtail was super tender and flavorful! I enjoyed my dish but didn't love the red wine sauce, perhaps too tart. Sides: Seriously every side was delicious (yellow rice, plantains, beans, mixed bean/rice, etc.) however I did not love the boiled canvasses which had a plop of garlic that was too over-powering. Café con leche (4/5): Award-winning coffee! It comes sweetened and too much so for my taste but overall it tasted really good!

Yelp
We stopped by because it was ranked well for Cuban food but no inside seating was available so we had to pass.

Future HR L.

Yelp
This is the second time I visit and get served by the same server Nicky. I do not understand why someone will be a server if they do not have the passion for it. Other servers, the people bringing the food and others are very helpful and nice. My dish was delicious but this server should retire or find a job that he really enjoys. Servers in the US work for tips and other countries where do not expect tips, provide 10 times better service.
google avatar

Renee F.

Yelp
The food was authentic and delicious. The service was impeccable and I love the sidewalk sales The garlic bread they served pre meal was so good!!!
google avatar

Veronica B.

Yelp
This place is beautiful, the service is great. The food is overrated. The food was very bland. I had a plate with three types of meat and I was not impressed. The meat and chicken was very dry and not seasoned. The pork meat was good and tender. Maybe it's the food I ordered or just not a good day. I did have a mango juice and it was good. The Cuban coffee was good. I paid about 60 dollars for one plate and drink.
google avatar

Jerome C.

Yelp
So many people have told me about this place. You drive-by there's people standing in line waiting for takeout orders. I had heard the Cuban sandwich was supposed to be fantastic. Sadly, the Cubano was just OK. The bread wasn't even toasted. I mean don't get me wrong, it was fine but nothing special.
google avatar

Mia T.

Yelp
I don't know what happened to the. Cuban food here in Florida it used to be so good.. the tres leche was good ..but not the best it was just okay But the sandwich was just mediocre.. dry and lacked flavor .. guava /cheese pastry crust didn't have the light filo crust flake it was flat piece of pastry was so stiff hard .. didn't have the sweet taste of guava and the empanadas so disappointed .. dry lacked airy flaky crust .. nothing tasted fresh or had any flavor ..

Doc S.

Yelp
Very disappointed that I was served not hot white rice, not hot black beans, not hot plantains, and every thing else. not hot. server did not come over to check to see if everything was alright, despite the face that he stood 10 feet from my table most of the time. to pay the check, the items were scribbled on a piece of paper, when I asked for a receipt the server said I could take a picture of the receipt, which I did. Very high prices for food that is not even par. There were charges on my bill that were over and above the food charges. There were additional issues with my dining experience here, of which I will not list, but wanted to give people an opportunity to be warned that this is not a place that cares much about their customer. What a shame after so many years in business that a restaurant cannot get it together. I will not be stopping at this restaurant again to eat.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Can't comment on the food because the wait was so long I just left. An hour to get food at the take out window. Someone else wanted to cancel too. And it wasn't even busy. Bad operation
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Came up to the little window to order some things from the hot case. Ordered 8 croquettes de hamon & a beef ball. All tasted fresh and yummy! Took it to go. There is outside seating if you wanted to sit down and eat what you bought afterwards! Parking is located around the back.
google avatar

Liza M.

Yelp
We were visiting and staying not too far from the restaurant. We ordered several meals from there and would have loved to go for dinner without the kiddos if we could have swung it! I grew up eating delicious Cuban food from my Cuban grandfather and it was just so reminiscent and brought back so many good memories. Everything tasted flavorful and had decent portions. The only drawback is that a part of our order didn't get included when we picked up the food and we were back home before we realized. Mistakes happen though! All in all, it is delicious food and worth it!
google avatar

Arely C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed dining in. I had a Cuban sandwich, maduros along with a beer. The waitress was super sweet and attentive even though they got busy around 6pm. During dinner time it does get a little more loud but nothing outrageous. Cuban sandwich although it's simple it's full of flavor. Maduros well of course they were sweet and delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I was extremely disappointed in my "arroz con pollo" I guess I was expecting the chicken to be shredded in the mix. You get 2 large pieces of chicken with the bone & skin. As for the taste it was like they say "it was aight". My kids sandwiches were very dry. Wouldn't dine here again. Service was nice but food just didn't meet our expectations

Carls P.

Yelp
Hi, so let's talk about the 24 hour window. While you're waiting in line, there's no menu to look at. This means that when a customer finally makes it to the window, everyone behind him gets to wait while he takes his sweet time being picky about what he's going to order. What a waste of time. So when you finally make your way to the window, you're going to pay $40 for two sandwiches, a pastry, a coffee and a tip. Wouldn't be so bad if the food was good and the sandwiches were big, but it's the opposite. Lots of salt, cheap ingredients, definitely won't go back

Tania M.

Yelp
Delicious croquetas, empanadas, and garlic bread for starters. Red beans and rice were cooked perfectly and seasoned just like homemade. Roja Vieja was amazing. The cafecito is definitely the best in town Highly recommend coming here for your Cuban food fix. The service was on point by the time I wanted more to drink it was already in my glass. The ambiance was very pleasant lots of celebrity pics on the wall. I felt like VIP

Yelp
A colleague and I were both craving some authentic Cuban food, so we decided to visit Havana early one Friday afternoon.  Despite the fact that the hours on Yelp were shown as "Open 24 hours", when we arrived at 4pm we found that while the takeout window was open, then dining room was closed until 5pm. Tip: While the restaurant is open 24 by 7 for takeout orders at the takeout window, the indoor dining room isn't open all the time.  If you want to eat inside, you should check with Havana to find out the dining room hours on the day you'd like to visit. We were both really hungry, and the reviews for Havana excellent, so we ordered dinner from the takeout window and then sat down to eat at one of the outdoor tables on the sidewalk.  We ordered the Arroz con Pollo and the Ropa Vieja, and shared both entrées "family style".  After a short wait we went to the window to pickup our food, and I was amazed at how HUGE the portion sizes were - each order could easily feed two or three people; even better - the prices were surprisingly low, especially given the large portion sizes. The flavor profile and textures of both dishes were excellent, and we throughly enjoyed our meal.  That said, the unquestionable star of the meal was the Ropa Vieja (shredded beef and Churrasco steak).  The meat is wonderfully tender and served in a generous quantity of their special sauce - Havana's version of the dish totally delicious - my favorite thus far in Florida! To sum it all up - the staffers working the takeout window were super friendly, patient with our questions, and very helpful; the food was amazing, with exceptionally large portion sizes and very reasonable prices.  I look forward to returning to try more of their dishes; I'll make a point of timing my next visit so we can enjoy their indoor dining experience too :-)

Yelp
The food wasn't what we expected from a Cuban restaurant. I had the vaca frita which was ok. My husband had steak with sautéed onions on top, it wasn't the best choice. Our daughter had a steak sandwich which she happily liked. I think you're better off just getting the sandwiches there. The empanada was ok, chicken inside was very dry. It was very simple and under seasoned. The service was great and the ambiance was actually nice.

Yelp
I've been here many times and the food is always good. Today will be my last day coming to eat here and I will tell you why. First off I always get the same thing Cuban sandwich, empanada, potato ball, and a coke and ALWAYS about $21 and some change. Today the lady charged me over $25 now I admit I paid not realizing what I just did, call it muscle memory or what not. When I told her that she overcharged me she told me "Oh the machine adds 3%???? Huh!!! What do you mean 3%? Even if it did that does not equate to $4 on a $20 sale. Either they are overcharging for a tip and not saying anything, don't know what they are doing, or the company is stealing money from their customers. Either way STAY AWAY from this place, anyplace that steals is no place I will give my time or money. I just left without saying a word because I seen in her eyes she felt like she got caught doing something wrong. There are other great Cuban restaurants around.

Yelp
I recently stopped by Havana again, and ran into an awesome Elite! Always nice to run into people in real life. Thank you Havana for bringing friends together. I was "standing on the corner with a nickel and a dime" (please comment if you recognize this song line!), using Havan's iconic corner window. You can't drive down Dixie HIghway without passing the corner takeout line! I could not JUST order a sandwich; no, I could never leave it at that. I had to order a beef empanada, a rice ball and some tres leches cake too. Why not? All my favorites in one paper bag. This was my first time ordering a sandwich from here. My friend got the Pan con bistec, and I ordered the Pan con minute, which is described as: lightly battered fish, fried golden brown, topped with lettuce, tomato, raw onions and delicious tartar sauce on hot-pressed cuban bread. The impressive thing about this sandwich was that it was tightly wrapped in paper and actually held together for this reason. I ate this on the beach, and it did not fall apart, incredibly enough! Perfect to-go sandwich! The rice ball was memorably delicious. My husband nabbed the empanada before I could. The cake lasted more than one day, but it wasn't my favorite; I think I was expecting something more drenched and with more layers, but it is difficult to evaluate from a to-go container. In this day and age, ordering from an outdoor window is ideal. There are benches and some seating to accommodate the waiting crowd. This was the perfect place to meet a friend who was nervous about covid.

Yelp
MY FAVORITE Cuban Restaurant :). It's clean, fun and beautiful decor. The service is always on point. The food is always delicious. I honestly have not had anything there that I didn't enjoy. My husband and I can never leave there without having the FLAN "Yummy :)". Try it, you will not regret it.
