"Havana Sweets Bakeshop is the newest pop-up on this list, serving guava and cream cheese pastries out of Roxy’s Diner in Fremont. Those craving a filling, but light dinner after a night out in should order the medianoche, a Cuban sandwich pressed between slices of sweet, eggy bread. Your meal can be picked up inside of Roxy’s Diner, or ordered for delivery." - Elizabeth Delgado, Chandler Petersen

Excellent pastries.... didn't get a pic of the coffee, but definitely an authentic Cuban experience

I visited Havana Sweets for the first time today to check out their pastelitos. I've longed for these treats since moving out to the West coast, and I was excited to find a place out here that offered them. As a Cuban having grown up in Miami, I've had plenty of good Cuban food and pastelitos, and the ones here do not disappoint. Jason was manning the station and was a pleasure to interact with. Unfortunately, they're not able to offer sandwiches and croquetas at the moment since they're operating a pop-up within a different store (plant nursery). I hope that they can get their own space soon so that they can offer their full menu. I also hope that they'll do more pop-ups on the East side this year, which is where I reside. In the meantime, I'll be picking up some merch from their website and commuting to Seattle on Sundays to support them. P.S. they also take custom orders through their website, so you can get these tasty pastries outside of their standard operating schedule.

Yelp
I've had a fascination with Cuban culture and cuisine after watching a SIFF film called, Cuban Food Stories, back in 2019. Never been to Miami, FL either. I miss Cuban focused businesses that have closed such as Paladar, Geo's, and Papa Chango. The latter had created a major void to have Cuban style coffee and pastelitos, those light flaky cheese or fruit filled pastries. Havana Sweets Bakeshop has been a bookmark for awhile. I finally had the opportunity to leave SLU via Westlake and detoured to Fremont's Peace Love and Happiness plant shop, where Havana Sweets Bakeshop has a coffee cart located on Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sun from 10am-4pm (3/1/24). Parking is always a challenge in Fremont, and eventually I gave up and parked in the loading zone out front. I was warmly greeted with a smile by the gentleman at the coffee cart. That was uplifting after a long work week and major sleep deprivation. Since it was coming up on 3pm, luckily there were a few pastries left. So I ordered one guava pastelito and a cafecito as my afternoon merienda. Nice pleasant convo and shortly thereafter left with the goods. I found another parking spot and took in the sunbreak and waterway view. Took a sip of the cafecito, so smooth, creamy, and hit the spot. The pastelito was spot on - light, flaky and in the middle a nice portion of guava filling. Delicious! So worth the wait and was able to finally to relax after another long work week. Great way to start the weekend with a pleasant experience from Havana Sweets Bakeshop.

Yelp
I found the pop-up bakeshop when I was wandering around at the nursery Peace love and happiness club. The popup is located on the right when you enter the plant shop. I bought the guava pastry and was impressed by how flakey and intricate the pastry was. I also appreciated how they managed to keep the pastry price a little lower than what's offered at other bakeries (it was $4). Yeah I'm a fan. I will return when I get the cravings for the pastries.

Yelp
Wish I could give this place 5 stars but the espresso is just too sweet for my liking. I would ask for less sweet next time! Other than that, We ordered a couple of pastries, everything tasted great especially the guava and cheese one. We stood around the front and took a couple of bites as we waited around 15 min for our coffee. Then walked inside the plant shop to explore. The guy working the espresso machine was kind enough to point out the bathrooms as the chick told us there were none. Lol thought that was kind and funny! Just note there are two locations and one one of them has the pop up coffee - don't get lost like we did at first - luckily there was the Fremont sunday market so we were able to ask the information booth where this place was.

Yelp
Tres leches and cheese pastelitos are sooo fire . Take this review with a grain of salt bc I've never had the Cuban baked goods from MIAMI or DONT BECAUSE YOU MUST COME HERE AND TRY THEIR PASTRIES!!! I've been on a hunt to find my favorite tres leches cake in Seattle and they have hit my top 2. The cake is #1 NOT DRY!!! It's so *moist* and flavor is perfect without too much whipped topping. Chefs kiss! Owner is so nice! He gave us a Cuban coffee to try and man do they taste like the crack that would get you through a night of studying in college as my friend would say - sweet and strong. I would 1000% come back and get more of the cake and hopefully try more of the menu.

Yelp
By far the most authentic pastelitos I have had in Seattle! The dough and the flakiness on point! The filling portions perfection. As a Miami girl I approve 100%! I was really shocked by how much they taste like the ones I get in Miami! They are open only from Thursday to Saturday evening from 6PM to late. Best way to check up on their hours is through Instagram stories!

Yelp
Super nice crew selling delightful goodies in Fremont. Decided not to eat dessert at the restaurant we had dinner at and noticed Havana Sweets on a stroll around Fremont. The guys up front were having a good time, making coffee (this late? So Miami ;) and shooting the breeze. There were a couple tables of folks eating sandwiches but all we had eyes for was the tres leches. My boo loves himself some tres leches. We also tried a guava situation that was good and not too sweet. Prices are reasonable, staff are the best and the food feels authentic. Support small, local joints.

Yelp
This is the only place where we've found legit Cuban food that reminds us of our home in Miami! The pastelitos and sandwiches are delicious! My favorite is the classic guava pastry. My partner really liked the medianoche sandwich too! Perfect flavors and textures. Also, their cafecito is perfect and is super strong if you need an energy boost, you can't go wrong with a Cuban shot of espresso. It also pairs perfectly with the the flan or tres leches. My favorite thing about this place is the chill vibe and music that makes the night feel young and gets me in a dancing mood! Can't wait for our next visit!

Yelp
Updated review. We were accidentally overcharged but they've fixed the mistake! Happy to see I'd come back here for their Cuban sandwiches!

Yelp
Stumbled across this place on the way to the parking lot. Really good authentic cafe Cubano and awesome pastries. The medianoche was really good as well. Very filling and the plantain chips are a nice touch. It was also great service from the staff too. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
Amazing! So good. Try the sampler. Couldn't decide which was our fave. Not too sweet and def not bland.

Bruce D.

Yelp
Be sure to check with them directly to make sure they are open. We used the published hours and they were unfortunately closed for the week.

Yelp
Pastries were delicious! Our favorites are the cheese and the cheese/guava. Ordered through DoorDash and delivery was prompt!

Yelp
I've had their pastellitos, both the Medianoche and Elena Ruz sandwiches, cafecitos, and the flan, all within a course of a day. It's that good! Jason is a true perfectionist when it comes to food. Come here and support local!
