The Best Salads in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"A true farm-to-table experience, Haven Farm + Table blends sky and soil, with its glass ceiling opening to the heavens while its menu remains deeply rooted in the earth. Nestled on a three-acre Encinitas farm, the relationship between farm and restaurant is captured in the Foxy Greens salad. Composed of six just-plucked lettuces—including baby greens, beet greens, arugula, salanova, romaine, and little gem—the bowl is completed with cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, carrots, and crunchy grains, all doused in a seasonal vinaigrette." - Kelly Bone

Haven Farm-to-Table Restaurant Opens at Fox Point Farms in Encinitas | Eater San Diego

"The 120-seat upstairs restaurant overlooks rows of vegetables and, with reservations now open ahead of its August 10 debut, is designed by Tecture as a modern greenhouse and light-filled showcase for seasonal cuisine; its culinary director is veteran North County chef Alex Carballo and it will be led in the kitchen by chef de cuisine Kelston Moore, co-founder of the Bad Boyz of Culinary and a former Food Network 'Chopped' contestant who returned to San Diego from the St. Regis Deer Valley. Opening dishes include vegetable-forward plates such as carrots al pastor with grilled apricots and smoked corn foam, confit tomatoes with housemade burrata, and summer squash agnolotti in garlic-sage butter, and Moore plans to walk the farm with Greg Reese each morning to adjust the menu frequently and to host guest chef dinners in the field." - Candice Woo

Absolutely outstanding dining experience! The tasting menu was phenomenal, with each course full of flavor and beautifully presented. Our server shared that the tasting menu changes frequently, which makes us even more excited to return and see what's new. It's been a long time since l've had food this good—we will definitely be back to enjoy more of their delicious dishes.

Excellent dinner at Haven! Loved the farm to table ambiance and the food was delicious. We started with the lobster toast and chargrilled oysters, and for entrees had the line caught halibut, potato gnocchi, and the jerk pork belly mole. The service was very friendly and the food came out quickly. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Below the restaurant is a nice shop with drinks, food, gifts and grocery. Very nice property to walk around, we weren’t able to feed the animals with our dogs, so maybe next time. Great place to get together, recommend!

Farm to table in Encinitas! Areas for kids to roam outside and fine dining upstairs with so much to look at! The ambiance is really something special. Campfires surround the exterior of the restaurant and lots of lounging spots around the property while you wait for a table. Make a reservation!! Walk in tables aren’t common. Our waiter Kevin went above and beyond with table chatter and exceeding our dining requests. We loved the catch of the day in Oceanside, CA (halibut) and the spring pasta. It’s a must stop. Grocery store. Brewery. Animals. Insane development. Hats off to you guys..

We were two separate parties of six, and we all had mixed reviews. To start out the cocktails were fantastic, and those that had Beer really enjoyed the fresh beer. Moving onto appetizers, we thought it was a little strange that the bread was $12, where really most restaurants consider that a free item. And the bread was really lackluster being just white bread, and some small rolls. But the butter was fantastic! I think it was garlic and rosemary or something. We also got the lobster toast which was fantastic as well, but for a shareable plate very small to share amongst four people that liked lobster. We also got the radish carpaccio appetizer while it was good and fresh, it could've used a little bit of seasoning or salt. Otherwise it was just bland without it. Maybe some citrus. Now onto the entrées, the bison burger is on a secret menu, but four people ordered that and absolutely loved it. It should be a item that is on the menu permanently. Two people got the short ribs and the halibut (which was a pretty sizable slab), they both said their plates were fantastic. One person got the gnocchi and said it was just missing something. She was pretty disappointed. I went with the pork belly because it seemed the most unique item on the menu with the Mole sauce. However this was by far the worst item on the menu. I've never had crunchy pork belly before. It took a while for the plate to come out, so maybe they just forgot about it, but by any means I eat about half of the dish and went home hungry. Very disappointed and I probably should have complained before I left the restaurant. All in all, well the service is great, and many items were tasty, we just found that it was extremely over priced for what you're really getting. The atmosphere is awesome and that's probably most of what you're paying for. But they just missed the mark on a few items and some attention to detail. I might give it a shot again in the future, But could go either way.

We recently dined here and I am happy to say I will add this to my list of local favs!!!! The atmosphere is beautiful, the service by Jess and her helpers was fantastic, and some of our dishes were absolutely fantastic! The standouts were the oysters, the chicken and the agua chili. There was art and love in this food, thanks for a beautiful evening out.

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and the place exceeded expectations. It is such an amazing place, not only is it a restaurant but also a farm, market, brewery, and more. We got there about an hour early which was perfect for finding parking, checking out their market which is open late, and grabbing a drink from the market as well before dinner. We sat by their outdoor fire pits to enjoy our drink before walking upstairs for our reservation. We were blown away by the place. The ambiance of it was amazing, music was perfectly suited, the lighting and all the plants, it has a very natural and cabin-like aesthetic. Then not to mention the food was insane… some of the best I’ve had. My favorite was a passion fruit butter that came with the bread appetizer. Our server Zach was so kind and asked us if we had any allergies or food preferences, and was very patient with us while we found the perfect wine. Later he asked if we were celebrating anything which my boyfriend told him our anniversary and at the end of our meal he brought over a complimentary dessert which was super thoughtful. Portion sizes were perfect too as we were so full by the end. My new favorite spot!!

The staff and service staff was good. The chairs I thought we very uncomfortable as the base was just a blank of wood with no cushions. My wife enjoyed her lobster appetizer and her fish entree she enjoyed, as she did her bread pudding. My meal was quite different. My prawn appetizer had a coating I didn’t enjoy and my New York steak entree had about 20% gristle and was very tough to chew. The mash potatoes were very bland and the zucchini was not Al dente but more on the raw side. We both enjoyed the cocktails, but felt for the price of the meal, it should have been much bettet

Loved Haven! After a few hours of touring the entire Fox Point Farms property with Brian, the owner and our group we were hungry and thirsty! Loved the Prickly Pear ale, brewed on-site, and the Caesar Schnitzel (?) Salad. Amazing sustainable, true farm-to-table, down-to-earth location and workers. We fed the baby Highlander cows, talked with the brewmaster, and watched the apothecary team drying flowers and herbs, and making soaps, lotions, candles and lip balms. Highly recommend scheduling a tour of the premises, and then to Haven for nosh! I’ll be back!
