Hawaiian Hot Chicken absolutely nailed it! I finally got around to trying Hawaiian Hot Chicken, and I'm genuinely still thinking about it. I ordered the Loaded Luau Fries with the Hot heat level, and wow... these fries were an EXPERIENCE. First off, let's talk about the spice. The "Hot" level actually delivered real heat, but it's the good kind of spicy -- bold, and flavorful rather than overwhelming or painful. You get that immediate kick, but it doesn't drown out the seasoning or the quality of the food. If you love spice that's just perfect, this is absolutely the way to go. The fries themselves were a solid 10/10. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned so incredibly well that every bite was packed with flavor. The chicken on top was just as impressive -- juicy, tender, and coated in that perfectly spiced seasoning that Hawaiian Hot Chicken clearly knows how to do right. You can tell they don't cut corners when it comes to flavor. Everything tasted intentional and well-balanced. ALSO just a side note for my pickle lovers; there was so many pickle slices in here which for me was perfect. I absolutely loved it. They were crunchy and super dilly. Now let's give credit where it's due! The coleslaw deserves its own shoutout. It was fresh, creamy, and the perfect contrast to the heat of the chicken. It cooled things down just enough while still adding flavor and texture to the dish. It complemented the fries and chicken perfectly. On top of the food, the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. You can tell they care about the customer experience, which makes the visit that much better. Orders came out in a timely manner, and everything was hot and fresh. I also really appreciated the outdoor seating. There's plenty of space to sit outside, which is great if you want to enjoy your food comfortably, especially on a nice day. The setup feels casual and relaxed. Overall, Hawaiian Hot Chicken completely exceeded my expectations. If you're a spice lover or simply someone who appreciates well-seasoned, high-quality comfort food, this spot is a must-try. Thank you for having me! I will 100% be back.

really good flavor w the hot chicken! get spice level 3 and above if you want some spice. ordered two tenders with toast and fries. added cheese but it wasnt really needed because their sauce was soo good. not a sit down place but they have a few chairs inside and a table or two outside.

Walked in and wasn't greeted , wasn't acknowledged. No eye contact. No recognition THAT I WAS EVEN THERE! AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF WAITING.... the cashier dude simply asked .. Are you going to order? I said well that is the only reason I just walked in here!!!! ( I actually didn't say that out loud. I thought about it in my head) So anyway, this guy says okay so what do you want. Omg!!! When I tell you I wanted to just walk out! But could NOT DO THAT TO MY NEPHEW who only eats "hot chicken" from this place. Anyway I know it's just a fast food spot of many others. But even a simple welcome gesture can make a loyal customer..... Hawaiian hot chicken staff you can do better!

Just left this place feeling satisfied. Not pricey like alot of chicken shops. Sooooo delicious. Service was great, dude was very hospitable and humble. Would highly reccomend anyone looking for a good sandwhich not too heavy but has a nice kick

Used to be a regular at Hawaiian Hot Chicken, back during the car wash days. I won’t lie, the quality over the years has dropped so I stopped coming. I did want to give it another try though to see perhaps if things had changed. Let me tell you, WOW, it was back! The food was great. Tasted like nostalgia. But on another note, the service was fantastic too. I was helped by a kind gentleman working the register, Eric. He was awesome. It was a little packed in there so I figured they would have a waited a bit. But the crew got it done in no time! I’ll be adding HHC back to my rotation with the fam!

Got 2 strips with fries (heat: Cryin Hawaiian) with a cold can of Dr Pepper. Strips were juicy inside with a thin crispy layer outside, the flavors were ok and it was kinda spicy. Their sauce is good but it was really salty. Washed it down with a Cold Dr Pepper. Staff was mellow.. Located in a small corner plaza with parking. Prices are ok

Tommy was a one-man show, and took great care of me. Despite how busy they were, he took the time to talk with me and also made an incredible fried chicken sandwich. I will surely be coming back and hope to see Tommy here.

I can't stop coming here! My son asked for this at least once a week. I must admit the food is amazing. I love the flavoring of the seasoning on the fries and I get the mix of the 2/3 heat level for the tenders. Amazing.! every time I ask for things fresh and hot before I order. Sometimes I hate to say unfortunately they don't always get it right . I like my food at a certain temperature level, and though the food is warm, it's not always freshly fried out of the grease. But when it is to die for. Nonetheless, everyone is always nice there and they stay busy. That lets you know the food is amazing. one of the best places around for spicy chicken and fries.

Food is good For awhile I was vegetarian and would just order a box of fries and it came with a sauce as advertised. The picture shows it and it was never a problem. I'm sick of arguing about this with the employees. It never use to be this way. Not sure what changed but I will tell you it changed me from going once a week to maybe once every three months maybe longer. It really left a bad taste in mouth for this place. It's not cause I don't have a dollar to spend. I feel like they haven't given me a reason for why this is. In the past I have stopped by to pick up two sauces by themselves. Gave the cashier two dollar bills. They didn't even ring it up. Basically the employees pocket the cash for the extra sauces if you pay cash. Maybe it's the employees doing this clearly without the owners knowing. Sad but they lost my business as a frequent customer.

Slowest fucking service everrrrrr!!!! They can be empty and still have you waiting half an hour for one sandwich lol like let's get it together it's really not that hard, people have work to get back to. Sandwiches are hit or miss, either they're good or they are trash. Go to Dave's lol

I always come here when I don't know what to eat late at night! Service is always amazing, small shop with no seating but awesome chicken. You MUST eat with honey they provide. FRIES ARE AMAZING if you like crunchy fries.

Working in the area and needed something open late. Looked this place up and the picture convinced me to give it a try. It's in a plaza but the plaza stays busy so good luck getting a parking spot. That was the second good sign. It's a small location but it has lots of traffic so many people eating on the hoods of their cars. Menu is pretty straightforward I ordered to sandwiches with fries and 2 tenders with fries. The fries are seasoned so well and have a nice crunch to them. The chicken was fresh and juicy. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Love the service, the chicken spice level was decent, and the chicken taste fresh and good quality. They even gave me a bottle water in case it was too spicy mf first time. My next stop was tacos chica. It was also a good match and combo for my food tasting adventure.

Omg so delicious! I forgot how great this was. The seasoning and spice was so on point! I got an extra tender for under $5. Tasty and huge tenders. Not shy at all. I was able to share with 3 people. I was so full. And the workers are so nice.

Wow, this chicken is amazing. We got 2 sandwich tenders in spice level 1 with lots of extra sauce. The bread is amazing and the chicken is perfectly seasoned and moist inside but has good texture on the outside. It truly beats any of the other chain hot chicken places. The sauce is on another level. I need this sauce for everything! The fries are seasoned good and are just out of this world with the sauce. We got this as a snack but honestly with how good it was we could've ate 2 sandwiches each.

In my experience, Hawaiian Hot Chicken can be hit or miss. When it's good, the chicken is hot, tender, and crisp, and really worth the price. On an off day though, it can be really underwhelming but still edible. It's a small place in a plaza with not nearly enough parking. Service isn't always excellent, but I don't blame them since it can get really packed. Overall, the food keeps me coming back.

i've been a loyal customer for over 6 years, since they started a pop up at car wash. unfortunately, after my visit tonight, i don't think i'll be coming back. the quality and consistency is not how it used to be. i walked in and ordered my food and it was ready in less than 5 mins (if not, 5 mins..) usually the chicken is so fresh and hot that id have to let the food cool down, tonight my food wasn't hot, it was warm. didnt taste fresh. the chicken doesn't taste the same and the fries were not good. the coleslaw doesn't taste the same, it used to have a sweet taste but tonight it was very bland, almost as if it was missing an ingredient or two.... let's just say, after took 2 bites of my sandwich and a couple fries, i threw the entire plate away. very underwhelming and dissatisfying. i'm so sad it's not the same.

This place used to be great, but has really fallen off. The main issue is that they are not able to produce consistently hot food. I would understand if they gave you your food in 10 minutes and it was cold because it was sitting there, but often times I have gone and it's been a 30 to 45 minute wait and the food comes out cold. This seems to be an issue of organization in the back and a lack of any leadership/management. . From what I can see when I have been waiting, is that they get a bunch of baskets of chicken ready and then they're waiting on fries or they get a bunch of fries ready and then they're waiting on chicken. It really is a disappointment because it just seems to be purely a management issue and organizational issue. With no single person directing things they end up mistiming everything. I'm sure they could figure it out and make great food again. Last thing, I think they have inflated their yelp stats by having events at their location and giving discounts for high-star reviews (ie. a bunch of reviews from a badminton club event).

Wow!!! This is a little hole in the wall with the best chicken strips, coleslaw and fries!! Omg! I got the 2 Piece strips. The chicken is fresh and cooked perfect. You choose your heat. I like spicy and chose hot. Pickles and coleslaw are perfect. I'm not a bread person but the bread is delicious and a great addition.Seasoned fries are a bit crunchy and perfect. Seasoning on all is bomb. And the dipping sauce made to perfection. Service quick and efficient. Worth every penny!

Honest Review. (Referred by Councilman of Badminton Club CSUN) The chicken tender got the crisp. Very tender ofc. The sauce makes up for the lack of flavor which I think is intended (IMO). Fries well seasoned and crispy. Good service. Small space inside that has a table eat in/wait for your order and one additional table outside in case in you wanna chat with your friends and wait for your order. There is also music. NOTE: Damn big tenders!!!

This place use to be a staple for me and my girl until we both got food poisoning. Never going back after that.

Fire sandwiches and killer fries. Always order Togo so if it's good at home, should be better fresh there.

On 9/27/2025 at 17:30 Better customer service upon ordering food, the team was disengaged upon ordering, food was cold when we finally got the order with no seasoning. The team was very young and all having their on conversation and not really engaging customers. We have been coming here since the opening and are residents of Northridge. Prior today's order the food has always been hot and fresh made as if someone cared. Lastly the dinning area was not clean with tables still having trash on them and the floors. This will be our last time visiting and will start to go to Kicking Chicken. Very sad to see how employees can drive alway is community. I guess this location will be ok due to the location and the college across the street.

Way better than Dave's Hot chicken in my opinion Their sauce was so amazing and never had anything like that before.

I love their crinkle cut fries - they give you a pretty good amount. I would say this place is better than Dave's hot chicken, the seasoning is better and sauce is saucier.

There was a bit of a wait which is fine but the staff were just talking. Didn't seem in a rush to get the orders out and just had the people waiting. Food is honestly so overrated. Go to Dave's instead

The tenders here are awesome, their volcano sauce is impeccable! Their service when I go is fast and the food comes out nice and hot. Finally I love how the decoration is very simple, stickers!

The best seasoned chicken spot in the valley! Super generous with the fries and they're well seasoned as well and even better with the volcano sauce! The parking lot is really small and limited so beware but worth the trip each time

We've had this place on our list for a while now so we finally decided to try it the other day for dinner! We did not know what to expect. Parking is TINY. Super tiny, very limited, mostly 15 min. We got lucky with a 15 min spot right up front but I think you're better off parking down the street and walking. It's a very busy spot! So many online orders lined up and people walking in and out. It's a tiny spot and maybe like 1 or 2 tables outside to sit. The walls are LOUD. It's basically a collage on one side and a collage of their chicken mascot on the other LOL. The menu is pretty straight forward although we had to ask how big their meals were because we weren't sure how many pieces to order. They DEFINITELY load up the box so be prepared. It's worth your money, delicious, and incredibly fast! We took our food home to enjoy and it was so delicious. The skin comes right off and the meat is juicy. The house sauce is DELICIOUS. The cole slaw on the toast was incredible. Made my own little sandwich out of them. The fries were damn good as well and they really pack it in there. Super full box and I ended up having leftovers. Idk how this place got it's popularity but the only thing they have going for them is the Hawaiian buns. Other than that it's mediocre borderline bad. The sandwich itself it's sloppy, lazily put together & the chicken at a 3 level didn't even have a kick. I hate to bash a business but this place ain't it.

Our first time here, and let us say it was a hit. Ownership and staff are great, fast, and quality food. Make sure you stop by and enjoy their delicious food, local and great prices too. Seating is available inside and out, kids were blown away. Thanks Hawaiian Hot chicken for the great service and food.

Don't get me wrong I love this place because the food is good. And I always try to have the benefit of the doubt when it comes to service BUT this time it's ridiculous . I placed an order around 6:43pm & had my husband pick it up by the time it was "supposed" to be ready which was @7pm. Why does it take more than 30 MINUTES?? my husband noticed how the workers blast music in the back & all they do is talk amongst themselves & dance in the back.

I had been here quite a few times and it is always consistent. The hot levels only go to 5 levels, but I am always stuck on Level 1 which is light spice. I only get Chicken Tenders and Colesaw and fries. The Tenders are good but a little too hot. I like to get the basic Tenders and fries. Super fast service and Chicken is very good. Definitely worth a stop f your a Hot Nashville type of Chicken.

I've been going here since they used to sell it at the car wash parking. Past year or so their sauce has really been a let down. Too much salt in it and it seems like they haven't noticed it yet. Rest is still good. I would love to know when the sauce is going back to the way it was.

Came here for the Codename Redtape fundraiser today and will be driving back again to get more food. The chicken was flavorful (as were the fries) and although I'm not a fan of coleslaw I ate every bit of it. The portions are huge making the prices extremely reasonable. Also, shootout to the owner for supporting CSUN students!!

food was good! the slight sweetness and tang is a really great mix with the hot chicken. cheese isn't needed at all though bc the sauce is amazing! light of the spiciness so if you want some kick order level 3 and above. service was nice and had good recs. it's not really a dine in spot bit they have some chairs inside and out (only a few)

My boyfriend and I had time before a campus tour and were pretty hungry, this spot looked good so we ended up trying it. We got the level 3 which is hot. It is no joke, just smelling the spice on our tenders told me that I was going to go through it. It burned my tongue and I was sweating instantly. I ended up needing a soda which I don't usually crave or get. I also debreaded the tenders after a few bites. The heat was way too intense, it gave me slight digestion issues. They had a dipping sauce which reminded me of raising canes. Honestly pretty comparable to Dave's Hot chicken in the sense of the size of the tenders. They are well worth it. I'd get these two options before raising canes. There was only a small counter against the window to eat at, and another to order very minimal that way. One wall was covered by this chicken in Hawaiian grass skirt and the opposite wall was just sharpie writing from all sorts of people. Fairly clean place and decent wait time. However there's no bathroom.

To be honest the food is good but charging 25 smeccels for a single sandwich on uber eats is robbery. Buy one get one free doesn't mean to charge twice as much for that thing. Literally they are doing that meme "by one sandwich for the price of 2 and get one free" the one with mister karbs

The food was fine, as per usual, and the ambiance of the place is fine for a restaurant you just walk into to get food (I don't ever go in there to eat). Today, however, whoever is manning the counter and online orders straight up is not paying attention to what's going on and did not make my order. Not to mention that my friend (who went to pick our food up) noticed the incompetence of whoever was working at the front and watched her spill another person's order. If the owner of the business is looking at this Yelp page, I would strongly recommend retraining your employees. They suck today. I'll keep this negative review up so others know what to look for when dealing with the incompetence of the service staff here. Sorry for being a Karen, but pay attention to both aspects of your business during the shift, please.

The chicken tenders were so fresh. The seasoning on the chicken and fries is delicious. My son got the chicken sandwiches and he loved them! My mom is not big on spicy chicken but she really liked these spicy tenders. Service was great and the wait was not long. They have a cute wall if you want to take pics. Delicious chicken at any level of spicy (I go mild), incredible seasoned fries, fast service, fresh food and a nice little storefront for a casual meal. No complaints. Got lunch.... then got takeout for dinner!

I've been coming here for the past year multiple times and I love it! It's my bfs favorite place. It's honestly really great quality and more affordable for what u get compared to other chicken places.

I love chicken sandwiches and I have been wanting to try this place for a long time. I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 tender combos spice levels 1-4. The good: 1. The chicken was soft and juicy. 2. The spice levels are spicy. I read one of the reviews that said the level 4 was nothing. The level 4 I got was burning my lips. Looked like I had lip stick after. 3. I liked their coleslaw. It has pineapples! I like pineapples on pizza so... 4. Their fries are thick. This can be good or bad. My kids like the thin and crispy fries. I like all fries. 5. Hawaiian bread for buns. The bad: 1. The sandwich sizes are kinda underwhelming. You can easily eat 2 and that would get pricey. 2. I'm a sauce guy so it might just be me but I really didn't like their sauce. I like a more flavorful sauce. This is just personal preference, so to each their own. So I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Try it out for yourself!

Want to give it a 5 but the lack of effort being put into the presentation of the food is why I wont be giving it a 5. I picked up my order and when i opened my bag to see this "sandwich" was just so disappointing. The bun barley covered the chicken and I had to basically make the sandwich myself. Im not asking for an elaborate looking to-go plate but we eat with our eyes first. Would you be excited to eat that?

100% loved the flavor. A hole in the wall spot with cold Sprite, Coca Cola, Diet Coke, & Water. The chicken is extremely tasty and I'll definitely be back. The fries were good too but the sauce they have is perfect. Parking lot is small but I managed to get here when there was a spot. They have three spots outside that say 15 minutes parking and hope ppl follow the rules if you're picking up. They have a good amount of loyal customers too. I ate inside and they have music playing.

First time here. George was helpful and genuine with his willingness to explain the menu. The chicken was juicy and the seasoning was very well. Made a mess eating because of the sauce, this was only a minor detail. Ambiance is a typical fast food type, seat, eat and go. It serves its purpose.

I came here to support the fundraiser for Codename: RedTape and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The portions are big and worth the money. Will definitely come again! It was yummy!
