"You might only know Canada Water as a place you’ve woken up at having missed your tube stop, but there is one thing worth making the trip here specifically for. Hawker House is a warehouse worth spending an entire evening in. It’s one of Street Feast’s more impressive venues, and although it’s only open on the weekends, some of their more outstanding vendors like Mother Clucker and Yum Bun make the trip worth it - you’ll want to make sure you eat their fried chicken sandwiches and ice cream baos respectively. The drinks offering is pricey but the selection is impressive selection with lots of heavily stocked, heavily themed bars. There’s communal seating so you can pick and mix from any of the 10+ traders which makes Hawker House perfect for a long evening of eating, drinking and avoiding the tourists in central London." - Sam Collins

Hawker House has so much potential and is amazing for a chilled night. Ran by the same people that opened Dinerama, and very similar food stalls, right behind Canada Water tube station. I sometimes opt to go here as it's local, but it does definitely lack the atmosphere that Dinerama has, but of course the pro is that it's much quieter. One thing I would say is that considering it's hardly super busy, it might be worth turning the music down a bit as I was struggling to have a conversation (without sounding old). Anyway, I had the dumplings as I always do because they are out of this world, and also had the squid. I would recommend the chicken too as it is great, and the burger is good although it's small portions. Will always re-visit this place when I'm looking for a quiet night. It's also great when the weather is good as the garden is pretty huge!

Went to this great collection of street food stalls after a visit to the nearby Printworks. There are several stalls located inside and outside selling Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese,, steaks, chicken and more. The food was great and I can highly recommend the Vietnamese brisket, it was spot on. The venue is larger with plenty of seating inside and outside. There are also a few pool and table tennis tables. One note is some stalls only take either cash or card so have both if you are planning to visit. Other than that, I highly recommend visiting.

One of my favourite places to go for street food. So many different great vendors in one big open space with indoor and outdoor seating. The special events they host here are also great and worth keeping an eye out for!

I have been here with various groups of friends about 5 times so far over the summer. Fantastic space to chill out and have dinner. Mother Clucker has the longest queue as they’re food is the best! Yum Bun & Petare are also great. Well worth a visit!

With an interesting mix of different foods, drinks and a very lively atmosphere, Hawker House is a great place to be especially with friends. I was there on a Friday evening and the atmosphere was excellent. I have been told it got smaller recently, but it still offers a good variety of street food. It's close to the station which makes it convenient to get to. The pool tables, range of food and drinks, and the ambiance at the place makes it well worth a visit.

I attended a corporate party for more than 1k people at Hakwer House and I was amazed. The venue is hip and cool, full of great food choices that cater for all tastes. Music was even better and the whole space has a wonderful atmosphere. I'd definitely be back. As a tip, I loved the vegetarian burgers and also the steak and fries, and one of my colleagues gave a lot of praise to the arepas.

My photos were of the Martini Weekend, but I've been here at least 4-5 times. The food is always wonderful and the atmosphere and people are lovely. It's a great day and night out with everything you need in 1 spot.

Best thing to happen to Canada Water. Great atmosphere in the evenings and child / pet friendly. Good selection of drinks and food and albeit a little pricey its worth going down there. If you live in the area and you don't feel like hanging around you can also go in and order for take out. All the vendors are happy to help and serve your needs within their well capable hands.

Yelp
Loved the vibe! Loved the food! Loved the atmosphere! Tip is to get in before 7pm to avoid paying the entrance fee. Good place to have a drink with friends or just a decent meal. A little pricy though!

Yelp
I first discovered hawker house last year when I won tickets for the german fest on twitter. I was gutted when I missed out during the summer, but had a chance to make up for it. The atmosphere was immense, everyone is there for the same reason, eat, drink and have a good ole time! I discovered new foods from the german fest, and in addition received a free pint of beer, which I then sneekily took the beer mug home (i hid it under my coat - haha) I ate a few things that day, naan sliders from Rola Wala, a slightly poorly constructed burger from I don't remember where, and lastly Meringue Girls most famous apple pie with green and blacks vanilla ice cream and their imfamous gooey gooey meringues - mmmmmmmmm that was my favourite. I then returned after on three occasions, and tried out so many other types of food and drink. The bars are good but lack in cocktails, they are all the same, nothing is switched up, so does get a bit boring. The food is good though, I do like Prawnography - however their chips are bad! Rola Wala are better as their menu does change every week, and their Paneer Chips are amazeballs - new addition to their menu. After having yum bun twice, on the second occasion it was a let down! I think cause they got so busy, they rushed it all. Not really a fan of mother clucker, had better chicken strips to be honest. I loved petare, their soft, cornbread is so good, I have had them twice now, and would happily go back for more! Get in before 7pm as its free entry. After 7pm pay £3 to get in! They have a cloakroom for your coats and clean toilets too! Loads of places to sit!

Yelp
If you're a foodie in London you've heard of Hawker House, Street Feast, Model Market and you've probably gone... Bringing great food companies / stalls together, great bars with interesting drinks all in a custom made venue... Sounds fantastic... But I have to say that the shine really has faded. I went to the Oktoberfest after winning tickets (although it was so crowded, we had a beer and left without tasting the food), and then the opening night after winning tickets with Time Out, It's on my doorstep, so I was pretty excited...However whilst this meant we got few free drinks (and the frontier beer was amazing!), this didn't sway me. Okay if you're going to a nice restaurant you pay for good food and the vibe - but this is a 'street feast', of small vendors... and frankly while the food is very adventurous... street food shouldn't be the same price as restaurant food... I find it too expensive - especially considering you'll need to pay to enter (£3) after 7pm - and a touch pretentious. We tried: Bob's Lobster's Cheese and Lobster - this came as a small sandwich and all for £10. I really disliked the cheap American cheese they used. Spit and Roast £12 for steak (that was chewy and we couldn't cut with the plastic knives they gave us), fries (quite soggy) and bone marrow. Milk and Honey Mercury Bar for a £9 cocktail that was a bit haphazard (the barman admitted he had never made it before, and whilst I'd like to give him the benefit for this, shouldn't he know what he's making rather than reading it off of a card?) The bar was also really sticky and they practically ignored us when we wanted to pay. The only place I liked was the whisky bar - but then I love whisky so that explains that. I used to be a massive fan, but I think it's lost a lot of its charm of being great food and drink and whilst it's a great concept, I don't think I'll be a regular.

Yelp
So just a hop, skip and a jump from Canada Water station or about 5 minutes walk from Rotherhithe overground this is located in the old What!! shop which closed a few months ago. I wasn't sure why they feel the need to charge £3 entrance but once you walk in you realise it's money well spent. The feel is kind of a cross between a Canary Wharf bar and an industrial film set. I went on a Friday evening shortly after 8pm and it was already packed. There are plenty of places to eat and drink though there seemed this unusual focus on places selling Lobster. There is craft beer albeit in Cans, there is even a very cool roulette wheel costing £8 in which you spin to see which Whiskey you win. A novel concept and certainly popular. Well worth visiting it's a shame it's only apparently open a few more weeks and only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Yelp
3.5* I tried to find all the food markets when I travel. There is a cover fee after 7pm of 3 euros. I suggest getting here before hand to avoid the admission fee. The food is a tad on the pricey side for the quality but I still recommend coming here to check it out. There's a lot of options! There are communal seats and small tables indoors, a bunch of mini bon fires outdoors and heat stations indoors. I think there was music and even more seating upstairs - for the bar. The food - overwhelming amount of options. I ordered pizza, dessert, lobster roll, and seafood. All were good. Nothing I would say omg you must try.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my two visits. It gets very busy so I recommend you head there early. If you arrive before seven your entry is free, but after seven there is a small cover. There are places to stand, sit, and mingle in this huge warehouse pop-up space. It is clear that they really thought through the whole set-up and have a nice flow including plenty of bathrooms for the crowd. The food options are great and it really seems like there is something for everyone. We took a few laps both times we visited to make the best selections we could. The second time we went we had other friends with us, so that made it easier to try more things. We were really happy with all our choices. Though, along with all these choices, prepare to stink like food for the rest of the night. Plan to air out your coat if you bring one along. Or, flavor the smell of food all day long. Cool space with some great options for food, drink, and meeting new people.

Yelp
Imagine a giant warehouse packed with street food vendors and bars, blasting upbeat music and lit with bright neon lights! Located minutes from the Canada Water station is Hawker House, a new addition to the Street Feast group. I've heard about this place since last summer and only visited for the first time last Saturday. I came with a friend and we both loved the vibes and most importantly, got our bellies filled. There are quite a few options for food whether you're looking for wings, fried chicken, tapas, pizza, dumplings, and also dessert! After doing a lap around the entire venue, we decided to go for a chicken burger, some chicken strips and fries from Mother Clucker. These were amazing. The chicken was crispy and incredibly succulent for breast pieces. The lime aioli was my favorite part - its refreshing and the acidity helps to lift the flavors. We were pretty full from our meal but we couldn't leave without trying the desserts from Chin Chin Lab. We got the Hot Griddled Cookie & Cream. Imagine a rich and chewy chocolate chip cookie with a gooey center and topped with a scoop of clotted cream. This tasted as indulgent as it sounds and for some people, it's on the border of being overly sweet (my friend wasn't a huge fan of this). Overall, for the food and vibes, this place was definitely up my alley. If you love supporting local vendors and having a great time while staying warm indoors, this is the best place to be with friends on weekend night!

Yelp
Whoaaa Street Feast Hawker House has a yelp page? If I'd known, I would have checked in, but no matter, I stalked Alex's page and found out and now here I am writing reviews about this awesome place! Nearest tube station: Canada Water station - take the Business Park exit, keep going straight from the exit which sort of bends to the right, cross the road at the traffic lights and you will see a check in sign with a guard at the front! Sometimes if you go on this path you will see other minions asking you if you are going to Street Feast and directing you to the traffic lights too! If you see Decathlon then you have gone in the opposite direction! (sort of!) You can drive here and there is parking at Decathlon right across the place. Make sure you buy tickets online if possible, the prices are steep if you buy tickets at the door. That surely cannot be a challenge these days considering mobile network data, wifi and mobile phones right? But yes, I found this event Oktoberfeast, got myself the awesome beer tasting tickets, (£40 for 2 which is basically £5 more per person when compared to the normal ticket), and went with friends! You get 1 pint of beer each, then 20 1/4 pints. YES you will get drunk. YES you will be happy. YES the cloakroom is free. YES for some reason the men's toilets has a queue but none for the ladies !!! YES there is a tiny corridor right next to the entrance which leads to a whole new area that I swear some people do not realise and the organisers should sign post properly! YES there are many many yummy foods there and I love in particular Blecker Street and Smokestak (anything to do with meat basically!) They do have tables and seating but you have to be prepared to wait for a spot. Otherwise there are barrels around the place where you can stand and give your drinks a rest too. Somehow I managed to spend 5 hours here last Saturday. Happy days.

Yelp
Very cool concept! Just an old warehouse retrofitted to have multiple food drink stands around the edges and seats and tables in the middle. Seats are a little bit packed together, but as in all things communal people were accommodating and make room to sit! Be prepared to wait in line, some of the places are still working out the kinks to become faster serving - but in general they were well prepared and the lines moved decently quickly. We had the arepas - an excellent choice, homemade corn pockets of bread, and slightly spicy fillings. Excellent flavor, well done. It was pretty crowded as well, not quite uncomfortable, but getting close. Also, the ventilation systems didn't work either - so we ended up smelling like a BBQ at the end of the night. Good fun though, with decent food and a good crowd. Depending on how many beers you have, it can get a little expensive - and while the food is good, it's certainly on the upper end of an appropriate range. Value isn't a strong suit here, but I will do my best to go back!

Yelp
We met with friends last night to go to here and I have to say I was really looking forward to going to the point I tried not to eat too much during the day! We arrived early (around 5pm) so we didn't have to pay an entrance fee and to grab a seat/table. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was undercover (thank you!) but they did also have an outside area nicely laid out with fires for those that needed to venture outside. Only a small selection of food places but all different in their own way - jerk chicken, burgers, pizza, steak, desserts, Malaysian, Indian etc. There is something for everyone........ unless you are of course gluten intolerant and want to feed your face! Options for me were a little limited but I gave thanks to the vendors that could cater. Started off with Steak & chips - steak was tender, tasty and thickly cut! Yum! The portion wasn't huge and at £10 it didn't exactly fill me up. Moved onto the next vendor and all I could have was the pork belly ribs. These were amazing! Thickly cut with lots of meat! But alas I couldn't have any sides from this place. So I then decided to try and have a dessert - one option only, a cup of pure liquid chocolate with a toasted marshmallow on top. I have to say that everything I had was tasty and good but in terms of options, limited. The rest of the group however pretty much sampled everything from all the vendors and they loved it all. It soon filled up and got busy, so once we ate we decided to go to a local pub instead to wash it all down as from my understanding the prices on drinks were a little on the expensive side! Yes, I would go back as it's got a cool, relaxed vibe, nice to chill with friends over tasty food, but I just wish they catered more toward folk that have intolerances.

Yelp
Luckily won tickets to Saturday's Oktober Feast event. We got in just after 1pm, planning on lunch before it got too busy. It was quiet inside and we pretty much had the run of the place. Wondering around to take it in, we started off at American Smokehouse with their smoked steak and poutine. A little expensive sounding at £10 a plate, we still opted to get one apiece. The pile of fries and steak with chimichurri and a beer cheese sauce. Really good, and perfect to start the day with. American Steak, the name of the stand will be rebranding as Meat Hook. They are good, so don't miss them! Our tickets included a stein to take home and our first beers of the day, a choice of an English lager or a German pilsner. We opted for the German stuff and were provided with our steins (which were just over a pint in volume). With this we decided to have ribs both beef and pork from Smokestak. The Beef Rib was cut from the rib and diced, making eating easy, the beef falling apart if you squeezed too hard. The pork ribs (of which there were two) were left on the bone and were a little fatty for my liking but went well with the beer. Refilling our steins with Oktoberfest ale from Erdinger, we continued moseying around until we found the upstairs couches - how did we miss these! Comfy couches that you can sit back in and whiling away the day? Why not? Another round of Erdinger and some Apple Strudel from the Meringue Girls - warm with some ice cream and a meringue kiss. Would I go again? Yes, especially as it will be free entry from now onwards (the Oktober Feast thing was a bit of a one off).

Yelp
Crowded, buzzing, fun, varied. Street Feast at its best. Great to know that even when it's cold Outside there's great street food to remind you of summer.

Aurélie V.

Yelp
Great indoor market, there are so many different types of food! I spent half an hour choosing my food... I ended up with crab meat fries (so good!) and a Venezuelan cornbread stuffed with beef, cheddar, etc. Cocktails are good (not too expensive) and there are enough tables and sofas to sit properly. 4 stars only for the loud music.

Scott C.

Yelp
What a joke. I love street food as much as the next person but this place is a waste of time and money. First, if you arrive after 7pm you pay a cover. This buys you the right to eat overpriced mediocre food. Had a couple of versions of the dumplings which were gummy and bland. Also tried the jerk chicken wings and fries. No jerk flavor. Just sweet and the fries just had the flavor of the Mayo. On top of all of that, the wait for the food was ridiculous. It's street food. It is supposed to be fast. I ended up waiting at least 15 mins for each dish. The product was not worth the wait. Better places to get street food in London without paying a cover.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Basically a lot of street food places indoors set around a few large warehouses. There are also a few nice cocktail / wine / beer bars. Seating is essentially a bunch of tables and benches in the centre, so you might end up standing around a big oil drum to eat, which is OK, as you'll probably want to go get your next bit of food quite soon after your first. Most dishes are around £5-10, so you can quite easily spend £50 if you're hungry / thirsty. Don't forget to get cash out first!

Ashley J.

Yelp
I advise anyone from London to this celebration of food and drink. It beautifully balances a great selection of food and drink with being artistic and different. The myriad of different bars and eateries make this place a guaranteed great evening for a group or couple. This place is a true gem of London and I would advise anyone and everyone to try it at least once.
