Prime cuts of matured beef, seafood & other British classics served in striking environs.
"With a growing roster of restaurants across the UK (and now the US), it can be difficult to choose which moody and mahogany Hawksmoor location to book, but the Covent Garden location is always a fine bet for a fun steakhouse meal. There’s a speakeasy feel to this basement and descending the stairs into a roomy bar area, you could just as easily imagine someone smoking a cigar while nursing a scotch on the rocks, as you could a group of colleagues getting burgers and beers." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Hawksmoor has long had a reputation as being one of the best places to get a steak in London, and we agree. All the meat is sourced from the UK, and each steak is cooked to perfection. The Seven Dials location, in particular, has a huge basement room filled with the sounds of people eating red meat and having a good time. Besides beef, Hawksmoor does very good seafood (get the scallops), and the bar at this outpost is excellent and reason enough to visit on its own, especially if you just want a sandwich and a cocktail." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager
"At Hawksmoor, all the meat is sourced from the UK and each steak is cooked to perfection. The Seven Dials location, in particular, has a huge basement room filled with the sounds of people eating red meat and having a good time. The seats are leather, the floors a dark wood, and there are columns pressed into the exposed brick roofs. In other words, it’s a decadent steak cave where no one will be able to see that you’ve got the meat sweats, or that you’ve ordered a third round of the Old Spot belly ribs. "The mega-popular steakhouse with locations across London, the UK, and now the USA, is home to London’s best, if not most consistent, sticky toffee pudding. The sponge is the same domed cup shape as the kind you microwave yourself at home, and that’s very much a compliment. It’s not just soaked but drenched in a torrential downpour of warm toffee sauce, and sits in a paddling pool of it for good measure. Sweet, moist, and topped with a creamy but still light quenelle of clotted cream, this is a top-tier sticky toffee pudding." - Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak, Sinead Cranna, Daisy Meager
"Ask anyone in London what a synonym for ‘good steakhouse’ is and they’re more than likely to say Hawksmoor. Unlucky, Angus. With an always-growing roster of restaurants across the UK (and ), it can be difficult to choose which moody and mahogany room to book, but the Seven Dials location in Covent Garden is always a fine bet. There’s a speakeasy feel to this location, and descending the stairs into a roomy bar area, you could just as easily imagine a Scorsese mobster nursing a scotch on the rocks, as you could a group of colleagues getting burgers and beers on a long Friday lunch. The main dining room—vast, dimly lit, and purpose-built for full fat Old Fashioneds and reliably on-point pieces of beef—is a buzz. It may not feel like the most exciting choice of restaurant in London, but Hawksmoor is always a reliable one." - Jake Missing
