So everyone take a deep breath: this isn't Hackney's. Say it again, with feeling. They have some Hackney's things, like the onion loaf in basket form. If you want the Hackney's burger, order the Grandpa. They do have sliders, tasty modern burgers, and lots of delicious fried veg. And salads that I didn't try. I ordered a veggie burger, and my friend got a slider. We also ordered the onion loaf and the fried carrots and parsnips. Both were delicious. The veggie burger was an earthy, black bean affair. My friend liked the burger, but wished she'd gone for the double patty. The food was solid, particularly since this is still a working menu. They give you free sweet pickles. The decor is fun, and the patio is perfect. Service was friendly, patient, and prompt. They were especially kind to my friend what wanted Hackney's things. They do need to get the menu down to fewer locations, so it's simpler to figure out what to order. They are more of a 3.5 stars, but everyone was solid for a new and evolving place, so I bumped up.

Honestly, great food, incredible combination options, and well-priced beer. Everything on the beer menu appeared to be $5 a pint or around $18 for pitchers. The free sweet pickles are a perfect addition to any sandwich. I got a burger with two patties, they're fairly thin so definitely go for two as it should be the standard. I had it on rye like an idiot so my burger ended up falling apart, but it tasted so good, especially with my choices of pico de gallo and jalapeños. The fries are what's worth talking about though. They are just under $3, but they are the crispiest, best cooked fries I have had in Chicago yet. The outside is a bit crunchy, and the inside is just so fluffy and decadent. It's just cooked perfectly! They have the ideal thickness and size, and the ketchup that comes with I think is homemade, as it had some bits of tomato in it as well. If you want good eats, good price, and good sit-down experience, definitely come to Hax.

Great place for a high quality burger experience. Each burger patty is made fresh, never frozen, and all the toppings that are put in the burger are crisp and ripe. They have a nice selection of craft beers to pair with your meal and they have shakes as well. The thing they're know for though is their onion rings which in my opinion are fantastic. They are fried with a light batter so that each onion rings is thin and crunchy. They even make a burger with the onion rings inside and it is pretty amazing. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend it to anyone that is visiting Chicago.

The Lorraine Hax burger looks and tastes amazing... but, I got sick pretty immediately after eating half of my burger. An hour later, I had toilet time... Both my friend (a med student) and I are still having tummy aches this morning. He mentioned that I got a staph infection. Let’s just say that I’ll be drinking a tank of water and eating vegan for the week... If you eat here, make sure to ask them to cook the burgers well done... They didn’t ask how I wanted my burger, which I usually prefer medium. The middle of my burger was pretty raw, which I gave to my dog. I guess my friend and I assumed that if the burgers were rare, it was meant to be served that way. The staff there are really friendly and attentive! Great section of sidewalk seating. And, they allow dogs in the outdoor patio!

Food is good! Small selection of beers, but decently small. Atmosphere seems cheap and fast-foodish (but v clean).

Visited on a Wed and to my absolute delight, I was told all draft beer was $3 on Wednesdays! Then I checked out the menu for food and found some really good prices...I got a burger and fries for under $10, which is great for the area. The burger and fries were really good...they weren't giant size, but they filled up a 200lb adult male, so that's a good portion. Nice building and location, good places to sit; inside or out on the sidewalk area. I come to this area a couple times a year on business and this is going to be my place...especially on Wednesdays!

A nice neighborhood stop with friendly staff and decent food. Prices are reasonable in an expensive neighborhood with choices for most diets.
