Supplying chefs and markets since the 1990s, Hazel Dell’s on-farm shop sells organic specialty mushrooms on weekdays. You’ll also find them on reputable Saturday market vendor rosters—proof of their long-standing local footprint.

What an amazing place. The people who run it are incredibly generous and have an amazing operation supporting their staff and the community. We tried dried and fresh mushrooms and the variety and quality is top notch. I highly recommend!

This place is the reason my partner and I love cooking mushrooms! They have so many varieties and are always stocked. They help you figure out which mushroom would be best for the recipe you're making. They even have free printed out recipes. They sell fun merch and stickers. Sometimes there's a cute dog that says hi. We even got mushroom compost from them for our plants! Highly recommend for all your mushroom needs.

This farm is a gem. Every time I need to go up to Fort Collins I stop here. Can't say enough good about their extremely fresh products. If you are a mushroom fan, you must stop here.

Every morning, I sauté my baby Bella mushrooms with the other vegetables, zucchini, green pepper, sometimes green onion, broccoli, and of course, dinosaur kale. So when my daughter told me I need to try different kinds of mushrooms, I balked. Sometimes I get lazy about cooking even though I love it. So today at the Longmont farmers market, which I love to peruse and to meet wonderful new people, I stopped at the mushroom booth. There behind the table was a young woman with a smile that could sink ships. At least I think that’s how the saying goes about Helen, whose beauty would sink ships. 🚢 Today was a good day for taking risks no matter how small, and I chose two different kinds of mushrooms: shiitake and lion’s mane. I can’t wait to try them…!

You could not ask for a better "farm to fork" situation. Hazel Dell has an awesome little store front set up on site. Plenty of fresh mushrooms to choose from as well as dried and powdered mushrooms. The quality is always top shelf as well. The staff are very friendly and quiet helpful. The lights in the shop are a bit bright so if you're sensitive to light, bring some sun glasses. Over all a great experience.

Hazel Dell did the impossible and turned me into a mushroom lover! They have a perfect selection of beautiful and delicious culinary mushrooms to make any meal extra special. I have also loved seeing their mushrooms featured on various menus here in Fort Collins with local chefs creating some truly unique and memorable dishes! Their retail space also has so many great gift ideas for any mushroom lover on your list : )

Google
Great place to get mushrooms way cheaper than the store. I thought why not try a half pound of each. Turns out that's a lot of mushrooms. They are all very clean and fresh. I fried up a bit of each and I think the lion's mane is the best. It tastes a lot closer to meat than I thought it would, and the golden oyster really does taste nutty. Really amazing. Will go again.

My niece has recently been into fungi so we figured this would be a fun place to stop. Lucy in the store was so amazing and informative and took the time out of her day to teach her all about mushrooms! Very cool store with even cooler people.

Yelp
Wow. While we love to support local businesses, we will never support this one. I have never been treated so incredibly rudely possibly in my entire life. Instead of being welcomed in and maybe perhaps told a little about the business and how things work, we were spoken to as if we had no right being in there. What was supposed to be a nice day, ending with an elaborately planned mushroomed themed dinner party was thwarted on both ends by a miserable experience from a poorly run business. Save your time and your money and go literally anywhere else.

Yelp
The woman working there was so unfriendly I haven't been back. The grocery store is more convenient.

Yelp
Looking for garden fresh mushrooms? This is the place for you. I go here because of the shiitake. I like them fresh, but they also have all their varieties dried available. Worth a visit if you're looking for restaurant quality mushrooms at reasonable prices.

Yelp
I have been getting a mix of these wonderful mushrooms at the Farmers Market in Longmont. Love Them!!! I have also gotten the dried powder Lions Mane. We made a tasty mushroom soup with them and used them in stew and omelets. I highly recommend these!

Yelp
I don't go on county Road 32 hardly at all unless I am trying to get to I-25. I think though I discovered the Hazel Dell Mushroom farm though just through sheer wandering and saw the sign. I tucked this info in the back of my musty mind and went on about my business and would get the occasional reminder of needing to go here when I did make the infrequent journey through this area. I finally broke down and actually remembered to go here and I am so glad I did. While the farm does not offer tours because bacteria from your body and shoes may contaminate the mushrooms they do have plenty for you to buy. My first experience here was when I bought the Crimini Mushrooms which were simply delicious. Not long after I had these mushrooms I had another kind at a Fort Collins restaurant, Ace Gillette's to be exact on a flatbread pizza and that too was simply to die for. If you want the best mushrooms that the community has to offer I definitely recommend Hazel Dell!

Yelp
Hazel Dell Mushrooms are as fresh as it gets! They have a wide selection of edible mushrooms - Shiitake Oyster Lion's Mane Portabella Button Cinamon Cap and they have this seasoning they package here that contains a mix of dried mushrooms, salt, and garlic! I made a delicious duck and mushroom stew with a variety pack of all of the above! the mushrooms were so good I bought some more the day I flew back to cali

Yelp
What a fantastic find at the market - a table full of beautiful mushrooms. I was in heaven. they had mushrooms that I had never even heard of - Lion's mane for one. Excellent quality and you can't get much fresher. It seemed like they were in dirt that morning.

Yelp
Wow! What a disappointment! To be upfront I did not try any of their mushrooms, because once I got done talking to the owner of this place I would never support a business with such a jerk as an owner. I currently live in WA, but grew up in CO. I came out here to visit some family and wanted to stop by here, as it is the only mushroom farm in CO, and learn a little bit more about the mushroom business. We just purchased some land and are looking into the business ourselves. We wanted some advise from someone who has been doing it for a while, as well as touts himself to be an expert in the field. Well I hope he doesn't know too much that others don't, because when this guy dies so does his knowledge. He states he is not interested in helping anyone get into the business, even though our market would never interfere with his. He went so far as to lie about the information he did give, as it contradicts even the information on his website. Example: he only produces around 2-3 thousand lbs of mushrooms a year (I verified this number 3 times in our conversation). Even at retail pricing thats $20k a year. I saw at least 2 employees, in the retail shop, or maybe it's a sweat shop and he just houses Hispanics on the property. Idk, either way he was such an unhappy, miserable soul, I hope that's not what I have to look forward to if we do decide to do this venture.

Yelp
Who doesn't like to go Shrooming? I know I do, but good luck finding anything growing in the ground in the winter time. If you love fresh mushrooms & a good variety too, this is the place: Organic mushrooms, including shiitakes, oyster mushrooms, king oysters, maitakes, lion's mane, and portobello. They will also work with you on the price too, depending on the quantity. One big plus, you are buying local. Here's to tasty sustainability.
