I make it out each year and I’m surprised by the craftsmanship, the attention to details and how all of the actors get really into their roles. The staff working the production and venue are always easy going as well as helpful. My friends and I love the apple cider donuts we always take home a dozen. We all have our favorite foods and treats, and it’s a must to shop for new headless horseman gear. We excited to visit frostbite this year for the first time.

Had an absolute blast this weekend for my first trip here. The actors were very enthusiastic and effective, the set design of each attraction was impeccable and elaborate and the wait times were very reasonable. Absolutely returning next year with more people!

I recently visited the Headless Horseman on a Friday evening for the 7pm time slot. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with charming gardens and plenty of spooky details to explore. The candy apples from the gift shop bakery were a delicious treat! While the atmosphere was enjoyable, I found the scares to be rather predictable and not particularly frightening. I also felt a bit rushed as we made our way through the attractions, which limited our time to explore everything thoroughly. Despite these minor drawbacks, we did have a fun time and would recommend this experience to others. We plan to return in the future.

This was our second year, we went in a group of five and drove an hour and a half. Well worth the money and drive!!! We got there 6:30 for the 7pm and barely had to wait 5 minutes to get on the hayride. We had so much fun and we were screaming and laughing the entire time. I had yelled one of the members of our groups name and one of the women dressed up in one of the houses and holding a medication bottle noticed and started yelling his name and chasing him, which had us all dying. The clowns were so scary and made some funny comments as well. My voice is half gone today. The hayride is such a fun and scary beginning to the entire experience. We enjoyed the whole thing even better than last year, talked about it the entire ride home and we already can’t wait to come back next year!

Visited last Saturday night and had a blast! We bought our tickets online that morning, and didn’t have any problems parking or waiting in line. We maybe waited about 20 minutes, but when you’re with good company, you don’t really notice as much. The weather was perfect so I didn’t mind. I thought everything was great, from the hayride to the last house. And for me, everything got progressively scarier the further along we got. Yes there were a lot of animatronics but there were a lot of actors too! Some of them were down right creepy! The wicked witch of the west chased me and had me screaming pretty early on LOL Anyway, we paid $75 per person and it was worth it. Took us an hour and a half ish to get through but then you have the illusionist show and the gift shops and omg did I mention the apple cider donuts?! Seriously the best I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to go again next year. Thank you for such a fun night!

HAUNT Reviews

Google
HAUNT REVIEW 2024 :Headless horsemen is an amazing haunt! Worth every penny! The houses and cornfield are really well done with top of the line set designs, smells, moving floors, moving rooms and great acting!! Very cool gift shops and food onsite adds to the fun!! Took us an hour and 50 minutes to do everything! The fast pass is a must! I will say the hayride sucked! Nothing really new and we got the back of the wagon so you can’t see much 🤷🏻‍♂️🤯😤 hayride needs upgrades . Take a page out of field of screams book and this will then be a good hayride ! All in all headless is a dope show!!! Hayride needs work that’s all! GO IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA ! Alex

Google
Best Haunted House attraction around! The level of dedication and craftsmanship put into the decorations and acting is phenomenal! The food is pretty good for event snack food. The deserts are delicious! The gift shops have nice quality items. This event is a well oiled machine. I emailed the Headless Horseman with two questions about my tickets and changing my hayride time. I received a phone call from Bill the next morning and he solved my problem! They are very good about having rules while being accommodating at the same time.

Google
The lines were crazy and the characters didn’t even try to scare you they mumble to themselves, I liked it a lot more when it was smaller. It definitely has outgrown itself and for the price it’s just not worth it. So if you wanna go to the haunted house and actually enjoy it you have to pay an extra $30 for a fast pass because the lines take all the enjoyment out of it, luckily I was in good company or I would’ve left. Do To the lines.

Yelp
My experience with the Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses spans nearly 20 years. For a long time they were easily the best Halloween attraction in all of the Northeast. Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience in 2018 and had decided to stop going, but we took a chance and returned this year and had a great time. They are back in top form and on their game. The sets were super creative, updated, very well maintained, and the actors were engaged, energetic and were really fun. We were also delighted to see some changes including an open walk around some spooky sets after being let off the hayride. All in all it was an excellent experience and we will most certainly be returning there again next year and beyond.

Yelp
Great place for entire family. Not that many of these places around and this one is very big with couple of hours of entertainment. Kudos to the detailed details throughout. Actors and staff very pleasant except for parking staff. They can use some more training on customer service. Live horse on headless horseman is a nice touch. Hay ride at the beginning was fun. More bathrooms, break/bench seating, and food would be appreciated. A couple of smoking sections would be nice too. Overall 5 stars due to the scale and quality of the property and performances. Can use some improvements as mentioned but a great time and awesome memories for any family.

Yelp
Children's Day Review. Upon pulling in, the kids directing traffic had everyone confused on where to park. Security bag check - not bad, very thorough. Waited a half hour for the hayride where they overcrowded large people to the point my 60 year old friend was placed in the center and he fell, unable to get up, halfway thru the trip. They place my 5 year old daughter and 10 year old son in the center, neither of them could see anything over the tops of the adults heads. They didn't even offer us a re-do for the inconvenience and dangerous ride. NO ONE should sit in the center as there are hills and you could tumble backwards. The corn maze - utterly boring. All you do is walk thru corn for 15 minutes, with just a couple of face-painted adults waving. The bounce house area was so crowded we decided to skip that completely. Then onto one house that was actually a decent scare for my 5 year old. The food was absolutely terrible. My friend got a hot dog, he said it was the worst hot dog he's ever had - and imagine what they charge for such mediocrity at a place like this. I said it when my son was 5, that I'd never go back and my mistake - I did. Now I'm saying it for the last time - I will never go back. It's simply not worth the money. You're better off at a free local Trunk-R-Treat. Even my kids said they were bored and didn't enjoy their time. (Except for the one mildly haunted house that was a 1 minute walk-thru). Two stars for the one minute of haunt my kids enjoyed. Otherwise this place is a complete rip-off.

Yelp
I had a really good time! It takes a lot to scare me so I got scared maybe 3 times b/c the ppl. In costumes got me. I did the whole Shan bang! A hayride,a walk-thru trail, a haunted corn maze, & a couple of haunted houses.
google avatar

Paula A.

Yelp
Had such an amazing time, it was scary enough for our 11 year olds but still fun and a few jump scares for us adults! It was a long experience 2 hours definitely monies worth. The apple cider donuts are always a win.
google avatar

Yelp
The highlight of the evening was the brownie at the end of the night. This haunted attraction was terrible. There were no jump scares. Very few characters. You let too many people in at one time and ruined the scares that were ahead so you knew what was coming. To top it all off, paying over $200 to include the VIP line was a rip off. I will admit parking was done very well. Aside from this, I feel as though this attraction has endless opportunity to be better. If I could give zero stars I would.

Yelp
Love this place, we go every year. One bit of feedback: maybe get rid of the hayride. The walk through during Covid was soooooo much better! In the hayride you can barely hear when the host is saying, you can't really see everything because the angles are bad, and it kind of felt like a waste of time. The walkthrough really makes you feel immersed and it was a much more unique and memorable experience and you also get a 360 view of the whole set.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We had the best time! The animatronics are insanely well built and the actors clearly know what they are doing. I was scared so many times!! Definitely the best haunted attraction I have ever been to!!! I only have a few suggestions. I'm not sure how scream pass works exactly but it seemed like way more people had scream pass than regular admission and it did not seem like staff was checking to see if people had scream pass. At one point we waited for two entire hayrides to go on to the next part because they apparently all had scream passes. Next I feel like there needs to be a better option for bathrooms. Even if it's just those trailer bathrooms. I tried to use a porta potty and there was literally someone's soiled clothes in there. All in all an amazing experience!!!!

Yelp
I would have to say this has been one of the best haunted houses/hay rides I have been on in SUCH a long time, specifically on the east coast. I will start by saying that GET the scream pass, because the lines are mad long. so the money is worth it. As my besti and I entered the staff were warm and welcoming. They laughed with us and basically set the vibes for the night. We started with the hay ride, only downside to the hayride was the actor we had was eating something and I hope it was good because he was CHEWING and we could not understand the story - which made us have to piece together the rest of it. But in each area we went into was detailed and dope AF. The actors KNEW THEIR CUES!! Like I was genuinely frightened. There were so many highlights of this. Illusions, lights, the decor, the story line were all amazing. I wish they had food/dinner options right at the beginning so we can eat and get settled or some instructions we kind of had to fend for ourselves which is fine it would have been helpful. We will be back again next year!

Yelp
Such an amazing place! Short wait times, terrific cast! Amazing illusionist and halloween village, an all around must see! And if you are concerned about the price tag, I will say it is very much worth it!

Yelp
First time here so I didn't have any expectations that other folks mentioned this wasn't that great. Whoever did the design and decorations on the sceneries did a fabulous job. Didn't see a hayride, had a bit of a walk going from main entrance to where it starts. Highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothes as it might get a bit chilly going in and out of buildings or walking in the fields. Great actors. Some of the houses need more actors though the actor can move easily from 1 room to another which you can't always prepare for. The motion detectors need a bit of adjustment, since it's very delayed (ie pass the item then it pops up). Food wise: bring cash, no card in some cases. Merchandise : accepts credit cards.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Very well organized and fun. Extraordinary customer service. Called/emailed ahead to ask for assistance with a disabled relative. Bill took care of us upon arriving. Security and hayride experience has been improved.

Yelp
Looking for something Halloween-y. Sure why not. I do think the $79.81 is a lot of money to pay for this experience (especially as a repeat offender), and to be told up front that it's packed and that we should buy the scream pass for another $30? At my advanced age, time is of the essence, but I lost the fight with my principles not wanting to spend a total of $110 Dollars for this experience (so we didn't spend the extra money). The pass would have saved you at least a 30-45 minutes for the opening hayride line (they rolled at least 10 lines deep I think, and some time on the motel line. Everything else you kinda breezed right through. We had 8:15 reservations on a holiday weekend Sunday and left around midnight (we stayed for the last illusionist show of the night) with no breaks. Just one attraction after the other right into the show. Except for the hayride it's all walking so yes, no heels as they say on the website.

Yelp
Don't go lines and they treat the rich better get a scream pass or you Will be miserable by waiting and watching them let the ones who paid more cut the lines

Yelp
Former employee here, and I have some advice for anyone who wants to apply... be prepared to walk on eggshells The season went off great, showed up on time every day, no issues, my acting was reportedly top notch, Then finally when the LAST DAY came around and the time came when we had to start getting our costumes on, a member of the management pulled me aside to say that I was being fired for and I quote " saying something that made someone feel uncomfortable earlier." Despite my inquiries as to what was said, who it was said to, and if they were even in my set... no information or further reason was given. So, I basically got fired because someone with the emotional stability of a wet paper bag got offended. Shocking. so, in short, DO NOT WORK HERE if you like your right to speak freely!

Yelp
GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!! I have been going here every year since 2018, and this year was the worst by far! First, you pay $80 to wait in line!!! My ticket was at 8:15, and I had to wait until 10:30 because everyone and their mother, with a fast pass, got to go ahead. Also, it is utter bull. This place gets high ratings. There's no one working here! Half the houses were empty!! Find another spot; headless horseman is riding out on their former glory. Sadly, I don't think this place will recover. They seem happier with fast pass sales than providing an experience!!! The only thing "haunted" about the motel was that no one was in it. The corn maze had two clowns, MAX!!! I remember years when actors hid behind curtains, but bruh.... For $80, I didn't want my experience to be, "Wow, we've been in this line for 2 hours." BUT the food was good! Those donuts and Apple cider always hits the spot, hopefully, the managers of the food carts can replace the management of the actual rides!!
google avatar

Konnor B.

Yelp
Fun time for sure unique experience! Lots of different haunted houses themes. Hay ride was fun.

Rory J.

Yelp
I look forward to coming here every single year. This year has been the worst yet. You now pay $80.00 a ticket you pick a time that doesn't even matter no one asks you about It. You sit and wait on lines for hours because they now only care about how much money they can get and cram everyone in there. If you wanna wait for hours get there at 8:00pm you may get home around 2am if your lucky. There were also barley any people scaring, if there was they were staring at you and that was It. Very disappointed... Not worth waiting.

Yelp
We did an overnight in the fall for our anniversary to the Hudson Valley, with this being the main attraction. Overall a fantastic haunted "house" attraction. Very large with great details and lots of areas so you felt you got your money's worth. Loved the cider donut ice cream sundae at the end. I'd go again for just that. That being said its nearly an hour and a half away from us so not somewhere I'd feel the need to go to annually, maybe every few years though.

Yelp
I love Headless Horseman and have been a longtime supporter and customer. But, disappointed when I was in need of prizes for a raffle for a cancer center. I called and explained I was hoping for a donation of like 4 tickets for the raffle. The person on the phone recommended I send an email. I did. No answer back.. no rejection email or anything.

Jody F.

Yelp
Amazing haunted attractions, wonderful staff, I visit every year!!!! I've also had the opportunity to be part of the staff as an actor last year, such an awesome experience.

Matt Palangio V.

Yelp
Traveled over 2 hours to come here, since it's ranked so highly on the charts. I even bought the scream pass, and I still don't believe my money was worth what we got. And to be honest I'm more scared to walk in my basement with the lights off.

Aimee D.

Yelp
well we waited over 90 minutes for hayride the "fright pass" people took total priority over us $80 ticket customers. I have always enjoyed this place but it has gone downhill big time,! Long waits, rude staffers, not enough actors, not scary anymore, way OVERPRICED and Overrated!! $4 bottle water which you cannot bring your own do your lips are patched for walking and waiting to get! HAYRIDE SUCKS now*!hey make you walk now areas that used to be by wagon. And NO HEADLESS HORSEMAN at end of hayride! Now they do pics also for $17.95 crazy!! Should be free with expensive ticket. Expect to spend a lot of dough,!! SAVE your MONEY. Go somewhere else for your Halloween fun! VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

Yelp
We go once every couple years in hopes that there are new updates done! The graveyard is awesome! I wish they had more actors that were running around and messing with you from the time you get there until you get to your car to leave. Overall, we go as a group of 7 or more and we have a great time. We go to laugh and interact with the actors more than just looking to be terrified. The amount of patrons coming to this attraction makes it hard to manage the scare factor. Especially if you have larger than 2-3 people in a group. If you feel you are too close to the group in front of you; slowdown so you can enjoy the experience. You can set your own pace to really enjoy this place. If you mess with the actors (I mean talk not be a douche bag) they interact with you well. This place is a great place to have a good time with friends and family! Go enjoy it and don't ridicule it because your experience is based on your attitude.

Yelp
I've been coming to HH since before I even moved upstate. While this year was a little different because of COVID they still did a great job. My only gripe is that I had a later reservation (8:30p) and all of the little shops were closed which seemed kind of early. It's still the best "haunted" attraction I've been to.
google avatar

Barbara V.

Yelp
Our reservation was cancelled, on October 30, due to weather. We spent $100 per ticket, for a group of 12. We were then told we could reserve for 2022, with no option for a refund. Their policy states that you can reserve only in the SAME YEAR. How do I know if they will be open next year, change ownership, etc.....THIS IS RIDICULOUS, FOLLOW YOUR POLICY.....
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
As a first timer, the experience was really cool. I have to give credit to how incredible the production is, running this operations must be a lot. The only downfall was the crazy lines, we got here early and still got held up. we easily waited in over 2 hours of lines. Made a huge mistake by not buying those fast passes. Unless you fully purchase all the speedy tickets, its painful to go. It was cold and my body was aching from standing outside not moving for 90 minutes. The attraction is incredible but those lines!
google avatar

Cody R.

Yelp
had been wanting to go for years and finally went last night! what an unbelievable experience, from the settings to the actors absolutely top notch. was surprised how scary some things actually were! all the actors did such a terrific job and really are going out of there way to give you a jump! for the people complaining about wait times, spend the extra money for a scream pass if your that concerned about wait times!
google avatar

Tony B.

Yelp
Terrible. Waited nearly 2 hours in line only to find out the hayride was now on foot. Money grabbing rip-offs. Take your $75 and order in and watch rocky horror

Eli C.

Yelp
The location is convenient the set up was nice, they stopped having the hayride and now you walk through. It was much scarier when it had the hayrides. Anyways I went last year found out no hay ride and prices were a bit steep but still doable. This year the prices has gone up to a ridiculous amount. So I had to find another location to celebrate my Halloween. Bummer I really wanted to go there again but refuse to pay the new ticket prices.

Aidan K.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday night 10/9/22 and was really looking forward to this. It was nearly a complete let down. The beginning headless horseman walk was lacking content, and only the horseman was only visible for about 15 seconds, no interaction at all. There were 10 attractions advertised, some of these "attractions" were just a 30 second walk though a single small area. The horseman's tomb area was a large are, but nothing happened in it and there were no people. We walked past areas that were clearly set up for actors to jump scare or walk around in but again...nothing. Even the larger areas felt incredibly understaffed. The clown area had about three actors and took all of 1 minute to walk slowly through. All together, the event felt empty and unsatisfying. I've been to other attractions that cost a fraction of the price, had a much larger and more enthusiastic staff, let you go to places more than once, and overall felt more complete/scary. I wouldn't go again and actively regret spending my time here.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
Disappointed in lack of actors because the actual scenery was very well done and creepy. Would have also appreciated some more mention that the hayride is now gone.

Yelp
I first attended the Ulster Park Headless Horseman Halloween Haunted theme Park 15 years ago -- now in its 27th year. My wife, Sandy and I drove over 8 hours to make the 2019 season. It was a chilly Sunday evening (last night, October 6th). In short, we were totally & completely blown away by how utterly incredible the whole experience was! The actors were mesmerizing , committed in how they tirelessly remained in their various roles. Later, we stopped in at the "Scarewear" insight boutique. They didn't have my color in a hat or size in memorabilia sweatshirt to commemorate the occasion and Rachel left in search of accommodating my needs. Her and co-worker, Christy were so polite & helpful. I was not surprised when Rachel told us she's been working for Headless Horseman since she was 16 -- six years -- and just what a phenomenal company it was to work for. The security team works in sync to guarantee no nonsense goes on (like at other theme parks) to ensure each and everyone has the time of their lives. We did, and so did everyone around us. If you are a lover of Halloween and their seasonal theme parks like me, look no more -- the Headless Horseman in Ulster Park is your one-stop dream attraction. I can't say enough of what a worthwhile experience it really is, worth every single penny. We will return -- and bring friends -- soon. I want to thank all the actors and staff for making this the very best Halloween season of all!!!
google avatar

Stefanie S.

Yelp
It's far from us , so we go every 2 to 3 years. It is always great and they put a lot of effort into the scary "decorations" lot of great probs. The only thing I don't like is , that there is no place that you can spend a little time between the scare zones. Also once in a while is bad weather and I think they should have a covered area you can sit down and eat your stuff
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
This experience is usually worth it but this year they have a new walk through approach and have oversold the ticket times. The wait times are absolutely unacceptable. We have been standing in lines for over two hours in the damp night air and haven't even gotten to start the TWO HOUR walking tour. Until they work out the kinks, DON'T BOTHER.
google avatar

Yelp
One of our absolute favorite Halloween attractions! We've been coming here for years but were hesitant with COVID. However, we loved that they were doing a drive thru portion in place of the hayride. It was such a neat experience. Like others have said, there weren't many actors but it was super cool to see everything, up close from your car and they always have the best animatronics and props! The headless horseman himself still made an appearance which I loved. The next portion was the corn maze / haunted houses. I was very worried that social distancing wouldn't be in place and people wouldn't wear their masks. We went on a Sunday night and there weren't long lines at all and people were spacing out. When we made it out of the corn maze, to the second attraction things took a turn. The person behind us refused to cover their nose with their mask which made me super anxious. The ticket taker, Bryce kindly asked the customer to properly put on their mask. They refused stating they had nose surgery and couldn't wear a mask... The customer made an over dramatic scene, belittled and were straight out horrible to Bryce- who was nothing but calm, nice and following the rules in place. On the website it flat out says- all customers must be able to cover their mouth and nose with a covering. So I'm not sure why you'd participate in this event if you couldn't properly wear your mask.. I hope that an owner or manager sees this and praises Bryce for keeping us in line safe. The times are so crazy and Bryce took a lot of heat from that person. SHOUT OUT TO YOU BRYCE. Other than that one incident we really enjoyed our experience this year. Some of the shops and food stands were still open. They did still have an illusionist as well!
google avatar

Tiffany G.

Yelp
Last year we had a blast here, hoping this up coming year is just as good! Calling in and dealing with a ticket issue was easy, the employees were very helpful and informative. They assisted me with my issues accordingly and were very accommodating. Thank you again!

Hilary S.

Yelp
If you're visiting in 2022, don't bother. There was no hayride (which wasn't advertised in any of the marketing), a complete lack of actors, an over 2 hour wait for less than an hour of entertainment and the icing on the cake was the $75 entry price. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
This review shares a lot of logistics and timing info I didn't see in other reviews.... Tickets: I purchased online the day of the event and picked the time that wasn't sold out. It was Halloween night and there were plenty of openings in the schedule. I wasn't sure if it was going to be busy or not- but it turned out Halloween was a good night to get a last minute ticket! Arriving by Car: The drive from Poughkeepsie was about 30min with traffic, even though my map said it would be 20min. There aren't many signs before the location, it kind of just sneaks up on you on the left side when you're heading north on 9W. Traffic naturally slowed down for other people turning into the location. People with light wands wave you into a spot where you can park in a field. The walk is on grass and dirt road and isn't very far to the front gate. Entrance: All people make a a stop at the ticket booth first, except some large parties were invited to go ahead and only have one person check in at the ticket booth. You show your online tickets and they get traded for a customized ticket per person that lists all of the attractions. Hold onto these tickets the whole night to see all attractions (except for when the ticket holders tear them.). You will be searched with metal detectors, and asked to leave any cameras or bags behind. Waiting in Line: On my Halloween night experience, arriving at 7:30pm- the wait times hardly existed. No wait from the ticket booth to the Hay Ride- all ticket times were being accepted without pause. 10min wait for our next Hay Ride tractor to arrive, plus a performer wandering the line for a little entertainment. After the hayride there was about 10min wait in line for entrance to the Hotel set, 20min wait for the "Feeding", and 5min wait for the Inn. It moved quickly and didn't really feel like much of a wait. Attraction Timing: The Hay Ride was about 20min, the Hotel to Corn Maze was about 20min, the Feeding was about 10min, and the Inn was about 5min. The illusionist performs on a stage outside in the general village area between attractions, and his show was about 30min. In total, we were there from 7:30pm - 10pm with some extra time for fresh doughnuts and wandering around the village. Definitely plan 2hrs for the attractions alone. Amenities: - portapotties near all attractions - food & drinks - photo booth - gift shop - picnic tables Scare Factor: Medium. If you're easily spooked, this will be plenty for you. If you're jaded by life and don't get scared easily, this will simply be a night of entertaining sets, costumes, and watching other people freak out. I'm on the jaded end of the spectrum, but they did get me to jump a few times. For maximum scare, sit at the edge of the hayride, and leave plenty of space in front of you as you go through the houses. They put A LOT of work into everything, and for that alone I give it deep respect. Things that would improve the scare factor would be: - more live performers - more space between groups of people - faster or more surprising animatronics - sound-canceling noise in areas where animatronics make a pre-movement noise - more blackout areas with just a glow line as a guide Overall a really great Halloween experience that wasn't so terrifying I'd have nightmares, but kept me on my toes and looking around corners. Whatever you do, please don't be a killjoy for everyone else around you- get in the spirit and have some fun with it.

Yelp
I had heard great things about this hayride on many websites and TV specials and I was really excited to finally come here in Oct 2015. The experience for the most lives up to the hype and it's a great time overall. The package we got included the hayride and several haunted walkthrough attractions. The walkthrough areas were the best thing here by far and the production values of the props and sets were amazing. The actors were fun and their makeup was great too; they did a great job scaring everyone, which is definitely what you hope for here. The only part of the experience that was a bit of a downer was the hayride itself actually; it's a decent hayride, but it just wasn't up the standards of the other areas here and could have been longer. The grounds have plenty of shops and dining areas (definitely get an apple cider donut) and you should have a fun time if you come here!

Yelp
A really fun time. The attention to detail in all the walk throughs was so impressive. The only line we really waited in was to get into the Lunar Motel, about an hour. There were quite a few live actors in my opinion who all did a phenomenal job and made it so much fun . I think this was definitely worth the money as you got so many different experiences.

Yelp
I'm not really sure why all the reviews for this place are so poor.. this was one of the best haunted house / Halloween attractions I've been too. I do think the price is fair. Coming from Queens, most places in LI or manhattan are just as expensive (if not more) for way less things to see/ways to be scared! The production of crew and facilities here is really top notch. They seamlessly usher you between four attractions: haunted hay ride, corn maze and then two haunted houses. The props and actors are all scary and they touch on many different fears and scare factors to get to at least everyone in your group. We came on a Saturday night in mid October so lines were long for everyone else, but not us because we had the scare pass. The scare pass is an additional cost but so worth it. I still think it's a bang for your buck to get it. If your driving this far for a haunted house it better be good & you can bet it is!

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying that I very rarely, if ever, use Yelp. I've never desired for an account, I've never wanted to leave a review before. But I take my haunted attractions quite seriously, and feel like people should know. Additionally, I don't like giving negative reviews. But in this instance, it is necessary. I truly hope this haunt can reinvent itself and return to being top 10 worthy. I'll be glad to return when they do. I attended Headless Horseman last night, 10/19/19. I specifically drove there from Philadelphia, as I wanted to experience one of Haunt World's top 10 in America. Boy, do I regret that decision. My friend and I arrived at 10pm, 45 minutes ahead of our "reservation." It took four(4) hours for us to travel all ten attractions. The majority of that time was spent standing in over crowded lines. We started with the hayride, as you do, and that was lackluster at best. We boarded the trailer, which was in serious need of a new layer of hay. The woman, Walker, narrating our ride barely put forth any effort or theatrics, and took us out of the element by directing our attention directly at the scenes that were supposed to scare us. She didn't seem to care at all! There was a good 5 or 6 minutes where the ride relied exclusively on animatronics to do the job of actors, and most of them were timed very poorly and were in need of some TLC. When we disembarked the hayride, we had another 15-20 minutes of standing in line for the next attraction. I use attraction very loosely. The Lunar Motel "corn maze" is a maze in name only. Yes, the scenery was well constructed, but I didn't pay to check out the decor. There were stretches of this 15 minute walk where nothing happens. I walked past scenes that were very obviously supposed to have actors, but did not. I walked past actors that were very obviously part of scenes, but didn't make any effort what so ever. Very few employees made any attempt to scare us. So little an attempt, that I took matters into my own hands and scared more people around me than the people paid to scare us. I walked through one scene in the Horseman's Crypt that had an actor in it who just stood, staring at a wall. They didn't even acknowledge us as we walked right past them. Or even when I stated I knew they were there. When we finished the corn maze, it was right back into a line that took another 20 minutes, roughly, to progress through. Which culminated in seeing a guy "sexily'' eat a maggot for $5. I would have been more impressed if he was doing it for free and was eating handfuls at a time. The next house we walked through was full of more people staring at us, not knowing what to do as guests made their way through. I didn't even get to see the magic show. I'm pretty bitter about that. The final house took five minutes to walk through because there was no pacing at all. No pacing for any of the attractions, but this was the final one of the night so you'd think they'd put a bit more effort into their piece de resistance. The longest part of the night was standing in line for this. It took almost an hour to get to the front and be able to enter. And then 5 minutes to get through. I will not make this trip again. I'd advise you save your money. Go someplace that actually cares about their business and guests.

Yelp
Been going to headless horseman for the past few years and will continue to do so. They always have a handful of actors walking around entertaining the guests as they wait on lines for attractions which is cool. The hayride itself is a fun experience let alone the different themed houses that come right after. Actors are pretty good, some may have a simple line that won't seem to scare you but believe me they'll catch you off guard at some points throughout the experience when you're positive your looking at a mannequin prop and it turns out to be an actor Just a tip, if you don't want to wait on lines for the majority of the night then definitely spend the extra money on the scream pass, it's well worth it. If you don't want your scares throughout the haunted houses to suck because the actors just finished popping out at the group directly in front of you on a busy night, make it a habit of coming the last week of september or first week of October to avoid the crowds because believe me it gets jam packed!!!

Yelp
I was trying to find this place for 16 yrs. I 1st went there with my college and it was the scariest haunted house ever!!! I was so excited to go back and then realizing once I arrived that it was the place I was looking for. They expanded since last time, now it's like an entire town. Huge!!!! The car hayride was sooooo cool felt like I was in a scary movie passing through a haunted town. The houses were long and scary. Very organized no long lines. It was cold so dress warm. They have food and shops make sure you take cash. Security checkpoint is strict leave cigarettes etc in your car. It was definitely worth it.

Yelp
The one star is because I have to give it a star to leave the review ... do not waste your time or money. Start with the lie that this is not in fact a hayride at all. It's strictly a walk through. What a waste. We didn't get scared at all. There's no actors. No thrills. I really can't believe how lacking this was. I've been to so many haunted attractions over the years and this was the most expensive and the absolute worst. What a shame

Yelp
Haven't been in 10 years. That time was truly well done and legit scary. Plenty of actors, jump scares, frightening characters and experiences. This year it was a complete disappointment. Almost a joke really. Actors were scarce. Animatronic props were sad, slow, and not even hidden. Long waits just to walk through a staged hotel with no one scaring you. I couldn't believe it was the same park as before. Outrageous entry price if this is what it will be like from now on. Don't waste your money. I won't be returning.

Yelp
So this was my first time visiting Headless horseman and it was okay. I brought a ticket for 9pm and didn't finish all the attractions until about 12:15 so be prepare to wait long periods of time. I would recommend going if you live close or not that far away. I drove about two hours for this attraction so I don't think it's worth it. P.S.some of the actors are great! The last two attractions are the best! Don't forget to try the donuts because they are amazing

Yelp
We hadn't been to the Headless Horseman in over ten years so we decided to kick off this year's Halloween season with a trip to the Headless Horseman. We arrived about ten minutes late for our 7:30pm hayride (thanks to the ever increasing Long Island Traffic), but no worries we entered the attraction and were on our hayride by 8:15pm. The hayride was once again the star of the attraction, with many dedicated actors, elaborate sets and great special effects along a very dark a deserted trail through the woods. We then traversed 8 haunted houses/mazes, each with its own distinctive scare factor. The workers did their best to keep the usual conga line from forming through each attraction. this combined with many of the actors remaining hidden until the end of the line walked through and a little slow walking on our part resulted in a very enjoyable time. The entire attraction is set up in a way which lends itself a level of authenticity many attractions do not. With a quaint/spooky village square made up of concession stands, food and gift shops situated directly in the middle of all the haunted houses. We were a party of four adults and all of us were spooked at different times throughout the night. The Headless Horseman appears to have stood the test of time.
