Heard. Burgers - Review - Southwark - London - The Infatuation

"Heard’s dining room—bright, airy, with people in shirts cutting burgers before eating them—is somewhere beef juices are hastily wiped from chins. While the smart Southwark spot will make you feel very put-together, some of the messy, casual joy of a smashburger is lost between the wine pairings (riesling for The Heard, an IPA for the Truffle Shuffle) and regenerative farm chat. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Pause Unmute The patties themselves are more smooshed than smashed, and without those lacy, crispy edges, they end up feeling like a smashburger’s repressed, distant cousin. Still, smash aside, everything tastes good, especially the addition of jalapeño hot honey and buttery buns. This spot works best for casual work meetings or evening hangs when burgers are needed, but so is a decent drinks menu. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown The Heard The best thing about this burger is the toppings. Slightly jammy, spicy-sweet jalapeño hot honey plays well with the savoury, mild Ogleshield cheese. The glossy bun is nice too. We just wish the smashpatties had a crispy edge. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch Heard. Fries Crunchy and light, these are Decent Chips. The beef fat and herb salt isn’t too overpowering either. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna

The best quality burger in London. We’ve eaten at Heard 5 times now with different groups of friends and every time we’ve finished every single bite of our burgers. Fries the same. We usually get 2 burgers each at other places but with the quality of the ingredients 1 has been enough for us. It’s really hard for everyone in a group to be satisfied with the food at a restaurant but these guys have managed it. Outside seating is great , restaurant is clean and toilets also clean. Very impressive overall. Prices are reasonable with burger fries and beer around 25£-30.

Today was our first time having dinner at Heard Burger after hearing so many great things about it—and now we know why! A friend of ours highly recommended it, and we absolutely loved it! I ordered the Heard Burger, and it was fantastic. My 9-year-old daughter had the Boring Burger with extra pickles—she usually never finishes her food, but today she ate every bite, even the Ogleshield fries with cheese sauce and chopped pickles. So delicious! My husband went all out with Boring Burgers topped with extra caviar, plus the Truffle Burger—he couldn’t stop raving about them. The quality, flavors, and creativity really stand out here. We’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be recommending Heard Burger to all my friends in London who are looking for an amazing burger experience!

They called, I Heard! What a fantastic burger from two Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey. I had the Truffle Shuffle burger—meaty, juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavour. The Heard fries, cooked in beef fat and sprinkled with Parmesan, were unreal. My wife went for the Smoked Stack with Red Leicester (arguably the best burger cheese), smoked bacon jam, the Heard salad, and—of course—a few of my fries. They’ve taken over this great old spot with two beautiful mature trees growing through the building and added real flair. This place used to be a regular stop during my motorbike training days. Now it’s had a stunning refurbishment and is primed for sunny summer visits. Honestly? It’s the best burger I’ve had in London—easily up there with Truffle Burger. They even have our four legged friend here own smash patty. Absolute 5 stars. A must-try. We’ll be back!

I had a great experience here overall. The burgers are made to perfection. The ratio between the buns, double patties, and sauce is just right. Everything comes together without being too greasy, which I really appreciate. The service and ambiance are also excellent. Staff are friendly. The only letdown is the fries. They go too heavy on the salt. Still, I’d definitely come back!

One of the best burgers I ever had. Is not a gourmet burger type, if that is your thing, but if you like American style these smash burgers are incredible! Cheesy fries are pretty good as well.

I had the Heard burger—meaty, juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavour with few pickles and fermented green jalapeños honey chutney. The Heard fries, cooked in beef fat and sprinkled with Parmesan. The meat is sourced from HG WALTER BUTCHERY. And burger made to Herd spec and cooked to right perfection and served with very beautiful baps which soak all the juices and still not getting soggy and dough, holding their shape well. Beautiful atmosphere and right amount of music sound. We went on a Sunday afternoon and no reservations and warmly received and welcomed. The staff are great and communicative and given enough privacy to enjoy the food. This place is my new fav for burger place now. Not far from London Bridge keeping enough space from heavy crowds of borough market. Should go Place if you are a lover of a good mash burger. Will come again to try others on menu soon.

The best burgers I’ve ever had!!! After being told by a customer in Norway that this is the best burger place in London me and my mom had to try when we got here. We ordered the burgers called «The Heard» and «Smoke Stack», as well as some side dishes and drinks, and everything was so fun to taste! The chef has done a really good job with the menu and combining different flavours that I would have never thought of! Most of all, the service was the best and the waiters were genuinely super nice and helpful! We even got some extra dessert for free(: Overall our visit here made our day<3 Don’t doubt going here if you’re in London!

I’m thrilled that we’ve finally got a burger joint that understands the timeless pairing of burgers and milkshakes. It’s surprisingly rare to find this combination done well these days. Heard offers a solid selection of milkshakes, with the chocolate one standing out as a highlight. The burgers are great value for money and clearly a cut above anything else in the area. Another standout is the quality of the fries—crispy, well-seasoned, and far better than your typical fast food fare. The atmosphere at Heard also deserves praise. The space is open and comfortable, making it easy to relax and have a conversation without feeling cramped. It’s everything your average fast food spot isn’t. If you’re in the area, Heard is well worth a visit.
