Devoid of guest Wi-Fi - a modern-day café staple - and charging an audacious $1.50 for a mere coffee refill, Hearts seems to have missed the memo on what constitutes a welcoming café atmosphere.
The rigidity extends to their menu too: absolutely no substitutions, even when the café was as empty as a deserted outback. This inflexibility, coupled with the lack of basic hospitality, leaves much to be desired.
The pricing only adds to the farce. Whether it's the Eggs Benny, the salmon toast, or the French toast, each plate comes with a $17 price tag. The uniformity of pricing, regardless of the dish's complexity or ingredients, borders on the comedic. It's a financial puzzle, detaching itself from any known logic in café pricing strategies.
Hearts 'Cafe' stands as a contradiction to the very essence of café culture. It's a place where the promise of a casual, inviting atmosphere is overshadowed by a surprising lack of basic amenities and a rigid, unaccommodating staff. A visit here is a foray into the world of paradoxes, where the term 'café' is used liberally, and the customer's comfort and preferences seem to be an afterthought. Run don't walk to the buttermilk ranch just up the road.
