📍Hector’s Deli, Fitzroy - 4.3 ⭐️ out of 5.
Many of you have urged (in some cases DEMANDED) me to try hector’s, and here I (finally) am.
We had the:
➖Toasted beef and pickles with the hectic/ranch added ($17.50 + $2)
➖Tuna melt ($17)
We also saw the last donut snatched up in front of us, I was devastateddddd because I have heard such good things. Alas, next time.
I really enjoyed my time here. This was definitely helped by the fact that I got to sit at the bar and watch the open kitchen (honestly can we make this mandatory in every restaurant?? I find it so fascinating and fun).
On a more serious note, the toasties were so crispy on the outside and buttery and salty (YUM!!).
I loveddd the tuna melt so much (I think this just slightly won out between the two). It has a spicy kick at times which was fun and a great amount of mayo.
The beef and pickles was also delicious with a very generous serve of pickles, however I can’t help but feel like it may have been dry without the added hectic/ranch which makes me sad.
I thought the sizing was very reasonable! Absolutely understand the hype here, although I will say that it’s not my favourite sandwhich in Melbourne (still stands with @carlitos.collingwood ).
