London’s Best Ramen | Where to Eat Tonkotsu and Shoyu Ramen Noodles - Eater London

"The Japan Centre has switched out Sakagura for Heddon Yokocho, a vibey ramen bar whose menu has many things that aren’t ramen. Leave them be and choose from nine bowls, three apparently derived from London’s intersection with ramen and six that display the regional variations in ramen across Japan. The shoyu and shio soups offer respite to central London ramen bars’ apparent contractual obligations to tonkotsu, while the appearance of tantanmen is a welcome straying from the city’s ramen consensus." - MiMi Aye

Me and my friend were exploring London, and randomly stumbled upon this restaurant away from the crowded streets. We ordered ramen and some sidedishes and it was all delicious, prices are accurate to the location (usual for London) If you are looking for some Japanese cousine in London, I think this one is great choice😉

We booked a table online for a small birthday celebration. The restaurant looks amazing inside. They were really busy as it was a Saturday afternoon but our food came out in less then 10 minutes. Food was amazing. Amazing service amazing atmosphere amazing flavours and food presentation.

When I read about Yokocho’s Persona 3 Reload collaboration in an issue of PLAY magazine, I knew I had to try it. So, I made a reservation, then packed my bags and got a coach from Cardiff for a day out in London. I am pleased to say that it delivered. This meal has been living in my head rent-free since eating it in March. Even my partner who is not too keen on Asian food enjoyed, although I could tell that he found the Persona atmosphere a bit much (quite literally the WALLS and FLOORS were Persona-themed). The staff weren’t too bothersome; mostly just let us enjoy our meals, which came out incredibly quickly. There is much more of the menu that I want to try too, and I am dying to go back to London so I can come here again!

Honestly so pleased we came here! Found this gem via an Instagram story. Did not disappoint at all! When arriving we had a later booking but they accommodated us, which was real nice. The location is hidden away and it's a nice spot, once you go yourself you will see what I mean. The Chicken Ramen was delicious and went for the ice top Japanese beer. It's good value too, so you can spend not too much if you are in a budget and still get a decent amount for it. Nice staff, lovely setting and really gets you into the cultural mood. Solid A***** for the overall experience. LDT x

We stopped by at Yokocho in February while in London. We chose this restaurant because we heard about the Persona Collaboration. Very Good Surprise ! The team is nice and the meal was very pleasant and tasty. We'll come again the next we will be in London :)

Funky Jap-pop retro vibe to this restaurant. Nice use of retro posters, neon, lacquered black and natural wood finishes, lanterns and even down to the Japanese tinned food napkin holders. The soundtrack of an eclectic mix of Japanese tunes in the background adds well to the atmosphere. Nicely executed. The ramen was delicious. The vegan miso ramen had a nice spiciness, with plump tofu puff pockets and a well-cooked broccolini on top, retaining its bite. If you’re ok with eggs, I highly recommend adding one in. The Tokyo Shoyu ramen was not spicy, but tasty hot and the pork shashu was devoured quickly. The chicken katsu curry was as expected … the tangy-ness of the curry sauce nicely offset by the crunchy fried chicken. All over a great lunch. There’s also a funky little frequent visitor card if you anticipate coming often. I would, if I lived close by.

I really looked forward to my visit at Heddon Yokocho. I booked one of the shuchu booths, but when i got there i was going to be placed upstairs on one of the “normal” tables. I asked for the shuchu booth again and received a very confused look from the waitress… The ramen were alright, went for the vegan miso. The tofu inside was great. But if you cannot stand spicy food, don’t try that one! :)

Great atmosphere and interior but average food and service. The Ramen here are ok not outstanding but decent however the other items on the menu are below average and definitely not worth the money especially the sushi. For the price you get better ramen in London but not many other ramen stores can compete with the Japanese decor here. Is worth a visit just for the ambience and a bowl of Ramen 🍜 Waiting times can be fairly long especially weekends so be prepared for it.
