Funky Jap-pop retro vibe to this restaurant. Nice use of retro posters, neon, lacquered black and natural wood finishes, lanterns and even down to the Japanese tinned food napkin holders. The soundtrack of an eclectic mix of Japanese tunes in the background adds well to the atmosphere. Nicely executed.
The ramen was delicious. The vegan miso ramen had a nice spiciness, with plump tofu puff pockets and a well-cooked broccolini on top, retaining its bite. If you’re ok with eggs, I highly recommend adding one in.
The Tokyo Shoyu ramen was not spicy, but tasty hot and the pork shashu was devoured quickly.
The chicken katsu curry was as expected … the tangy-ness of the curry sauce nicely offset by the crunchy fried chicken.
All over a great lunch. There’s also a funky little frequent visitor card if you anticipate coming often. I would, if I lived close by.
