"Let’s get one thing straight: there is absolutely no reason to stand in long, slow-moving queues manned by a bouncer for fried potatoes. Just go to Heertji Friet. If there is a queue, it will be short, and, unlike at some of the other spots in town, there’s actually room to eat here. Most importantly, however, their hand-cut batches of potatoes are fried fresh, the fries are evenly-sized with zero hints of pale undercooking, and come with sauces like joppie, oorlog, and classic mayo-like frietsaus. The food was excellent! It started raining while we were inside, and the place quickly filled up. I’d love to go back and try their burgers.

Service was good and quick. They made the fries fresh and they were nice and crispy when they came out. We got the garlic sauce it was okay. Nothing special but the fries were good. We got the large and it was a huge portion we split it between three people. There were a few different sauce options so that was cool. The place was very clean and they had a cooler filled with drinks.

I know this place since 2022 , but unfortunately these days because of TikTok and everything these small businesses are getting overwhelmed….. it’s a good spot but should me limited sometimes , and their fries are much better than the trendy ones

We had the truffle mayo and parmesan cheese fries and it was delicious and rich and the staff are friendly. Minimum seating good to eat as you walk along the canal.

Had Friet Atelier before trying this and they’re totally different level.
The fries are so dry and hard while the sauce is too little for a portion.
Not friendly service even no queue.
Will not come back again.

Came across this while at Lourens! Decided to give them a shot later and have to say I really liked the fries. Got the large option with the Samurai sauce and it was really good. The sauce was perfectly balanced in terms of spiciness. The quantity was also quite a lot! Easily shareable between 2-3 people!

Pretty tasty fries with special sauces. The fries are fat, and still crispy on the outside. I got the small with curry sauce and it hit the spot!
