The food here is so good. Their prices are unbeatable these days. I got the chicken and my dad got the falafel. We added baba ganoush to both. The food took a bit to finish but it's because they make it all to order. Seriously, come support this business. The food is unbeatable and the staff are always friendly and ready to serve.

Google
A charming, family-owned spot with delicious food at great prices. The falafel is fresh and absolutely amazing—definitely a must-try!

Google
If you are looking for a restaurant with three Michelin stars and upscale wine list and dining experience this is not your place. However, if you forego the pretense and unnecessary snooty ambiance found in high-end restaurants and are looking for authentic home cooked Mediterranean Kafta and Schwarma with simple yet delicious savory salads then come here!

David Oyeka

Google
Absolutely delicious, very friendly staff/owner(?) and very respectable price. Lamb/beef kofta was the right kind of flavorful, side salad was fresh, rice was delightful and fluffy and the babaganoush was top tier. Lickable New favorite spot near my pickleball hideaway 🙏🏾

Google
Charming place with friendly staff, decent food though lacking some taste in the lamb

Google
MY DEAR GOD!!! I was walking by the neighborhood and I found this place because I want a quick snack and OMG DELICIOUS SPECTACULAR THE PRICE IS GREAT THE QUALITY. I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW DELICIOUS THIS WAS FOR ME.

Google
A hidden gem in Brooklyn heights. I was pleasantly surprised to find this small, mom and Pop restaurant, but was even more surprised with how delicious the food was. It was just one person behind the counter and the prices were very affordable. The food was well seasoned, delicious, and had the home cooked feeling. The lentil soup was delicious as well as the hummus. But the falafel‘s were amazing. I’ve honestly never had such good falafel: moist, but crunchy and flakey. Perfectly salted. You didn’t need to eat it with anything. Well executed. I definitely recommend this place to all and will be back here soon.

Best falafel EVER! I had the Falafel plate and it was incredible! Definitely recommend this restaurant! Nice atmosphere as well!

Yelp
This place has the best lentil soup anywhere. It is authentic to the owner's recipe from his home (Tunisia) Americans have chicken noodle soup and The Middle East or rather Africa has the staple of Lentil soup..it is thick, yummy, homemade well seasoned and absolutely delicious. Everything here in this tiny spot is ama-zing!!! Brooklyn heights has bland food with overrated prices this quaint spot for locals and all in neighborhood offer finally FLAVOR....AND VERY AFFORDABLE PRICES... The chicken Sharma is very juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The Hummus is authentic and made fresh daily. Everything is made fresh, combine, flavor and price it's a Devine eating event. The cold salads are delicious everything has the right amount of seasoning and fresh ingredients. The lentil soup is a squash color the right color and it's the only soup made but it could be a standalone meal daily. It goes nicely with any entree and platter and sandwiches. In winter season it's like wearing a comfy scarf that stays put across the neck...it exactly hits the spot... In other seasons it is still a delicious meal. The food is also very clean eating, meaning it tastes great and is also healthy and digests well I suffer from the occasional sour stomach and am very sensitive to foods that are too greasy, fatty etc. My only complaint is that I wished the pita was slightly thicker. The thin pita used often breaks apart when eating Sharma's From the tahini sauce made fresh, to other delicious food nothing is bad here. As a Brooklyn heights person that has lived there forever, including family members in neighborhood if you want something specific in neighborhood you frequent particular places for particular food options. This bagel place, has solid bagels but this other place has better coffee...it's really terrible...so to have a place that you can always rely on for quality and something delicious besides costing as much rent!!!! This place is the place... It's been around for over 30years!!!

Yelp
Lots of food for a very good price. Was delicious. I need to hit the requirement of 85 characters so here is an extra sentence.

Yelp
One of the best cheap eats around in Brooklyn Heights! It's hard to beat a fresh falafel pita for just $5 AND they take Apple Pay. Is it the best falafel sandwich I've had? No, but it is a solid option and the falafel is made fresh to order. The salad topping options are a little lackluster-- there's Shirazi salad and iceberg lettuce and not much else. I'd really like some pickles or a beet salad to add some color and texture to the pita. The space is a little small and worn down but that's part of the charm. Heights Falafel has been a stalwart neighborhood eatery for the past two and half decades and they definitely deserve the hype. The staff are always kind and quick.

Yelp
Small vibe shop with big flavor plates! Nice veggie options. Falafel is delicious. Sauces/dips are great. Can't go wrong with these prices

Yelp
The greatest of the great - for $5.05 and in 50 seconds flat, you can get the best falafel pita sandwich of your life, packed with incredible baba ganoush and hummus. This is what Brooklyn used to be and, thank goodness, this one spot hasn't changed for decades. The baklava is also outstanding. 5 stars!!!!

Yelp
Best Kafta and chicken swarma in all NY coupled with affordable prices thisbcant be beat. Jamel was super courteous and kind and helpful and made everything on the spot. Its not a sit in although i ate in but you will not try any mediterranean food thatbis tasteier or more home made authentic.

Yelp
The falafels are amazing as always! Been coming here for years. The price went up but the quality is the same. It's a one person operation so it's as fast as it can be. There are tables in front if you want to sit down else most do take out

Marcos H.

Yelp
Really great food and friendly service! There some outdoor seating too. If you need to get some REAL food in the area and you don't wanna go broke this is the spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Very solid place to eat in BK heights - prices are good the Chicken salad was 9 bucks and falafel was 5!

Allen J.

Yelp
Wanted Fatoosh but had to settle for this - it was terrible. No garlic sauce & little flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
I've never had such amazing falafel in my life. The combo plate comes with generous portions and was enough for lunch and dinner for me. For just over $10, this was a steal!

Yelp
Saw a sign for 5.50 Falafel Sandwich, and that sounded like a great deal to me! This shop is a small hole-in-the wall, but feels homey and welcoming. It is nearby the Clark St. Station, within Brooklyn Heights. The owner was very kind, and welcomed me, happy to help me with the sandwich. For 5.50, I am very satisfied. Short walk to Dumbo, so I ate by the Brooklyn Bridge with a great view. Topped with plenty of fresh tomatoes (cold + refreshing!), lettuce, falafel, and just enough sauce. This isn't like your nearby sloppy sandwich, but was put together with love. Ingredients are fresh, cold, and crispy, which made this a great experience on a hot day.

Yelp
Great food I love getting the chicken shawarma, I love the owner he's very funny and very wholesome, always puts a smile on my face. I've been going here for 4 years and it's always my go to!

Yelp
When a restaurant has an authentic feel, with a great owner, it will show! Jamel gave us an unforgettable experience. The food was excellent, the prices were fair, and it felt very homey. Would highly recommend

Yelp
Great place, big plate and an owner with hear of a gold.We were passing by and found this place

Yelp
Always fresh with great flavor. Still the best light and fluffy falafel. Spinach pie is dense with flavor.

Yelp
Listen up NY, I'm calling' out the Brooklyn time zone. Since I'm droppin' another Yelp review, you outta recognize my rhyme tone. Halal Guys or Moshe's again? Don't give me that a cappin'. Start walking south or take the L on 14th from Manhattan. I know a place in Brooklyn Heights you know that hole-in-the-wall. A joint with flavas that can only stand up Empire tall. It's a no-frills classy kinda J, that serves a mean babaghanouj. Healthy yet hearty for all, o' so easy on the tush. Indoor and outdoor seating whatever you pleasea. Roll up on a tasty plate with an extra side o' pita. Just a few streets down as you step off the bridge of Brooklyn. Like Anthony B., No reservations need to be a bookin. So, you and yo lady can't decide where to eat as you waffle? These eats will have you both singing dolma arigatō Mr. Falafel.

Yelp
First of all, can I adopt the owner? He was such a sweet man. He took the time to explain every little product to us. The falafel itself is incredible. Just the right amount of spices. The tabouli also was delicious. The prices make it a great value. I would love to go back.

Carlos F.

Yelp
Best falafel sandwich in the neighborhood and maybe NYC. Friendly and quick service. Go to lunch spot

Lisa D.

Yelp
By far the best Falafel, and it blows my mind that in NY you can have a delicious, nutritious lunch/dinner for under $6! Heights Falafel is a jewel of the Heights, and Jamel is the kindest, BEST host. It's just the best! Not to be missed!

Jean J.

Yelp
Generous falafel combo plate is two meals for me. 4 large falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, yellow rice, 2 stuffed grape leaves and salad for 11 bucks. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The falafel are light and airy on the inside but crispy on the outside. The restaurant itself is small and dark but no matter. I recently moved into the neighborhood and I will be a regular customer.

Yelp
Craving a snack at 3PM on a Saturday, I was intrigued by the sign outside of Heights Falafel. A falafel for $4.60? Why not, I thought. This is clearly a neighborhood joint, as locals walked in and out their orders briskly made. My falafel sandwich, which came out to $5 with tax, was made in short order. Although the pita is clearly outsourced, the whole sandwich tasted very fresh. Inside were two or three large, crispy, tasty falafel balls, with abundant tomato and lettuce. Compared to Mamoun's Falafel, I think Heights Falafel's falafel sandwich is better--it's heftier, fresher, and tastier than the more slapdash and smaller item from Mamoun's. Heights Falafel has outdoor seating, with three tables in a covered shed along a quiet street perfect for people watching.

Yelp
The reviews had me looking forward to trying this spot as I was looking for a quick bite in the area. I am a huge lover of Mediterranean food, so I really tuned up for a great meal. Overall, it was meh. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich, which was pretty good, but not memorable. I also had hummus and baba ghanoush with a warm pita. The hummus was great, however the baba ghanoush and pita not so much. I think what really made the meal underwhelming was the pita (that accompanied the hummus and babaghanoush) was hard as a rock!! I'm not sure if it was because it was heated, but it clearly wasn't freshly made. It was so dry that I had to hold my coughs in the restaurant! I'm certainly not in a rush to return.

Yelp
Well, Well, Well... a reasonably priced pita sandwich still exists in Brooklyn. I had the chicken shawarma on pita w/ hummus and I was delighted. It was a nice sized and delicious sandwich. The rice pudding wasn't too shabby either. At $7.50 a sandwich would definitely go back for lunch. I'd like to try the falafel next.

Marcus A.

Yelp
Tender, flavorful lamb plate with perfectly seasoned meat, fresh sides, and a rich, savory finish.

Sharon T.

Yelp
This place is honestly a hidden gem around the neighborhood! Their falafel is one of the best ive tried. So airy and taste very fresh My husband also really loves the shawarma sandwich! Their portions are soo generous!

Katherine B.

Yelp
Unbelievably reasonable and SO good! I love the chicken shawarma plate with the white sauce + hot sauce. Comes with a very generous scoop of hummus, which is to die for. It's always too much so provides me with a snack for later!!
google avatar

Kayla D.

Yelp
Had the falafel and hummus as part of a food tour and it was the best falafel I've had in NYC! Very moist. The workers were also very friendly and helpful! They do prefer cash, but accept card.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Heights Falafel in Brooklyn, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. What stood out the most during my visit was their incredible falafel. The falafel at Heights Falafel is nothing short of amazing. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors and textures. The falafel balls were perfectly crispy on the outside, with a warm and fluffy interior that had just the right balance of spices. The pita bread that accompanied the falafel was soft and fresh, and the accompanying tahini sauce was rich and creamy. Service was amazing as owner who works the register was really nice!

Yelp
Was looking for a bite in the area and was excited to find this cozy hole in the wall spot on Yelp with raving reviews. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma (w. extra sauce) and I really wanted to like it but I probably caught them on a bad day. For $12, it was a great price to food ratio. Quality fresh ingredients but flavor has so much potential to be better. Everything was bland. The rice was too soft and wet. The chicken was dry and missing tons of flavor. The hummus was very diluted and mediocre at best. I thought perhaps drenching the chicken in hummus would be more enjoyable but it only made the chicken cold and didn't help much in flavor. I don't usually enjoy salad but this time, I needed more salad to balance out the dry meal. I even contemplated running back to the spot for some salt packets or some kind of sauce to help me enjoy my food but ended up not doing so since I had left a distance already.

Kimberli L.

Yelp
The best Mediterranean food! Everything is delicious. The falafels are light and airy. Wished I lived closer, I would be there every week.
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
The falafel and lentil soup are great, chicken shawarma plate is solid. Looking forward to trying all the smaller side dishes too! The service is also so friendly.

Teddy C.

Yelp
I got a falafel sandwich and it was so good I almost cried. My eyes welled with tears. It's a lovely place to sit down in and the men working behind the counter were very nice as I asked allergy questions. I will absolutely be coming back, especially considering the sandwich was all of $6 before tip.

S C.

Yelp
Amazing falafel--as good as any I've had anywhere in the world. The falafel special plate included dreamy creamy hummus, good baba ganoush, & 2 salads including tabouli. Owner/operators super friendly & fast service. The spinach pie was awesome with the taste of sumac. Excellent yellow lentil soup. Yummy baklava. Only down side was the bread was a bit hard. And one plate was missing--I'd complimented the owner on how inexpensive it was--and I wasn't charged for it. But there was so much food in the one plate plus the sides that two of us ate really well for an incredibly tiny price. An absolute NYC gem.

Crystal D.

Yelp
Great food! I had the falafel sandwich and it was super tasty especially for the price!! The service was great and the restaurant is clean. Definitely coming back!

Marshall G.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood Mediterranean food place and it is consistently delicious! Lamb kabobs are my go to!

Victor N.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best falafel meals in Brooklyn. Don't hesitate, you have the best restaurant before your eyes! The best quality/price! And the merchants are just super nice to their customers! Thanks for everything!

Yelp
We throughly enjoyed our visit at Heights Falafel. It was so quaint and inviting. Jameel was the best and so friendly. The food was hot and fresh. Two of us ordered the falafel sandwich and I have to say it was some of the best falafel that I have ever eaten. The rest of the fam ordered the shawarma chicken sandwich and they enjoyed it, too. Our order was perfectly put together. It was a great place to stop for lunch after walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great lunch / snack spot in BK Heights & a falafel sandwich is only $5.50 - you really can't beat that! They sell a number of different sandwiches, sides, and dips for a reasonable price. Food: sandwiches are delicious and they don't skimp on the protein which I appreciate. Falafel & hummus both taste fresh. The food itself doesn't travel well, it's fine if you're just walking home but is a little saucy so the pita can be impacted if it's sitting for too long. Service: it's usually just one person behind the counter and they're always friendly, that being said service can be a little slow when they're busy. Insider tips: they take card but do prefer cash! There are some seats inside / outside but it's not really a "sit down" spot. Good for: a quick bite, picnic meal in Brooklyn Bridge Park
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
I used to love this place and it was good and usually busy, but today I ordered a simple sandwich on line and was told it would be over an hour, I walked in and there were two customers and two workers, one of whom was one his phone. When I told him I ordered online, he checked and then grabbed the cook who was obviously doing nothing. It took about 6 minutes to make my order and it was tasteless and mushy. Maybe it was a bad day for these two but for what I paid, that shouldn't come into the equation Sad to say, this place has taken a turn for the worst
google avatar

Tasha B.

Yelp
Holy cow!!!! This falafel is so good! It's crispy outside and extremely moist on the inside. Jam packed with flavor! Egyptian style falafel!

Jonathan B.

Yelp
the best food around love the lamb :), service was excellent, and the over all vibe is cozy.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service! Highly recommend. Small space, but the service and taste makes up for it

Yelp
My friend and I walked from Manhattan to Brooklyn over Brooklyn Bridge and we were so hungry afterwards we went to the closest place nearby we could find. This hole in the wall little shop may not seem like much but the food is AMAZING. We were a little worried initially when we saw no one inside but after we ordered and while waiting for our food, there so many more hungry customers forming a line. There is not much to say except if you haven't tried their food and love Mediterranean food, you need to check this place out. We had the schwarma sandwiches and they were super packed with toppings and sauce. The pita was so soft and warm - overall one of the best wraps I've ever had. And all reasonably priced too. If I'm ever around the area again, I would definitely go again.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
Heights Falafel is a quick cheap bite in Brooklyn that will save you from dying of hunger at cheap prices but was not a lot more going on. I ordered the falafel sandwich at the counter and found that the service was on the curt side, which was understandable as they were really busy. The food was mediocre, the falafel was not great and the sauces and toppings were just meh. The venue is on the smaller side with a few tables which did not seem to be cleaned very often in between customers. The trashcan was overflowing with plates and was in urgent need for a cleaning as well. I get it that the place gets busy people should pay more attention to overflowing bins of trash and the smell that is produced as a consequence.
google avatar

Ashok J.

Yelp
This is a good and economical place for Mediterranean quick bites. I got a falafel sandwich to go. A whole pita was stuffed with falafels, hummus, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber. The sandwich was very tasty.

Ida K.

Yelp
I had the best experience at Heights Falafel. The food was a delicious array of color and health. Seriously a rainbow of colors! But most of all, the service was wonderful. The owner gave us free drinks & extra falafel to take home. The prices on the menu are absolutely affordable as well. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

Riola M.

Yelp
Kind staff, and great food for an affordable price! I like to get the chicken sandwich.

Yelp
Heights Falafel could be the cheapest food in the gentrified area of northern Brooklyn. It's a big portion of food for the money. When your hipster friends are blowing their savings at the newest fusion place you can come here and eat until full. It's not even like it's in the ghetto. This is just a few blocks from the bridge, so not a bad way to go. I had the falafel combo. It comes with hummus, pita bread, and tabbouli. This was a filling meal, unlike whichever hipster restaurant gives you a paltry amount of food for astronomical prices, so good work by Yelp. It wasn't the crappy falafel that looks like burnt feces either. These were humongous. A thick creamy hummus was a good accompaniment. The tabbouli was good too, unlike some which have no flavor. All this was about $7, which sounds like it's not possible in Brooklyn. Oh but yes it was. Maybe the only bad thing is there's not too much room inside. Though I was the only customer so it wasn't a problem. It has to be one of the most affordable independent restaurants in Brooklyn. It's a relief there's some with reasonable prices. The portions are big and won't empty a wallet.
