The Best Farmers Markets in Houston | Eater Houston

"As if it wasn’t already an all-around destination for dining and retail, twice a month, Heights Mercantile adds a farmers market to its long list of offerings. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, this market offers a soundtrack of live music as attendees shop for locally-grown and made goods, like dried Lion’s Mane from Lone Star Mushrooms or flaky pastries from Love Croissants. Make it an extra fulfilling Sunday experience, with brunch at Local Foods or a pilates class at the Studio BE." - Brianna Griff

The 6 Best Farmers Markets In Houston

"When: every second and fourth Sunday from 9am to 1pm Missing a farmers market weekend at Heights Mercantile is like missing an episode of that one show everyone’s watching. You don’t want to feel left out Monday morning when your friend group is chatting about some new super-moist cookie at the Jane Wild Mrkt booth or hand-pulled sedanini pasta tre colori from Casetta Cucini. Find a friend or two to carpool with—parking is a beast—and head over to Heights and 7th so you can impress everyone with how much you know about the raw pet food from Sadie’s Select." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene, julie takahashi

Lovely complex in the heights. Love coming here to eat at melange creperie and browse the lululemon and marine layer. Also appreciate how they have integrated the walk path. I think the heights mercantile would greatly benefit from EV Charging in its parking lot. I know local houston business Pangea Charging offers this service!

?!?!??!?!?!

Make sure yall dont scan the QR code. Its free for 2hrs but if you scan it and put you’re info in. It charges you 0.99 cents as a service fee. What a joke… technically not even free after that don’t make the same mistake I did.

Hosted Free Fit Hou’s first Sunrise 6k here. Since the stores and restaurants were closed, the parking was plentiful. The area was quiet and peaceful. Felt very safe. The landscape is really pretty too!

Food is always wonderful at Postino’s. Personally for the price charges does not equal the food portion. Also it was a Friday night and seemed like the restaurant was understaffed. From walking in to the restaurant no greater was found, as she was sitting two people. The manager came and sat is. I believe we had seen our official waiter twice, at least the times that we didn’t have to ask someone to get him for us. I did mention or ask how do we get more service on our table. He said “no problem”. We ordered three bottles of wine and a good portion of food. Maybe Postino’s is one Left for a weekday night.

Amazing beautiful place. Shopping, lots of restaurants and a beautiful walking trail nearby. I just spent a great Saturday afternoon shopping and having brunch at Local Foods.

Yelp
FAVORITE VENDOR: Miya's Munchies. Her pot pies are fantastic. Not to be missed! This market is held the second and fourth Sunday of every month. Rain or shine. If you want to be certain, check their events website (https://www.heightsmercantile.com/events) for upcoming dates. Parking was a slight inconvenience, had to find something on a residential street nearby. Nice market, on the small side. Grabbed a few awesome products -- local honey from Bee2Bee, seafood pot pies from Miya's Munchies (she's got both frozen pies and hand pies), and some gluten-free sourdough bread from Leven. Everything was good but like I mentioned above, the pot pies from Miya's are amazing. My one complaint would be the lack of produce. Only spotted one vendor with a relatively small selection. You can always head to the Houston Farmer's Market on Airline Drive, which is open daily. They have loads of produce. Maybe this goes without saying but it gets brutally hot. Parts of the market were in direct sun so please be safe. Water and sun protection. Leven bakery sells fresh coconuts to sip from. They're very refreshing but too small to share (and priced at $8 each). Might be a good idea to bring some water from home.

Yelp
Super cute little market, with really great prices from the vendors as well! It seems very family friendly and the location is nice. The coffee from District Roasters was terrific :)

Yelp
Heights Mercantile is great! We love to go as a family on Sundays. They have plenty of vendors. Anything from flowers to margarita mix, you can find it here. Alot of vendors have samples and there are an endless amount of puppies to pet and admire.

Yelp
Some vendors are 5 star. This is a fun great small-medium size Farmers Market with many really good vendors. I arrived late (not a morning person). They are open the last Sunday of the month from 9:00am-1:00pm. From what I got to see though was quality vendors. I had stumbled across this Farmer's Market looking for organic beef, chicken or pork bones. I found out that Bedias Farms sells their grass fed no hormone beef bones here. They also sell a variety of different cuts of beef steaks and is not a co-op. They sell them elsewhere also in Champions area but this location was more convenient for me. Their bones made the cleanest most gelatinous bone broth I have ever made. They also had a really good pet snack place. I was only looking for my dog so I'm not sure how much cat goodies if any our available. Some of their dog treats were organic and others were from farms out of state from grass fed animals. Also some good veggie stands, honey, salsa and your other typical Farmers Market International foods. I'll be back :)! Parking is across the street or wherever you can find a spot.

Yelp
Got some really great stuff from here! Fresh carrots, squash, and zucchini were amazing. Also picked up some local honey and locally sourced skirt steak that turned out to be the best fajitas I've ever made at home. Last but not least, the Chilaquiles tomatillo & chipotle salsa makes the the list for one of my favorite salsas. The prices are definitely more than you pay at the grocery, but everything is local and fresh. Definitely worth it! I plan on trying to make it by every month to stock up. Tip: park on the opposite side of Heights Blvd and walk over instead of trying to use the parking lot.

Yelp
I just so happened to stumble across the farmers market on the way to brunch at Common Bond so my date and I decided to visit it after our meal. The market is only open on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the market, must have been at least 20+ vendors. You'll find fresh fruits and veggies, locally sourced meats, potted plants, and other specialty items that make farmers markets so unique. I stumbled across Zero-Point Organics because I noticed the bottles of micro leek honey displayed on the table. I was sold after they described that the honey has a oniony aftertaste. Definitely the most expensive bottle of honey I've ever purchased, $10, but it was worth it. I find myself reaching for it every day whether it be for my oatmeal, pancakes, or just random combinations that I'm curious about. I can see myself making a monthly trip to this market!
