My fiancé absolutely loves this store. We’ve been in a couple times and everything has always been amazing. The customer service, especially from Shaley was spot on. She provided excellent recommendations and was great with her styling. If you’re on Abbott Kinney I would highly recommend checking out Heist.

The girl who helped me was very kind and pleasant to chat with. The selection, although expensive, was very well curated and fun to explore. Love when stores have such a random and unique variety of great quality pieces, would totally come back

Had a wonderful experience shopping here. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. Amiki (sorry if spelling is wrong!) gave great recommendations and was the perfect amount of attentive without being overwhelming. The clothing is higher price point (e.g., $300-$800 for most pieces I saw) but there was also a decent sized sale section. I managed to get a jumpsuit, shirt, and pants (jumpsuit was on sale) for $670

I was in Los Angeles for work and I had to buy my wife a gift for her birthday last week. I love Venice and found this cool shop it was more than I expected coming from New York. The women were very helpful there were two of them who put together outfits for me and they got the right size just by my description Have to say best service for a high end shop I ever experienced. My wife now orders online and loves Heist.

Not a very friendly vibe at all... I watched as one of the associates rolled her eyes at the sight of my friends. They can certainly do better to make their customers feel welcome. Pretty lousy retail experience when you compare it to all the other great shops on the Avenue.

Beautifully curated, high-end women's fashion. Before we walked in my friend said- "this is the kind of place where you buy one thing at a time!" She was right- I found one gorgeous piece, and every time I wear it I get compliments. Friendly staff, and now a permanent fixture on my list of must-visit spots when I go to LA.

The main girl, I believe the manager, seemed very nice although frazzled. The owner seems a bit stiff with a stick up her you know what. I liked the selection but so many other stores with much friendlier atmospheres carry the same brands, so I'll probably just shop at Barneys Co-op, Satine, and Elyse Walker, where shopping is fun and exciting and the staff doesn't feel put out. Honeslty its not even the main girls on the floor, its the owner who brings a bad vibe to the whole place. All in all, beautiful selection, uninviting owner.

We were made to feel like we did not belong. We were in town visiting on a rainy day and just wanted to browse. We didn’t know what the store had to offer. To be fair, the price tags were a bit out of our budget but I don’t think it justifies the cool reception we received. I get that thieves might be a problem but it was still disappointing and definitely affected our feel for this area of Venice.

Are you too proud to walk out of a store after seeing a $275 t-shirt and know you're not going to buy anything because you're afraid the sales girls are going to judge you? I am! Me me! Abbot Kinney is confusing this way. Some retailers are semi-normal person pricing, others are not, and really, the clothes all look the same. Can't say I spent much time in here but giving them a neutral rating. Sales girls were obviously not gonna give a what about me because I was carrying donuts and wearing a shirt from Ross.

I find it incredible that I'm going to be the first to mention that the name perfectly fits this place. It's a heist alright and the shopper is the victim. I also see their strong tradition for awful customer service goes back years and years. It's a product feature, not an accident. Unbelievably overpriced, semi cute items. They lock the door so you have to "knock loudly" to have a broad with more attitude than style reluctantly let you in. Don't do me any favors, honey. $345 for Banana Republic level blouses? Served up with attitude? Girl, bye.

Heist was the last store I visited on my stroll down Abbott Kinney while in LA a couple of weeks ago, and wow, I wish I hadn't gone. It truly ruined my day and left such a bad taste in my mouth. Why did I wait to write this review? To be honest, I was not even going to write one even though my friend and I were so upset, but after the recent Starbucks racial profiling event, I couldn't push this aside and opened up a Yelp account just to write this . Racial profiling is still alive and well even in "diverse," "hip," "cool," Venice. My friend and I - we are two African American women - walked into Heist and the two saleswomen immediately and abruptly stopped talking to each other, and walked to opposite ends of the store - as if prepping for a military mission. They did not even greet us, never said a word. Just watched us both with such intensity. My friend and I did not acknowledge the horrible scrutiny that we were under until a couple of minutes into our visit, we found each other and both shared that we felt so uncomfortable. It was absolutely awful. I haven't had this experience in a store in YEARS. I felt like I had stepped back in time. Owner of Heist, not sure if you really care - doesn't seem like it given that there are negative reviews of your sale staff in Yelp dating back several years, but it would be amazing if people could be treated decently and with respect while in your store. We attempted to talk to one of the salespeople - the one with the "alternative appearance" - ya know, tats, orange and pink hair...she was defensive, unfriendly, unapologetic to the fact that she had made us feel so unwelcomed. She just simply stated, "well, we have to watch people." To shoppers - they are plenty of stores carrying these brands/this type of assortment. SOOO many. Spend your money elsewhere.

I was shopping with my mom today who loves to come to Heist when she's in LA. She's been a very loyal customer and the sales associates were always so sweet and personable. I even remember bringing my dog in last year with my mom and we all had so much fun. Today when we walked in, they barely acknowledged us which was weird. One girl (small with blonde hair) was just rolling her eyes at every thing and everyone. I noticed because I was sitting waiting on my mom. She has spent a lot of money in Heist and today she didn't feel like it. It was just a weird vibe and I know she felt disappointed coming all the way from TN.

Sales person I encountered in the doorway of the store today was rude! I guess she's not happy about working but I will never go back to this store because of her nasty attitude.

Stopped in just after visiting Salt&Straw and immediately needed to go back for more ice cream because the staff looked at me like I was garbage I had never been in before, and I won't be going back. I'd much rather spend my money someplace I feel welcome - even if it's the fake sense of welcome that comes from associates who just want my money, at least they try!

I want to love this place -- the clothes is amazing (although mostly out of my price range). Exquisitely decorated, beautiful wood floors and walls, I just love this place... but I never feel comfortable or welcome here. For the most part the salespeople seem snooty, or just slightly neglectful. I never get the feeling that I'm welcome there, that they want anybody there. They just kind of stand around and give off a mean vibe. It's unfortunate. Just a smile and a hello goes a long way. After all, so much of fashion is emotional. Feeling comfortable in a retail space makes people more likely to stay and shop.

Even though I don't live in L.A, I have been a Heist customer for three or four years. Their selection is interesting and cool, and the salespeople are always friendly. I'm sorry to read some people here felt condescended to, but I have always had friendly, helpful service, even if I spend half an hour trying stuff on and then leave without buying a thing.

If you ever try calling the shop, you will never get anyone to answer the phone. Upon receiving the email on the sale of Isabel Marant collections, I started shopping online and picked out the items that were available in my size. Meanwhile, their website stated "to email them to purchase". I then emailed my order request immediately for all the items that were available in my size. I tried calling them the next day wanting to follow up on my order. Must have dialed the number a dozen times but every time I got their voicemail. In the evening I finally received a response saying that all the items I chose were no longer available. It is almost like false advertisement when they listed items that were in stock but turns out to be unavailable upon ordering.

I recently visited Heist when I was visiting CA with my family. I was not greeted as I strolled in the store with my husband. I so wanted to love this store but as I spent 15 minutes looking around, no one helped me or talked to me. I buy many of the brands you sell but I will go elsewhere as I have many choices on-line. You sell beautiful things and I like the taste level but I felt like I wasn't exactly welcome. It was the first day of our CA trip up the coast with our teens so it was pretty disappointing. Fortunately, we were warmly welcomed at many speciality stores in Montecito, Los Gatos and SF!

I would give this place negative stars. Staff was beyond rude. I was on the phone with my husband sending him pictures of the running shoes I was torn between to help me decide which to buy. I was confronted by a saleswoman who was extremely nasty to me about it. "ABSOLUTELY NO PICTURES" loudly, rudely and in front of other customers. Glaring at me when I explained. I was treated as if I were a shoplifter and someone about to drop 600 on a pair of sneakers. Horrible won't be back.

Cool store, lots of cool lines, but the service is lacking. Bought a gift, had it wrapped, they left the price tag on! Lame!!! Pet Peeve....Everytime you walk in, you are pounced upon with "We have more sizes in the back" - RUDE! TURN OFF. Are in suggesting nothing will fit? what about... "welcome and are you looking for anything special..." - you are a high end boutique, of course you have more sizes in the back. Do people not know this who shop on Abbott Kinney?

If you don't like people why do you work in sales? I went in and asked two questions to an African American woman in a mustard romper and she was beyond rude to me. First I asked her if a sweater was black or blue as i am partially color blind. She looked at me like I'm dumb said blue and walked off. I then asked her if an extremely long shirt was a dress and she gave me so much attitude and walked off again. I was so upset I walked out right then. I would have bought a sweater for a couple hundred. I will never go back. If you want bad customer service shop here.

2 stars for quality merch; -15 stars for service. I don't need twenty something hipsters looking their nose down at me like I'm Julia Roberts pre-makeover from a hooker when I walk in. Don't bother asking THEM for help, they are not interested. Went in to buy a $900 purse. I hope they too, get paid on commission. Bye, Felicia.

This place deserves its negative reviews. Sales rep offered me something to try on and I said no it's not really me thanks then ignored me the rest of my time there.

Wow I can't believe how many negative posts about the Sales team. I love the product and ignore the attitudes. Clothes are beautifully selected, it is always a treat to visit.

agree with others that this place is overpriced and not worth the money. lots of high end brands, style is nice casual, but your paying more for the labels behind the clothing rather that getting something made with quality materials or construction. brands there include martin margiela, hanii y, etc... snobby service. one look at me and the sales lady had to tell me that the upstairs was their sales section where everything was 50% off. thanks.. i appreciate it. : P

Rudest sales people ever. Fashion is about having fun and making people feel good. You won't find that here--. I went in to track down an Isabel Marant dress that I had been looking for online and the sales girl treated me like I was a nuisance. The sales people act like they are part of some cool club and that they know better than you...I've actually worked in the fashion business for over 15 years with celebrities and stylists on a regular basis and all I can say from experience is that the most successful people are the kindest. You won't find that here.

Eh, not impressed...I'd heard a few things about Heist in the fashion magazines/online, but when I walked in I wasn't blown away by the merchandise. It all seemed very uninspired and overpriced. The store clerk did politely greet me, though. I may give it another try the next time I'm on Abbot Kinney, but overall the selection was very black and white (literally).

I'm really bummed to see negative reviews--I love Heist!! I definitely always stop by when I'm in LA, and have bought some really awesome and unique pieces there. A bit pricey, maybe, but sooo worth it--I love the lines they carry, and the clothes are high quality. I always get a ton of compliments on stuff I've bought there. Personally haven't had any negative experiences with the staff, and have found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable. Overall, my favorite place to shop on Abbot Kinney!

Shopped at Heist on my next to last day with my daughter. We changed our minds and returned the items not even 12 hours after we purchased only to find out that they had a no refund policy that was Never disclosed to us during the sale. They pointed out the tiny 5X5 card at corner by cashier that was covered by some other item. When I spoke to manager Shannon who made the sale, she apologized for not disclosing this however she said it is on the receipt. When I said that was too late as the transaction had already occurred she just apologized. She said "l thought you were serious". ?? I said to her that I would have never purchased something knowing this policy since I live on the east coast. When I asked her to ask the owner, Shannon said "she is in Italy". She added that she has worked for Pamela for 14 years and she never gives refunds! So now I have a $2003 Credit in a store in California and I live in New Jersey!! Poor management practices and poor sales !! Poor poor everything!!

Visited Venice for the first time to checkout Abbot Kinney and find something nice for my girlfriend. I was pretty much clueless walking into the place. Guess it showed, the staff was really attentive, and helped me find the right gift. Great sevice and lots of cool designers! Definitely stopping by next time I'm in town. Hoping they'll start a men's section too!

The sales girls are mean. I can't believe an owner/manager would let them get away with this type behavior. My daughter told me that while I was looking around, the sales girls were saying mean things about me making fun of me. I guess this was because when the sales girl asked if I wanted to buy the top I put on the counter, I said "I'm thinking about it." So she went to take it to put it back on the rack and I asked if she would mind leaving it there while I was thinking. She slapped it back down on the counter and rolled her eyes and stormed off.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening, about 45 minutes before closing. One of sales staff greeted us right off, and let us know which racks and tables held the sale items. Another, once she had an idea of the types of things I was looking for kept offering suggestions and bringing things for me to try. They all couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! The brands they carry are on the higher end pricewise. They have a well-chosen selection and I noticed a wide range of sizes on the racks. I will definitely go back when I have more time.

Went in specifically because they have some of my favourite lines. BUT left empty handed and disappointed. A woman working (assuming the owner) was so incredibly rude to me about my body and the fit of the clothes I had selected. The other sales person knew very little about the clothing and rolled her eyes when I asked for different sizing. I politely handed them my items and left the store. I then purchased everything I tried online today directly from the designers sites. I wanted to support local, but out of principle have elected to pay shipping and not support Heist.

Good brands. Rude sales girls. Won't be coming back.

These people (Shannon, in particular) totally took care of me as I was trying to make my wife happy with a gift. They made a novice shopper like me understand the ins & outs and my wife loved the gift.

I would say the salesperson I spoke to was rude, but that implies some intelligence. What I found myself having to listen to was a semi-robotic clueless twit. She did say something that was insightful. She said the owner rarely comes into the store. That sounds about right. Stores with absentee owners almost always have employee attitude problems. Their clothes are hip, but the attitude is so vacant and their responsibility to their merchandise so nil, that I will caution my friends against this store.

Love the boutique. They carry designers that I've worn for years and it was refreshing that the salesperson was very knowledgeable on the lines...not always the case elsewhere. She noticed my Johnny Farah belt and we were kindred spirits, pulling several options for me to choose from. I wish I could have bought them all. I went looking for a 'special' piece and found it. Make sure to ask for Nicole, she knows her stuff!

carries some interesting european designers. wait for the sales. for avante gard pieces, it's better to pay full price at salt (down the street)

Shopped there for a gift for my wife. Can't say enough about the the service - very nice and helpful. And my wife loved her gift...

I leave in Venice since five years have been going to this store now and then. I dont care about the prices I know when I go in there its not find a bargain. But the stuff and the owner has gotten more and more snobby and giving me a feeling I dont belong there. My husband bought me a sweater that started to perish after I wore two times they refused to take it back and were so mean. I dont want to suport bussiness like this and I hope people can notice this even people they treat better because they are famous.

some lust-inducing pieces, but at those prices, it's mostly it's for kept women who like to think they're artists.
