What a fun place to eat at or just get a boba tea. Service was great and people are friendly! Will be my goto place for boba! The area has a lot to offer well worth a visit.

The food here is excellent! A true Taiwan style cuisine. We got the popcorn chicken and braised pork bentos. Both were very good, but the chicken was my favorite. I got the "spicy" level, and it was just right. One of the few places in Chicago that means the spice levels their menu says. The milk tea was very good too. Can't wait to come back and try more of their extensive menu!

Si, I came today to try their chicken which tastes very fresh and extremely delicious and servings are worth it! I was half way through of my food and was already full. They give discount to DePaul students. Something very sweet that happened to me was that I requested a low sugar Strawberry lychee iced tea 30% sugar, but it tasted still extremely sweet. Then, one of the workers made it for me 0% and compensated me. He was so sweet and very helpful! Yes, these drinks can be sweet of the fruit they use and the fruit already has sugar, of course, but it was extremely different. Environment is peaceful, and the vibes reminded me of California.

I did not like my online ordering experience. There were 2 reasons why I did not like ordering through the website. There was no section to add notes. I did not want sauce on the rice, but, I did want it on the side, and there was nowhere to request this. There also was nowhere to request a specific time to pick up your order. My confirmation stated that my order would be ready for pickup 10 minutes after I placed my order. However, it would take me 30 minutes to get there, I called the restaurant to specify a pickup time. Having to make a phone call negated the reason for placing an order online. When I entered the restaurant, there was no greeting of any kind. I was there for 10 minutes until someone asked me if I wanted to place an order. When I told the employee I was there to pick up an order, they had a hard time finding my order. There were 4 employees behind the counter and my order was actually sitting on top. I ending up ordering 2 of the Special Braided Pork Over Rice Bentos. We really liked these. The meal is very well balanced and filling. Everything in the Bento was delicious. The Pork was very tasty, the Bok Choy was cooked perfectly , the pickled mustard greens were crispy, the Braised Tofu and the Stewed Soy Sauce Egg were delicious. My rating is 4 stars, 3 stars for the online ordering and customer service and 5 stars for the food.

Very busy but so so good! The staff was so nice, even though they were completely slammed, and the food was amazing! If you order in the store, you do it at a kiosk that looks like a giant mobile phone. Then you find a table and wait. We were there at 6pm on a Friday night and, as busy as they were, we only waited about 10 minutes!

I enjoyed the boba tea however not a fan of their fried chicken. While the seasoning is nice.... The chicken legs are so huge a) you KNOW these chicken must have been on SERIOUS hormones b) the middle of most of them are raw. Fried chicken

Best Taiwanese food I’ve ever tried!!! Every kinds of drinks and foods are so amazing!

I have been dining from here for over three years and, as a boba fanatic, I can confidently say this is one of the top places in the Chicago area. I highly recommend dining in, as most of the food is best enjoyed fresh. The ambiance is perfect for a quick bite and aligns well with the brand's aesthetic. Despite many negative service reviews, I have never had a bad experience here. Overall, it's a great spot for boba lovers and Thai food as-well. Would recommend giving it a visit as it lives up to its hype! (I highly recommend the orange chicken and chicken sandwiches.)

As a regular of both the LP and North Center locations, I am very disappointed with my braised pork rice order tonight. Upon opening the box which was delivered by Door Dash, I was overcome by an awful burnt smell. The braised pork, of which there was a heaping amount, had tons of tiny burnt pieces in it. You can't pick the pieces out because the entire dish (including rice with gravy) tastes of smoke. Door Dash only credited 1/3 of the price of the dish but of course they are not to blame. Very unfortunate because the other two dishes we ordered were ok but my kid now cannot eat his dinner (the pork rice is his fave). Now I have a hungry kiddo and need to come up with a solution asap which defeats the purpose of ordering out on a Friday night. I've had other quality issues at the LP location before but never like this where the food is inedible. The North Center location has been consistently good. I will now specify which location I want when it comes to delivery.

Love to have a restaurant with a full selection of delicious Taiwanese drinks and food. One has to be warned before they make a visit that portion sizes are between generous to quite large, so it's important to bring a large appetite or friend when you're making a visit here. Since everything is so good here, it'll be hard not to try to finish everything you get (for example, the popcorn chicken is a box of all meat, and the bento is packed quite tight and can easily be shared between two people). The drinks here are done quite well, exactly to the special order of ice or sweetness that you desire. This is with high quality ingredients and the boba has the right amount of chewiness to it. The popcorn chicken was tender with a good crispiness to it and the salt and pepper wasn't overwhelming. The bento box is a fantastic way to try lots of different Taiwanese favorites and snacks at the same time including the tea egg and Taiwanese sausage. The pork rib was marinated well and quite crisp. Overall, great food and drink make this a spot I'm excited to visit again in the future. I was very glad to see everything prepared in such an authentic way and to see a menu that's different from what you see at other boba cafés nearby.

My husband and I visited a friend in the city. He recommended Hello Jasmine - Lincoln Park for their superior Taiwanese food. We ordered the matcha boba tea, chocolate smoothie, orange popcorn chicken, and the pork rib bento box. The drinks were fresh (we could head the very loud blender). The food was also fresh (we could hear the loud fryer) and tasted amazing. The flavors were authentic and distinct compared to what im used to. The portion sizes were huge. The restaurant is very small and the customers are very close together. I love the decorations. The location is not easy to get to if you are not from the neighborhood. I highly recommend Hello Jasmine - Lincoln Park! This restaurant was freezing! Bring your jacket!!!

What a cute neighborhood spot! Went with a group recently for a post-dinner light dessert and am so happy to have discovered this shop. The interior is cozy and not too loud- it seems perfect for either studying or a casual get-together. Guests can order on two self serve-machines- I actually appreciated this system because there are SO many amazing & interesting options, with ample customization! It was so hard to pick just one flavor, but this time I opted for the Peach Lychee Tea (less sweet). It was a generous size and came with lots of juicy chunks of peaches and lychee bits. This drink is one of the most addicting teas I've had! At least on this particular day, the teas came out fairly slowly, so it may be best to plan on ordering ahead. The staff was busy with a lot of orders so it was understandable. Highly recommend, and can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

I was in the neighborhood and decided to try this location for boba. The interior decor was cute but the drink itself was horrendous. I asked for light ice but got no ice and less sugar and got no sugar. The drink was severely watered down and had no tea flavor. I had to discard the whole thing after 2 sips. Highly disappointed and would not recommend. If you want quality boba tea, I would travel a little further to Chinatown instead.

I really appreciated the discount code that I got from the restaurant after my previous review of the service. I wanted to try something new, so I ordered the fried chicken bucket set that comes with two drinks. You can pick from a nice selection for your choice of drink, including milk tea with boba, and you can pick a spice level for your chicken. Overall, the meal was nice, albeit inconsistent. For example, I ordered the less spicy chicken. As you can see from the picture, the spice level is basically the amount of chili powder sprinkled on, and there was great variation in them. Some pieces of chicken got no chili powder on them, and others were amber-red and caked with it. Ironically, there weren't any pieces that had a little amount of spice. The flavor was nice though, sort of a cumin and soy Xinjiang vibe. The chicken bucket also came with two pieces of corn, which were unfortunately dried out and overcooked to the point of being inedible (see pictures). I think they had been left way too long in an oven or warmer. I also think they could have benefitted from some seasoning, perhaps a glaze. The drinks were good, though. I got a grass jelly milk tea and the Assam milk tea with boba. While it wasn't a perfect meal and the dessicated corn made me sad, the service was good this time, so I did appreciate that. In my opinion, the food game needs some polish.

I think the pricing is still pretty decent for boba tea shop. I finally tried some hot food and it was flavorful, the taiwanese fried chicken leg flavorful thru the entire meat - well seasoned. I ordered on the kiosk, but it took a really long time for the drink to come out. It also came sporadically as well (we ordered four drinks in total). My drink had these clear boba things (kind of like the lychee jelly consistency) that were much better than the dark boba.

Spicy! The kitchen's sensibility is authentically foreign. So, some unfamiliar spices and pairings, bur super well executed. Cold boba tea is a delight; the hot passionfruit tea is just a weirdly powerful sugar bomb, even if you choose the "no sugar" option. What is not so cool is the automated ordering system. Not a fan.

If you go here be sure to get boba - the food is just okay. Usually have a fine experience but this time I ordered the spicy sauce (which is $2 more for a small saucer of sauce) which I did not with my order. Then had to argue with them that I did order it, only giving it to me once they checked the receipt. Hope service is a bit better next time.

Ordered four different boba and fruit drinks, and all were mediocre at best. We spent $30 to get a free chicken leg. Just a few hours later, I had severe food poisoning! I'm certain the chicken was the cause, as I had only eaten pretzels and oatmeal earlier in the day. Initially, the employees forgot to include the free chicken, and when we asked for it, they heated it for just five seconds before handing it over. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

The pop corn chicken. Nuff said. Juicy, flavorful and great portion size. Throw in a beer or an ice tea and have a perfect start to a weekend. The place is so darn cute, and perfectly placed between bars, it's the right place at the right time.

Popcorn chicken bento was not to my standards. I really enjoyed the spices but the chicken was dry. I will go back and try other things in the menu like their drinks. The inside looks awesome and a cool place to meet up a couple of friends between classes.

This is like any other Hello Jasmines I've been to. Food taste phenomenal and service is great. One dish I enjoy is the popcorn chicken. However, the popcorn chicken servings aren't always the same. Some orders contains a noticeable less amount than the other times I ordered here. A bit of a shame but overall good food.

LOVE their bubble tea!!! Whether I go in or order for delivery, it always tastes amazing. Very customizable including sugar and ice level. Lots of flavors/toppings. The restaurant itself is also super cute with nice decor and seating. Service was great. Would go back!

Decided to stop in for after dinner drinks. Ordering is easy, just walk up to one of the kiosks and place your order using the prompts on the screen. They call your name when your order is ready. We were even able to split drinks into two separate cups which made it super helpful. The red bean milk tea was good, good red bean flavor. The fruit smoothies were good too. They also have a promotion now where you get a free chicken drumstick with a $30 order.

Well always in search of good Taiwanese food I really wanted to try Hello Jasmine. The straightforward part: easy street parking in the neighborhood. Always a plus in Chicago. Best part: the food. Ordered cold noodles with chicken and braised pork bento box. Both were excellent and well worth the drive to get there. So why only 3 stars? Well I really hate small businesses that take their customers for granted. If I want that I would go to big chains but I don't because I want to patronize locally owned shops. Why this rant: 1. No greetings when entering or exiting the shop. No acknowledgement you even exist. 2. You have to order at a self ordering kiosk. The kiosk took a few minutes to "wake up". Not really a friendly customer practice. The kiosk had a few handwritten post its notes stuck to it with a list of sold out items. Not really efficient as many patrons ordered stuff that was sold out as they didn't read the post its. This would not happen with an actual person with a smile taking your orders. 3. Dirty tables with no one cleaning them between customers and no supplies available if the customer wanted to clean its own table. So yep the food is good but better customer service would go a long way to make the experience enjoyable. Customer acknowledgement and interaction would be a good place to start.

Hello Jasmine is definitely my preferred spot for bubble tea! They have a great selection and everything I've tried so far has been delicious. My favorites are: - the mango smoothie - taro milk tea - coffee boba shake - grapefruit fruit tea - strawberry milk cloud (which can be vegan!) You really can't go wrong. I've also ordered catering from Hello Jasmine several times, and it's awesome -- such a crowd pleaser! Their catering travels really well (both drinks and food). Their team is so easy to work with. I've basically never had a bad experience from the 30+ times I've ordered from them. Getting Hello Jasmine has kind of become my go-to spot when I need a pick me up, so definitely give them a try!

Not really sure how this shop has such high reviews. Maybe because there aren't a lot of boba options in this area, and geared towards DePaul college students. Waited for a very long time for my very simple Jasmine Green Milk Tea boba which is probably the most standard and basic drink to make, so really should not have taken so long. The drink was mediocre and tasted like very minimal sweetness (I got 80% sweet). Would implore you to look at other boba options in Lincoln Park or Lakeview.

I like the popcorn chicken and crispy Grilled Tofu (8pcs). Roasted Oolong Fresh Boba Milk Tea is pretty good.

Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba Less ice | 100% sweetness DRINK: 4/5 The brown sugar milk tea wasn't that bad, but it wasn't also the best I've had. This brown sugar just tasted a little bit more different. BOBA: 5/5 The boba here were good in texture and firmness. I would say one of the best I've had. SERVICE: 3/5 I had hit or miss experience here so I will fairly put a 3. I'm glad that there is self checkout because last time, the cashier had a miscommunication and I had to wait over 10 minutes for my boba due to error.

Service is so slow. If you have 25-30 minutes to wait for a drink then this is your spot. The worker was wearing headphones and was moving terribly slow. When I went up to ask about my order after 15 minutes, I was told it was coming with no apology. Keep in mind - I was the only person in the place at the time. Better service and drinks other places.

The fried tofu and boba tea are delicious. The ordering kiosk is a comfortable way to make my dinner/snack selection.

I had never had Taiwanese food ever, until I came to Hello Jasmine. And there are two spots, this one by DePaul in Lincoln Park and the other is by Southside Chinatown. Needless to say, this is much closer to me and Lincoln Park is a great place to spend time. As for Hello Jasmine, their food has great taste and crunch and value. I like how the bento boxes provide a whole egg and fried tofu and cabbage and sausage with a ton of rice. That's a great deal. For my main protein, I really enjoy the fried chicken steak, it's typically a generous size and try to have it immediately so you can enjoy that crunchiness with each bite. They have varying degrees of heat so I just have mine mild with sriracha sauce on the side. They have appetizers and milk cloud drinks to quench the heat and your thirst. There's ample parking in the neighborhood and out front (on Webster), on occasion. I will continue to compare and contrast Hello Jasmine with Lisa's Night market in Niles - I think both have similar good tasting food. Finally, I've flown over Taiwan like 30 times but I have to make it a priority to visit the country because it's a foodie destination. :)

Love this place! Friendly staff, fresh food and AMAZING drinks! To name a few reasons to go Super easy to order. You can order online for pick-up or delivery, or in-store with the monitor kiosks. The only downside to ordering online for pick-up is there wont be a notification when your order is ready, but a general pick-up time. There is seating inside. A few tables and some window stools. But it is a comfortable place to be! My go-to is the brown sugar boba, green grass jelly milk teas, along with the chicken steak bento box or the fries with medium spice yummmm

Underwhelming tea. The matcha tea misses the mark but the boba was solid. The popcorn chicken was okay but the sauce was runny. The price doesn't justify the quality.

Super cute place and great options! There are self-order kiosks right at the front but if you need to ask a question, the staff are super friendly. Really delicious drinks! Just as a note - if a drink has the word boba in its name, you don't need to add boba to the order.

Excellent boba. Nice atmosphere and relatively busy. We got the assam black and jasmine milk teas; they weren't overstepped or over sweetened. Would come back for food in the future.

I'm obsessed with bubble/boba tea. Their selection was unique and plentiful... I rarely go outside of the Classic Black milk tea or Green milk tea with tapioca. Food is good, too, but I usually order as a snack and not a meal. I prefer the simplicity and not too sweet! I would even do just Taiwanese Black Tea or Green Tea, and I really wish Hello Jasmine did just Wintermelon Tea.

The boba tea was so good and the tofu bento box was very filling! It was very busy here when we arrived and had to wait for our food and drinks for a while but it was worth it at the end. There is limited seating, so beware! They have a touch screen to order food to go or dine in. Reasonable priced! They also have a menu attached to the window so you can see what to order before going in.

First time trying this place and it's amazing! I got the brown sugar milk tea latte with boba and both the drink and boba was perfect. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

I visited Hello Jasmine today for the first time, and I certainly enjoyed my meal. Originally, I was planning to take my order to go. Thanks to things slowly opening up as that darn Covid thing is getting more and more controlled, there were actually a few tables available for dining in, so I decided to eat my lunch right then and there. It was early (before 11:30 AM) so there was not too bad of a crowd yet. Once I placed my online order via my cel, the young lady behind the plexiglass said that my order should take about 20 minutes. The wait did not seem too bad, as I sat at my table and heard the sizzling noises in the back, a sure sign that my chicken steak was being made to order for me! I would eventually noticed a steady stream of peeps coming in to place orders or to pick up their food to take away. The smallish interior is cozy and colorful, and there is a washroom in the back. I am not sure if it was the food or if I was just hungry, but my bento box featuring chicken steak was delicious. The pieces of chicken were very tasty and the crunch was just perfect, but I also enjoyed every element of the loaded bento box. There was white rice, sausage slices, tofu cubes, soy sauce egg, bok choy, pickled mustard greens, Taiwanese kimchi - that's quite a variety of food items in a colorful little bento box. I am not a fast eater, but I seemed to gobble up this lunch fairly quickly even while dining with wooden chopsticks. Yelp turned me on to Hello Jasmine thanks to a promotion, and after my tasty lunch today I'd sure like to come back sometime to try a tall cool boba beverage.

My son goes to Lincoln Park High School which is right around the corner, so he goes here for lunch. I decided to check it out today and noticed how cute the decor was inside. I ordered the Assam Black Boba Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Boba Tea, Popcorn Chicken and 2 orders of fries. I'm currently eating the fries and sipping my boba as I type this and I must say; it's everything my son told me it would be. I highly recommend this gem to anyone that is in the Lincoln Park area. I'll be back again to try the other teas!

I'm Taiwanese and wished I tried this place sooner. There aren't many Taiwanese restaurants in the Chicagoland. I've been to 529 Cafe in Evanston a few times but this place was definitely much better! It's as good as Taipei Cafe. Ordered － Bone-in pork rib bento － Pork Belly bento － Osmanthuso oolong milk tea Overall - We really enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back to try more things! - I got a discount for a Yelp Elite event but without the discount, I still think it's a great value for ~$10 bento boxes but drinks are a little pricey $5-6 - The pork belly portion was definitely smaller than the pork rib despite the same price - I had some technical difficulties with seeing the menu on my computer but it worked great on my phone - The order experience was pretty easy and allowed some customization of the bento and beverage - Fast prep and easy pickup. My order was ready is ~15 mins for pickup Likes －Loved the flavor of the cute bento box and the variety of sides in the bento: soy sauce braised egg, fried tofu, bok choy, Taiwanese "kimchi", sausage slices, pickled mustard green －The pork rib was juicy. They semi-cut it so that it was still in the form of a pork chop but made it a little easier to eat. - For the bento, you can add meat sauce over the rice, which I got, and any spiciness level, which I opted out of. - For the milk tea, you can choose sweetness level, ice level, add additional ingredients or less tapioca balls, etc. I got less tapioca balls and liked that they were soft and chewy. Dislikes －I've had better pickled mustard green. This needed a bit of sugar to balance out the tartness －Bok Choy was overcooked and was way too soft －Fried tofu would taste better with some meat sauce in my opinion but was still good

Ordered delivery and it was very fast. The food arrived at my house still fairly hot. I sampled a pork rib bento box, fried beef dumpling app, 3 piece chicken wings, and a dragonfruit Yakult green tea. I dug into the bento box first. First of all the packaging is so charming. Very "Asian" aesthetic in mind! It made me think of cute animals turned into cartoons despite the fact I was about to devour them. The pork was very well cooked and incredibly flavorful. That first bite really impressed/surprised me! All the other items in the box were good too. The tofu and soy egg were nice additions. The dumplings are a great app! You actually get a really big portion with a big side of dipping sauce. I think they would go over well in most households. The chicken wings... let me tell you about the chicken wings. What I kind of expected was a "buffalo wing" sort of thing, but these chicken wings were drumsticks that you could probably bang drums with. Like, college marching band sort of drums. They're huge! Very well cooked and the crispy coating is divine. I speculate that the poor chickens were pumped full or steroids to make em that huge. It's worth mentioning that I ordered all these regular "spicy" level (you can choose how little/lot you want) and as a spice lover, I would rate it a little less than spicy. It's an Asian restaurant so I expected more spice, but it was still quite nice. If you really like spicy food, just go all out. The dragonfruit tea was good. I'm not usually into these sorts of drinks and not privy to the little idiosyncrasies that make a tea good or bad. Perhaps I should've tried one of the milk ones, but this one threw me off a bit. The smell I couldn't quite pinpoint. Was it like Granny's house? A shampoo I used once? An ex-girlfriend? I don't know!!! I tried this place through a Yelp Elite promotion which gave me a $12 discount. Because of the $20 minimum order, my total was still pretty significant. It's not a super cheap place, but I think you get a lot for what you pay for. All my items would easily feed two+ and will provide with plenty of leftovers.

Hello Jasmine is one of my favorite boba places in Chicago. I'm so glad a Lincoln Park location finally opened up so I don't have to make a long haul all the way to Chinatown to get some boba. My go-to boba is their brown sugar milk tea (50% sugar) and their peach green tea. Tapioca is always fresh and chewy. If you're hungry, I recommend getting some of their popcorn chicken. Tasty and hits the spot every time! The shop itself has self-service counters. Staff follows COVID-19 guidelines and wears masks at all times. P.S. Students get a 10% discount (bring an I.D.)

Whenever I'm craving bubble tea- hello jasmine comes to mind! VIBE: I love how much of a well oiled machine this store is. You walk in, and immediately are greeted with iPads to place your orders. You can chose the level of sweetness, the amount of ice, and all the add ins you want. You pay through the kiosk and it makes everything exceptionally easy! WHAT I GOT: The brown sugar milk tea- 80% sweet, light ice, add boba!! It was DELICIOUS! I think I could've done 50% sweetness but still, I loved it. I want to go back and try even more tea since I usually stick to what I know when I go. I would be interested in trying their food as well!

Ambiance: A cute shop with limited seating but we took it to-go anyway. Has a lovely tea pun on the IG-worthy grass wall. Service: Love love the kiosks to order food and drinks. They have two of them. It's fast and efficient. They also have automatic hand sanitizer pumps next to them. Very user-friendly. Employees were pumping food out fast. Also s/o to the guy who pronounced my bf's last name right haha. Food: He ordered Chicken with Cold Taiwanese Noodles and said it was good. He liked the peanut sauce it came with to dip the chicken. I had the Popcorn Chicken Bento Box. The breading was crunchy and chicken inside was juicy. I usually love dipping my chicken in a sauce but no sauce was needed for this! It held its own. The rice did have a sauce on top of it though. I loved how the bento box looked, and the bokchoy, tofu, and egg were nice additions. Make sure to check special promotions on the kiosk because he looked and saw free chicken we could add to our order. It was one fried chicken drumstick but it was a hefty boi. I also ordered a Peach Oolong Milk Tea Boba and it was refreshing and not too sweet. The peach added a nice touch to the neutrality of oolong.

O M G Hello Jasmine is super delicious and that's coming for me, a boba girl from Orange County, CA! I was craving for boba here in Chicago, and the only other tea shop I enjoy here is bingo tea in Chinatown. Yelped this place and made a day trip to Lincoln park. We ordered the jasmine fresh milk tea and matcha fresh milk tea at 100% sugar and we were so happpy with how fresh and delicious the teas taste. 80% would prob be good too but we like our tea sweet. The normal milk teas are made from powder according to the shop so I highly recommend the fresh milk teas! Also the boba was soft, chewy and yummy. And the interior design was so chic and cute. Hello Jasmine needs to branch out to downtown Chicago! I hope to come back soon!!

Ordered the Assam Milk Tea and Black Sesame Milk Tea. Assam Milk Tea was not sweet and the Black Sesame Milk Tea was very bitter and water down. Boba in both drinks were on the harder side than would have like. Otherwise, good if you don't like sweet drinks!

I love this place so much because it provides me with authentic Taiwanese food. Taking away some stars because I've recently realized the portion size keeps getting smaller and smaller! I always order delivery, and the chicken steak bento box content just diminishes with each order. I used to get full size chicken steak and filled with side dishes, and today when I opened my bento box it's barely filled and only 4 pieces of chicken. I've attached photos of my order months ago vs today's order. Not sure what's going on but definitely a little disappointing.

"Hello Jasmine" is one of a very few restaurants in the city that specializes Taiwanese street food and beverages. With that being said, I truly appreciate that because I was born and raised in Taiwan and haven't been able to visit Taiwan again in the midst of pandemic. I have gone to their physical location in Lincoln Park a couple of times when I was nearby running errands. However, often times I order their items via Ubereats whenever I could. I think their bubble teas are great. They offer a wide range of customization on ice and sugar. My default is less ice and 0% on sugar. That actually keeps me re-visiting this establishment due to such friendly feature. I'm not a fitness junkie, but I dislike food and drinks that are too sweet. Their roasted oolong boba hits the spot! I like the "combo for 2," which includes two (2) entrees, two (2) sides, and two (2) drinks. Each entree comes in a compact box bento box that has a cool design. The items are packed well with minimum spills. I don't live close to any of their locations in the city whatsoever, so I care much about how easily it is to carry and reheat at home. I don't encounter much trouble whenever being delivered via the 3rd. party platform, so that's definitely is positive in my book! I like their fish tofu and popcorn chicken. Everything I have tried proved to be as authentic as it can be. Chicago has no shortage on great American, western style food options, yet the Asian food scenes are still a work in progress. I hope "Hello Jasmine" would never say adios and continue to thrive in these difficult times for the food and hospitality industries.

I don't have much experience when it comes to the food at Hello Jasmine, but what I can speak on is the boba! I'm fairly new to the world of boba, and to be honest a lot of it can be intimidating to a newbie like myself (sugar percentages? Cheese foam? Types of teas?!) Whenever I'm thinking of ordering boba, I usually end up getting too overwhelmed by all the options and get a coffee instead. Hello Jasmine is very boba beginner friendly. So much so, that I bit the bullet and placed an order! I went with the brown sugar boba coffee latte. This is the PERFECT intro to boba for coffee lovers like myself. It's cold brew, milk (I went with almond), and brown sugar boba. There were tons of additional toppings and items you could add, but I kept the drink as is. I loooooved this drink so much! I initially thought their wouldn't be enough boba, but it was the perfect amount. I would drink this everyday if I could, and it has made me excited to dive further into the world of boba! I drank it so quick that I forgot to snap a photo beforehand, but it was quite the beauty!

I was excited to try this place since it's so highly rated. I ordered the boba milk tea with boba and pudding and it was ok. The boba wasn't chewy, more like Al dente. I might be a little picky cause I'm from the west coast and use to the honey boba style. I will still come back to this place to try the food and other drinks. Still a cute spot for a quick snack/ meal if your in the Lincoln park area.

I mainly go here for food and for the boba...the boba is just extra! I love love love their Taiwanese cold noodles! I'm pescetarian so I love getting it with some fish tofu for some protein but their cold noodles are glorious. They give you plenty of the peanut sesame sauce so even if you're someone who loves their sauce with a side of food...you're good! It's consistently yummy and makes great leftovers. For their boba, it's a bit on the sweet side for me. I usually order 50% sugar at most places but I'd say I should've done less and I keep on forgetting...but I'll be back for the food anyway!

I tried this place today and got the braised pork bento, grass jelly tea, and fried green beans as well as an order of popcorn chicken. I do think this restaurant puts in effort. However some things were not on point. This particular day bok choy was not available. Grass jelly texture was not uniform for whatever reason, there were hard parts and softer parts. Braised pork flavor does not seem to be on the level of a normal street vendor in taiwan. The basil in popcorn chicken isn't the asian basil typically used in taiwanese popcorn chicken - it was the italian type basil u would find at trader joe's. Green beans were just... no. Flavorless. This isnt even an item typically sold in streets of taiwan btw. All this being said, the cost of the "combos" will almost never be the price u see initially - because when you pick your combos the prices for pretty much everything is marked up (+$5 for braised pork bento, $1 for particular drink, etc) I will still come back, to try the blood cake. But if the blood cake doesnt even beat the ones at taiwan's 7-11 it would be really disappointing. My standards are high cuz i am comparing this chicago place to a real taiwanese stall in taiwan. Which i know i shouldnt. But my advice to the owners is they should go to taiwan, taste some street food, and compare it to their own food at Hello Jasmine. 5 stars tho, i encourage and appreciate the concept.

I am traveling from Philadelphia and have been craving for some authentic Taiwanese food. I've invited some friends to join us at hello Jasmine for dinner. They're vegetarians so I was nervous whether this place will have good vegetarian options. We all love the food so much. I got the chicken steak bento box. Yum everything from the chicken steak to the sides are good. We all got boba as well. As a Taiwanese, I would say they're very authentic. My vegetarian friends also enjoy their food very much. I don't remember what they got though.

Well, well, well, well, well... Look who decided to show up to the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Helllloooo Jasmine! It was during one of our family walks around the neighborhood that my wife had noticed this spot and got all excited and wanted to come back later in the day. Oddly, they're closed on Saturdays... WHY?! So ended up coming through the next day, Sunday. Definitely a popular spot, regardless of these pandemic times we are currently in. But having opened recently, they had a special buy one drink, get one free. (Maybe that's why there was a crowd?) Price wise, great deal and you can't argue with BOGO. What's not to love. Drink quality, excellent! Tastes like a cup of some of Taipei best. Drink quality you can customize sweetness to your liking, and the boba... not sure I can ever say I've had boba consistency that compares to what you can get in Taiwan. So there, pretty damn good. Anyways, I've now found our new go to spot without having to go to uptown or chinatown... I see many more trips for boba in my near future. 'Til next time, cheers!
