Incoming Hello Stranger Adds to Little Tokyo’s Nightlife Scene | Eater LA

"Conceived by Angela Romero of Ace Hotel DTLA as a surprise, second-floor getaway in Little Tokyo, this upstairs venue occupies a former Sonny Chiba dojo that’s been transformed with neon lighting, matte-black artwork, cement finishes and adjustable “floating benches” to change the layout. Most nights will feature DJs and live music, with a standalone bar in the back and a separate lounge that can be cordoned off for events or larger gatherings. The full bar will serve cocktails ranging from daiquiris to a boozy horchata, while a small food menu focuses on antojitos — snack-style Mexican dishes — fitting the venue’s late-night, social vibe. There’s no official opening date yet, but it’s expected to debut in the spring." - Farley Elliott

Amazing experience! Our first time here at Hello Stranger totally loved the environment . Nice chill vibe, and the music was jamming 👌 music like that .You can't get me off that dance floor! ! 😄 ☺️ 😃 Friendly staff, great service, and the drinks were excellent! We all had an amazing time celebrating the birthday boy, my son Albert (Dopey). Husband and I definitely loved the spot,we will be returning ☺️ 😊

Been a regular at Hello Stranger since 2022 and I love this hidden gem in the heart of Little Tokyo. The bar itself is a beautiful homage to the Latino lowrider community of Los Angeles, but offers much more than that. Hello Stranger hosts a variety of events, each centered on music and community. The staff are some of the friendliest people on the planet and their menu features some of the smoothest drinks in the entire city. The cocktails cater to my sweet tooth without feeling overwhelming. They’re perfect for savoring while listening to live music/DJs and catching up with friends, as I’ve had the pleasure of doing over the past three years.

Near the heart of little Tokyo I was invited to an amazing evening put on by the mayor of Little Tokyo. Drinks, staff and atmosphere were very friendly. I visited from out of town but I'll definitely be back! In house AV put on by Alex was peak and I'd definitely host an event here. Great to walk around Little Tokyo before and afterwards as well.

LA has an incredibly rich and diverse culture whose presence is reflected by the people that bring this space to life. I highly recommend coming by and experiencing it for yourself…

Chill vibes after catching a concert this week in Hollywood. Thurs night they were doing a DJ set where DJ's could come spin their own stuff, was nice & chill. Drinks were also great, I rec getting the margarita with tajin instead of salt on the rim.

Yelp
Love this hidden gem in Little Tokyo! Enter at the street level entrance and go to the second floor of this non-descript building (look for the signs). Upon entering, there is a beauuutiful bar with the interior design reflecting low-rider culture, overlooking Little Tokyo's 2nd Street. The time I went, a special event was happening called "Saddies and Baddies", a Valentine's pop-up with various vendors, artists, guest chefs and bakers with a live DJ. The owners and staff members were super friendly and cool. I have been told that they host many special nights including hip-hop and music events. I have joined their social media accounts to keep updated on future events. Check them out, especially if you are open to hanging out at a chill space for some day drinking.

Yelp
If you enjoy live music in an intimate setting then Hello Stranger is the place for you. I totally enjoyed the vibe and the music. I saw the group Legally Blynd there and it was GREAT!

Yelp
It's a very cozy cute place. Parking not very difficult. It's located in a very safe area. And is accessible for people with mobility issues. There's an ale stir.

Yelp
Went to Hello Stranger to see the band Olaguay play and had a really great time! Dancing. Fun crowd. Drinks on point. Tamales were for sale that night. A perfect space to enjoy music, meet up with friends, have drinks. Really enjoyed the whole vibe. Metered parking is free at night. Read the signs.

Yelp
First of all, shout out to my homie SmooveDontMiss (@DonSleven) had a performance here and it was amazing. The vibe was perfect. Acoustically, there were some challenges considering there was a drummer and guitars but loved how intimate the space was. The bartenders were incredible. The drinks were amazing.

Yelp
An amazing small business and laid back spot for drinks, vinyl, and community! The whole space has themed nods to classic low-rider car culture motifs, all very tasteful and subtle, but there IYKYK

Yelp
