Henn na Hotel New York

I will come back to the Henn Na Hotel! I arrived in the dark so I couldn’t appreciate the location and surroundings until daylight. The hotel is tall and narrow. My friend and I were on the 9th floor. SO nice that only six rooms on that floor. Very quiet. The futon style bed was very comfortable and the pillows were just soft enough. The room was large and I appreciated having the electric tea kettle. When I arrived (the night before my friend) there was no bath mat or belts for the robes. I left a note for housekeeping when I went out and everything was taken care of when I returned. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive. I also love the location - very close to 34th Penn Station subway and easy to get places and back.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting New York City. The location is absolutely fantastic—if you use the underground passage, it’s just one street to walk outside before you reach the connection to Penn Station. This convenience made getting around the city incredibly easy and stress-free. The hotel itself is very new and impeccably clean. Our double room was spacious, with large full-sized beds (around 1.3 meters wide) that were comfortable enough for two people to share. The room even had a hot water kettle, which is such a thoughtful touch. The bathroom was also impressive, featuring a high-end Japanese smart toilet that added a touch of luxury to the experience. After checking out, I reached out to the front desk with questions about our shared billing, and they provided a detailed and clear response very quickly. Their customer service was exceptional, and they were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations, and I’m grateful for the excellent service. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and look forward to staying here again on my next trip to NYC!

This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. Done in a Japanese style, it was clean, with extra niceties like slippers, robes, steam cleaning for dress clothes, and fancy toilets (with lots of functions including warm seat). Close to both Madison square garden, empire State building, and times square... The central location made the New York trip easy and enjoyable. Staff was always available and very helpful and polite.

Cutting costs in weird ways - the hotel is apparently a four star, but lacks basic amenities. For example there is no coffee maker in the room, only a kettle with two packets of green tea. Very strange. They don't provide bottles of water, they say there's water on the eighth floor. But the water machine is basically a drinking fountain with no cups to use. Speaking of cups, they only have paper ones in the room, no glass. No amenities is like a shower cap, etc. The front desk is very understaffed and poorly run. The housekeeping staff are delightful however. I had a nice chat with the woman who made up my room. I understand hotels can't be all things to all people, but the cost cutting measures they've implemented are easy to fix and make a big difference.

Great hotel in a fantastic location.||Public transport to or from both LaGuardia or JFK airports is very easy and cheap with the hotel only 2 blocks from Penn Station.||Getting around the city or over to Brooklyn very simple by foot or subway given the hotels location.||If your looking for good coffee, directly across the street was Madman Espresso, as good as any coffee I’ve had in Australia.||Also in in the street are two awesome bagel houses and a few good bars for cold beers/magaritas, bar food and sports.||The rooms are spacious, clean and well presented. ||Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. ||I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to NYC.

Great hotel at reasonable price. I visited NY for a business trip of a week and a half and this place suited my needs perfectly: rooms are excellent size for NY/ hotel is clean, modern, quiet. Fridge is great size and room has plenty of space for your things. Extra points for the clothes steamer and heated toilet seat! Definitely plan on staying here again.

What a fun hotel. It's the "strange" hotel (in Japanese) and greets people with a mechanical dinosaur at its door. Unlike the hotels in Japan, though, it has human (not robot) front desk staff. The staff are all wonderful (Rachel helped me -- she was awesome!) and friendly, and the hotel is just a few blocks away from Penn Station and Times Square. The Japanese-style toilet and the self-cleaning closet were a nice addition.

Perfect location within walking distance to many places on our list of NY things to see and do! Was offered early check in when we arrived around noon which was great as we didn't even ask for this. We were in one room with 2 double beds on the 18th floor. Spacious room and bathroom which was a big plus. We requested extra pillows, robe, towels, iron and ironing board and this was delivered within 10 minutes! While it had ample space on the console below the TV that was as long as the sleeping area there were no drawers to store clothing, one small shelf area above the safe and the hanging space was quite small - with 3 of us for 5 days we placed clothes directly on the console table (think the suites have extra drawers etc). While there were numerous coffee shops all around it would have been convenient to have some coffee in the room for early morning (only a kettle and disposable cups provided), failing that a coffee machine in the level 2 lounge area would have been nice to avoid having to go outside. There is a water dispenser on the 8th floor so you could refill your water bottle. Did not try the onsite Japanese 'restaurant' (it's more like a small eatery not what I would consider a restaurant). The housekeeping staff that we encountered when going and coming in the elevators were all super friendly. We had a late flight on departure and we checked out at 11 a.m. and our luggage was stored until it was time to go to the airport. All front desk staff super friendly and helpful. The dinosaur was always entertaining coming and going :) Only area of concern what that there was no 'check' on people coming in and out nor was the elevator operating with your room card so felt like anyone could walk in and go in the elevator to any area (there was a 'door/security' man out front but they weren't checking anyone coming in from what we saw/experienced). Would I stay again? Absolutely, it was good value for money and location was perfect.

The Henn na hotel is in a prime spot in Manhattan, with Times Square, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and many other tourist spots only a short walk (or subway ride) away. There are entrances to the subway close by which is convenient and makes it easy and affordable to get around the beautiful city. We enjoyed being able to explore Manhattan on foot and walk to the different attractions and sites that were on our must-visit list. There are many food spots close by as well, including a popular bagel spot next door to the hotel as well as the famous Joe's Pizza just a short (~10 minutes) walk away. There is also a CVS around the corner from the hotel that we stopped by during our stay to buy essentials. The hotel was beautiful and spotless, from the entrance to the room. You walk into the hotel and are greeted by not only the wonderful staff but also an animatronic T-Rex! If you have kids, trust me they will love this hotel. We saw people almost every day standing outside admiring the T-Rex and taking pictures of him through the front windows of the hotel. The customer service we received was excellent throughout our entire stay. All of the staff were attentive and welcoming. A special shout out to Jennifer from the front desk who was incredible and made us feel welcomed. I am super appreciative to her for all her help throughout our stay. Any questions I had she was more than happy to answer. She also made many great recommendations on places to visit in NYC. On our way up to our room, a guest in the elevator with us told us that we made the right decision to stay at Henn na. She mentioned how beautiful it is and how magnificent the housekeeping staff is. She was not wrong! The room we stayed in was spotless, tidy, spacious, and beautiful. I was fascinated by the Japanese style of the room. The wifi was excellent. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a vanity-style mirror, and even a bidet. My boyfriend and I slept soundly every night with clean and comfy sheets and pillows. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. A big thank you to the housekeeping staff for keeping our room spotless and tidy, especially Evelyn. She made sure that we were always happy and comfortable. Anything that we needed or wanted, Evelyn was on it. On top of that, she was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. Something that I really enjoyed about our hotel that probably no other hotel in NYC has was the LG styler closet in our room. It refreshes and sanitizes your laundry which is so useful, especially after a long sunny day out exploring NYC. We used it almost every day to refresh our clothes. Henn na is an amazing hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone planning on visiting NYC. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit. Thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary trip and my first trip to the Big Apple enjoyable and memorable.

Stayed here three nights in Feb, as a family of 4. We got a room with two double beds. I have heard complaints about other hotels near Times Square, because of the noise. This hotel is quiet, yet only about a 10 minute walk to Times Square. It is two blocks to Penn Station, which makes it accessible to the LIRR (from JFK) or the subways around town. Staff was friendly and helpful. An added bonus was having a Liberty Bagels on the same block. Also, the toilets are very nice!!

This is a pleasant hotel conventionally located a couple of blocks from Madison Square Garden (and more important for me, Penn Station). The distinctive aspect is the dinosaur in the lobby, but the rooms, beds, bathrooms, etc. are all fine. Nice place, I would stay here again.

Henn na Hotel is by far the best hotel I've stayed at. To start off, you are greeted with a T-Rex in the hotel lobby. During check-in, I saw people outside taking pictures of the unique lobby. A guest even told me that they decided to stay at the hotel solely for the T-Rex because their kid loved it so much. While I'm on the subject of checking in, I would like to recognize the wonderful front desk staff Rachel and Stephanie. Both ladies were very welcoming and made us feel at home as soon as we walked through the doors. They were also very helpful during our stay; giving us suggestions on places to visit in NYC, helping make reservations, and arranging transportation, along with anything else we needed. If there is one quality that makes Henn na stand out, it is the cleanliness! Henn na's cleanliness was impeccable. Walking into the hotel was like walking into a spa with the ambiance and tranquility that speaks volumes of Henn na's unique qualities. Our room was always SPOTLESS thanks to our wonderful room attendant Nancy. I cannot stress enough the importance of coming back to a room that makes you feel so at home and ready to rest & recharge for the next day's adventures! The room that we stayed in featured the LG Styler closet - which was a first for me. It was such a convenience being able to refresh your clothes right before putting them on or after wearing them out all day. It was a game-changer for sure! The location of Henn na is also such an advantage when visiting NYC. Being so close to famous landmarks such as Times Square, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Rockefeller Center, and The Vessel at Hudson Yards, made it so convenient. Not to mention, there was a subway entrance 2 minutes away that got you on the 1train which takes you up/down Manhattan. Being in a centralized location also made it very easy whenever we got hungry. Henn na has a bagel place right next door which is a must try for breakfast. Also, 10 minutes away from the famous Joe's Pizza, which we frequented every night. Not to mention all the other food spots that are within shouting distance from the hotel. I would like to thank the whole team at Henn na for making my visit to NYC such a wonderful experience. I cannot give enough praise to the staff that made our stay an enjoyable one. I will not be going to any other hotel other than Henn na whenever I'm in NYC!

Have had a great time here! Close to subway, places to grab great coffee and healthy breakfasts...just a couple blocks from Time Square if that's your thing. We loved having the Clothing Steamer and Sanitizer in the room. We found the staff to be friendly, and our room was really clean! Thank you

Today, Wednesday February 9th at noon I went to the Henn Na Hotel on West 35th Street in NYC. As member of NYC&COMPANY, the official Tourism Office of our City "NYCGO.COM" what was my surprise when I found at the entrance desk, the most disgusting person I have ever found in any of the city's hotels. As an official lecturer and owner of a Official tour agency, I was planning to send visitors to this hotel starting this year, as I do with many other ones around town, but the rude and uneducated behavior of this "gentleman" has put this hotel in our black list in our official office.

I stayed few month back when few weeks after they open.I was there little early so I leave suitcase at the hotel. After 4 pm they are just time to check in! Not many line so pretty easy check i . I like dinosaur waiting for customers at front of hotel. Hotel is new so room is new too. Many place I stayed new hotel is always kind same . Very simple, no frills. But here... different. Gadget! 1 toilet.2 Steam closet. Both are very nice addition for very newer simple hotel. I use steam closet not uses iron! Great !! Toilet is kind ok for me! ( I'm Japanese this one from Japan I know) any way I love this cozy hotel but no gym room so I just pull 1 star ...

Stayed here during my recent visit to New York and had a great experience here. The location is central to so many things and we were able to walk to most places. We arrived about two hours before check-in but luckily the room was ready and we were able to check in earlier. There is a neat robotic T-Rex in the lobby, which is interesting but different. All the concierge and staff members there were super friendly and helpful during our stay and were quick to bring us any extra items that we were needing. The rooms are on the larger side, considering this is NYC. The restrooms are a decent size and also come with a bidet. There was also a garment steamer/sanitizer in the room, which was really neat. I was able to put my wrinkled dresses in there and in about 20 minutes, the wrinkles were gone! The rooms also coming with a mini fridge which is always nice to have. If you're looking for a clean and conveniently located hotel in New York, be sure to keep this one on your list!

Stayed here over the weekend for the 5 Boro's Bike Tour. It is located a couple of blocks from Penn Station. For NY city the price was great (less than $600 for 2 nights) and we got double deluxe rooms so we were able to share. It is definitely no frills. There is no art on the walls (but the do have a dinosaur!)no coffee pot and no minibar. The beds were really comfortable. If you like a soft bed you will love these. I didn't love the hand held shower head but I managed and I did like the full size toiletries in the bath room. I did try the hotel restaurant but there were lots of places in walking distance to eat and drink. It is a 10 minute walk to Times Square. The walls seem to be paper thin, I could literally hear the person next door snoring! All in all it was a good stay though.

Stayed here for 10 days in early April and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The hotel staff was incredibly nice, accommodating and helpful and on top of this their housekeeping service was arguably one of the best I have experienced! The location is right in Midtown which makes it easy to get to anywhere else in New York. The room was pretty large for two people, we definitely felt like we had space. Despite them not having any drawers or dressers, they do have a nice LG steamer which works like a charm. The bathroom was up to date and has a bidet as well, another nice touch. Anytime we had to get something for the room - new sheets, hangers, or turn down service, the hotel staff was on it ASAP and had it completed in 15 minutes max. I was seriously so impressed with this! On top of this, the price was a little cheaper than other New York hotels that we looked at. I would definitely stay here again!

Location is near so many train lines, Penn Station, and Times Square so it really is central to a lot of transportation options. The front desk staff were super accommodating and friendly. There are some luggage lockers in the lobby where they will happily hold your luggage if you need. The room (stayed in a deluxe single king) is HUGE for nyc midtown. If you have never stayed in a midtown hotel before, these rooms are easily almost double the size of a typical room in the area. The bed was super comfortable, even asked them what kind it was because it was easily the most luxurious feeling bed I have experienced in a midtown non-luxury hotel! The bathrooms all have Toto toilets which have heated seats and bidet controls and this alone makes the experience worth it (hah). Shower had amazing water pressure and wonderful full amenities by C.O. Bigelow. There was an LG Styler steam closet which was incredible: it refreshes clothing and steams wrinkles out. The room itself has no art which felt peaceful and the tv had streaming capability. There were no closets or cupboards for clothing but whatever, there were hangers for clothes and a rack and some shelves (also you have a steam closet to make things look great again anyway). I will take a large room with a great bed and awesome amenities over tons of storage anyday. Another plus is there is a great bagel place literally almost next door to the hotel and other food options nearby. I Doordashed food to the hotel one night and that worked well too. No real cons for the room or hotel. I have stayed at quite a few midtown hotels that were more expensive that weren't as clean or nicely appointed. For the price this place cannot be beat! That said, it's midtown west which has always been grunge-y since the 80s. Be aware at all times basically. It's not the hotels fault regarding the area! Also I will take being near so many trains over being isolated.

I been trying for the past 2 months to get a refund I been trying to get in touch with the general manager for 2 months everytime I call i get told the manager is not in and they dont know when he will be in . I paid 1,332 for 3 nights we never got a chance to use the room and a few hours later after booking i went back to cancel which the nasty front desk staff ( they all are except one ) told me i wasnt due for a full refund but they will refund me $711 which i agreed to it 2 months later they are claming I stood at this hotel which i been asking the manager to show me videos of me coming out of the room for 3 nights or where is the check out paper work , key activation and 2 months later I am being changed $1332 dollars from my debit card ( please dont use your debit card here ) use your credit card i been trying to file a claim with the bbb which has failed because they are not a register business horrible horrible experience , i been waiting today to receive a call back from the manager since last night ( no call , no email ) nothing asking for Videos of oct 7 ,8 & 9

I had a horrible experience at this hotel this past weekend. The room smelled like cigarettes and there was a lot of garbage under the bed when I checked in. When I brought this up to the front desk, the "manager" accused me of trying to get a free night of stay from them. The room itself was large, but the service was absolutely horrendous. Needless to say I checked out immediately and booked a room at a different hotel.

We didn't realize it until after our stay, but the hotel opened the day we made out reservation, The staff was very eager and extremely accommodating and the ambiance was somewhat quirky with the robotic dinosaur in the lobby and the prison-esque luggage lockers, but it was very unique and beautiful. For their first weekend of operation, they operated very smoothly and overall we were impressed once we found out. Additional lights in the room would have been nice, and the room phone wasn't connected, and the soap dispensers were tricky to use at first, but overall, nothing was amiss that couldn't be chalked up to being brand new and probably won't be an issue for visitors in the near future.

We loved our stay at the Henn na hotel! The two double beds were a cozy fit for our family of four. The beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of space to store luggage. The location was amazing, with quick access to subway stations, shops, and Liberty Bagels! Our room was very quiet at night, and the cooler worked nicely. The front desk was very attentive and helpful. Overall, we had a great experience, and would definitely stay here again.
