Henrietta Review: A Casually Excellent Neighborhood Restaurant | Eater LA

"A casually excellent neighborhood restaurant-market in Echo Park, this spot pairs a welcoming posture with a winning menu of accessible modern Californian dishes, making it great for a casual date or low-key dinner. Start with the unusual persimmon and avocado salad with endive and red onion; the blend of sweet, bitter, sharp, and rich isn’t wholly intuitive but really works, with ingredients layered so you can scoop a little of each and buttermilk dressing smoothing the spikier edges. Distinctly unphotogenic ricotta dumplings—oblong beige lumps in a brownish broth—make up for their homeliness with comforting depth; the wrappers are pleasingly toothsome, and I’d accept the server’s recommendation to get grilled bread to sop up the broth. Striped bass arrives with crispy skin and equally crispy sunchoke shavings over a bed of green chile sauce; the char plays well with the hearty fish and the contrasting textures yield fun bites. The room feels warm and comfortable with a vintage bent—a stylish mishmash of posters and photos covers an alcove and plates look like your grandmother’s without the stains and chips—and evenings buzz with couples and friends or even a small company holiday dinner; it gets crowded but not chaotic. Beyond dinner, it doubles as a market with curated food gifts; owner Max Lesser is especially proud of the tea selection, including local Flowerhead and a few special jars from Bellocq Teas in Brooklyn, which you can also order as an after-dinner sip." - Ben Mesirow

Henrietta - Review - Echo Park - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Echo Park has a new all-day, market-restaurant hybrid that comes from aChi Spaccaalum. During the day, Henrietta makes sandwiches like a turkey porchetta panini, while dinner has plates like short rib rigatoni, ricotta dumplings, and pork collar. There’s a big wine shelf along the wall, plus tables stocked with things that would make great last-minute gifts for your grandma, like fancy jams and olive oils." - Cathy Park

A Chi Spacca Alum Opens a Charming California Bistro in Westlake | Eater LA

"A new all-day deli, market, and restaurant on the edge of Echo Park and Westlake, this spot from Max Lesser (who previously opened Chicago’s the Publican and worked at Chi Spacca) sits in the same complex as Clark Street Bakery. Daytime brings sandwiches like a broccolini panini and turkey porchetta alongside deli case dishes such as a lima bean salad made with Rancho Gordo beans. In the evening, the menu shifts to ricotta dumplings, rigatoni topped with short rib, and a half chicken that’s a nod to San Francisco’s Zuni Cafe. The independent producer-focused wine list, guided by Katie Vonderheide (previously of Silverlake Wine), spans bottles including Old World Chianti, French chilled red, and Spanish cava; bottles are also available to take home, and dinner reservations are available on Resy." - Rebecca Roland

Every dish was fantastic! Persimmon salad (the buttermilk dressing is insane), ricotta dumplings, fried broccoli (sleeper hit everyone was getting the potatoes but we went for green!), fish with grapes and persimmon chips, oh and the apple galette! 🤤 Such a special meal, the servers and owner who spoke with us were a delight and the ambience was perfect. We got advice on what to order from the diners who sat before us and gave our advice to the diners who arrived after. It was just such a warm and delightful environment. Can’t wait to return!

First of all the food. We went for lunch and it was all delicious. Literally each item. Faves were Shredder and chicken cutlet and turkey sammie. Husband loved mushroom dip. Also got really good chocolate chip cookies. Tried a couple wines all great. Shopped the market for some gifts. High end olive oil, butter cookies and tinned fish. Heading back this weekend for dinner. Service was great. Getting their reps in but couldn't be more gracious and welcoming. Ambiance is 10/10. Decor is so cute, it felt like a little neighborhood bistro from our east coast days. Will be returning many times! Food was so good I forgot to take pix but will next time.

We had dinner here and the food was amazing! Service was also incredible! We went back the next day for lunch and had the sandwiches which are also really good. Can’t recommend this place enough for lunch and dinner (both different vibes but equally as good of a time)

I loved my visit to Henrietta. The vibe was cozy, the food was DELICIOUS and the wine was... incredible. I am a vegetarian and my favorite dishes were the ricotta dumplings, persimmon salad, broccolini and the jam and cheese (so perfect on the baguette). We got the chilled red wine which was so light and refreshing and I got another glass of a white wine I can't quite recall. The wine list was great all around. Our server was soo sweet and even though they just opened, knowledgeable of the menu. I really enjoyed my visit here and can't wait to come back.

Google
Found this new spot and I love it. Really tasty, special food, clearly understand how to make simple things special. Seems to be their thing. All their items for sale seemed high end but not crazy expensive - like some great looking wines in the 15 buck range. Sandwich was delightful enough that saying “sandwich” seems a little diminutive. Can you tell we liked it? Cozy teas. Cute place. Perfect for lunch. Wanna try come back for dinner.

Yelp
My partner and I came here by chance because we were walking by it and the food and the staff did not disappoint! Chef Alexis is incredible, and it was so sweet than she came up to serve us our food for every dish. It was all incredible- highlights for me were the tempura broccoli and the chocolate tart! The other staff were also so kind and welcoming - not what I was expecting from a fancy place. 11/10 food - it is a little pricey but it's legit farmers market stuff w a rotating menu. Hope they stick around and I'm excited to see the other dishes! Great for a casual meal or a classy date night. Thanks Henrietta for taking such great care of us even tho we were in gym clothes!

Yelp
On a recent trip to LA, went with some friends to this new place. We went for dinner, and the food was incredible. We all left in awe of the dishes we had. Not only was the food good, it was beautifully presented. My favorite was the ricotta dumplings - we got two orders of them! Even the butter served with the baguette was excellent. Space is smallish but feels nice and airy, was fun to see a bit into the kitchen. Would 100% recommend this place.

Yelp
We went back having gone for lunch to try the dinner, and every single item was delicious. We had the baguette with all the sides and especially loved the liver moose and the butter that they make in house. The tuna Crudo was outstanding. And the beef tartar was as advertised by our waiter, like your friends, older brother who got really cool and smoked cigarettes. It really packs a punch not your typical tartar. The ricotta dumplings come in a mushroom broth that is pure comfort food, and so tasty. We had an endive salad with persimmon that was light and cleansing before moving onto The Seabass, pork collar and chicken. All were excellent. The fried broccolini and Henrietta potatoes made lovely sides. I'll have to come back and order less so I can save room for dessert next time. We came on a rainy night and the ambience was so cozy and our server was very friendly and made us feel at home. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Great new place! Was looking for a new spot to have lunch w a friend. This place is lovely. Had a delicious chicken Milanese sandwich and potatoes to share. Friend has great looking avocado chop salad w chicken. Lovely tea selection. Looks like super well curated retail goods like wines, teas, other yummy things. Very nice people. Only open a week. Was kinda glad no one had found it yet but won't take long. Special place.

Yelp
SO delicious! We got a catered lunch for 25 people for our office from this new spot and there were 25 very happy people. Had the turkey porchetta, broccolini panini, and the shredder sandwiches, along with avocado chop salad and chicken Caesar panzanella. The whole office couldn't stop talking about the potatoes, they were AMAZING. And the cookies too. Cannot wait to try their dinner menu!
