"Her Thai, which opened on May 24, 2023, serves traditional Thai street food inspired by co-owner Mindy's childhood in Bangkok. The menu includes pad thai and the Tiger Dog, and the restaurant is designed with a to-go concept." - Taylor Kocher

This was our second time eating at Her Thai and won’t be our last. Our first time, we were hungry driving down the road and decided to randomly stop here. Both times I got the pad see ew and he got the drunken noodles. Both times the flavors were amazing. I’ve tried a few Thai restaurants in LA and this is by far my favorite! Not only is the food amazing but the lady running the place is so sweet and welcoming. Also, the lychee drink is delicious!! Thank you again ❤️

You could taste the basil in the green curry and it felt so flavourful and fresh. They used roasted eggplants in it too, which worked really well even if it wasn’t usual. The Papaya Salad was great but could use just a little more fish sauce (but just a personal preference). The Kra Pow was stellar, and tasted a bit different from what we usually have but in a good way. The chicken larb portion was so big and went well with the sticky rice. You cant go wrong with the food here. It feels like thai chilies were substituted for habaneros, which was a surprising twist. As someone who’s a stickler for Thai food, a place like this has managed to make me a fan of Thai food in America. Will be coming back whenever I’m in town 🙏🏻

I finally was able to have lunch at this hot new Thai spot in the Mid-City area today and was NOT disappointed! The food was delicious, authentic (I've been to Thailand many times), and the portions were perfect and plentiful. I had the CRISPY ROLLS and they were great - Mindy, the owner gave me some spicy sauce on the side to try and it was at just the right heat-level. I also had the CHICKEN LARB appetizer which was delicious and went will with the HEALTHY RICE side order I got to go with it. I also tried the YELLOW CURRY with chicken and as a curry aficionado I can safely say it was just cooked perfect. For a new restaurant, they are really on target with the food, not a bad dish in the lot. I also tried the LYCHEE MINT drink, refreshing and delicious, as well as the THAI ICED COFFEE w/ coconut milk and it was SO good, and get it with the coconut milk defiantly. This is a very casual setting, ideal for takeout, but there is a little bit of seating inside and a little more outside if you want to hang out and enjoy the ambience.

Google
The food was pretty good. I wouldn’t say that it’s the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to but the food was tasty and the workers were kind. I ordered chicken wings, papaya salad, eggrolls, and rice. The only thing that had me confused was the service. It was like a take out style dine in service where you had to go to the register to order and pay for your food, the food was served in paper containers, and you have to pour your own water. However, if you choose to “dine in” the cashier would bring out your food for you, and you would tip like a customary dine in service. So if you’re looking to dine in, expect an incomplete dine in experience with some “take out” components. Overall, my experience was good. The staff was very friendly.

Google
SO yummy! We got the crispy wontons, Pad Thai with chicken, and Pad See Ew with chicken - all had amazing flavor. Super happy this is nearby, plus the price for the portions you’re getting is awesome!

Google
My first time eating here and the Pad Thai was delicious!!!! Great customer service, calming atmosphere. I will definately be back.

Google
1. Parking sucks 2. Portions are too small for the price. 3. Beef is too dry. 4. Never need to dine here ever again.

Google
Yummy food and great service! I only wish it weren’t so expensive, otherwise I’d be walking over for a bite more often. It’s my second time here and I’ve been shocked at the total each time. The street food vibes are there, just not street food prices…

Yelp
Came here for the khao soi, but it was just aight. The search continues. The som tum is very fresh and clean tasting. Definitely mild and catering to American mouths, but good. The real superstar is the orange chicken, oddly enough. It's the best orange chicken I've had, hands down. Worth the trip for this alone. Great Thai tea too!

Mary C.

Yelp
Her Thai is the same owners as Met Her At A Bar. It is family owned and Her Thai is so good. The service is the best and the place is just too cute. You will love it. The prices are fair for what you get. Everything is fresh. The chicken wings and crispy won tons are my personal favorite on the starter menu. The lemongrass Tom Yum Kai is great. I also love the spicy shrimp salad. For mains, you will love the Pad Se Ew. It has tons of broccoli and the best flat noodles. Everything is great.

Catrina R.

Yelp
This is my second time here and what a thoroughly enjoyable experience! First of all the service is fantastic. Everyone was wonderful and the owner was even bussing tables and making sure everyone was having a good time. We got the Tiger dog and the wontons to start with. Both incredibly tasty. We had the drunken noodle and the curry. The curry sauce was absolutely insane! Would drizzle that on literally everything. Ended the night with the sticky mango rice. The perfect end to my night. Lots of to go orders came in and out while we were seated so I can foresee myself doing that in the future. It's a cute little place with a few tables and bar seating. Perfect casual place! Parking can be a bit rough but there's a lot one block north and one block west. Will definitely return!

Eric B.

Yelp
Super quick service. Delicious food. Ambience is nothing special, but this is a hang with friends and loved ones place, not a first date place. And again, great food. Extra-good eggplant and tofu!

Olivia T.

Yelp
Got takeout tom kha kai and it was so healing. Soup was made on time and very fast. Very kind people there.

Ashley D.

Yelp
Easy place with excellent Thai food! We have a NYC palate and they didn't disappoint. Service was young, hip and cool. I appreciated her vibe.

Barbara V.

Yelp
Food is consistently good. Staff friendly and open to suggestions like can the beef be marinated a little longer! I continue to be a repeat customer!

Maya E.

Yelp
Insanely delicious and fresh!!! Good customer service, clean, etc. Will definitely be my go to Thai place. Pad see ew with chicken & the drunken noodles with shrimp.. amazing!!!!! Enough for 2 meals each entree. Thai tea was good but not the best though, not very sweet and has a smoky flavor. Chicken and shrimp was high quality breast meat with no fat!! Thank you everyone, will be back!'

Amber C.

Yelp
I'm sad to say... this was a very disappointing meal. I had high hopes because I love "Met him at a bar" and they have the same owners. However, this place really let me down. The chicken larb was absolutely disgusting. I ordered it "mild" but it was still too spicy. Also, it had a really nasty unsettling taste that sort of lingered on my pallet. In addition, it was too salty. It was so bad I had to throw it away after a few bites. Sigh* I'm sad my money was wasted and my hunger not fulfilled. The crispy vegetarian wontons were actually very good. I would order those again. I guess I might try other things they have in the future, but I would be very hesitant.

Edward E.

Yelp
Hits every single time. The pad sew ew is their greatest dish and you can always ask for special condiments !

Mia C.

Yelp
There are way better Thai places out there. I don't understand why they would pack a cold dessert with hot food. Nasty. Also if you order fried rice it's burnt and the ratio of scallion and onion vs rice is ridiculous. Not only is this not tasty it's beyond expensive. $70 for fried rice, Tom kha soup, wontons and sticky rice is a robbery. I get they everything on uber eats is more expensive but the store fees are wild

Mae M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal at Her Thai! Both the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were crowd favorites and very tasty. I also felt that the price was worth the portion size and the food came out very quickly. One downside is that they have very limited inside seating and the small patio out front doesn't have heaters. It definitely a big take out spot and I will likely do that for future visits.

Taryn I.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at Her Thai. The atmosphere was like a take out restaurant rather than a sit down but we sat down at one of the outdoor tables and had a great time. The food was good, we loved the lychee mint drink and enjoyed the Pad Thai and Pad See-Ew. I would probably try something new the next time I come. The staff was really nice and the owner checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our food. He said he worked here, how humbling.

Shannon N.

Yelp
Even though Thai food is not my usual go-to, I wanted to give Her Thai a try after the staff across the way at Met Her told me about it. I had such a good time there that I wanted to see what this new concept had to offer. Looking at their menu prior, there were actually a few things I wanted to try. There are two ordering screens to your right as you walk in-which lets you make some modifications-but you can always order with an actual human, which is what I did. I was trying to narrow it down between the fried rice and the yellow curry, which she told me was the mildest of what they had curry-wise, and a little bit on the sweet side. I decided to add the chicken to it as well. Self-serve water with lemon is also at the counter so I'm already happy. Seating is either a counter, a table at the front inside, or some tables and chairs outside on La Brea. There were two other parties present that chose outside so naturally I stayed at the counter. Took about 5 minutes and they bring the food to you, utensils were right in front (no knives though, at least on display). She was spot-on, this was a tiny bit sweet which I didn't mind but darn, even the mildest versions of some foods will set me back. My weak palate had to take some breaks in between, but it was good! The potatoes and carrots were especially saturated so they had the most kick. Steamed rice was excellent; not undercooked as some places do, and was great on its own even though I mixed some in. Glad I added the chicken to this. Plenty of water on hand as I attempted to finish most of my food while there. She brought over a lid for the bowl of curry, and a thoughtful touch of a small plastic bag to put it in as an additional precaution. Smart! Keep in mind this kind of food, even while packaged accordingly, will linger in your car, etc. They still have a grand opening sign up even though they've been open for about a month but the more attention, the better. Her Thai is worth a stop, whether you're a Thai food fan, or a weakling such as myself. Looking forward to returning! EDIT: Returned for the chicken fried rice minus egg/white onion, this was very good as well! Same crusty valet on the weekend that I had last time when I went to Met Him At A Bar; said I get 5 minutes, I was out in 3. I'll be back for sure-

Hattie S.

Yelp
This place is great! And the price is right! Very casual ambience, all utensils are toss ware. The pad Thai had a different flavor than what I'm used to, but it was tasty and very fresh. Fresh rolls were tasty, and I wanted to steal a bucket of the peanut sauce. Will be returning!

Joy A.

Yelp
Dropped in on the fly and I am such a fan of the restaurant owners in this corner! Met Her at the Bar, Met Him at the Bar and now Her Thai! The place is hip and cute. I love the graphics and the colors! The person behind the counter was very helpful and friendly and though you order up at the counter, he went out of his way to grab me water, brought my dishes to my table and checked on me constantly. I ordered the wings and the Kao Soi Kai. The wings are so delicious! Hard fried to a crisp and it comes with a sweet chili sauce. The Kao Soi Kai is under the curry menu and this is the only dish that does not come with rice because it is a noodle soup dish. It is topped with fried noodles for extra texture and a whole drum stick. OMG, this is my idea of comfort food. It almost tastes like a dish that my father makes but it's good enough for me. Slight heat but not spicy. Overall, this is a great introduction meal for me and would love to try the rest of the menu.

Horecee S.

Yelp
I can't get enough of this place and I definitely did not expect to have this obsession in my life right as I'm trying to get my summer body together. This place is the perfect random casual lunch spot. A Labrea is a little noisy but if you can get past that, Beautiful patio and friendly service. So these chicken wings are best in city. I tell no lie. so flavorful and crispy crispy crispy!!!! I had their kra pow which was so good and well prepared but my favorite is the Pad see ew with chicken. I told myself I would only eat half and I failed. For comparison, I think their food is much better than Thai thing, Natalee Thai, and noree.

Steven L.

Yelp
I've ordered DoorDash from here a handful of times and each time it's been amazing. My go to is the pad see ew with chicken. The pad see ew is flavorful, always comes piping hot and the portions are more generous than other Thai places in the area. Haven't tried their other dishes since the pad see ew is so good!

Yula K.

Yelp
Walked by here a few weeks ago when they were about to open and then made it back today once they were finally ready for business! Everything we ate was yummy but truthfully my husband and I were still both very hungry after we finished our meal The wontons were delicious-- light and crispy with a sweet and tangy sauce. Pad Thai was nice, felt like there were more bean sprouts than noodles but I also split it with my husband so maybe he was just eating all the noodles before I got to them?? I really enjoyed the smiling tiger. The nice woman at the counter called it one of their specialties. I guess I was expecting a little more tbh. We ordered to-go and though it tasted good, it was just a bit of beef and broccoli. I guess compared to their other two restaurants I was hoping for a little more, but I'm so excited to see how this establishment grows and will certainly come back to try more.

Geva J.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times. I've NEVER been disappointed. The quality, quantity, and price of the food is well worth every penny. The staff are very friendly and care about the business.

Maya S.

Yelp
So I really want to give them more stars because I love the food. However, every time I get the smiling Tiger and order medium-rare I get well done steak. I even asked the girl today to tell the chefs to make sure my meat is not well done. Unfortunately, that didn't help. I just really want to inform the owners that the meat is not coming out medium rare and if we don't have a choice to please remove medium-rare from the menu.

Laura R.

Yelp
So delicious and convenient! It's nice to support the Met Him/Her fam while at a different price point and cuisine. I live close so I love picking up an order to go, but have dined in as well and it's great. Staff has never been anything less than wonderful!!

Robbin R.

Yelp
Uh. Not bad, but not great. Perfect for our neighborhood that is for sure. The food does taste good, fresh ingredients obviously. Of course, just like the sister restaurants Met Her/Him at a Bar, the service is great. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are a bit high I think for the portions, but hey, inflation is a mutha and this neighborhood ain't a cheap one. It is a fun atmosphere and you can see what's going on in the kitchen which is always fun fun fun. I'll probably be back some this is a few blocks from my place and fasho I'll update as I try other dishes. THE FOOD: Taste good, however doesn't satisfy MY Thai cravings. Egg rolls: very good veggie mix going on inside. The sauce wasn't too sweet, quite nice. But the two egg rolls for $7...hard side eye. Kee Mao Noodles w/tofu: this "spicy" was dish was definitely more of a medium heat. I enjoyed the wide noodles and medium soft tofu. I would have enjoyed more bell peppers or some other added greenery. Thai Iced Tea: respect. Was g

Nicole T.

Yelp
I'm not even a big fan of Thai food, but Her Thai is absolutely amazing! If anyone gives this place anything less than 5 stars they are a straight hater. Karens are keeping this place from a 5 star rating. #HerThaiOrDie

Ana Maria M.

Yelp
After an exhausting day of moving during a heatwave, my man and I decided to skip cooking and order some Thai food. We called in our order and confirmed they accepted cash before heading over to pick it up. My boyfriend ran in and returned empty handed. Not only did they not have change for a hundred, they sent us to go find some. What didn't it occur to the man at Her Thai to ask his neighbors? Why open for business with no change, if you accept cash?? In the end, the Pad Thai and steak entree (something Tiger) were very tasty. But the customer service aspect needs an overhaul. Deducting one star for that and hoping they can put in the effort to bring it up to the quality of the kitchen. That's where they shine.

Kwame M.

Yelp
Deco is bright and inviting. Yellow curry hot and sumptuous. Veronica was a gem who pretty much embodied what service should look like, and seems to be lost in our time.

Logann H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch before catching a flight back to NorCal. Food was delicious, fresh, and service was wonderful. Staff were friendly. Also loved the homemade hot sauces they provided. Wish I lived closer to come back sooner.

Yagmur E.

Yelp
I am familiar with Met Her At A Bar, and once I've heard they have a new comer - Her Thai, I was excited to try this place out! I love Thai food, unfortunately this spot wasn't giving all they offer in other two locations. It is a smaller place, and mostly good for to-go, but the problem wasn't the store or ambiance. Our food was super spicy! Like it was just so much we couldn't eat the curry. Pad see ew was alright, and the fresh rolls were ok. But considering we have other Thai spots, they need to update their game!

Joel S.

Yelp
I enjoy the drunken noodles. Really good for the price range, and folks at the register are friendly and flexible (I was afraid I'd gotten double charged and they gave me their number to make it right on the off chance the double charge went through, which it didn't).

Annie W.

Yelp
Great food, even better service. I love their Kra Pow with steak instead of ground chicken, roti and peanut sauce. That combo is top tier. The steak is cooked perfectly and tender, seasoned well and just enough spice. The roti's buttery flaky and light. The peanut sauce brightens everything and helps balance out the spice from the Kra pow. There Tom Kha Kai is one of my favorites. Light and tangy coconut milk soup, with tender white meat and mushrooms. It's filling and not heavy. Their staff is super friendly and attentive. Parking is typical LA parking. There neighborhood parking directly behind La Brea some of which is permit so be mindful of that.

Hazel S.

Yelp
Honestly, I waited a while to actually think about writing this review. I've been amazed by Met Her & Met Him franchise. I was super excited to try Her Thai. It didn't meet the expectations as their other places. I gave it a chance a few times. But, I'd say the food isn't that bad, it's the customer service that throws me off and not wanting to go back. I know they've kept a good image so far, but something about Her Thai feels off. When I first went, I was greeted by a younger girl few months ago maybe in early January or December If I'm not wrong. She was great at communicating to me about the menu. That's what made me excited to try Her Thai. I'm not sure what her name was, but she looked fairly young around her teens and spoke Spanish very well. She was superb and my group definitely appreciated her patience and kindness. The third time I went back I was expecting the same treatment and attention from the older woman upfront. I remembered her name very well, Veronica. She didn't greet us, she didn't even try to make convo with us. All she said was "do you have questions about the menu?" She wasn't recommending us anything. I was pretty disappointed at her customer service. She looked money hungry for tips when she turned her screen to us for tip. I like giving tips but honestly, I wouldn't tip a person who wasn't even enjoying their job and look money hungry. I saw the way she made the Thai tea. I used to work at Boba Time, I know how boba is prepared. I knew the boba was a bit older, so that's a bummer and a safety issue. The Thai tea not the milk felt like it wasn't done correctly. I guess the first time I went, the girl put my expectations high. She made the boba fresh and gave us a fresh batch of boba and Thai tea so for that I appreciate it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Her Thai specifically only because of the customer service and the drinks. But the food, it was fairly decent.

Sean B.

Yelp
It was okay. Compared to some of the best Thai places in Thai Town, it doesn't exactly shine. They seemed to play it safe, middle-of-the-road, appealing to folks who aren't exactly Thai food purists. Kind of had a fast food feel to it, served in paper bowls, with very limited seating. Went for a Thai street food feel I think, but I've had Thai street food and it was amazing. This was... fine. One of the employees (owner, maybe?) was chatting with someone in the doorway at, I swear, the loudest indoor voices I've heard outside of a Jerry Springer episode. Heard every word they were talking about for ten minutes, and couldn't hear a word from my dining companion, who was two feet away from me. I doubt if people in passing cars, with windows down, could hear their commute music over it, to be honest. It was almost comically hyperbolic if it weren't so annoying. They clearly had no situational awareness that anyone else was there. Other diners looked annoyed also, exchanged knowing glances with us. We shrugged and eye-rolled. As the food didn't really shine, the parking was terrible, and we were drowned out by a private conversation with a decibel level somewhere between a 767 accelerating down a long runway and an ambulance siren at full tilt. Probably a once-and-done visit here. There are just better, easier, tastier (and quieter) options all over LA.

Joon P.

Yelp
Amazing. Simply amazing. Probably the best Thai food in town, better than the ones in Thai town. Noodles are the perfect consistency and not drenched in sauce like other restaurants - seasoned perfectly. My wife is always looking for good papaya salad and this has her thoroughly impressed. Eggplant is just delicious. Highly recommend. Food travels well. We have eaten in, taken togo, and also catered trays - all options great and the catered food was loved by our guests even after 45 min of waiting for guests to arrive.

Izzy D.

Yelp
You order at the cashier and then you sit down and wait for your order. We came around 5pm so it wasn't busy at all. We sat outside which was covered. I ordered kao soi (which is what I order pretty much at every Thai restaurant) and it was good. I've never had it with chicken before but it was still good! I also got a Thai tea which was fine. My niece got their lychee mint drink which I thought was delicious and I wished I got that instead. My family ordered pad thai and drunken noodles which they said was ok. We also got mango sticky rice which was very tasty. I'd go back just for that. The owner was there and greeted us. Everybody was super nice.

C.J. S.

Yelp
Hands down the best casual Thai food in the city. The quality of ingredients is incredibly noticeable and the flavor is absolutely phenomenal! The price is amazing for all the food you get. I live nearby and always dine in bc the staff is so nice and the vibes are just good. (Get the smiling tiger)

Terrence M.

Yelp
From what I could taste, the food was amazing. The yellow curry, the drunken noodles, the eggplant - all were seasoned and flavorful how I like. I would like an option to lower the temperature rating on all the items.. my mouth was on fire They a funny little "break glass in case of emergency" with hot sauce inside -- it should be water in that case The fried rice was the only thing I could really taste without spice.. so be prepared to take water. Loved the spot, love the orange. The only other suggestion would be to increase the portions. It was kinda pricey considering the sizes of these but still good. Would def go if those two things were changed. #TerrenceMurphyComedy

Jenise C.

Yelp
Yum to the e! We go here a lot. The Thai hotdog has the right amount of heat! Can't go wrong with this little gem. Service is lovely. It's a small little spot with delicious Thai food. Parking isn't great, but there is a valet if you want to spend the cash.

Brian W.

Yelp
Ashton is the perfect compliment for this wonderful Thai restaurant. Stopped in one day last week and was craving Tom Yum Koong to warm my spirits. Wow, is the only word to describe the this amazing soup. The Ashton recommended chicken larb was sensational! I have found a perfect Thai food spot. No gate keeping! Please stop in and enjoy!

Rana S.

Yelp
I'm local and I ate here for the first time over the weekend. I have to say I've eaten a lot of Thai foos (in Thailand and elsewhere) and this was truly delicious. I'm sorry it took me so long to eat here (mostly due to the fact that there is a lot of generic Thai food in LA). The woman who was working was so nice and the experience was certainly one I want to repeat soon.

Dave L.

Yelp
Food tastes authentic and very delicious. I live close by so it's nice to have a Thai restaurant within walking distance. Quality ingredients and very tasteful dishes. Definitely recommended.

Maegan La Mamita M.

Yelp
We are already huge fans of Met Him, Met Her so it's about time we came here for Her Thai. Small place with only a handful of tables so mostly a take out place for sure but everything is delish. We had the Green Curry and Pad Se Ew and the Veggie rolls and honestly this is some good food and will now be in our regular rotation.

Marilyn B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite local Thai restaurants. I always order the pad Thai dish with tofu. The price is right and the food is delicious. The staff is always nice and the wait is never long. I typically order food for takeout. But the cute decorations and inviting ambiance is great for dining there.

Oscar S.

Yelp
I ordered the Pad Thai for a quick lunch sit-down lunch. I'll definitely order it again soon.

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Gave it a try and went with the pad Thai that was recommended ! It was absolutely delicious & the garlic spicy sauce is amazing !

terri f.

Yelp
This was delicious food. Everything was flavorful, with huge portions. There was a friendly cashier. Will totally eat Pad see ew and the french fries again!!!

Janet A.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time. I ordered Kra Pow. I requested the rice to be packed separately. Great flavor with just a good amount of heat from the chili. Love the taste of basil! Decent price since it includes rice. Otus Thai on La Brea charges $2.50 for all of their entree dishes which I will for sure go to Her Thai instead. Better value for sure. I can't wait to try the noodle dishes.

R W.

Yelp
This is my GO-2 Thai spot. The food is really good. But tonight my food was beyond overcooked and burnt. The fried chicken wings were burnt and so crispy, I could even bite into it. The shrimp fried was was brown and burnt as well. A little disappointed tonight. I live kinda far to return the food.

Michael O.

Yelp
Outstanding customer service. Quickly prepared quality food. The guy working behind the counter was extremely helpful and on top of it. This place is a well oiled machine!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp since it was close to the La Brea Tar Pits. They have the most amazing food. Friendly service. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the food but I highly recommend their Green Chicken Curry and Pad Thai
