I honestly hate to write this review. I've been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for a long time and unfortunately it was disappointing.
Service 1/5- there was nearly no fluidity or teamwork among the server, associate servers, and staff pouring the water. We were originally greeted by our server, and then never saw him again until he brought us our bill. The associate server did a terrible job, describing the menu, the offerings, and the description of the food. I'm unsure whether they need to go through a team building exercise, or just have better communication, but for being a fine dining restaurant it was very disappointing.
Food- 3/5 - my friend, which I was dining with ordered his steak " Pittsburgh style" , which is charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. While the steak did have a light char on the outside it was nearly medium well if not well done when he cut into it. For priding yourself on steaks and employing well trained chefs this seems unacceptable. I ordered the short rib which had an Asian flare with kimchi, and was very enjoyable. It was soft, tender, and moist allowing the meat to just fall apart upon application of a fork. I would highly recommend staying away from the steaks. The key lime pie was absolutely terrible. There is zero sweetness and very tart. I also had some flavor profile issues with the mixed berry sorbet when combined with the pie. In the end, the real highlight was the bread. Served in a skillet, warm, buttery, and salty.
Ambience- it was very nice removed from the casino floor and be surrounded by tropical plants in the Mirage. I love the wood tones and layout, but I was unable to appreciate it, as the food and service was just not up to par for a flagship steakhouse.
At this price point, there are many other steak houses that I would recommend before returning to this location.
