Heritage Farm: Fresh, Flavorful, and Unforgettable Heritage Farm is one of those rare places where every bite tells a story. The moment the food arrived, I could tell this wasn’t your average meal. Everything was vibrant, fresh, and full of life. The flavors were deep, layered, and perfectly balanced. You could taste the quality in every bite, the kind that only comes from ingredients grown and prepared with care. The seasoning was masterful, not overpowering but just enough to let the natural flavors shine. The vegetables tasted like they were picked that morning, and the meat was so tender it nearly melted on the fork. Each dish felt intentional, made by people who love what they do and respect where their food comes from. This is the true meaning of farm to table. It’s not about a trend; it’s about connection to the land, to the farmers, and to the joy of eating real food. If you visit Heritage Farm, you’ll know exactly what I mean. The food doesn’t just taste amazing it makes you slow down, savor, and appreciate the art of a good meal. Mention this review when you go, and see why everyone is talking about it.

Have been here before but ended up here by happenstance. Thank goodness. It was a delectable shelter from the storm. It was approaching closing time but the service was superb. Matt the bartender was attentive and welcoming. The food was over the top good. They care and it shows. All around stellar. Mm

Google
eritage Tavern – 4.5/5 I came in with high expectations, and for the most part Heritage delivered. Service was impeccable from start to finish. I started with the deviled eggs three ways—two were creative and memorable, one was forgettable, but overall a fun opener. The peppercorn steak was the star. Perfectly cooked, with layers of flavors and textures that made every bite interesting. Paired it with a Merlot, after starting with a Hefeweizen, and both matched well with the flow of the meal. The ambience inside is truly great—small, warm, and full of unique antique touches that give the restaurant real character. It feels special without being overdone. This is a 4.5/5 experience, but since I came in expecting excellence, I’ll call it a 4/5 here. Either way, it’s an easy recommendation if you want refined food, great service, and an atmosphere that adds to the whole experience.

My faith in Madison brunches has been restored. :) After a few off experiences, I was ready to have a different outcome. My Cocktail- solid. I had the market vegetable omelet, along with the Starzy toast with some compote jam. As a person who doesn’t eat meat, I loved that the vegetarian options contain vegetables not usually found in omelets. They’re also not used as an afterthought like other places. (My salad had both their house dressing, carrots, and watermelon radishes). The omelet was piping hot, hash browns perfectly seared. All in all, a place absolutely worth the price and an easy endorsement for Madison’s food scene.

Google
We made a reservation for bunch to celebrate some big news with friends. The service was amazing. Our server provided complimentary champagne for our toast! Brunch menu was reasonably priced, portions were large and everything was delicious. This is the perfect restaurant when celebrating something special.

Google
I went here for the first time for a birthday dinner and was honestly stunned at how great the food was. The menu leaves your tastebuds watering with their perfect descriptions of their options. Our table ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer and it was a hit! I have never had such fancy deviled eggs before. Visually impeccable 👌 The entrees were also amazing. The special that evening was Red Snapper (meant for two) and was also a hit! Service was fast and friendly. Such a unique cozy atmosphere. Hands down would recommend if you are looking for a special night out!

Google
This was my first time here, and the atmosphere was nice. Great staff! I loved the drink that I had, but the food was not for me. I don't eat pork, and they had a lot of dishes with pork in them—a little on the pricy side.

Google
Fabulous dining experience. My wife and I came for dinner and shared a charcuterie board, the grilled octopus and the curried pumpkin and squash soup. We enjoyed everything, especially the soup. We also had cocktails which were absolutely unique (try the Otzi the Iceman). Lovely and cozy setting on what was a cold evening

Yelp
Excellent brunch. Had the ham and Gruyère omelet. Shared a cinnamon roll! Amazing! Highly recommend! Attentive wait staff. Sat at the bar. Lovely.

Yelp
Beautiful space with amish made furniture, very warm service, and great food! We went for the $48 3 course early bird special which also has 50 percent off wines! Such a great deal and they were kind enough to let me have a cheese instead of dessert. The wild mushroom pappardelle was absolutely incredible--you have to try it!

Yelp
I'm giving 5 stars for service specifically. Our waiter, Charlie, was so immediately engaging and authentic. He asked questions to understand what brought us into the restaurant (were we celebrating something, did we need to be anywhere in a certain time), which set a base for us to have a relaxing time. Charlie was so attentive to our meal service and also took a little time to chat in such a personable way. We welcomed his energy and really appreciate the brunch experience because of what he brought to it. The food was beautifully presented and fresh. The restaurant and restrooms are clean and have grounding, rustic decor. I would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Came for a 4th of July dinner. Service was excellent and like the chilled relaxed atmosphere. We like 2 of the 3 assorted eggs. The tamari one was a little on the saltier side. Loved the grilled octopus. The chicken wings had a nice flavor a little on the spicier side and just a little on the drier side. The skirt steak was good. My only negative comment was that the hostess was not very friendly and did not crack anything resembling a smile the whole time we were there.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing meal from beginning to end. I'll be back in December and will definitely want to try out more menu items. Thank you to Lily for the recommendations!

Yelp
We visited Heritage for dinner and absolutely loved the ambience! It was happy hour and it was quite lively but not in a way that was overbearing. We were served quickly and after we ordered everything came out perfectly spaced so we could enjoy each part of dinner. We learned on our way out that our server never showed us the happy hour menu even though she should have, so that was disappointing. For drinks we got the 131 bourbon street and the rhubarb gimmie. They were both good although the non-alcoholic drink cost the same amount as the one with alcohol so that was a little surprising, not in a good way. For appetizers we had the assorted deviled eggs and baby octopus. The eggs were delicious and appropriately priced, and I would order them again. The octopus was okay and definitely not worth the price for the small amount you get. For our mains we had the smoked butternut squash tortellini and pork schnitzel. The schnitzel was okay, while the tortellini was out of this world with flavors and textures. If they added two more pieces of pasta it would have been perfect. As-is, there are too many extras on the plate and it takes away from the pasta. For dessert we had the lemon sorbet and the cheddar ice cream. I was pretty obsessed with both of them, especially the cheddar ice cream as I've never seen that before and it was soooo good! Overall would go back again but would order differently and also obtain the happy hour menu.

Yelp
I can only add to the many positive reviews of other diners. Great appetizers, nice ambiance and very good service. Really interesting appetizers and the pork schnitzel marvelous. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Excellent food and service. An interesting menu taking solid classics and unleveling them with unique approach and flavors. Bar and craft Cocktails are very good. Don't dine in Madison often but wouldn't hesitate to come here when I do. Really a good atmosphere and food.

Yelp
I came here since it had been a commonly recommended restaurant in Madison. We came here for happy hour on a Friday at around 5 pm and there were only a couple of seats left at the bar but there were still bar tables across that were still available. We got seated, had our coat checked, and were given the happy hour menu, the Julia Child's inspired prix fixed menu for $75/person that they had for the week, and the dinner menu. After looking at the different menus, we decided to go to with the happy hour menu for our first time, and because the ambiance in the area we were seated in seemed much more appropriate for the happy hour menu. We ended up ordering some cocktails--the fukushu gimlet, Austin and leftie, and the malacopa. I thought all of the cocktails were really tasty and very different. I would come back just for the cocktails. We also ordered each of the deviled eggs, which were spicy tuna, crispy pork, and turmeric flavored, as well as the house cut parmesan fries, a tempura bacon-wrapped cheese curd, the old fashioned ham sandwich, smash burger, tavern sausage, and market green salad to share. I really liked their deviled eggs--the spicy tuna was my favorite, the parmesan fries were also really tasty and came with house made aioli and ketchup, and the market green salad and tavern sausage were also pretty solid. I might come back to try their dinner items. The menu was pretty interesting since it seemed like they served all different kinds of cuisines. Tl;dr Come for happy hour (4-6 Monday through Friday) for drinks, deviled eggs and fries!

Yelp
Enjoyed a drink and lite bite before heading to a show at the Overture Center. I love the option of sitting at the bar and have lucked out a couple of times. It gives the opportunity to watch the bartenders make drinks. I've found everyone to be helpful and friendly. With so many of their own ingredients and sourcing locally outside of that you can really taste the quality in each dish. The bar board came with a couple of cheeses, meat, bread, crackers, nut butter, jam and sliced apples. I left feeling full and not heavy.

Yelp
Heritage Tavern has been on our list of restaurants to try in Madison for ages. We finally did just that last night and were not disappointed. The menu is concise yet thoughtfully curated with unique options to choose from. The food lives up to the hype and then some. However, their dessert menu was the real show stopper in my opinion. The Caramel Profiterole was decadent and mouth watering. You can never go wrong with a sweet treat. The inside is bustling in the best way. They have two dining areas, one closer to the bar giving it a more tavern-esque vide. The second is more intimate and moody, nestled in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress was a delight and we will definitely be returning in the near future.

Yelp
We tried brunch here before an event across the way at the Bartell Theatre. The food was absolutely delicious! Bacon and cinnamon rolls? Yes...you must try! Our drinks were all delicious and portions were really well-sized. Our server was great, and the service was generally quick throughout the meal. The restaurant was packed a little tight, but they are a smaller location. We will definitely return here! I would try dinner sometime.

Yelp
I was shocked that my son actually found an awesome place for us to eat brunch . We were traveling and he selected this place right around the corner from our hotel. Hands-down, it's one of the best. We actually have heard about this restaurant from others due to keeping current with the Chef world and the best ones out there in the state. We knew it would be awesome. It definitely lived up to its expectations and surpassed. I went 100% out of my comfort zone and had shrimp and grits for breakfast. And also had a poached egg in there. I literally would never order this, but I knew it would amazing place. As expected, it was top-notch. Everything else that we ordered was excellent as well. I wish we had room to eat at all. We were so full. Next time I return, we are coming back here. It's the best.

Yelp
Everything was great! Best French toast I've ever had. The service was quick and attentive. We loved seating in our booth! Would recommend

Yelp
Dined in during restaurant week. I got the charcuterie board, salmon, and profiterole. Everything was good. Salmon was on the saltier side, however, it was cooked perfectly and the sauce was balanced. The profiterole was hands down the best dish! The maple ice cream with the perfectly made pastry, Carmel, and pecans was excellent. Service was very good and quick. I would go back for their regular menu

Yelp
Lily was an amazing waiter along with the other staff. The food was delicious with absolute joy we ate our dinner. The texture, flavor & appearance were spot on! Chefs kiss! The restaurant is clean, cozy & has interesting decor. A real treat to dine here!

Yelp
Me and wife decided to try this place after seeing yelp reviews. The inside is nice. Wife really liked it. We started with the tempura cheese curds and deviled eggs. We both really like the cheese curds and deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were different. One was a spicy tuna and the other fried rice. We were a little skeptical but after trying them we were convinced. Two of the best deviled eggs we've had. The wife got a grilled cheese and I got the schnitzel with knockwurst. It was good but wasn't as impressed as I was with the starters. The wife felt the same with the grilled cheese. It was good, I mean it's a grilled cheese, but felt it was a little greasy. All in all it was good and we'd go back. Also staff were great.

Yelp
Yum! I stopped in to Heritage while tracking my nephew in the marathon course downtown. I had read they have one of the best Bloody Marys in town. It was very good, nice balance of flavors. We also ordered the ham cinnamon roll. Wow, that was good too. My only complaint was We were never given napkins and the cinnamon roll is quite sticky. I ended up using the drink napkin from the bar.

Yelp
Outstanding! Was on a layover (as a Captain) in Madison and found a wonderful Sunday brunch! Sat at the bar and staff was SUPER helpful and friendly. I ordered the mushroom / asparagus omelette with greens and it was over the top! Great location and food!

Yelp
Stopped in for a midday brunch on Saturday. The restaurant wasn't packed and we were sat right away. The decor was very cute and the bathrooms were clean and well decorated. The mimosas were made perfectly with only a little bit of oj. Drinks did take a while to come to our table. I ordered the vegetarian Benedict which was delicious. The potato pancake? Hashbrown? I'm not sure what to call it was okay- I feel like it could have had more seasoning and wasn't very crispy. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs. The scrambled eggs were SO good-Perfectly fluffy. The fries were also top tier. Very crispy and nearly shoestring. We weren't very impressed with the size of the steak, but there was lots of food. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Pleasant modern American restaurant with a cozy and intimate ambience, great service, and well seasoned food. We arrived after 8 PM and things were still poppin'. This place is doing well. Prices are a bit sharp, but it's not unreasonable in today's world. The artisan bread and maple butter were delicious. The bread had a lovely crumb and the crust was thin and crisp, perfect when slathered with sweet butter. The crispy pork belly and tuna plate is meant for two, with two cubes of fried pork belly each with an accompanying slice of tuna sashimi, and a sweet and tart fruit compote. The rich pork belly paired well with the acidity of the fruit, though I don't think the tuna added much to the dish. Pork belly in all of its forms is delicious, and this was a great mix of flavors though a bit pricey for such a small portion. The Berkshire pork schnitzel was generous and tender of a lovely classic cream sauce. The bouillabaisse was a bounty of clams, muscles, and shrimp topped with a savory cheese sauce with a side of toast to soak up the broth. Enjoyed both dishes, though the seafood broth was a bit too salty for my taste. We ended the night with the profiteroles (comes in 3) With Wisconsin ice cream sandwich between top with candied pecans and in a pool of caramel sauce. Classic, quite sweet, and delicious. Overall, this is a lovely new American restaurant with local ingredients and phenomenal staff. I like the cow painting on the wall. I'll be back for the cow and of course the food.

Yelp
Why does Yelp waste my time forcing me to write a review when I rate 5 stars and post 8 pics? Why does Yelp waste my time forcing me to write a review when I rate 5 stars and post 8 pics? Why does Yelp waste my time forcing me to write a review when I rate 5 stars and post 8 pics?

Yelp
Lucky us! We were wandering around the capital trying to decide what to eat when came across this gem. We were there during Summer Restaurant Week, so I believe we had a modified menu based off of other reviews. Although the menu was small, the flavor was big. Lily, our waitress, explained they are famous for their pork. We tried spare tubes, braised, sausage and a lion cut. They were all awesome. The sausage was our favorite. If we are back in town, I would love to explore the items others reviewed.

Yelp
I had brunch from here on a Sunday noon. Interior was spacious. I started off with a maple pecan croissant. That was really good . The whipped butter and artisanal jam which came with it was excellent as well. Maple lamb sausage and savory French toast was really good. The maple sausge had good flavor to it. Fried poached egg was done perfectly. Brioche french toast with maple ice cream was my other item. I loved that as well.

Yelp
We were looking for a brunch place during Independence Day weekend and liked that this restaurant takes reservations. We called the night before and easily secured our table. The restaurant looked nice and cozy and the service was great. The brunch food menu is not big but still interesting. We got the 2 0% sparkling, ham cinnamon roll, pork schnitzel and lobster scramble. Highly recommend the ham cinnamon roll - beautiful, fluffy, yummy and not too sweet. The cream cheese topping is airy and smooth and also not too sweet. There are two small thin slices of ham in the middle just for fun hehe. The "entrees". Big portions. Beautiful presentation again. Well balanced recipes. Fresh ingredients. The only thing was the pork schnitzel that was a bit overcooked and tasted a bit dry and burnt, but the rest on the plates were delicious. We will recommend this place for brunch if you are in Madison.

Yelp
My favorite meal is brunch. I recently tried @heritagetavern and it was fantastic! I opted for the hanger steak with fried poached eggs, bleu cheese sabayon, frites, and green salad - and every bite was a delight. My only gripe? I could have used more steak! The fried poached eggs were a delightful surprise, bursting with savory flavor and a runny yolk that I couldn't get enough of. Despite being lactose intolerant, I couldn't resist the flavorful bleu cheese sabayon. The fresh green salad and crispy fries were the perfect accompaniments. I'll definitely be back for more!

Yelp
Went here for a special celebration, and it was my first time! We learned that it's all a farm-to-table place, so we knew the food would be great! We went on a Tuesday night, and we did have a reservation though, but I definitely recommend getting one when you go! As for food, we had the deviled eggs to start. (Honestly the best part). I know what you're thinking... deviled eggs?? But trust me, they were GREAT! Apparently they're super known for them! We also got the side order of bread, and it was PLENTY for the two of us. It was super thick and had that great baguette-like crunch. We decided to get the charcuterie board as well, picking three options, we got one sausage and two cheeses. They also gave us some sauces & things to dip them in! For dinner, we both got the pork schnitzel (they gave us two on top of each other and I loved it) with a sausage, beets, a great sauce, and Spatzle is so good because it tastes like pasta, but it's more eggy and it random shapes. We also both got a side of the market vegetables (asparagus, carrots, buk choy, and shiitake mushrooms) which were also amazing. All in all, honestly we were both full after the appetizers already before the main course LOL Out of the quote on quote "fancy" restaurants in the Madison area, the portions were great! The staff were so knowledgeable about the food and drinks there, very kind too! TLDR: Definitely get a reservation! Get the deviled eggs! Great food! Great ambience! Staff knew their stuff! Get the spatzel! Happy tummies!

Yelp
Great place by the Capitol for an upscale dinner. I would definitely come back again. Highly recommend the pork and scallops.

Yelp
Heritage Tavern completely fulfills the upscale-yet-casual, trendy-yet-unpretentious vibe I look for when craving a special night out. The main focus of any restaurant should be the food, and I really appreciated the effort that was put into making each dish unique and the attention to detail not only in the farm-to-table ingredients used, but the appealing plating as well. We got a couple cocktails, the assorted deviled eggs, seared scallop and sweet soy braised short rib, sour cream spaetzle, and bread and maple butter to start. We had these four small dishes come before the main because we got the family style Char Siu Heritage Pork Shoulder & Tuna, which the server told us would take 45 minutes to prepare. Fortunately the four small plates (which came out quickly and one at a time) and drinks made the time fly by, and gave us time to digest a little before the main course. I only drink when I go to a restaurant with fancy cocktails, so I always hope it's worth it because I do it so rarely. The drinks did not disappoint. I love mezcal and I will definitely get the Ancho & Leftie again next time I come in. I also got a cocktail with gin and carrot (forget the name) which was unique and refreshing. I liked it. I don't like the taste of gin so I know it's a good cocktail for me when I can taste everything but the gin. The assorted deviled eggs were very fun and interesting. I would typically never order deviled eggs at a restaurant but I saw how popular they are here so gave them a shot. There were three different kinds for the half dozen order (a beet one, one with tuna which was quite spicy, and one with soy and crispy fried rice). I liked them all, and the plating was pretty and precise. None of them tasted like traditional deviled eggs, but then again, I wouldn't order traditional deviled eggs at a restaurant. The seared scallop and short rib small plate was good, but I wouldn't order it again. It was a small amount of food for how pricey it was ($24) and I only ordered it because the ingredients looked interesting. Nothing to rave about with this dish in particular. The sour cream spaetzle was very good and I would order it again. It's a simple, mild dish and I think paired well with the more complex flavors of everything else. It tasted kind of like pancakes? I liked the texture, like soft noodles. I'm a fan. The bread and maple butter is the best bread and butter I've had at a restaurant. There were three different slices (a sesame bread, whole wheat, and seedy bread) that were all clearly fresh baked. I used to be a bread baker at a very good bakery in LA; I almost hate to say Heritage Tavern's is better. The butter was whipped to the perfect spreadable consistency and had a slight maple flavor that didn't overpower the bread. I liked that the slices were toasted. The winning dish was the family style pork shoulder and tuna. Hands down *best pork I've ever had.* The tuna was very spicy but when paired with everything else in the lettuce wrap it was the perfect level of spice. I loved getting to make my own lettuce wrap and use whatever ingredients I wanted (I used all of them). It was plenty of food for the three of us and we even took a good amount of leftover pork home. The bill came out to $300 for the three of us, $375 including tip, which was well deserved. We got plenty of unique food and yummy drinks, and the service was great. They were very busy on a Friday night at 7:00 yet our server was attentive throughout the duration of our meal. I would never spend that much on a meal unless it's something I could never make at home, and I could never make any of this at home. I would never even think of some of these ingredient combos that were so well paired together. I was thoroughly impressed with Heritage Tavern and it will be the first place I think to go when friends visit from out of town to show them what Madison really has to offer.

Yelp
Great server, nice atmosphere. The food was fine but at these prices I want more. I love that "OMG" moment I have so often at finer restaurants where some to all of the dishes amaze me; the quality, complex flavors, unique texture profile, etc. Nothing we ordered gave me that "wow" factor.

Yelp
Old world charm meets upscale/casual/creative cuisine. Deviled eggs?? Yes, indeed. These aren't the deviled eggs from your 4th of July picnic-- they're one of the most interesting menu items I've seen in ages. Our server was Florence-- knowledgeable and friendly. I love the warm wood tavern vibe with ambient lighting. Well done, Heritage.

Yelp
All around wonderful! Attentive service, delicious food and beautifully prepared. I was very happy that my colleague found this spot. We came here with a large group and already had our mains selected prior to coming. But the appetizers was selected when we were there. We ordered a ton of different options to share. Apps: - beets salad: amazing! Highly recommend especially with the micro greens they had as salad, I love micro greens!! - devil eggs, this was beautiful and so delicious ! I was surprised with the amount of variety from this dish, it included: truffle, spicy Tobiko, pork, smoked fish - absolutely delicious! Highly recommend - beef ragu, interesting but not sure if I'd recommend this for a starter - crispy pork belly and tuna: I did not try this one but thought it was such an interesting combo! For my main, I opted for a strip loin with braised short rib - wow this was cooked absolutely to perfection! Medium rare steak pieces and pieces of braised short rib under. The layered potato was so delightful and the red wine glaze to top off, really rounded this dish! And of course dessert was also amazing, we got the chocolate tart! Overall if you are in Madison Wisconsin this is a must visit restaurant. The preparation, attention to flavors and plating are top!

Yelp
Amazing date night location just off the capitol square. You can tell things are made fresh here, you can even see them growing their own herbs near the kitchen. We ate at the bar and the bartenders are very experienced in mixology. They know their drinks and can tweak a dink on the menu if you'd like it sweeter or lighter, etc. Highlights of the meal are the pork belly/Tuna combo and the foraged mushroom pasta. Quite possibly the most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth. Creme puff ice cream dessert is definitely big enough to be shared!

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and service is what you get at Heritage Tavern! Perfect place for celebrations, date night or brunch. Tried out heritage tavern for the first time and really liked it. It's a great place to enjoy a classy and delicious meal with perfect hospitality and service. Loved their menu choices. We had the steak frites and salmon and both were perfectly cooked. The flavors in both the dishes were incredible. They have a great drinks menu as well. There is something in there for everyone. Do check out heritage tavern and enjoy fine and classy dining in Madison. Make reservations, highly recommend this place.

Yelp
pretty solid restaurant in madison that i've heard good things about it! interior gave upscale bar vibes with dark walls and music that i actually enjoyed having in the background. overall was satisfied with our dishes but there were still some misses. the charcuterie board is a great option for people to share, the figs were a unique option that i liked but wasn't entirely for me. looooved the pork belly - this was so tender while being crispy at the same time! the red snapper was the clear winner of the entrees - it was actually crispy on top compared to the whitefish, which was almost kinda soggy and underwhelming. the foam on the whitefish was interesting but nothing to be impressed by. the flavors were lacking - especially when it renders from the tom kha soup. the dessert was the absolute best tho!!!! kind of like a cream puff but with wisconsin maple ice cream, with a caramel glaze underneath and a pecan coating on top. our server did a good job but felt young and new to the position, which wasn't a big deal. drinks were also very strong

Yelp
Okay I'll admit I haven't had food from here. We stopped in tonight before a reservation at Naples 15, and I really wanted to ditch the reservation. I got the dill speciality cocktail, it tasted pretty good but just a different cocktail experience than my plain vodka sodas. However, the atmosphere is amazing! Staff all seemed so friendly, I could see fresh herbs and micro greens in front of the open-concept kitchen. I'm looking forward to returning to eat there! After growing up in the Madison area I can't believe I haven't been here before! You've got my attention Heritage Tavern!!

Really good food in the Madison area. Definitely on the higher end, but well worth it for a nice dinner. The tuna & pork belly dish was great, and the main course steak dish was phenomenal!

Yelp
This is the second time I am reviewing this place. It's not a good place for dinner, the place is noisy, the food is very mediocre and tasteless. The service has improved since the last time we went, but not it gets so crowded that it's hard to talk sometime. Also, the place smells like a pig farm, very very bad if you are a vegetarian. I do not know why it has such as a high rating, Madison offers plenty of very very good restaurants.

Yelp
Hands down the BEST Deviled Eggs I've ever had. They have a romantic, rustic atmosphere with delicious farm to table food. I also recommend you take a look at the seasonal cocktails. The staff are kind, professional and knowledgeable. It's a great place for a fancy, romantic dinner with hearty food options.

Yelp
Pro: Yummy food, reservation online, parking structures nearby. Con: Downtown capital tourist trap price. First thing first, worth the price. Let's go directly to the dinner. 2 people Char Siu Pork shoulder - massive, def worth the 92 usd. great presentation with great veggie options. Sour Cream Spaetzle - never had this before, creamy mess but delicious Hazelnut Mai Tai - strong, gets the job done. A must for the 1 pm martini for the local politicians dreaming of better weather. Halibut - nothing special - skip it Curry Squash soup - so good that our table ordered another one asap Full board charcuterie - Local cheeses are a plus Dozen devil egg - all weird, fried rice one was good, rest are a mess Crispy pork belly and tuna - amazing combo, this and the pork shoulder, they love their pork with tuna here. Order this. Will be going back next time around Madison.

Yelp
A fabulous restaurant for Madison. Nicely hidden across from the Marriott, almost inconspicuous. Dimly lit just enough to make for a comfortable atmosphere. Lots of talk & chatter, adding to its energy but not loud enough that you can't have a normal conversation at your table. The staff was very friendly. Service was steady; no long waits before courses. The assortment of deviled eggs is nothing short of amazing. My favorite was the wasabi. The pork belly & tuna had great flavor, although maybe deep fried a bit longer than needed. I would get the tenderloin any day if the week and twice on Thursday. That dish is amazing! The dessert (caramel profiteroles were a perfect way to finish out the visit. This could easily be my new favorite place to eat in Madison Yum!!

Yelp
*only been for brunch. Not dinner. My favorite non diner brunch in madison. Worth the extra dollar or 2 for bacon bloody marry. Decent prices. Insanely good eats and well dressed greens. Fried poached eggs were a total delight.

Yelp
Do not miss brunch here! I had the Lobster Scramble and not one thing to complain about. Eggs are scrambled perfectly, good amount of lobster chunks. Comes with rosti and a giant croissant. Service was spot on. Attentive without being intrusive. The actual restaurant is beautiful inside too. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Make a reservation though! Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Easily five stars. Great food, fantastic beverages, friendly staff in terrific location! My wife and I went for brunch this morning. She had the lobster scramble and I had the classic Benedict. Both were exceptional! We both also had the bacon bloody Mary - so good! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the interior is beautiful, the service was terrific! So glad we went. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely evening at Heritage Tavern for Restaurant Week! We ordered drinks and 3 courses from the pre fixe menu. My husband and I each got something different so we could try a bit of. everything. For starters: duck confit toast and summer corn chowder. I recommend the duck confit - it was delicious and savory! The soup was amazing, but I was very disappointed in the portion size, the soup barely covered the bottom of the bowl, only 5 spoonfuls of soup. Entrees: Coup du jour and the salmon. Both excellent, you can't go wrong with either! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the white wine sauce was superb. Desserts: Chocolate cake and the coconut mango sorbet. The chocolate cake was fluffy and decadent, love the nutty topping. The coconut sorbet was perfect for summer - the hint of mango, mint, and chili was a lovely touch that really brought the dessert to life. Overall, service was wonderful, very attentive and helpful staff. Excellent meal, left me wanting more soup ;)

Yelp
Wow. Heritage Tavern went from a brunch front runner during our Madison trips to a dinner 'must' in one weekend! We found heritage a few years ago for brunch and LOVED our experience. As a result, we tried to replicate that brunch while in town. We discovered that the brunch currently wasn't happening due to restaurant week, but we were able to get reservations via Yelp for dinner and stopped by Saturday night. We were blown away! We each got two drinks. I got the Pear Gin Rug, which is absolutely divine and you MUST try it, and the Soho, which was also yummy. My husband got the peanut butter Porter and the 755 Local IPA. He loved the great mix of regional beer options. We started with the Brussel sprouts and they were so good! The sweet and savory sauce/broth was the highlight of the starter...I could have eaten this starter all night! For our meals, I got the steak frites and my husband got the pork schnitzel. We were so happy with our entrees and walked away stuffed. The steak was perfectly tender and juicy and the gravy sauce was so decadent with the steak and crispy frites! Connor loved the tender pork schnitzel and thought the crispy breading was perfect! One of the best schnitzels he has ever had! As we were about to leave, we noticed the amazing 'Restaurant Week' menu and asked when it started...the next day, 1/23! We got a reservation on the spot and came back again tonight. This incredible deal is $35 per person and comes with three courses each. Wow!!! We each got two drinks throughout the evening. I got the restaurant week special cocktail, First Kiss, with gin and cranberry rosemary syrup. Sweet, fizzy, and yummy. I also got the 131 Bourbon Street and loved this smokey take on the Manhattan! My husband got the 755 Local IPA and an IPA from Nashville, TN. He loves his IPA's! For our starter, we got the charcuterie board and pork/beef meatballs. The charcuterie board was a perfect mix of cheese, spreads, breads, and veggies. Yum and beautifully presented. The meatballs were so savory and sweet with a perfect bread-crumb crunch. For our entrees, we both got the 'Pork Duo.' This included Heritage's infamous schnitzel and a house sausage atop German potato salad and red cabbage. It was so delicious and flavorful. And very filling! For dessert, we each got our own flourless chocolate cake. Oh my goodness it was decadent, luxurious, and divine. The presentation was perfect and the flavors were wonderful. I particularly loved the hazelnut crumble. Yum! And all of that food for only $35 a person. Wow! What a deal! If you are reading this during restaurant week, snag yourself a reservation via YELP asap to take advantage of this wonderful deal! Finally, I want to note that the staff (from hostess to server) were wonderful, warm, and helpful. We enjoyed each person we encountered and it helped us feel comfortable coming back a second day . Thanks for a great experience everyone! Also, the ambiance and decor are very date-mood friendly and cozy. We felt very comfy and fancy! Plus COVID protocols are on-point...we felt very safe. Thank you for the wonderful dinning adventure this weekend, Heritage Tavern! We look forward to seeing you next time!
