Chef Aaron is awsome. He brings his creativity to traditional dishes. This was a great dining experience.

Solid place for food and a craft brew. Beer menu is limited but delicious. Food is good with some chef daily specials. Had the halibut BLT special. Cook on fish could've been a bit better but in all, I'd return. And I have.

Had an awesome lunch here. The food is so good. I definitely recommend trying the specials board. The beers are great, there’s something for everyone! And Rachel was such an amazing server. Every song on her playlist was a banger and she helped us after we spilled not 1 but 2 beers. Such a great afternoon, couldn’t recommend more.

Came in on a Monday afternoon and shout out to Jeff for making the whole experience very enjoyable and welcoming, got to sample some beers and He was very kind and helpful So I went with a westcoat IPA since they didn’t do flights so besides that it was very refreshing and delicious, the place is pretty small so if it’s packed don’t expect to be attended right away but they try their best overall so the bad reviews on here were because of that reason mainly The food was so damn good! Very impressed with the quality and portion overall , so I got the carnita fries since I didn’t want nothing heavy or massive but man they were a hit!! I was gonna try the Nashville hot chicken da but I’ll save that for next time, overall this brewery had a lot of quality food and drinks to offer and the service was very professional and top notch! Highly recommended this spot if your looking for a few brews and a quick bite, just don’t go when it’s crowded lol

Wow. This place definitely deserves the ratings it is getting. Was not disappointed in one thing. The ambiance is great. Just a block of beach in a really cool area. The food was excellent. Definitely not bar food. They have a very talented chef. Had the Brussels sprouts and they were awesome. All the food we had was a hit. Now on to the beer. It was top notch. I had a sample of all the hazys and they were very good. I even tried the Ollie which is a kolsch (I never like Kolsches) but this was fantastic. I had just visited the legendary Russian River brewery and the beers here were better as a whole. Well done. Keep up the good work.

I had the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and it was so delicious and gourmet. The Hazy AF beer was a great pairing. 5 stars to Rachel for being an amazing server.

Finally we have found the perfect spot in the neighborhood that meets all our requirements. Perfect for a sun -soaked beer session under the sun on the their terrace. The food is really good, they have a fixed menu and daily specials, we opted for the specials and we weren’t disappointed. The service is excellent as well :) Definitely It has become one of our favorites places in the area!

Trivia is available on Wednesdays at 7pm. There’s 7 rounds and it’s a fun group activity. The reservation can be made online but note that the group size is limited to 6. We had a group of 8 so we were split into 2 groups of 4. Indoor seating is only for trivia but they have outdoor seating as well for regular patrons. Two item minimum is required for trivia in order to offset their costs. You order at the bar and they bring your food to your table. I got the fried chicken sandwich, which was huge and tasty. I added fries for an additional $3. I also got a chocolate cake (which came with housemade whipped cream) and had a raspberry filling. They have shareable including loaded tots and sweet potato fries that may be good for the table.

Great experience with both indoor and outdoor seating available! The bartender was very kind and offered me tastings since I did not know what to get. He offered something similar to what I normally order which turned out wonderful. I tried the South Bay Lager and it was crisp and refreshing. The brewery has a relaxing vibe and is a fun place to hang out with friends. Bonus, one block from the strand.

Came in on a Tuesday evening for a party of 2 and got seated right away. It's a smaller place inside, not many tables. Looks like they take reservations too. Friendly staff, checked on us multiple times. Solid beer choices and food was tasty! Would definitely go back. Burger was a little greasy, Nashville chicken wasn't really (spicy) hot and had lots of breading. Carnitas fries were fantastic. Several other items looked good on the menu which I would try in the future. Nice spot ratepayer away from the beach!

But let's get down to business--Veronica is the real MVP here! She'll make you feel like a regular from the jump, and her service? Absolute top-notch. If you want a true Hermosa experience, she's your go-to! Now, let's talk food. Don't sleep on Phil in the back, who's working magic helping with the menu, especially the red curry coconut soup. Seriously, it's the best I've ever had. It's perfectly spiced, creamy, and the flavor combo just hits all the right notes. Total comfort food but with an unforgettable kick! And of course, the brews! This place has something for everyone. Whether you're into a crisp pale ale, a hoppy IPA, or even a refreshing cider, Hermosa Brewing has you covered. Their house brews are as solid as they come--perfect for pairing with that red curry soup (trust me on this one). We love Hermosa Brewing! Great beer selection, delicious food, friendly ambiance, and awesome staff. Pulled pork sandwich, buffalo chicken wings, and Korean Tacos were all excellent. Can't say enough about the friendly service.

Wonderful food & beer in the relaxed atmosphere full of beach vibes. Patient and helpful staff. Some games for some entertainment. Love the menu & different kinds of beer. Parking is not so bad if you pick a nearby parking structure, etc. definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to hang out while enjoying quality food and drinks! If you like their beer so much, you can seldom purchase cans at supermarkets.

The service sucks. Sunday Feb 16th. The first hostess we got was very accommodating and nice. She talked us through the beers and ciders. After she left we got the white girl with blue leggings problem. The hostess/ waitress we got was just shitty. Straight attitude problem and pretty much talked down to us when we asked a simple question. I don't know if she was just having a crappy day but she sucks. If I was the owner of this establishment I'd have a talk with her. Our family will never be coming back again. Great place but shitty waitress.

Everything chef Aaron makes is amazing!! I especially love the carnitas tacos and the albondigas soup. Can't go wrong with anything you order there though

If you live locally and haven't ordered off the chef's board, you are seriously missing out. Chef Aaron has done an amazing job elevating the menu of this local brewery. The scallop ceviche was one of the most delicate and delicious dishes I have ever eaten. It literally melted in my mouth. The panzanella salad was light and just as tasty. Aaron does a great job of explaining where each ingredient is sourced from and I really appreciate the amount of care he puts into his food/menu. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I love coming here when in the area as I am never disappointed!

Came here on a Friday night without a reservation. We were a group of 3 and we were seated fairly quick. They had to clean a table and that was it. Friendly staff but it there was only 2 or 3 people handling the tables and it was crowded so the service was kind of slow. We constantly had to try to get someone's attention when we wanted to put in our food order, ask for condiments, and grab the check. It probably took an extra 10-15 min overall. I ordered a taster of a guava beer and the red ale. Highly recommend both. I got the poblano tacos and surprisingly there wasn't much of a kick to it. I ended up asking for a hot sauce (waitress recommend the habanero sauce) and man that one was spicy. It was a great combo although kind of wish i asked for a slightly less spicy one. The beer helped cool down the spice at least!

Amazing!!! Hazy A.F and the Happy Happy IPA are the best Hazy's I've had My experience at Hermosa brewing has been one of the most welcoming / friendly / at home experiences ever and that's all because of Veronica!

One of the best kept secrets in the area. This place doesn't look like it would serve world class food from the outside but quietly it has an elite chef & owner who serves loyal patrons amazing dishes at a great price. The specials change constantly so order off of those for something that may never be offered again. Its not fancy and it's not pretentious so if that's what your looking for then head elsewhere.

Service lackluster, somewhat rude...food, average at best...beer, not so good. for an average place, there are much better, go elsewhere. Seems like they just opened, as they were somewhat frazzled and service was rude. Do Better!

I really like Hermosa Brewing. Some great beers and the chicken sando is excellent! Service is always friendly and helpful. Cerberus, a West Coast IPA is my "go to." Vibe is low-key and cool, better than the monkey business on Pier Ave. 5 stars

Great food and service. Aaron is a great chef. Daily specials are good. Wish there was a better wine selection as we aren't beer drinkers but still worth visiting on a regular basis.

This review is for the salmon tacos specifically as we didn't try anything else. I love salmon tacos and these were really tasty. No complaints except for wish there were 3 instead of 2 because they were great. We also tried a side of French fries, which weren't particularly exciting but they were good. We also tried their "Ollie" and "Cerberus" which were tasty. Great service and small cozy food local food vibes.

Nice spot to grab a beer and a snack during the day time! Love coming here after a brunch or lunch nearby and relax. Large selection of beers. We tend to grab some apps to share so really haven't had the wings or sandwiches here but always see people order em. Service has always been solid. Can order at the bar but generally someone is always swinging to see if you need any more beers! Indoor and an outdoor area, great for people watching haha.

Great little spot that hosted my baby shower! Right on the main strip! They have NA beers too which I love! Always nice to have the option to drink a beer in a brewery even if it's nonalcoholic!

Always a wonderful experience with the Hermosa Brewing team and Chef Aaron...these folks are truly a hidden gem in the South Bay!

As a local I have probably been here ~10 times over the last few years and have usually enjoyed my visits. They have a decent food menu for the size of the place. The good: - Staff is friendly - Food is pretty good - Nice outdoor seating area The bad: - The beers aren't great and when I have been in they are usually out of my the type that I enjoy, not sure if it is a seasonal issue or not.

I've been here 20+ times. The food is great. The beers are average at best, and haven't changed in the three years I've been going there. About a third of the time they're out of certain beers and pour from a can. What really irritates me about this place is the reservation system. You'll turn up as late as 9 PM and the restaurant is half empty and be told "we're fully booked". Even with reservations on OpenTable, you'll be told "that's not up-to-date". The staff are salty most of the time. This place is fine for a beer, but it's not good by any measure. Then again, beggars can't be choosers in the culinary wasteland of Hermosa.

Perfect little spot if you're visiting hermosa. The chef is 10/10 as kind as he is creative and thoroughly consistent in his creations. Delicious. We loved the Korean tacos, beer selection, hot chicken sandwich, and the Panzenella salad (a fun take without lettuce). PS bring your dog they have treats.

I went here as a party of 6, with a reservation, for dinner. When we arrived, they sat us at a square table for 2 - 4. We asked to move 4 times throughout the night, with all of us ordering full meals and sides, but they never let us move or even merge our table with an empty one. There were two empty tables near us for the duration of our meal, with a single person seated at one of the empty four-seated tables for about 30 minutes. There was also another party of 6, that arrived after us, and were allowed to move from a table like ours to a table for 6, which we were told not to do.

Hit the spot. Burger was perfect, fries crispy, beer real tasty and cold. I will be back

Solid beer and solid food. Usually gets pretty crowded so try and grab a reservation in OpenTable if you plan on going just for peace of mind!

My boyfriend and I came by 30mins before closing on a Monday and still received exceptional service from the staff. Didn't feel rushed at all despite our late arrival (sorry about that!) The fries were on the saltier end, but still enjoyable. If you're looking for good flavor, I would recommend the Korean tacos!

Great place with good beer, cider and wine choices. They also have two Dane rooms with lots of pinball and arcade machines.

I love coming to Hermosa Brewing when I come to town. Nice, small, and relaxing atmosphere only a skip away from the beach. Great variety of beers from a Czech Pilsner to a double IPA and sours. I've never had the food but they got a great menu! Thanks for some of the recommendations Stephen!

Pick up order. Easy. Nashville Hot chicken sandwich came packed for travel. Bread separated from slaw and meat. Made for a tasty crispy sandwich when I got back to my hotel. So full, the wings had to wait. Buffalo wings crunchy spicy with ranch and dipping veggies. Everything flavorful and seasoned Had a nice cold beer while sitting for pick up. Vibe seemed chill. Restaurant with outdoor curbside seating. I would come back for another one or two.

After a hot afternoon at the beach, I was craving a burger and a beer. Hermosa Brewing is within waking distance from the pierzone but is outside the epicenter, so it's way less crowded. I had the mushroom burger, which was on the special menu. EXCELLENT. The server was fantastic, very professional. The hazy IPA was also exactly perfect to satisfy my craving.

I eat here all the time because the food is delicious (especially Aaron's specials menu), the beers are excellent and the service is stellar. Indoor or outdoor seating and dog friendly.

Resting on its laurels, the beer is good. Good enough to carry the poor service and sticky tables? ( how do you sell food in a place where people are not comfortable touching anything?). I had the New York Cheese crumble sandwich which was really good. So, good beer, good food, two stars? Service and sticky. They need to step up their game before summer. Or maybe people sticky with sunscreen won't care?

Regrettably, the service I encountered was far from satisfactory and marred the overall experience. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that the server lacked basic hospitality skills. They appeared disinterested and inattentive, making it difficult to get their attention when needed. It took an unreasonably long time to place my order and receive any sort of service. However, the most egregious part of the service occurred at the end of my meal. As I was finishing up, the server, with an evident lack of tact, aggressively thrust a tablet with tipping suggestions into my face, expecting a gratuity. This manipulative and intrusive behavior was beyond unprofessional. It created an uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere, leaving me feeling coerced into leaving a tip, despite the fact that the server had not earned it. The server's performance throughout the meal did not merit a gratuity. Their disinterested demeanor, lack of attentiveness, and pushy tactics when it came to tipping were all indicative of a server who did not genuinely care about providing a positive dining experience. Tipping should be a reflection of exceptional service, which was sorely lacking in this case. In conclusion, my visit to Hermosa Brewing Co. left me torn between the flavorsome food and the deeply disappointing service. The exceptional quality of the food was overshadowed by the server's poor performance and their manipulative approach to tipping. It is disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior in a hospitality establishment. I sincerely hope that Hermosa Brewing Co. addresses these service issues promptly and ensures that future customers can enjoy their meals without feeling coerced into leaving a tip for undeserving servers.

Great food. Chile lime wings are sooo good. Wings are double fried and crispy. Beer was good had the DIPA Everyday Sunshine.

Jorge, owner, is an absolutely splendid proprietor. The quality of his product is absolutely unmatched! Jorge makes you feel like a friend & family member of his terrific Hermosa Brewing as soon as you enter!! Jeff, his awesome professional manager is similar to Jorge in all regards. Jeff is immensely accurate in sharing his expertise regarding the entire available rotating product selection! His passion & care for each & everyone of his guests comes through loud and clear! After your initial visit you will be locked in to your new favorite Brewing Company, definitely take that to the bank!

This place is amazing not only because of the food and the amazing g chef abs cook staff they have but Veronica and Jess kill it every time I am in here. They go out of there way to greet and keep it all running smoothly and some nights it's busy and they both have smiles on there faces. The restaurant is always clean and well stocked and the atmosphere is friendly. I highly recommend you have a beer here and try something off the special board!!

We went for a flight after biking the beach. It's $12.50. My favorite was the Berliner Weiss. Not too sweet or sour. The barrel aged beer was heavy on the bourbon flavor. There is no bar seating. They have indoor and outdoor dining with servers. Our server was great. We did not order any food.

Completely ridiculous. There were 5 open tables at 1:30 in the afternoon and we were told it would be 45 minutes before we would be able to be seated. Inside or outside. Would be zero if that was an option.

We popped in here for just 1 beer, but I definitely look forward to returning soon when we have time for more beers and we're hungry. Nice spot with a fair amount of outside seating...excellent service...respectable beer list...intriguing food menu. What's not to like? Cheers to that, see you soon, Hermosa Brewing!

Cute place! I'm from the PNW so I'm kinda a brewery snob, and I did't think this one was anything super exceptional. BUT I have many positive things to say. All of the beers on tap sounded wonderful; only one friend at the table ordered a beer, which she was very pleased with. As a non-beer drinker, I was disappointed there were no ciders or seltzers on tap (although I'm starting to learn this is def the norm, not the exception in SoCal.) There were multiple canned or bottled non-beer options, like wine, frose, and some canned ciders. I got a canned cider (the super dry), which I really enjoyed. My friend got an arugula salad, and it was SO big. It looked like a full bag of arugula - she said it was super good. We also got an order of the thicker fries based on our server's rec, and they were good! Which brings me to the highlight of our experience: our server, Brandon! He was so lively! Great with recommendations, giving thorough and honest descriptions of various menu items, and also was just a fun guy. He even brought us a small froze after he heard us talking about it, on the house. He was so nice. I would come back just to see and support him. I also loved the outdoor seating! So yeah, come for a solid Cali brewery with great staff.

This is a great spot to grab lunch and a few beers. I came here with a party of five on a Saturday around 1pm and there was no wait, but definitely no harm in making a reservation or calling ahead to check. A good amount of outdoor seating (though that filled up quickly after our arrival) and about the same amount indoors. Beer recommendations: Windmill - Pilsner. Recommended to us by our amazing server! Pier to Pier - pale ale. I actually liked this one better than the Pilsner (though it seems the Pilsner is their most popular). They serve pitchers! Food: Korean Wings - I saw a couple reviews recommending these but I would not. The flavor of the sauce was good (though I think there was too much on there), but they were too heavily breaded. Very messy. Pretzel - baked fresh with each order so takes a little longer than expected to come out, but it was so good! Comes with mustard and a cheese dip. BLT - delicious and lots of bacon! You can add avocado too. Bacon Marmalade Burger - This was a special recommended to us by our amazing server! I didn't try it but it got great reviews from the person in my party who ordered it. Looked amazing!

Came here on a Friday evening for a relaxing bar-vibe chill dinner, and it was exactly what we were looking for. I'm a sucker for a good brewery, and an even bigger sucker if the brewery serves good food! The beer selection here is pretty good, it's safe in that most people should be able to find a beer they like, but it's unlikely that any of the beers will blow you away. That being said, the selection is respectable and the location of this place is a block from the beach. Can't argue with that. The food was surprisingly good here. We had the Korean-style tacos and the fried chicken sandwich, and both were awesome. I honestly can't pick which one I'd get again (probably both), the next time we go. My only qualm with this place was that they ran out of taster glasses which made it impossible to order a flight of beers. Any brew co can't run out of tasters! It was a minor inconvenience, but something that they should definitely fix. That being said, we'll definitely be back. It's a perfect spot for a chill dinner date or a nice lunch.

Get on the waitlist! or not. Since it was quite packed, service was a little slow but I don't blame them. I ordered the tuna sashimi and it was simply okay. For the price, I thought there would be more and it was just nearly 4-5 slivers of tuna on greens. Great beer choices though!

I absolutely love this small brewery! The staff is always great & make sure you're well taken care of. Not to mention that you can just walk around Hermosa Ave right after enjoying some beers. They don't just have IPAs, they have a good variety of beers which is a plus. It sucks going to breweries where they just have certain beer on tap. West coast IPAs are my go-to. "Left my wallet" is definitely one of my favorite! Jeff is awesome!! Kiara took my order & was so nice. The food here is phenomenal I love coming here on random week days. It's never extremely loud as I'm able to work from my phone.

I LOVE trivia night. SO MUCH FUN!!! It's busy, but the service is always friendly and ON POINT. Food can be a wait, BUT WORTH IT. Everything is fresh, creative and absolutely delicious. Don't miss the special board!!!
