Heyday Review - Financial District - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Some combinations just work. Like Steph and Klay or BART stations and urine stench. Or soup, sandwich, and salad combos in office-heavy neighborhoods that actually need them. So, people of FiDi, meet Hey Day, if you haven't yet. Most importantly, meet its $11 lunch special. You can choose any small salad, soup or half sandwich for $6.50; combine any two for $11. Like the salad bar, you can get a couple different flavors, but at least here, a professional is curating for you. If you nicely ask your server, they'll spoon multiple salads into one container to get diversify your lunch even further. There are about a dozen options daily, with a frequently changing menu. Everything's fresh and healthy (or at least feels that way) - think beets, lentils, faro, kale, etc. You won’t be needing that George Costanza desk nap at 2:30. Heyday is an excellent respite from the usual pay-by weight salad bar below your office where you can never decide what theme salad to make and always end up with some monster Chinese-chicken-Cobb-Southwest-Greek hybrid. And that's why we're telling you about it. In a sea of mediocrity, this is just about the best reliable lunch option we've come across in the area. At Heyday, nothing looks or tastes like it’s been sitting on ice under a sneeze guard for 4 hours, and that alone goes a long way around here. Food Rundown Raw Kale Salad Oh hello toasted sunflower seeds. Thanks for coming over. Have you met my friend avocado yogurt dressing? You guys should get to know each other. Green Lentil & Cabbage Salad This is so healthy, it counts as going on two runs. Just shake your Fitbit a bunch while eating. Moroccan Chickpea Salad Super filling, if you’re worried about getting hungry mid-afternoon. Sometimes a bit heavy on the oil/vinegar if they’re getting to the bottom of the huge Heyday serving bowl. But some people are into that. Fra’Mani Mortadella Sandwich We wish they never changed this from the killer salami, fennel and parmesan sandwich of yore, but still a nice, little Italian sando. Meatloaf Sandwich The cold meatloaf sandwich might raise some eyebrows, but trust that with the peppy chimichurri on top, this little guy will not disappoint." - Calder Silcox

"An appointment at this no-frills day spa (there are five throughout the city) is wonderfully personalized: You choose the duration of your treatment (thirty, fifty, or seventy-five minutes) and set your goals with your skin therapist. Every treatment comes with a deep cleanse, exfoliation, custom mask, and hydration, then ends with sunscreen protection (the fifty- and seventy-five-minute options also have extractions). Upgrades include peels, microdermabrasion, and light therapy, and if you need monthly treatments, there is a membership program. Bonus: Appointments are available until 9 p.m., making an after-work facial actually doable."

Amber S. Did an amazing job on my facial , It was my first time doing Dermaplaning . She made sure I was comfortable and explained everything step by step. Not only did she have me walking out radiant but she provided me with after care tips and referred me to products for my skin type. 10 of 10 service will book again Book Amber S. She Is Amazing 🫶🏾🤞🏾

I just had my first experience at HeyDay and it was amazing! The girls at the front desk were so friendly and made me feel comfortable as soon as I walked in! My skin therapist was Marjorie and she was so kind and gentle with my skin! I’m completely smooth and glowing now! Can’t wait to come back! 💗

Shadiya is the most genuine, honest, gentle, easy going person I probably know. Whenever I get a facial by her, I just know I’m going to be glowing afterwards. She’s very sweet and realistic, doesn’t cut corners and makes sure you feel your absolute BEST before you leave her chair. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Definitely my go-to every time I’m at Hey Day. Thanks babe! <3.

I’ve been hunting around for facial spots around the city and after one appointment here I knew this was the place I’d be sticking with. Lisbeth was kind, friendly, easy to talk to and such a good facialist! Other places make me feel bad for using the wrong products but she was so easy to talk to and helpful. I felt like my skinny instantly worked through breakouts after the appointment and my skin was naturally GLOWING for my engagement the following weekend. I’m so grateful and excited to return!

I've been getting a facial once a month at Heyday for over a year now. I look forward to going every month as my esthetician, Marjorie, is so friendly and knowledgeable in her job and makes each experience so relaxing and rejuvenating. I've seen such an improvement in the appearance of my skin, since getting facials here at Heyday. The front desk staff is incredibly welcoming as well and makes me feel so special every time I come in. I can't say enough good things about my experiences at Heyday! I highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a convenient way to get facials! By no means should you expect your face to be celeb-perfect after one round from here but if you're just looking for a nice pick-me-up on a monthly basis, this is a good start! I like how there are multiple locations around nyc but the NoMad one is the one closest to my work so I frequent there now. I've met with a couple of estheticians and some of my faves are Marjorie (who also is amazing with the guasha), Monica T and Allison O who are both so knowledgeable and really help build a facial routine that benefits your face. Thankfully the ones I've met never have pushed anything on me -- product wise. They do make recommendations but only if I ask!

Yelp
I love facials and everything skincare so Heyday has been a go to for me for the past several months! Being a member, this week I received a cute gift during September's member appreciation month. As for my facial, the microdermabrasion add-on was a game-changer. My esthetician was both gentle and knowledgeable, ensuring a comfortable experience. My skin was left glowing, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Heyday Nomad is truly a gem and I highly recommend them for your next facial!

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable service! I don't know much about skincare and wanted to hear some expert advice, as well as give my skin a reset. Jacqueline had beautiful skin so I easily trusted whatever she had to say!! She walked me through each step of the process and explained to me what each item does... my skin felt really nice afterwards! I give this place 3.5 stars because I was told I would receive an email after with the products used, and I never did. Also, I didn't love how right after the first cleanse when I was trying to relax and get into the process, I was immediately bombarded with add on options and things to upcharge me on, as if I didn't look into those things prior. And as much as I really did enjoy my service, it kind of felt like it was something I could do myself once I got the product names, not worth a $140.... Maybe if it was cheaper I would consider doing it monthly! Overall not bad, I enjoyed my time there. I do plan to go back and give it another shot but for those who really like the spa-like experience and are experts in skincare, not sure this is for you.

Yelp
Update! After a disappointing first experience at Heyday, I am happy to say my second experience was awesome. I initially left a pretty poor review, which is not usually like me and felt awkward, but right away the Manager approached the situation and wanted to make sure my expectations were met. I am so impressed with the management and the company they are striving for. Also my facial was so relaxing and my esthetician was very informative on my personal skin. Thank you for an awesome experience, I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Yelp
This place is great !! Amazing facial & super friendly staff, not pushy at all just supportive & good overall vibes !! I booked a facial and loved it so much I signed up for the monthly membership. Can't wait to go back next month

Yelp
This was very disappointing, my first and probably my last time at Heyday. Went to the Nomad location and this was the most basic service for a rather hefty price. The competitors have it so much better, no pore vacuum nothing. I didnt even feel any extractions really and my time under the LED light was rushed, the receptionist was kind enough to give me a 20$ discount but I still feel rather ripped off and unsatisfied. I would really like to see an improvement and hope to be contacted by the management.

Yelp
I love everything about this place. The hours, products available, all staff, and of course the amazing esthetician. Lucas S. I have seen him twice now and both experiences were amazing. He always goes above and beyond and does such a great job at treating my skin when it's having a mental breakdown. Thank you for always treating me and my skin so well (:

Yelp
I stopped into Heyday to try a 30 minute facial just to scope it out. Even though I booked the shortest facial, I never felt rushed and felt as though my tech, Julianna customized my facial to fit my needs. I ended up getting the peel & microderm add ons. Julianna walked me through the entire process and was able to answer all of my questions. After the facial, she recommended a few productions and gave me samples. I'm obsessed with the B Enzyme cleanser she gave me - it can be used by itself as as a cleansing oil or with water for a milkier vibe. It's been three weeks since my first facial and my skin is still glow-y and my acne spots have lightened tremendously. I'm so excited to go back this weekend for a 50 minute facial with Julianna!

Yelp
I've had many great facials before and this one was horrible! I had a 50 min facial at heyday nomad and it was not worth it at all. Firstly, the facial does not come with the standard steamer to open your pores, the extraction was done with the facial persons fingernails, there is no cooling face mask after the extractions to calm the face, no massaging of the temples and if any, the massaging on my face was way too soft. I could have done this facial myself. Additionally, I had experienced a reaction to my lips. The facial person added lip balm to my lips at the end of the treatment and now my lips continue to sting, they've split my lips and it's red. I constantly have to put lip balm on my lips as at the lip balm they used on me gave me immediately gave me this adverse reaction. I emailed them and got no response. Don't waste your time and money! Don't go here!

Yelp
This is my first time visiting this location but my third facial with the company. Pros: Ashley was really knowledgeable. She passed along some information I felt was specific to my skin needs which I appreciated. Having black skin, I know I need to be more conscious of hyperpigmentation and dry skin and she addressed my concerns. When it came down to extractions, it didn't hurt as much as they usually do. Cons: too loud, too bright, and too open. You can literally hear everyone, including the people in the lobby. At one point, my esthetician was unconsciously talking a little loud so that I can hear her. I prefer the UWS location where the lights are dim and the curtains actually section off each room. It felt less personable at this location. I felt there were things the UWS location uses that wasn't used her like the blue light machine. Overall the facial itself was fine. My main concern was the overall ambiance. I do like going to heyday but this location isn't the one if you're looking for a quieter scene.

Yelp
Love me some Heyday! I've seen multiple aestheticians here and have always had a great experience. Saw Monett most recently and honestly she is going to be your new Zit Hype girl (bet you didn't even know you needed one)! She was just as pumped about de-gunking my face as I was - gentle but effective with extractions. They make great suggestions but are never pushy about product. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to my first facial with Heyday. I even bought a membership after reading the great reviews and visiting the NoHo location. However, my experience today at their Nomad location was one of the worst facials I've had. I do facials every month or so (to give some context) and have tried all sorts of high-end places (Caudalie, Sisley, Mandarin Oriental) and more affordable ones like Buttercup, Sacred Skincare and MoonFlower. But this stood out. Firstly, I called to change my appointment and they got the time wrong, so I ended up waiting about 40 mins. The receptionists were nice enough but did not offer any beverages during the wait. Then, the worst part came. The rooms were separated by partitions instead of walls, not a problem and I knew this walking in. BUT the curtain covering each "room" did NOT cover the whole room. There was about a three foot gap in the middle (yes, feet not inches.) If I opened my eyes while on the table I could see the woman across from me getting her treatment. Also, anyone could walk by and see me, or stand there and stare while I had my eyes closed. The last straw here was that I got the worst "room" that was completely exposed to the lobby area. When I put my bag down next to the treatment bed I could lock eyes with the receptionist and even see into the STREET. (See photo) When I get facials, especially one close to an hour, I prefer it to be a relaxing experience. At Heyday, I couldn't take off my uncomfortable jeans or my button down top (which got touched a few times with product and wet towels.) I could hear (and see) the two women standing feet away from my feet talking about their experience with Sephora and Drunk Elephant products. The provided blanket couldn't cover my bare feet and my chest at the same time. The bright lights from the exposed, industrial ceilings were shining on my face the entire time. I worried about who was looking at me or walking by every time I heard footsteps. It was extremely unpleasant. Finally, the facial itself. The facialist was friendly enough but did not have good facial massage or application technique and got product in my eyes FOUR times. She wiped it away as she noticed but kept repeating her mistake. The worst was the third time when the enzyme exfoliator got in and it really hurt. I was also wearing contact lenses and it made the whole thing worse. Also when she was doing extractions on my forehead, her ring and pinky fingers dug into my eye sockets which left me with a small tension headache, which was amplified by the complete lack of neck and head support with their chairs. By the end of it I really just wanted to get out of there. Two stars for the nice smelling products and they fact they email you with what they used. But I honestly cannot justify the quality of this facial for this price when there are so, so many comparably-priced, better facials out there.

Yelp
This was my very first facial, so I was a bit nervous. The people here were really nice and accommodating. Some emergency came up on the morning of my appointment, I thought I can't make it there on time, so I called to ask if they can move my appointment to 30 min later slot. It was already 1 hour before my original appointment at that time, but they worked with me and told me no problem. I ended up being able to get there on time, and they put me into earlier spot than the re-scheduled time which was great. I chose 50 min facial ($95), and my main concern was blackheads on my nose. It is out of control.. it is like blackheads family decided to take residence on my nose, invited all the relatives, had babies and grand babies, and kept on growing the number on my nose. I usually go to my best friend, Bioré nose strip for help, but it can only remove maybe half the blackheads (if I'm lucky), and they come back within a couple of days. My aesthetician, Alvina was great, listened to my daily routine (which is almost non-existing), evaluated my skin, and recommended me to add a deeper cleaning (peel, $35) since my skin needed extra help (I knew it did need some REAL help). She explained everything she was doing during the facial. She told me that the nose strip isn't really the solution, and my skin really needed facials. She worked on my blackheads and was telling me how different it will look compared to the nose strip. She was excited to show me my skin, and I could not wait to see the result. When I stood in front of a big mirror they have, my reaction was "WOW!!!" My nose was so clean, most of the black heads were gone, and yes, sooooo different from the nose strip! My skin looked clean, shiny (not greasy but had a lot of cream and lotion stuff on it), and really healthy. She said "imagine If your skin can look this good after one facial, how much better it can look if you continue with your facial?" I hear you... I loved my facial and this will not be the end, it is just the beginning. She recommend me three products, and asked me several times if I was comfortable with the price (yes they were pricey) of the products she was recommending. They were not cheap, by any means, but it is something that will last 6 months or so (as I was told), and therefore it is not something I need to buy so often. We only get one skin, so I said my skin is worth the price. They have construction going on right next door, so the noise of construction was a bit distracting, and since the set up is king of open, separated only by curtains, I could hear other people talking too. But mostly it was relaxing and peaceful. When everything was quiet enough, I could here some background music. It was a fun experience, and my skin was happy!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
After receiving a recommendation from my dermatologist, I've become a fan of HeyDay facials. It's certainly nice but no frills with curtains separating the rooms and not exactly quiet as the aestheticians ask you about your skin and talk you through which products they are using. Price wise it's $65 for 30min, $95 for 50min or $140 for 75min with add on treatment options as well. After going a handful of times, I chose to splurge on the subscription service which is a monthly membership which gives you 10% off products, 10% additional facials, $5 enhancement treatments, Event access/occasional surprises (not sure what that's about). I will say I found a couple aesthetician recommend products that I later found did not work for my skin (big bummer to both my pocket & face). That being said, I cannot recommend the aesthetician Keith at the Nomad location more! He knew exactly which products to use, my skin looked much more glowy than prior facials, was not overly picked and feels better too. Success finally!
google avatar

Jacqueline J.

Yelp
Tried a facial here today (50 minute facial with microdermabrasion enhancement) and overall had a great experience. The esthetician did a great job at customizing the facial to my skin's specific needs and explaining everything she was doing. I walked out of here with my face glowing and feeling great.

Ashley J.

Yelp
I have given Heyday multiple chances at different locations, but they are extremely inconsistent. I have always gone to Heyday for convenience, but I think the lack of consistency is going to keep me from coming back ever again. I recently spent ~$240 for a facial here and my face now has dry flaky patches that weren't there before even though I notified them that one of my primary goals was hydration. I also now have a painful and inflamed pore that was not there previously either. Over the past day or so I've tried to really pack on the moisturizer but no matter what I do, my skin still has all these dry patches from the facial and I am also upset that I have this red bump now when I had clear skin before . At the Noho location I got a facial once that caused scarring on my face that still hasn't completely gone away after they tried popping open a blemish that was definitely not ready to be popped. I probably should have stopped going after that but that was my mistake. Your money is better spent elsewhere. As other reviewers have mentioned, the environment is not exactly calming either - not what you would typically expect when getting a facial. I don't personally mind this but some people might. I have gotten facials since I was a young teen and some of Heyday's facials have to rank amongst my worst. Everyone is generally very nice and sometimes the facials are okay but it's very hit or miss and I would rather not risk it anymore.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Okay, so this is really about the environmental experience. When I get a facial or see an skincare specialist, I expect the following: a very chill vibe, robes, relaxing music, quiet, privacy, and care and attention spent on my skin. I had not one but TWO facebook friends suggest I check out Heyday. It was overwhelming and underwhelming all at the same time. There is ZERO privacy, everyone can see you. Very minimal curtains. You leave all your clothing on. It was FREEZING in there, I couldn't even take my hoodie off. I could hear every single conversation around me. A machine that sounded like a tattoo machine. No quiet. No relaxation. I left with great feeling skin, but not relaxed, and not worth the price I paid. I will go back to traditional spa experiences, where you pay maybe (I'm not even sure that you do!) a little extra, but holy smokes will you get so much more than this place. I would call it a nail salon, only for your face.
google avatar

Yelp
What an incredible experience!!! (50 minute facial) Seriously from the moment I walked in I knew I made the right choice for my first ever facial. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and made me feel at ease. Tiffany was my skin therapist and LET ME TELL YOU she was GREAT! She walked me through the process and kept me well informed about the products and what they were going to do for my skin. I never get to treat myself and I finally got to give all love to my face. The idea of spas always intimidated me but I feel like Heyday blew away my expectations and made me feel comfortable and cozy. Could you believe she offered me a blanket? I felt like I was at home. I also got some great samples at the end of my service for key products she suggested so I can try them out at home! All in all, the products felt and smelled wonderful, she was super gentle with extractions and the massage, and i stepped out of the place GLOWING. My face feels soso hydrated (which was one of my main concerns) and I'm excited to return! Unfortunately Tiffany works in the Upper Westside location regularly but I'm sure the rest of the staff are just as on point! Thank you again xoxo

Yelp
This place is awesome! My facial was with Kellsie (who works at the 19th street location usually) - she really cared about helping my skin. She asked me about my skincare routine - told me my skin looked dry and my pores are very small under the microscope- things I haven't ever really been aware of before. She also gave me so many helpful tips for how to apply products and which products are probably over drying my skin. I loved the heat therapy and the products were all amazing - obviously the extractions were the best part. I like that they use the best range of products (not just one particular brand). She then emailed me a "facial recap" and send me the links to products that would work out for me. The rooms aren't what I expected - curtains separating each room but the quality of the service was great - my skin is glowing 24 hours later even through my SoulCycle class and after a shower. I'm so excited to come back! This is also such a great gift idea - I would love to get/give giftcards to here. I like that the concept is for the "every day New Yorker" - not a fancy spa that wouldn't take the time to care about your skin, really.

Ella M.

Yelp
Went to Heyday after work while on a business trip and absolutely loved it. Marjorie was amazing did a great job with extractions without making them too painful. The space is wonderful and relaxing, and everyone I interacted with was great. Plus, if it's your first time, you get $20 off! Highly recommend!

Danielle G.

Yelp
Cannot stress how overpriced this place is. For the treatment that you get (open space, oddly wrapped in a sheet with your street clothes and shoes on) this is probably double the price that it should be. My esthetician was awesome, there really wasn't much she could have done to make my experience better. It's just overall underwhelming and I'm disappointed in the service considering the price, even with the $20 first time discount. Bummer!

Nisha H.

Yelp
I am of the unpopular opinion here, but have had a terrible time at Heyday. I do recommend placed like Joanna Vargas and Great Jones. Heyday is just horrible all around; incredibly poor service, really scammy type of membership, and mediocre quality. Heyday is just very commonly known, so tends to be the default for New Yorkers, which leads them to not need to try hard. But if you're going to spend the money, why not investigate or go to one of these more premium places? Hope this helps!

Yelp
Several problems with this place that left me without getting a facial the day before traveling. Firstly, I booked a facial online for 1 PM and was running 5 minutes behind. Out of courtesy, I called the location about 5 times to let them know and left them several voice mails. I was never called back, and literally ran 5 blocks to try to make it there on time. I arrived to the place being nearly empty and to the receptionist telling me it is okay that I'm late. I would have appreciated a phone call to let me know that it's fine so I don't run worrying that it will cut into my service time. Once I laid down to get the facial, I warned my esthetician that I have a cold sore which I took medication for and is nearly gone but to watch out for it. In the past estheticians would place a piece of cloth on that part of my mouth and just work around it. The woman didn't want to work on me and instead sent me home. This is by far ridiculous. I put aside two hours to come here and nothing on the website or while I was booking an appointment asked me if I currently have an outbreak. If you don't treat someone because of that, make it known on your website or give a small questionnaire before booking. Should I have known, I would have went to my previous place.
google avatar

Ka C.

Yelp
I've been to Heyday for a few times now, and enjoyed my experience each time. The prices are a bit high but fair (in my opinion, going for the $95 facial with extractions is def more worth than the $65). My favorite aspect of Heyday however is that they do not try to pressure you to buy a million products for your routine from their store. I was always suggested 1 product, and there's no pressure to commit to buying it.

Yelp
This place is relaxing, clean, and trendy. You can easily make an appointment, it's affordable, and their aestheticians are attentive. That being said, if you know your skin and follow even half of a "Korean 10 step process" then you can diy at home. Shine a bright light on your face and extract yourself. If you just want to be pampered a bit or get a skin refresh from someone else then this is your place (or train your partner, roommate, spouse, friend to shine that light and spread moisturizer all over). Btw, Hanna is awesome. Their papaya exfoliating face wash smells delicious. You can purchase products without receiving facial.

Amy G.

Yelp
Came here for a 50 minute facial. The facial was ok, I've had better.. I added a gua sha enhancment... which was what i was looking forward to (llymphatic drainage)... but I don't think my esthetician knew how to perform gua sha... she just brushed my face with the tool, not stimulating anything.. gua sha on the face is gentle, but not THAT gentle... she was so gentle that i did not feel any pressure at all.. it was like brushing a feather over my skin.. you're supposed to use a bit more pressure...my face muscles should feel it... I can do better myself at home. Anyway, I will not be returning. Im kind of annoyed that I spent $158 (with tip), but at least I got my extractions done....

Yelp
***Great service, Very relaxing, Highly recommend*** Trying to find a skin care place in NYC that is affordable and centrally located to your convenience is often a challenge. I stumbled upon Heyday after reading about them in an online article. I had Liana, which I highly recommend. She was very attentive and checked in often to make sure I was doing fine. She took the time to assess my skin and quickly identified areas needing more care. She also talked me through all the products that were being used which I appreciated. I highly recommend trying this place out if you're interested in a skin care service that gets rid of all the frills you often deal with in skin care studios (e.g. pushing to purchase products and membership).

Yelp
So I've walked past the UES location many times and last night was suffering with a migraine and though "lets give this a try tomorrow". While UES only had a 7pm appointment available this location had a 9am which i grabbed. I liked the location- easy to get to. The space itself was really different. I read enough reviews to know to expect a funky open layout. Kelly took care of me. She was soft spoken and did a great job! I got the one hour treatment and loved it. My clean feels so clean and fresh! I could hear other clients chatting but honestly- it was pleasant and the music was nice and i was able to relax. While I wont be signing up for a monthly membership- i will be going back before summer for sure. Side note- while membership was offered I did not feel pressured at all to join. A huge bonus.

Yelp
I had been traveling for a very long time and my skin needed some major TLC. After reading all the rave reviews about this place I made an appointment online. The booking process was very easy, paid online. I booked a 30 minute session. When I got there, I was greeted by the front desk who asked me to fill out a short application. Definitely welcoming and the place was very chic and clean. I got paired up with Liliana G. She was very welcoming and kind. She examined my skin and started the facial. The facial itself was fine, but for the price that I was paying I did not think it did anything for me. My face still felt very dry and meh the next day. Unfortunately, I will not be going back. For the price that you are paying, there are so many other places in NYC that are much better.

Yelp
Skin feels and looks amazing after my 50 minute facial. Will definitely be frequenting the NoMad location. Loved the process and they were absolutely not product pushers like most other places you go. My therapist was 15 minutes late - totally fine, stuff happens and I loved her - and they did not have me pay for the session. That is just great customer service and will be one of the many reasons I visit again.

Yelp
MEH. Don't believe the hype... I made a same day appointment after work. I asked my friends if they knew any places for a facial since my skin has been feeling ultra dry because of this weather. One person recommended Heyday and upon reading reviews and seeing that take appointments after 8pm, I decided to give them a try. I chose the Flatiron location since they have availability after I got off work. The booking process was very easy, paid online. I booked a 50 minute session. When I got there, I was greeted by front desk who asked me to fill out a short application and asked me if I wanted water. Definitely welcoming and the place was very chic and clean. I got paired up with Erin. She greeted me but was very short with the conversations. She asked me if this was my first facial in which I told her no. She asked me if it was my first time at Heyday in which I told her yes. She DID ask me about my skin and what kind of products I used at home. She DIDN'T explain what she was doing throughout the process. I've had 30 minute facials and 60 minute facials from other places before and Heyday just felt SO rushed. I had no idea what she was doing or what she was putting on my face. Also, laying there and being able to hear other people's conversations 6 rooms over wasn't relaxing. I did leave with 2 little samples. In all, I've had better facials with asian boutiques in Chinatown and they were definitely cheaper. I'll pass on Heyday.

Yelp
Update*** i have been going here now for over a year . Started at the NOMAD location but when i moved to the UES i switched to that location . I got a membership and see Michael K now. He is the best. Only facials where extractions didn't hurt ! Also he recommends products but never is like pushy. He's the best Went today for a 30 minute facial bc a friend recommended. Couldn't be happier. I saw Antoinette who was great and even recommended a great serum which I ended up buying. I'm going away this weekend and wanted me skin to look it's best and I'm already happy with the results! I will definitely by back and am considering getting a membership (they didn't try to sell me on it which I appreciate). The location is very chill and everyone is very nice and welcoming .

Yelp
I was scheduled for my first professional facial by my daughter. I must say for my first experience it was above and beyond wonderful. My skin specialist Alix S. Was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about my skin and gave me a superb facial. She left my skin smooth like a baby's bottom! At the end she gave me pointers and samples to try. I'm hooked can't wait to go back and see her again. Thanks a million! Nancy Sanchez

Yelp
So disappointed. I was actually really relaxed during my treatment, and I liked the esthetician who worked on my skin, but in the couple of days since my facial, my skin has looked worse than ever. It's so irritated to the point that I can't wear makeup, and I've broken out all over my face. A lot of products they use are heavily fragranced, so very irritating. I wouldn't even say that my skin is easily irritated as I use 10-12 different products at home nightly with no issues. Huge waste of $140. Avoid.

Yelp
Going to Heyday was the best decision I made for my skin! I had been dealing with hormonal acne for a while and read about Heyday and decided to give it a try before seeing a dermatologist. I opted for the 50 minute facial and had such a great experience that I ended up signing up for the monthly membership. I've been going monthly for a over a year now and I can honestly say my skin has never looked better. I've seen Dina, Vivian and Jacqueline who are all incredible. I've learned so much about taking care of my skin, and all the facialists are so amazing at assessing any issues I have each month, while adjusting the facial to fit those needs. They are never pushy on the products, and often give free samples. I have ended up purchasing all my skincare products there because I really trust their recommendations and have not been let down. Lastly, I noticed some have commented on the atmosphere. I personally don't mind the openness of the layout, nor do I mind sometimes being able to hear people talking. While I do visit for some relaxing "me time," I care more about having an affordable way to take care of my skin, especially as someone who is always on the go. I enjoy the blankets and modern music, and all of the staff are always so nice. Plus it's a breeze to book appointments online. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
I like that their facials are somewhat more affordable than elsewhere. Their products are lovely and the experience is pleasant. I do get a bit of a factory vibe there, perhaps because it's one large room with beds, separated by curtains of course, unlike individual rooms you might get elsewhere. Also last time the aesthetician insulted my skin (!) which was less than relaxing. Otherwise for a basic facial this place is a good option.

Yelp
Heyday first-timer and it was a great experience! I knew going in there would be no luxurious frills (robes, calming music, etc.) but that being said, I thought it was A+ for an express facial boutique. I had a 50-minute facial with Jenna, and she was wonderful. She made me feel comfortable throughout the facial and was very informative on different aspect of my skin. She offered me a blanket to stay warm during my appointment and gave me a sample of a face mask to take home. Not pushy at all to buy product, but instead told me that my at-home facial regime seems to be working well for my skin. I had some congestion/blackheads around my cheeks and jawline and she was able to extract most of it! For a first visit, I'd say that's pretty good :). I ended up signing up for the monthly 50 facial membership. I've had facials in the past, and some of them have been amazing--but also very expensive. This experience was a slightly quicker version and more affordable so I can go often and give my skin more love. Products used all smelled incredible and I like that they are clean/non-toxic.

Yelp
My review is at 3 stars at the moment, pending my third visit. My first was with Jenna, and she was wonderful. Really talked about what I was there for, customized my facial, used lovely products, explained everything she was doing, massaged my face a lot with little downtime, and gave good recommendations. She also prepped my skin properly so that, despite many deep extractions, her skill resulted in minimal redness on my face. I had calm skin within an hour. I ended up buying two of the things she used on me. Will go to her again. The second facialist wasn't as good. Her massage technique was poor, a lot of downtime where I'm just lying there with no massage, and she extracted badly. It's been days and there is still a red mark on my cheek where she extracted a spot that wasn't ready to go yet. It also felt like she used less products on my face. I will not be going to her again. Tips for going: - Research the facialists on reviews and select the good people. - Get testers first before buying anything, since their return policy is strict with no opened items allowed. It will sometimes take a day for you to have a reaction to a product. It isn't their fault, but it will be yours if you buy it without waiting. - Be clear about what you are looking for, but don't be rude about it. Clear expectations helps them do their job. I will go back, for sure. Their staff is great, always helpful and polite. And completely worth the money you pay. I will just be very picky now about the facialist I book with.

Yelp
To be clear, the following has (mostly) nothing to do with the very nice aesthetician. She works here and is subject to their limitations. I am seething. Went to Heyday to get a 50 minute facial, because I was in desperate need of extractions on my nose and chin. As she was doing extractions, I could tell she wasn't squeezing that hard, but I thought, maybe the issues aren't as bad as I thought. Then she tells me that the very problem I came in for (whiteheads on nose for months), she couldn't resolve, because they don't use "invasive tools" a.k.a. Sterile needles. I came home and basically saw that she rubbed a bunch of "exfoliants", serums, and a masks on my face and did absolutely nothing. It cost the same as a much more chi-chi facialist I have been to ($95), but they did NOTHING. I regret not just going back to the chi-chi business (at least they do full extractions). I came home and did what I was trying to avoid and just extracted them myself: sterilized a needle, used my extractor and popped those suckers out. My nose looks like a mess, but I feel so much better. I double checked and used my extractor on the problem areas: My nose was still full of gunk, as was my chin. I spent the last twenty minutes of my facial stewing. Everyone was nice and the place is cool, so I was pleasant and pretended everything was fine, knowing I would NEVER COME BACK. No need to be rude, after all! Do not come here if you have serious skin issues; if they couldn't help me, they won't be able to help you. In fact, come to my apartment and I'll hook you up, because apparently, I do a more thorough job than this establishment.

Yelp
I wanted to come back and review again as I've now been a member for more than a year. Hands down my skin has never looked better! I continue to receive compliments on how great my skin looks. Highly recommend Eddie and Sue. Both have worked wonders keeping my skin glowing and clear.

Yelp
I love everything about Heyday. From the experience, the services and ease of booking appointments, this is the only way to get a facial. I've seen several different aestheticians at this location but my go to once I got engaged and started freaking out about my skin is Vivian. She's incredible, and has worked WONDERS on my skin these past few months, helping to eradicate stubborn adult acne and fading acne marks, as well as balancing my skin overall. I always leave looking glowy and radiant and can't wait to return. And perhaps the best thing of all - how not pushy whatsoever the entire staff is about products or upgrading services, unlike many other places I've been. The first time I came in for a facial, I inquired about their membership. Rather than force it down my throat as most places would, they told me about it and said to see how my skin reacted to my first facial, and if I was happy with the results to check it out online if I was still interested. Talk about refreshing. I do the alternating 30/60 minute facials and can honestly say it's the best money I spend each month.

Yelp
I usually go to their Broadway location, but I went to the UES one as I received a free 50 min facial for referring an X amount of friends about the new location (yay!) The location is beautiful and is two stories high with a whole lot of navy tints. I'm a fan. Esme was my aestheticians and I have to say that she is the best one I've had at Heyday. Personally, I feel as if the 30 min are a bit rushed and sometimes the product doesn't have time to just sit and flow. 50 min ones allow for everything to set at a slower pace, and I think Esme did a wonderful job at seeing what I needed for specific areas of my face and going off of that. My main problem is dark spots, and I felt that my face looked flawless and everything was the same color afterwards. Not sure how she did it, but I'm sure to be coming back to see her!

Yelp
I just had a wonderful facial with Maya N. She was very knowledgeable and gave an incredible face massage. My skin feels smooth and looks glow-y. I got the 75 minute facial which I thought was a great value. Looking forward to more facials with Maya N. in the future!

Yelp
Decent facial. Hard to relax, very cold and you can hear other people chatting loudly. I can only imagine all the positive reviews are from people who haven't had an actual decent facial. Would not go back or recommend.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect but goodness this was a relaxing, wonderful experience. The people were top notch kind and efficient and genuinely interested in my experience. My facial was done by Jacqueline and she was wonderful and explained different things that I could do to help my skin stay hydrated while keeping the relaxed vibe going. She was precious!! 10/10 recommend! This was given to me as a gift - great gift idea or great to do for yourself!

Yelp
I was sold after my first facial here in August and signed up for the alternating 30/50 monthly membership. Always look forward to my facials and come out glowing! Vivian is a master of glow and moisture. Eddie is amazing at extractions. Regardless of who you get, everyone is amazing at what they do. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love Heyday! Always come out with a glow and they work really well with you in creating a plan for better skin.

Yelp
This review is for Heyday, but the five stars is mostly for my amazing facialist, Sue (Susan S). I love the Heyday concept of "a gym for your skin." The store is chic, airy and modern and much more casual than the spas you may be used to (no closed off rooms - beds are separated by screens). However, the prices reflect this more casual concept for skincare. They carry natural, organic, animal friendly products, which is very important to me as a consumer. They make product recommendations at the end of your facials, but I have NEVER felt pressured to purchase anything (and often don't if I already have products at home that I'm happy with). I started seeing Sue over a year ago: I wanted to give myself 10 months to get my skin ready for my wedding and Sue took my goals seriously. She came up with a month-to-month regimen for us to follow, tailoring as needed with every appointment. I thought my skin looked amazing for the big day and I've continued to see Sue every month (alternating between 50 min and 30 min appointments). The Heyday concept really does make it easy for men and women to prioritize their skincare with minimum effort. I can't recommend their service, or Sue, enough.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, the price fits the service. The place I have been going for over five years had a change in management, which raised the prices almost double. So I thought I would try HeyDay. Everything about the facial was perfunctory, if it was customized I wouldn't know it, because nothing was explained to me. The extractions were poor, in both time spent and job done. I left still congested in my trouble spots and with large, red bumps where she had performed extractions. What changed my experience from just ok to poor was the aesthetician's manner. Shortly after I sat down, she started giving me a laundry list of what was "wrong" with my skin. She told me that I had sun damage, age spots (which she pointed out on my face by pressing on them) and "too much congestion" and therefore needed to add on a peel and other services. I was well aware of the spa menu before I made an appointment, and would have added a peel if I wanted to (I didn't, they irritate my sensitive skin), so to have a business model of insulting clients to try and guilt them into buying more is disgusting. It is not a "cheap" facial, its only about $40 less than a good spa, so I don't see a mediocre job as a big savings. I won't be returning.

Yelp
I have been going to Heyday for almost a year now and I really like it. I started off going to a different esthetician every time I went, but finally found Simon, who is now my go-to. Simon is so invested in my skincare routine and does only what he deems necessary. A few of the other estheticians I went to would try to up-sell me to the enhancements, which my skin really didn't need. I always get a 50 Minute Facial once a month and, at $99 a facial, it's one of the less expensive facials in Manhattan. I love the products Heyday uses and I love that you can buy most of them in their shop. The price tag on most of the products is steep, but really worth it. Some of my favorite products include Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque and the Naturopathica White Tea Antioxidant Mask. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the actual facilities. I'm not a fan of the curtains separating the rooms because they do not close fully and they allow every sound in to your facial room. Sometimes the lobby area gets really loud and all of it can be heard during your facial, which is not so relaxing. Overall, I'm a happy and repeat Heyday customer. Truly believe that every person leaving negative reviews just hasn't found the right esthetician for them.
