The drinks were really good, but the customer service was very disappointing. The staff member who took our order an Indian man was extremely rude and treated us with a noticeable lack of respect compared to how he interacted with other customers. It felt discriminatory, and the way he spoke to us was impatient and dismissive.
We asked for extra pearls in our matcha latte, and he responded with clear irritation, as if our request was unreasonable. We also weren’t aware it was a card-only store (there was no visible sign), and when we tried to pay with cash, he just pointed at the card machine without saying a word, which felt very unwelcoming.
While placing our order, there was a technical issue he needed to attend to which we completely understood. But instead of communicating politely, he waved us off twice without explanation. Even when we did get to order, he acted rushed and annoyed, despite us being clear and polite.
I’ve worked in customer service myself, and I know how stressful it can be but basic courtesy and respect should never be overlooked. A simple “sorry” or a more respectful tone would have made a big difference.
