"We’re not entirely sure whether we’re more into Hicce’s huge arched windows or their great bit-of-this, bit-of-that boards. Either way, this restaurant in King’s Cross looks sort of like an industrial, modern church designed by some deity of minimalism, and it’s perfect for anyone who can’t decide whether they’re in the mood for grilled skate or a whole beef rump with shiitake and bok choy. Thanks to their ‘Hicce experience’ menu, you can try a bit of everything, all rounded off with a creme caramel. Open from morning to night, it’ll work just as well for a lunchtime catch-up as a lowkey birthday dinner, you can access the restaurant via their lift." - heidi lauth beasley

"Opened by Pip Lacey and Gordon McIntyre, Hicce offers a relaxed atmosphere with signature hot sticks and a variety of dishes cooked over hot coals. The restaurant is incorporated into the Wolf & Badger store and has a planned summer terrace and outdoor barbeque." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

"Opening their own restaurant had been a long-held ambition for old friends Pip Lacey, ex-head chef of Murano, and her business partner Gordon McIntyre, and they considered many locations before deciding Coal Drops Yard was the perfect fit. The name, pronounced ee-chay, is Latin for "current" and "of the moment." It’s incorporated into the Wolf & Badger store—which resembles that of a New York City loft—and in the evening, when the music’s turned up, you feel like you’re a guest at a banging house party. Sip on a cocktail while you choose the dishes for your starter sharing board: something pickled, something cured; perhaps some rillettes and beer bread. Next, try some of their signature hot sticks—upmarket versions of kebabs, which come with an array of different tastes and textures and which, like many of their other dishes, are cooked over hot coals. There’s a relaxed and happy air at Hicce—something the bubbly service goes a long way towards creating—and which the planned summer terrace and outdoor barbecue can only add to." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

We had a wonderful night here catching up with friends. The quality of the service, food, bar and everything else was top notch. Lovely chat with the gm at the end too. We'll definitely be coming back!

Amazing culinary experience, not your conventional combination of ingredients and flavours but very well curated together! And why not on Wine Not! Get the wine pairing, no regrets! ps: save some space for the finale, the sticky toffee pudding, you’ll regret it if you are too full to finish it! It’s HEAVENLY!

Beautiful atmosphere and great food! We had dinner at the chef's counter and it was amazing, you see your yummy dishes in the making. Waitress very kind and lovely (I don't know the name but she has Moldovan origins if I'm not wrong). If in Coal drops yard, don't miss it!

Unbelievable food set in a beautiful modernised warehouse conversion. Light and airy, spaced out tables. Central bar and open kitchen. Sharing plates beautifully presented. All dietary requirements can be catered for. Good service. Tasting menu extraordinary. Bill was approx £75 a head without wine pairing, including soft drinks and service

Shame this place is closing. The set tasting menu was delicious and there was so much food that I had to ask for a doggy bag. The brussel sprouts and venison were standout and you can never go wrong ending the meal with a sticky toffee pudding.

I enjoyed myself. The end Food was GOOOOD! Like the idea of sharing the food as would have missed out on so much. Friendly staff and nice toilets :-) I like any place that provides hand cream after washing your hands. The open space and decor is simple and gives a general feel good vibes. Definitely somewhere I would return and recommend to others.

hicce is a true culinary gem that left a lasting impression on us. The restaurant boasts an impressive array of dishes, but it's their fish and seafood creations that truly stole the show. One dish that stood out above the rest was the cuttlefish. It was an absolute delight, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. The cocktail selection at hicce is equally impressive, and we were blown away by their outstanding concoctions. The Pictish Martini quickly became a personal favorite, showcasing the mixologist's skill in crafting unique and delicious drinks. A special mention goes to our waiter, Ruth. Her exceptional service and attention to detail truly enhanced our dining experience. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time.

Now that's my kind of roast... And those deep fried brussel sprouts 🤤 highly recommended by the staff. I like their sharing concept which meant I could try more dishes and even had room for dessert. Wheelchair access ✔️ Lovely little lift to take you to the dinning area along with accessible toilets.
