Google
A cool place for food and drinks. This place featured quite a variety local beers and some wines. It’s self serve and pay by the ounces, a new concept to me. The food was decent and in particular the gyro rice plate, again it’s something new to me (gyro meat served with rice). The plate came with fresh Greek salad with plenty of olives, a few pieces of sliced pita, hummus, rice and gyro meat. The fish tacos were pretty big; they tasted fine, but not great. We sat outside to enjoy San Diego’s warm afternoon. Service was friendly and pretty quick. All in all, I would recommend this place for beers and lunches.

Google
Loved this little gem tucked away at the America Plaza Station. My dining partner and I both had the Salmon Poke Bowls for lunch. There were many craft beers on tap to choose from and you pay-as-you-go for as little, or as much, as you wish. We had an engagement at 655 W Broadway so Hidden Craft was very close by.

Google
Surprised that Saturday at 6:30pm - the place was empty. Novelty is craft beer, cider and wine services by the ounce - you pour. Food was good - tried burger, tacos and soup. Sweet potato fries were best part. Note: outside patio had annoying fruit flies (perhaps because of beer/wine drip trays?)

Google
Nice little place to try out new beers! It’s great because you can try as much or as little as you’d like, you pay by the volume of beer you pour yourself. Food is pretty good as well! Poutine fries were amazing!

Carlos

Google
Incredible options of small handcrafted beers from all over. Pay what you pour and sample as many as you’d like. Huge televisions to watch the game and friendly, helpful staff to answer any questions you may have about the food menu and beer options.

Google
Hidden Craft SD was a great find! The food was flavorful and satisfying. I had the steak with fries, and it was cooked perfectly and topped with a delicious herb sauce. We also ordered the fish and chips, which were crispy and fresh. The side of sautéed green beans added a nice touch. Everything came out hot and well-seasoned. The casual yet trendy atmosphere made it a great spot to relax and enjoy good food. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting San Diego!

Google
One of the best places to go for lunch in the immediate vicinity. The food is delicious, the area is clean, the atmosphere is pleasant and yet gentle, and most importantly the staff helping you are very pleasant

My family and I stopped by for a meal before hopping back on the train home at Santa Fe station. We're so glad we did. We each had a different item. One thing that immediately stood out was the warm hospitality and service by the manager, who quickly sold me on the French Dip sandwich (Special). My wife had the Greek salad with chicken and commented it was among one of the best she's had, daughter had their burger and son had the flat bread (pizza). I will say the French dip sandwich was amazing, the beef seasoned and cooked to perfection to its variantion/take on the concept. The beef was like a variation of ropa vieja/machaca /shredded beef juicy and flavorful. A must try if it's available. My son, a frenchfry connoisseur, said the fries were top notch and his flatbread really good. We didn't get a chance to try the craft beers but it's definitely a place to hang out and catch up with friends. Hope to be back next time we're in SD

Yelp
Super cool craft beer pub with good food. Stopped in for lunch at Hidden Craft at the end of October. Food: The Smash Classic Burger was perfect. Perfectly cooked, and great flavor! Great side salad too. Beer: Fantastic selection of craft beer. I love the fact that the electronic pour system allows for small pours. The price per ounce is steep, but the variety and flexibility is fantastic. Ambiance: Unique, relaxed yet cool ambiance Staff: Friendly, helpful staff Value: Overall good value Bathroom cleanliness: average (and you have to ask for the key because of all the homeless people in San Diego)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped by Hidden Craft because it looked really good on Yelp, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The concept is so cool! I haven't seen anything like it in California before -- I've only seen spots like this in Arizona and Colorado. You get to pour your own beer, cider, or seltzer in whatever size you want, which means you can try as many flavors as you like. It's such a fun and interactive experience. Speaking of drinks, the pumpkin pie cider was unreal. Hands down the best seltzer/beer drink I've ever had in my entire life. Sweet, spiced, and so smooth -- I'm still thinking about it. We also ordered some food, and it did not disappoint. The barbecue burger was the star of the show. So juicy, flavorful, and just absolutely incredible. I could eat that burger every day. We also tried the flatbread, which was decent, but I probably wouldn't order it again. It was fine, but nothing compared to the burger. We ended up hanging out for a few hours because the vibe was so good. They have games you can play, and it just feels like a great spot to relax and enjoy good food, drinks, and company. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in San Diego. It's such a unique and fun experience!

Yelp
What a cool concept of pouring your own beer or wine to what size you want. You can try whatever you want and not feel obligated. Employees are super nice and took time to explain the concept and how to use the machines. Food: got the burger and sweet potato fries extra crispy. The sweet potato fries were fabulous... crispy exterior with soft interior. The burger was juicy and delicious. The bun was soft and toasted to the perfect texture. The pickles on the burger were crunchy and had best pickles I ever had!

Yelp
Hidden Craft is a hidden GEM! Let me tell you their vibes, their food, their service all incredible. We were shook by how good their food is and continued eating until we were in pain (their fries are some of the best I've ever had!! Both types!). They also have such a cool beer system where you can try out all their beers and pay by the ounces you pour, it was almost like a self serve yogurt shop but for beer. So unique, so cool and definitely makes me want to go back. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, half a star off only for the location bc it's directly next to the trolley station, but that shouldn't hold you back from trying it.

Yelp
This is a very nice, modern, hip and trendy spot that I was lucky enough to stumble across. It is located behind the city's train hub and there is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. They have a modest inside dining area with a bunch of craft beer on self serve taps in the back of the dining area. The patio is enclosed, so that you don't have people walking by watching you eat. It is an awesome area and has some nice tables and chairs. There are also some propane heaters for those chilly days. You will also find a lounge area out there with some really comfortable chairs and a television. In addition to their extensive beer selection, they serve typical American pub fare including soups, salads, burgers, BLTs, bowls, flatbreads, tacos, steak, fish and chips and a small dessert selection. They do not have table service. You place your order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. The staff there was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They really enhanced my experience there. I ordered the fish and chips. I sat out on the patio. My food was brought to me in about 10 minutes. It was fresh hot and delicious. The fish was well cooked, tender, and flavorful. The tartar sauce that came with it tasted homemade and was really good. It did have a little kick to it though. In addition to the fries, my meal also came with some delicious steamed green beans. Mmmmmmm. There was a ton of food. I was definitely full after I was done. I really enjoyed my lunch here. They have some very delicious food, first class service and staff, and a hip and smooth vibe. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
First time trying this place and we loved it, for sure going back. Friendly service and cozy place! Patio looked great! Variety of beers! Food was also really good! Recommend it!

Yelp
This hidden little place is a great find. I work right down the street and had no idea it was here(across the street from 7-11). I went in by myself for lunch and had the French dip. Everyone was very nice and the food was ready quickly. The sandwich was delicious, and the fries were crispy with just the right amount of salt. The menu is extensive and I will certainly be back to try additional items. If you are in the neighborhood and looking for lunch I recommend stopping in.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for classic American food and some good sushi thrown in there, along with a wide selection of beer, this is your spot in San Diego. Ordering is at the front and the cashier was amazing, super friendly, nice and patient with my family. His recommendations were spot on. We had the smash burger, the brisket sandwich, double crunch roll as an appetizer and the daily special- steak frites, Everything came to the table fresh. French fries were hot (the smithing crunchy kind) and the meat was cooked perfectly. The beer selection is expansive as well. The Hefe was delicious. The environment is relatively family friendly and I was surprised that for a Saturday night, it was not that busy. There is an inside seating area low seats and high seating, somewhat stark and minimal. Outside is nice with space heaters and a big TV screen. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I was looking for some fresh and healthy food for lunch, which led me to Hidden Craft. Despite what seems like a peculiar location, I was pleasantly surprised and felt welcomed immediately upon entering. The place felt bright and hip. I was greeted by a very friendly and professional employee who introduced herself, took my order, and showed me how the pour-it-yourself system works. Lots of great options for beer and more like wine, hard kombucha, etc. I ended with the Cesar salad w/ grilled chicken and a small pour of unfiltered Pilsner. It was all very delicious. If I have time I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
The food here is always so delicious. My favorite thing here is to get the fries extra crispy with a large side of gravy. Because the gravy is so amazing. It's meaty and it has all the right spices and seasonings and it tastes amazing on the fries. And I don't like steak but I do like to get the steak frites here. The steak is tender and it's seasoned well. I never have pieces stuck in my teeth because it's too dry or anything like that. The people who work here are always so nice and they are always accommodating and willing to help you out. I love sitting inside. I love sitting outside. They have little things for the tables. Sometimes you have to ask for it to keep the flies away and sometimes they have live music. This is where we go when we just want a comfortable, affordable, a good meal.

Yelp
As a local craft beer lover, I'm a huge fan of the concept of this spot. I think it's great that they offer beers from all over SD and you can pour as little or as much as you want. I found a few new faves while I've been here. The food has been consistently delicious and goes really well with their beers. My favorites have been the chopped salad and the smokey mac and cheese! Service has always been kind and helpful too.

Yelp
All craft beer lovers, you've got to check out Hidden Craft! Just be mindful of how much you pour since you're in the drivers seat - it'll be tempting to keep the tap flowing! - PARKING - There are a few metered spots along the adjacent street, but also note that there is a trolley stop right at the entrance of Hidden Craft! Great for those that don't want to deal with circling around for parking, and also safe travels back home after a few drinks! - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - Great spot for Happy Hour, game days, and just for catching up with friends! There's outdoor seating where several dogs were roaming around, and inside has a decent amount of seating as well. It's not the biggest taproom, but I do like the tall ceilings and openness. The taps are lined up along one side of the taproom, and once you check in at the front, they'll give you a card that will keep track of how much beer you pour. After each pour, the screen will show you how much is added to your card bill. You then bring back your card to pay at the front once you're all done! - FOOD/DRINK - Great selection of beers, from all beloved breweries in San Diego. There were a few beers from breweries that I hadn't tried yet, so I was excited to have those! They also have Happy Hour deals on select taps, which are shown by yellow taps. There's tons of delicious bites to have and to share, and we got the following: - Smoked Mac n Cheese - Braised Brisket Poutine - Fish n Chips - Fig Flatbread - Craft Taco Trio All were delicious, but my favorite was the Smoked Mac n Cheese! - OVERALL - Great vibes, great beers, and great food! Would highly recommend for happy hour, or just for those that want a variety of beers to try!

Yelp
Came here for lunch and the food and service was great. Have gotten a Cobb salad there and it was great but definitely a little over priced. I also got the salmon poke bowl and that was delicious. Portion is a little small though but the flavor is all there. Love their outside patio seating area, it is well decorated.

Yelp
@hiddencraft_sd has amazing tacos and over 30 options of local San Diego beer! We tried: * smash burger * salmon poke bowl * fish tacos * Mac and cheese It's right by the trolley very convenient and the food was good. A great place to watch the game

Kathryn L.

Yelp
Excellent burger and fries! Clean and neat. Friendly staff! Wishing it was open Sunday!

Yelp
Cool tap house with a good selection of local beers. I like the ability to just try out different varieties with the touch of a card. The food: First and importantly, best sweet potato fries that I have ever had. And pro tip, ask for some smash sauce to dip them into - delicious. The brisket sandwich tastes like corn beef so if you like that then you will like the sandwich. I saw a lot of people enjoying the tacos. Next time, I will give them a try. But even if I just get sweet potato fries and few beers, then I would be happy. Service is friendly and helpful. I will be back
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
Great service, delicious offerings and a decent drink selection. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I came in here for a quick bite before catching my Amtrak train across the street. The girl working the counter was so friendly and helpful as I tried to figure out what I wanted to eat. I really wanted tacos and she steered me towards the fish tacos and said they were enough on their own because I was also considering a soup on the side. She also showed me where the water was because she saw my giant water bottle. Just very attentive. I wish I had caught her name. But thank you!! Food came out pretty quickly, maybe 15 minutes or so. The fish were beer battered and deeeelicious. And those tacos were piled on high. It was actually kind of hard to grab them because they were so overstuffed. But because of that, 2 tacos was definitely enough. They were very filling. Also had some chips, salsa, and radishes on the side with lime for squeezing on top. I would've liked some more chips, but honestly I was so stuffed it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely come back to try the other food options and the various beer pours. Despite its location near transit, it was relatively chill. But service and food were great!
google avatar

Carmen S.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in the trolley stop. They have a good tasting selection of beer and wine on tap. You can pour as little or as much as the glass holds and charged by the ounce. They source local beers and wines. They also serve food from salads to mussels to burgers. They have an outdoor area and inside games. Lots of fun!
google avatar

Harinder K.

Yelp
Wonderful spot for lunch when in downtown. Menu has vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and omnivore options. This time it was the San Diego fish tacos - delicious! Friendly staff - order at the counter and then find a seat inside or on the patio.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem AND they have happy hour Monday-Saturday. Super rare but in this economy, it's greatly appreciated. I like the swipe and pay/fill your cup as you please. They have so many options on tap to choose from. Get the fish tacos for sure!!!

Yelp
Was looking for a relaxed place to eat before heading to a concert at Petco Park. Hidden Craft was just the place! Had the Bacon & Brie Burger with a small salad as my side. It was delicious! The burger was juicy and had grilled onions with melty brie cheese.. yum! The side of salad had crispy fresh mixed greens, tomatoes and chopped beets with a vinagrette. It wasn't over dressed either. They had a huge assortment of craft beer options and I chose a sour. Sooo good. The service was friendly had great recommendations. Wish we had a Hidden Craft in near our home.

Yelp
It's our favorite brewery in downtown SD! Great beer, food, and vibes. I'm a frequent flyer there and everyone is always kind and makes it feel very welcoming. My favorite food is the fig jam flatbread! Great hidden gem :)

Yelp
TUCKED AWAY Hidden craft is a few blocks from the ocean. Parking garage and some street parking available. They have indoor and outdoor seating for just singles, pairs, and groups. Fastest service in the west and friendly too. THE GRUB Smash Classic Cheeseburger was divine: - Lightly toasted brioche bun, soft, and satisfying. - Moist and seasoned patties. - Fresh lettuce and sweet tomatoes. - Choice cheese - Restaurant level secret sauce that pulls everything together. TERMINATOR RATING: I'LL BE BACK

Yelp
This restaurant keeps getting better and better. The food is outstanding, great quality and taste. Great selection of dishes, there's something for everyone. Burgers, salads, poke, hot dogs, entrees, sushi, etc. Good variety of self-serve beers. Excellent service, good prices, nice atmosphere, good music, etc. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a fun find very close to the train depot! The smoked Mac and cheese with bacon was yummy! Tasted some beers via their unique serving method. Got a card and dispensed our own beers, ciders, and wine. A fun night experience.
google avatar

Jason Y.

Yelp
Hidden is the key word. We went into building in the front, "no sir you can't come in this way". Had a great salad and the wife had a pumpkin gnocchi special. The beer was self serve with a card. As much or as little as you want to taste. Super friendly staff. Since the special was brand new they asked about the taste and explained they're trying things new. It's a super convenient place to most things downtown. About a 15 min walk to gaslamp. Maybe 10 to the waterfront. Adjacent to the local train station.

Yelp
Hidden Craft is a fantastic local brewery that exclusively serves local beers on tap. Their selection of ales, IPAs, sours, and even hard kombucha is impressive. Whether you prefer indoor or outdoor seating, they've got you covered. Plus, they got good, which is a bonus! Some things on the menu are sandwiches, burgers, and salads. I couldn't resist trying the American burger with sweet potato fries, and it exceeded my expectations! The sweet potato fries were the highlight, and I'd return just for those. Hidden Craft is a must-visit local gem, and I highly recommend it. P.s. service is good here!

Yelp
Fun concept, great beer selection. Food is very good too. One of my favorite spots for happy hour when visiting San Diego.

Yelp
Hidden Craft was an absolute treat! We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in, which really enhanced the experience. You order at the main counter and the food will be delivered to you. There is a simplicity to this dining style that is appreciated. The kitchen was speedy and accommodating without compromising on quality. I ordered the Salmon Niçoise salad and my boyfriend ordered the Brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. 10/10!
google avatar

larry m.

Yelp
The Braised Brisket Sandwich was very tasty and cooked perfectly on a nice toasted bun. The fries were piping hot and seasoned well. It is more filling than it looks! Order at counter and they bring it to the table, then they clean up when you are done. Beer wall with many varieties. Friendly staff. Very casual.
google avatar

Mike Z.

Yelp
Cool place with good food and self serve draft beer. When ordering at the counter be sure to ask for a beer card. Then you pay by the ounce so try a little taste or try a pint of your favorite craft beer.
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
Very interesting concept. Fun atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. Never experienced a "help yourself buffet beer tap line". She did a great job explaining it and dome fantastic beers on tap. Ordered some food which was great as well.
google avatar

Tigran H.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! The tacos were delicious, and they have a huge variety of beers. I loved that you can pour your own, so it's easy to sample a bit of everything. Great spot to relax and enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Great welcoming customer service and didn't know this place existed after walking near this place so many times dropping people off at the Amtrak station. Menu was simple to navigate and food was prepared freshly and was delicious. My favorite was the smoke brisket sandwich and the pozole. Can't discount the smoked Gouda mac n cheese though. Can't wait to come back and try more foods.

Yelp
This spot never disappoints . Every dish on the menu is fabulous. You will definitely will be dreaming about the food . Not only is the food great the service is too. This spot has lots of great beers to choose from . You can also bring your fur baby to enjoy your meal since they have an outside patio.

Yelp
I'm absolutely enthusiastic about Hidden Craft! This somewhat hidden gem, located in the One America Plaza building across from the train station, offers an incredible experience. The friendly staff, high-quality food, and amazing selection of drinks make it a standout spot. Plus reasonable prices . Hidden Craft provides a diverse array of beers, hard ciders, and kombuchas on tap. For those who aren't into drinking, they also offer a great selection of sodas and mock tails. The variety ensures there's something for everyone to enjoy. The name might give some a chuckle, but the hidden nature of this place adds to its charm. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out Hidden Craft for a delightful and unique experience. The ambiance of this place is chill . Good spot for post work or calm time with friends or family . Shout to Mac for always holding down the fort and helping to run the show. After a couple of visits you will begin to feel like family to the staff. I feel like not a lot of places here are like that . I enjoy the sense of community at Hidden Craft. I know there are so many places to choose from , but Make sure to give place a try. Enjoy!

Yelp
The Only Review You Need To Read We were staying at a nearby hotel and were looking for a non-chain place to eat. No disrespect to a certain factory that specializes in cheesecakes - I love me some CCF, but we wanted to try some local fare. I did a little search of restaurants near our hotel and we decided to take a chance on this place. And we were pleased with our choice. It's not a formal fru-fru restaurant, but more of a casual sit down restaurant with two seating sections - both with big screen TVs. We ordered a delicious chopped Cobb salad with a side of the crispy Brussels sprouts. The salad was pretty generous, so much so that it could be shared among two people. My girlfriend thought the sprouts were really good (I trust her word - I don't do Brussels sprouts). Our server was very friendly and attentive with everything we needed (I tipped him well). I would like to go back and try their smashed cheeseburger, so the next time we're in town, I would definitely return to Hidden Craft.

Yelp
We came here for early dinner Saturday night. Plenty of seating inside and some outside with heaters. They have highchairs, big tv, and small play area in front of the tv with games for kids. You order food from the cashier and self serve beer. We ordered mac and cheese plus chicken, burger and fries, and teriyaki rice bowl with salmon. Overall great food. The teriyaki bowl had veggies which tasted really good surprisingly. To go boxes helped to take food back to the hotel. Live music started at 6pm on Saturday night outside. The area at night is kind of isolated and you can see the homeless hanging out on one side of the restaurant. Great place for casual dinner, self serve beer, kid friendly.

Yelp
Came during a lunch rush with a colleague and we were able to find a booth seat while we awaited our food. I got a flatbread with prosciutto, goat cheese, and jam. It was great! I would order again. My colleague got the Mac and cheese and was surprised bc it's not your traditional macaroni but the seashell pasta and the cheese was more cream colored than yellow, the name of the cheese escapes me but she liked it as well. By the time we finished the place was empty. But I def wanna go back for Saturday brunch.

Yelp
Very interesting dinner with the best fish tacos yet and serve yourself beer taps. 20+ local beers to try.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now, never had a bad experience. Employees are super friendly and helpful. I recently came here with co workers, one of whom brought her small child, and an employee came over and brought him a cookie. The food is good, the lunch specials are a great deal, and the selection is always varied. While inside, you wouldn't even know you were right next to the train stop.

Yelp
Chicken cooked perfectly, for it being fried it was very light, veggies were fresh. Staff nice Clean Def recommend, will come back
