Hide-Chan Ramen Review - Midtown East - New York - The Infatuation

"Run by the same folks that brought Totto Ramen to Midtown, Hide-Chan is a great spot for a bowl of ramen. Totto is dedicated to a mastery over the less common chicken-based ramen broth, whereas Hide-Chan specializes in tonkotsu broth, which means “very excellent pork bone fat water” in Japanese. You walk up a flight of stairs into a room that’s a little sterile and a little serious, but pleasant nonetheless. Not quite like Totto Ramen’s open kitchen and East Village vibe. Either way, we like them both, and there are a few unique things about Hide-Chan that earned our favor. We love the garlicky Kuro Ramen and the Mega Ton is just sort of hilarious to order. We also like the fact that you can specify how firm you would like your noodles cooked. You can even tell them how fatty you would like your ramen broth, from rich to light. Choose wisely. Food Rundown Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen The house standard ramen, and probably the universal favorite. This is rich, salty, and porky...just like ramen should be. Mega Ton First of all, probably the best name for a bowl of soup ever. Second of all, it fits. This is a bowl of ramen stuffed full of extra vegetables and thick cut pork, to the point where you might need another bowl and a working knowledge of fluid displacement theory to manage it. Hakata Spicy Ramen The tonkotsu ramen, but with spicy sauce. You can tell them how spicy you would like it. Hakata Kuro Ramen As long as you can handle diving into a bowl that looks like a squid got wringed out into it, then order this. The black inky sauce in the bowl is actually an oil made from roasted garlic, and it's awesome. The garlic flavor isn’t as abrasive as you might expect after seeing an oil slick made from the stuff - this is a nicely balanced and tasty bowl of noodles Pork Buns We’ve never met a pork bun we don’t like, and that remains true after eating this. But these are not the best buns you will ever eat. All of the key elements are here, (pork, bun, mayo, lettuce) but these are small and the pork is a little thin for this application." - Chris Stang

The staff were so friendly as soon as we arrived and attentive throughout our meal. The food was wonderful! The fried shrimp shumai was the best I've ever had!! Clean restaurant and a warm atmosphere. Perfect break from a long day. Look forward to coming back.

Google
I had an excellent lunch at Hide-Chan Ramen, where I enjoyed the Tan Tan Men. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The Tan Tan Men itself was a flavor-packed delight, with perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, savory broth. The balance of spices was spot on, offering just the right amount of heat. It's clear that Hide-Chan Ramen puts a lot of care and expertise into their dishes. I highly recommend it for anyone craving an authentic and delicious ramen experience.

Service deserves a 7 star. Our waiter was extremely kind. Food is delicious and prices are extremely reasonable. Beef is very flavorful and food is the perfect amount. Lots of amazing additions such as napkins, bathrooms, and lots of seating. Additionally, service is surprisingly quick. Perfect place to eat on a vacation!

Google
We enjoyed some outstanding ramen after a show at Broadway Comedy. Came in around 8pm and even though it was busy, we didn’t wait for a seat. We had the Deluxe and Spicy Garlic and were both happy with our picks! Fast and friendly service.

Great place! It was a random pick, and I'm glad we came here. Nice music, friendly staff and good food. Now it's in my list of Fave places to eat.

I can't rave enough about the delightful experience. The food was not only delicious but exceeded my expectations in every way. What pleasantly surprised me even more were the reasonable prices. The quality of the food and the level of service far exceeded what one might expect for such affordable prices. It's a rare gem where you can enjoy both a delightful culinary experience and friendly service without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a wonderful dining experience.

Google
TLDR: I love this place! It's my favorite ramen shop and I've had A LOT of ramen in my life! (Ivan Ramen really went down hill for me) The staff here are always so sweet and patient. I always get their spicy garlic ramen with the wavy/chewy noodles. This time I got the spicy garlic oil on the side so I can control how spicy it is. They have a shirataki noodle option too. I've had their pork and chicken buns on previous visits and they're so good! You can't go wrong here! Pro tip: Sometimes you can get a deal here on Groupon. Love the cute decor. It feels like I'm in Japan. There are 2 single stall unisex bathrooms that are fairly clean. They also have another location in midtown east. The only improvement is better happy hour deals (I think it's 20% items that are not ramen/entrees). They have a ramen challenge if you finish a GIANT bowl that's 5 servings including the broth it's free or you pay $48!

Google
This is definitely a ramen spot. I don’t recommend ordering anything else. We got the salmon roll and the poke bowl. The fish is not the freshest. The salmon roll was quite honestly pretty bad. I’ve had Chinese buffet sushi that tasted better than the sushi rolls they serve here. I had pretty high expectations with the “Michelin star” advertising. The ramen here was just ok, nothing to write home about and probably wouldn’t come back here, especially if I had to pay full price…

Yelp
I've been to their other location on E 52nd St back in 2022 when I was in town for the NYC Marathon. Since I was on the west side, I decided to come check this place out for a late lunch. After looking over their menu, I ordered edamame and hiyashi chuka, cold sesame noodle pork. It was a very hot and humid summer day outside, so it was nice to eat a bowl of cold ramen. The service was nice and friendly.

Yelp
Go-to Theater district Ramen spot with my favorite Kai-dama Location: Near 53rd and 8th Avenue, this ramen restaurant has a lot more than ramen with a variety of donburi, small plates, beer, and cocktails. They have a pretty narrow seating space for four to two person tables. The decor has a lot of classic Japanese images, the One Piece Manga mural, masks, and creative cat samurai art abounds. Food: I have enjoyed everything that I have order at Hidechan. The fried chicken, karage, is a good solid order. The takoyaki are decent. The handroll salmon and ikura are good for one person to have classic item. We have tried the kimichi fried rice and the pork fried tic as good side items. They also have good donburis. I have not mentioned the ramen whch is of course great. I had the spicy garlic and previously enjoyed the deluxe. ***Here is the ramen hack to end all hacks. In Fukuoka Ramen places, they allow you to get Kai-dama which literally translates as one time. It only is $2 as of February 2024 so it is a way to maximize your enjoyment and get completely full with another noodle order which you can put on top after you finish the first round. You must keep enough broth to make the new ramen soak in the umami flavors. Enjoy this hack but remember waste not and what not. Service: They provide high level of service but they also do not bother you and let you enjoy the ramen dining experience which I always appreciate. Overall: Japanese food is ubiquitous in NYC but quality food and service is not always present so I highly recommend this spot and look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
I came by with the $45 pulsd deal for 2 (2 ramen or donburi, 2 desserts, and 2 drinks). We had a reservation, but there were a few tables available for dinner on a Tuesday, so I would imagine that walk-ins are pretty doable. The spicy garlic ramen was tasty, although I have had better ramen in the city. The broth was creamy, and heavy on the garlic but not very spicy. I couldn't really taste any other flavor other than the garlic oil. The noodles had a great texture. For drink options, they have beer/wine/sake. Service was quick and attentive.

Yelp
The key to a 5 star rating is being consistent across all categories on every visit, and Hide-Chan Ramen really should have 10 stars! First of all, the service! I cannot get over how kind and efficient they are. We have been here for lunch several times, and every time we have had the best staff and the quickest (not to be confused with rushed) service, which is perfect when you have to get back to work. The restaurant is decorated with fun and beautiful cultural items and is a pretty decent size so there is ample seating. Second, the food is always, always good! I love when restaurants are consistent with the quality and presentation of their food, and Hide-Chan delivers every time. Our favorites are the purple sweet potato tempura, vegetable ramen, and the avocado roll. Definitely a lunch go-to for us a couple of times a month! Will have to try it for dinner sometime so we can order more items from the menu.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this place was very welcoming and cozy upon walking in. Me and my guest had a $100 Groupon deal and asked the waiters about it and they were very friendly and let us choose where we wanted to sit. We ordered yuzu fresh and kyoho grape soda which came pretty fast. They tasted good and quenched our thirst. The appetizers- the spicy Essen sausage and takoyaki came out pretty soon as well and they were both very delicious. The only sad thing is how fast they were eaten because it was so delicious! We also got the spicy salmon roll which had raw salmon. It tasted like a typical roll but was also yummy. You would think that I'd start to get full at this point, but then the Spicy Deluxe Ramen came out and I just had to go for it. It was a little spicier than I expected so next time I should order the non-spicy, but it was still super yummy. We also ordered dessert- the Earl grey mousse and Mille crepe cake. The mousse was good if you're not looking for something too sweet. The cake was excellent and each layer melted into the next. I would definitely get the crepe cake again! The total for all this food came out to about $104, so we paid the $4 plus tips and tax and the total was still only about $26 which was definitely worth it for all the food. (The Groupon ticket was not too expensive either). Regardless if I had the coupon or not I would definitely love to come back to this place and eat here again. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great and comfortable, and the waiters were kind and helpful.

Yelp
Met up with an old friend, who lives in Hell's Kitchen and suggested this place. I ordered the spicy garlic as per the raving Yelp reviews, and it definitely delivered! It was so tasty. I also tried some of my friend's sake mojito and it was refreshingly delicious. Docking off a star because I feel that the portions were small for the price. Very attentive service and great vibes overall!

Yelp
We dropped by Hide-chan craving some warm ramen for dinner. Thankfully there was not a long wait on the weekday night. The Lychee mint soda was refreshing. Their spicy garlic ramen was a little more oily than I would have liked. Their Deluxe ramen was much better and was the ramen fix my buddy needed that night. Service was great as well. A great place for a comfortable ramen fix! They have some great decor - and an interesting giant ramen challenge
google avatar

Anjolika B.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a rainy day to warm up with a bowl of ramen. The spicy garlic ramen was great, but just a smidge too heavy on the black garlic oil. For appetizers we had the Gyoza and the Agedashi tofu. It was all good, but the agedashi tofu was some of the best I've ever had and I'll definitely come back to have it again!

Yelp
Good late night ramen spot that transports you to Japan. Opted for the Og deluxe which came generous with classic toppings + that runny onsen egg. Pretty good bowl of ramen and the noods were chewy and springy. Not the absolute best bowl of my life, but a pretty darn good one compared to a lot of other places. Classic.

Yelp
Delicious ! Very authentic, had a great time. Food arrived in about 10-12 minutes and was fabtastic. Good prices too. Got Keto Shrimp Ramen, Cali sushi roll and fried chicken for 50$ including tip :) Thanks

Yelp
Even though this ramen place is not as famous as some of the others in NYC, I really like it for its great taste and cozy setting. The spicy deluxe ramen was very rich in flavor, not too oily, and I loved the good amount of pork slices and bamboo shoots. The miso eggplant was a very delicious especially paired up with the ramen. They have giant ramen challenge. It's $48 or free. The bowl is really big (maybe 3-4 times the normal portion). But for anyone who is a ramen lover and big eater, you should come and try!

Yelp
I hadn't been back to this location since I moved here over a decade ago, and kind of mad that I'd forgot about it! Just liquid gold in a bowl. I had the regular pork tonkatsu and appreciated the actual serving of extra garlic (so many places short you on this!) my order was ready within 5 minutes of ordering on the walk over, super friendly workers in the front. I'll have to revisit their east side location but really I think the tonkatsu is better here.

Yelp
A must-go if you want a Ramen experience near Central Park. I've been here twice and both times the flavor was superb. They even have a challenge if you are up for it too!
google avatar

JT T.

Yelp
Came here on a pulsd deal and was pretty excited to check out this place based on the reviews. I would say overall it was decent but nothing to rave about. The ramen itself was lacking depth and most of the flavor came from the pork. Broth itself was alright. Wanted to love this place since the venue itself is pretty cool, but not sure this will be on my rotation of ramen joints to hit up in the city

Yelp
Hide-Chan UWS @ 53rd St. I am a big fan of Japanese ramen, but my other half is not ^^ Not at all. He finds the thick pork broth unpleasant ..... which is why we went for Spicy Deluxe & Spicy Garlic ramen. However, they are not that spicy at all ... just pleasantly Spicy, nothing majorly Spicy like certain Korean food. As for ramen, paying $16/$19 may be pricy ... I agree .... but, Hide-Chan does make their ramen unique with their porky broth and special Spicy Garlic ramen. It does not give too garlicky smell nor the taste, but there is the slight aftertaste of bitterness from Garlic. But, not too overwhelming, and it's actually what makes the broth tasty. The fried chicken ($8.50) (6 pieces) was nothing too special. Sake Mojito ($10) (Lychee) was fruity and not too strong ... Don't expect anything like Manhattan style cocktail though. Great place for Japanese ramen for a chilly evening out in the city !!!
google avatar

Tyler T.

Yelp
The ramen overall wasn't all that great. We had the shrimp tan tan men and the spicy deluxe special. The tan tan was actually the better tasting one but overall quite light and less flavorful than what I've had at other places in the city. The deluxe special tasted a bit one dimensional and the pork was a bit dry at parts. Overall a pass given all the other choices in the city.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by my boss and I was very disappointed especially since Ippudo and Totto is just a block away. To start, we ordered the fried shishito peppers which were incredibly oily and not crispy at all. My friend ordered the spicy deluxe which was the top seller and I ordered the spicy garlic which was their best seller. Both were incredibly mediocre. I will not go back and recommend Ippudo instead.

Yelp
Good ramen spot located near the theater district. It was not crowded when I came on a Wednesday at 6:30. I was seated quickly and the server brought out water and menus. The back area is where all the tables are but there was a section near the front with bar style seating and less crowded and noisy. I got the spicy miso ramen. We get a choice of wavy and straight noodles. I would say that the price is pretty good for all the stuff you get inside your bowl of ramen, which in my opinion also came in a generously sized portion. The food itself was comforting and perfect for a cold day. The environment was dim, and cozy. Would return again to get my noodle fix before a show.

Yelp
I happened to be by Columbus Circle and was craving ramen on a cold winter day so I searched online and found this place. So glad I stopped by! I was presented with a lunch menu and ordered the classic ramen + fried chicken as appetizer. Everything was delicious, and the thick, creamy broth really hit the spot. I felt sooooo rejuvenated after this bowl. The lunch set was $16+tax+tip. The service was great as well. I would definitely come back if I were in the area!!
google avatar

Olga I.

Yelp
Delicious ramen for an unbeatable price, given the location of the shop. We got our food pretty fast after ordering and the portion was huge - I definitely had enough for two meals here. Would highly recommend getting it spicy, especially on a cold winter day to warm up your insides. I will definitely be back on my next trip to NYC.
google avatar

Vishnu G.

Yelp
I ordered the vegetarian ramen here, and it wasn't terribly impressive. The flavors were generally pretty subtle, almost bland, which isn't really to my taste. There was plenty of seating and it wasn't too busy when we came in on a weeknight.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Came back for a second visit with a friend, this time ordered the takoyaki and the spicy garlic ramen. Both did not disappoint. Personal preference, I'll probably stick to the Classic ramen next time. The garlic one was kind of smoky, which was great but quickly felt stale to my palate after the first few bites.
google avatar

Yelp
Hide-Chan on W 53rd is a totally acceptable ramen shop that promotes heavily with specials, deals, coupons, and their very own app. They're trying hard to connect with customers and the menu's diversity aims to satisfy a wide range of appetites and desires. Today I had a classic ramen lunch special with a side of katsu curry (+$2). The katsu, three pre-sliced segments, was okay, perhaps not super fresh. The curry had the right flavors but lacked volume and density; mostly just diced onions remained once the curry liquid drained into the rice. I prefer a thicker consistency, but for a side dish, this was just fine. The classic ramen was standard fare. I opted for wavy noodles which were served firm and springy in a savory broth with mushrooms, green onions, and two slices of pork. This ramen is plain but wholesome, nothing particularly daring, though nothing to complain about either. Each of the components was adequate and I was content eating my fill. Note that there is a 3.5% card fee, so paying in cash is recommended. Check their website or window flyers for more information on ways to save money with your order.

Yelp
I've never tried Hide-Chan before so when I saw a Pulsd deal for $29 for two ramens and a carafe of sake, we decided to check it out. It was also valid for takeout, so that was great. For the deal, you could pick a ramen or donburi up to $17. If the price is greater, you just pay the difference. You can pick between wavy or straight noodles. I picked straight and liked them better than the wavy ones my husband got. I ordered the Shrimp TanTanMen. The description mentioned a 'giant head on shrimp' but it's really just a regular head on shrimp. It definitely was not worth the few extra bucks I paid. The noodles also didn't do great in a 40-minute transport. They were all clumped together and it was hard to loosen up even after we poured the reheated broth over it. Hubby got the Spicy Miso and I like that broth better than the one I had. We also ordered the Ebi Fry, which was bland and tasted like were from the freezer aisle of a Costco. I'm sure the ramen tastes much better dining in, so I would suggest that if you do want to check this place out. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice little place to have a good bowl of ramen. Ramen is as good as it advertised. Broth is rich and solid. Tofu salad is fresh and tasty. You can enjoy a good time of conversation with friends.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Came here with friends. Bonito and classic ramen are lunch specials, serve with 1 side dish. Noodles were wavy and tasty. The soup is not too salty or sweet. Texture was just right. Could ask for the noodles to be firm. The fried squid and gyoza were good. Not too hard. Pork bun is a great side dish for ramen. Taste like authentic Japanese style. Recommend come here again.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Ugh I love this place. And I don't just throw that word around, either: I am currently pregnant and have COVID during a holiday weekend, and really starting to feel like I was dying, and the Tantanmen with added bean sprouts and a little side of garlic oil made me experience -- get this -- JOY. The EXACT emotion I thought I would never feel again, as I've been suffering with the truly special kind of Hell that is pregnancy COVID. This place SLAPS. I've been ordering from here for years and everything is always fresh and hot... I found happiness in my hopelessness and that happiness was Hide Chan Ramen
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Finally tried something new! Had the kogashi ramen and it was refreshing and pretty veg forward for me. Although I couldn't resist the black garlic oil as an add on. The gyoza were nice and crispy, however I found myself putting a little bit of the sauce leftover from the gyoza into the ramen itself in the middle of the meal. I was just in the mood for a little acid in the bowl that day.
google avatar

Amanda K.

Yelp
Delicious food! I just wish there were more non-pork or beef options as we don't eat them. I had the fried chicken donburi rice bowl and it was perfection! I'd eat it every day if I could. My husband got a ramen dish without the pork broth or pork oil, and with shirataki noodles. They were willing to accommodate the substitutions and everything was delicious. Thank you! A+!

Vincent R.

Yelp
Had the deluxe, but also tried the spicy deluxe and garlic miso. Food was very okay, probably like a 6/10 across the board, .There is a better spot for ramen ippudo relatively nearby. Service was good though, ambiance is standard to hide chan stores, was nifty.
google avatar

Hsin-Yi W.

Yelp
My husband is a super fan of ramen and we were so excited to have Hide Chan Ramen which was a famous brand of HAKATA RAMEN in Japan. Hide Chan Ramen serves Tonkatsu (豚骨, "pork bone") ramen, which is a thick broth made from boiling pork bones, fat, and collagen over high heat for hours. The broth was delicious and creamy with a hearty pork flavor. However, the price was kind of high with its portion and the ingredients weren't a lot, so we did not feel satisfied at all after 2 bowls of Raman.
google avatar

Dylan L.

Yelp
I just want to say, your friendly service and delicious food made my short 4 day vacation and 30-40 minute walks 1000x better. The staff was very welcoming both times I went. I wish I would've asked their names so I could shout them out here. And of course the food was delicious, and compared to where I'm from very cheap. I will definitely come back on my next trip in a couple months. I hope to see them all again! -Guy with the funny credit card cover.

Yelp
recently got the app seated so I could get some money back from ordering food. there aren't too many places listed on there, but this was one of them! I did want something soupy so ramen was a great choice. I ordered the tantanmen ramen and spicy cucumber (huge fan of saucy cucumbers). the ramen was really tasty- noodles and broth delicious. I didn't really like all the shredded green onions so I took them out. the egg was also not completely soft boiled (see picture), but it wasn't a huge deal for me. the spicy cucumbers were refreshing, but nothing too outstanding. I would definitely get the ramen again (but ask for no green onions), but not the cucumbers.

Yelp
This review is for their deliver on DoorDash, during Covid period. It's not a surprise that during Covid, eating takeout from a place is seldom the same quality of food as eating in store. I've seen this with almost all restaurants I ordered from and that's ok. I haven't been to this location of Hide-Chan, only the Midtown East one, so benchmarking against eating at that location: - I had Red Dragon which was less greasy and salty than tonkotsu based ramen I've had in store. But it was also bland and uninteresting, a far cry from the photo I see on Yelp and on Doordash. - gyoza was same quality as before, pretty good - salmon flakes and ikura over rice seemed like a sad deli version of what I was expecting. I don't know if it's just not suitable for delivery? But I think we could have cooked up a better version of it ourselves at home. - vegetable ramen looked very good but I'm told the broth was disappointing. Maybe the restaurant can streamline their menu a bit during this period and remove items that aren't that great? Because frankly given the price and quality, a hard sell for us to order from here again - especially when so many other high quality restaurants in the city are opening the door to delivery.

Yelp
$10 rice and pork bowl, great lunch portion and pricing, flavorful and tasty :) I like it

Yelp
Outdoor seating was nice and comfortable. They have little outdoor booths that comfortably fits only your party with collapsible doors that could probably be opened to fit a bigger group. Fried chicken was fresh, juicy and crispy. I ordered the spicy shrimp ramen which pretty tasty. Service was friendly and nice. One complaint is the music selection and speakers that they used: the music they played was really loud and the speakers seemed to be of bad quality so there was a lot of static in the sound. We requested for them to switch music channels (sounded like it was from a radio channel not Spotify) or turn it off completely and they helped turn the speaker volume down in our booth.

Yelp
I would echo what others have already proclaimed about this location of Hide-Chan: This spot offers a fantastic flavorful prices at reasonable prices in a comfortable ambience. The competition amongst ramen restaurants is fierce in NYC, but this place stands out. My friend and I met for dinner in the back room of the restaurant. She ordered a spicy garlic ramen with wavy noodles ($15), while I ordered the classic ramen with wavy noodles ($14). We were both highly satisfied with our respective orders. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and my broth was rich, salty, and filling, as I had hoped. The two pieces of pork were tender, while the mushrooms added great flavor and texture. For the location and quality, the prices can't be beat. This is a great spot for a casual social meal, especially since it's not too loud yet the space is darkly lit and comfortable.

Yelp
I have been craving for a really good Ramen for few weeks now. After a lot of research on Yelp , I found Hide-Chan Ramen, Westside. I am so glad that I tried their Ramen today. It was almost going to close when I called them to order 3 Spicy Deluxe Ramen. The lady was very kind and took my order. OMG.. What a great quantity and packaging. And the taste was heavenly. One of the best Ramen ever. It's made with Pork slices, half-boiled eggs , kikurage mushroom, corn, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, & cod roe. The egg & pork just melted in my mouth. Oh! The Spicy Oil Condiment was so yum. Umm umm umm...! It was a perfect dinner on a rainy night! A Ramen hunt trip to NYC was really worth it. This place is a must try! Sorry couldn't take a pic as it was a takeout Another Yelp find!!!

Yelp
Came here the other day for a quick dinner. Awesome spot. If you can make it before 7pm they have happy hour. Happy hour has some food at a discounted price (see picture attached) and then all their alcohol besides bottles of sake are 50% off. This makes Sapporo $3, other beers and wines $4 and cocktails $5. Sakes are a little all over the place at that price. My friend had the ramen and said it was delicious. I wasn't in a ramen mood so I got the Chicken and Avo don ($6) and the agedashi tofu ($5). The chicken avo don was a pretty big portion actually and had a lot of meat and avocado. It was had a pretty good flavor and the chicken was fried well. It wasn't really a teriyaki, like the menu said, it was closer to a katsu. That worked well cause that's actually what I preferred. The agedashi tofu was good but nothing to write home about. For $5, I wish there was another piece (there were only two large pieces) but not bad. Service was friendly, but it took a while for me to flag them down to get another drink unfortunately. The food and drinks came out quickly though when we ordered them. Would definitely come back here for another happy hour!

Yelp
Wooooooooah! This ramen spot caught my eye the moment we walked in. The atomsphere is welcoming, hip and overall really cool. The decor is 100% awesome. In the back, there is seating near the kitchen where you can see the chefs do their magic. I got the vegetable ramen. It was flavorful, colorful and tasty for something just filled with veggies. I also got to the takoyaki, which was AMAZEBALLS, LITERALLY! It melts on your tongue and you will drool for more. My friend got the spicy best seller ramen. It looked just as amazing, the perfect amount of spicy and flavor. The pork that came with it looked very soft and tender! Will come again one day to try something else! I love this place.

Great food and excellent customer service. Had the special for the lobster ramen and a sakke sampler. The steak tips were also a great addition.

Yelp
I am usually not a huge fan of ramen, but this restaurant has converted me into a ramen lover! I have been here twice and both times have been great. The service is quick and very efficient. Not only is their food great, but I highly recommend their happy hour! From 5:30-7 on weekdays, they have half priced drinks and most of their appetizers are on a happy hour price. We got edamame for $4 and I had an alcoholic drink for only $2.50! Honestly the best happy hour I have found in midtown yet. The shrimp ramen was super flavorful. You can get it with wavy or straight noodles and I personally loved the wavy noodles. It was not super spicy and overall a delicious and filling meal. If you're looking for good and affordable ramen in the city, check this place out!

Yelp
Wandered over here on a Saturday night looking for a late dinner in the area. Seating both inside and outside with a large enough menu to accommodate just about anyone. Between two people, ordered the Veggie Red Dragon Ramen ($16) and the Spicy Garlic Ramen ($16). When ordering two ramens, you get a free appetizer, so decided on the "Hawaiian Bun". The appetizer came out shortly - a regular soft bun with two slices of fried spam, and a couple slices of tangy pineapple. Surprisingly good and not greasy at all. Ramen comes out about 10 minutes later - a large bowl of pork, wavy noodles, mushrooms, scallions, and garlic sauce. Spice level is definitely high but not unbearable. The pork meat is pretty fatty, which took away from the good balance of noodles and spicy broth. Wish there were more noodles as well, since I finished most of it a little over half of the way through. There is a 3.5% credit card fee, which isn't too bad if not ordering all that much. Next time would order one of the ground pork options.

Yelp
Their happy hour is great! 4:30-6:30pm Mon-Fri. This is what we ordered: $9 pitcher of bear $6 steak bites $4 Curry $9.50 Sake carafe $4 Salmon don $2.50 Soju cocktail $3.00 Sake mojito The bill came out to be about $40 but I had had enough to eat and drink. Definitely coming back for their happy hour deals. I have yet to try their main menu or ramen.

Yelp
Came by for a meal during pandemic times. We outdoor dined in one of their "houses". As the night got colder, they brought in heaters. There was separators between each room. There was a window that was boarded up, but the door remained open for some air flow. The staff were super nice. The service was very good. It was a great experience. It was a great set up. The food/drinks: Deluxe Spicy Bowl - delicious and so good. great execution, deliciously rich broth and great noodle cook Gyoza - delicious and a good portion size as well Sake flight - a great way to try sake and see which kinds suit your taste buds TLDR: was happy to be able to try the west side location and can't wait to go there again. the ramen is one of my favorites in the city.

Yelp
Black garlic ramen and sake for the win. Don't ask questions. Just do it. Service was good, attentive. Cozy, clean space.

Yelp
We opted to sit at the bar because we didn't want to wait for a table inside or sit outside. Service was wonderful - everyone was so nice and accommodating. Food came out quickly and was pretty good. Great spot for a nice bowl of ramen.

Yelp
Go for happy hour (M-F) for affordable food and drinks! It's a very reliable neighborhood ramen shop. Eating here reminded me of when I had ramen in Japan - the decor had a familiar local friendly vibe and the service was great! Deluxe Ramen ($18) - One of their more popular ramen bowls. Really solid - the pork slices had a great balance of fatty-ness and meatiness. The tonkotsu (pork) broth was very rich and had a lot of weight too. Hot Sake ($10) - My friend and I shared the carafe. I'm not a big fan of sake, but we got it since we used the Pulsd deal. It was unfortunate they didn't let us substitute the sake for sake cocktails or chu-hai. If you're debating on sharing it between two people though, it'll be enough to get you both buzzed! I'll definitely recommend to a friend if they want to scratch a ramen itch!
