Where to Eat with Live Music in London | Eater London

"Located away from the high street view in Streatham, the name is truly fitting as many locals have passed by it for years without knowing what’s going on inside. Open for nearly a decade now, the venue showcases live jazz, soul and funk while also serving great food. Hideaway has an extremely varied monthly lineup, including the regular Monday night jam session and a Sunday comedy club, besides anything from David Bowie tribute evenings and Cuban salsa evenings to reggae nights. Laughter and dancing aside, the kitchen also serves up an array of simple meals such as pan-fried salmon, rainbow vegetable skewers and chargrilled jerk chicken." - Riaz Phillips

Great atmosphere. The Hideaway is tucked away by the river, it was busy when we visited (without a reservation) and the team were accommodating to fit us in. Food was delicious, with interesting options. I had a shakshuka which was tasty. I would recommend and return for a relaxed weekend brunch.

Very cosy place word. Have a branch or breakfast. Stuff is very friendly and professional and you have a very nice view of the river. Inside is warm and you have some blankets. Also if you want to go outside prices are okay considering London. Maybe cheap parking is large and you will not have any problem to find a space.

Fantastic place to eat and chat with friends next to the Thames. Beautiful view, nice food, great service. I had avocado on sourdough and salmon, delicious. Highly recommended for a brunch. Parking is available which is an extra.

This place was a really pleasant surprise. Small menu of well prepared and cooked food. Great for tapas or a traditional meal. Prices are mid level but the food is far better than the uninspiring competition in the area. Lovely atmosphere and decor inside but for me the tables outside, with a fantastic view of the thames, are the cherries on the cake. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Somewhat disappointed with the food but couldn’t knock the atmosphere, location and service. Waffles & bacon, a burger & chips, a black coffee and iced latte come out at just shy of £45.

Went for a family lunch/brunch. Had to ask the waitress/staff multiple times to be served and order drinks/food. It felt like “I can’t be bothered” attitude. Food was ok, felt like they took short cuts (waffles were clearly not fresh but potentially frozen and re-toasted) and when asked for a fried egg, apparently they don’t do fried eggs just poached and scrambled?? Disappointing all round, shame as it’s local and great location with parking!

Restaurant with parking in Kingston is almost impossible, but it does. The sunshine n good vibes n energetic young staffs, so good ! I always eat the same, the waffles with honey n fried chicken, with a coffee or juice.

Love this place, food good & staff so friendly. Celebrated my daughter’s graduation on 18/7. It had become “our cafe “ over her 3 years at Kingston Uni.
