A Pair of French Landmarks Reopen in Winnetka and Eight More Openings - Eater Chicago
"Neighborhood bar High Dive has reopened after a two-year pandemic closure, Block Club Chicago reports. During that time, owners George Simos and Alex Tsolakides turned the half of the space into Dante’s Tavern, a spin-off of their mini-chain Dante’s Pizza, which closed two locations during the pandemic. They did not respond to inquiries from Block Club about whether they would continue High Dive’s tradition of karaoke and open-mic nights. High Dive, 1938 W. Chicago Avenue, Open 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily." - Naomi Waxman
Great tater tots! Good beer selection. Very cool vibe - chill. And they have shuffle board! It's not free but also not crazy expensive.

Nice to see this old favorite open again! The bartender was great and there's an excellent variety of beer on tap! Also appreciate the USWNT match on one of the TV's :) The tots and pretzel bites are still very tasty, tho the cheese steak sandwich was a bit on the salty side for me.

These folks have my favorite chicken wings in the world. Double-fried, tossed in delightfully flavorful but light sauce, then finished on the grill. You owe it to yourself to try them.
They've also got a chill, low-key vibe, excellent taps, and stir a mean cocktail.

Super fun! We went for trivia night. It is a super fast version of Geeks Who Drink. The guy does it all on his own. They serve tater tots on the side of burgers and sandwiches, which is awesome! Friendly staff, fun vibe.

Visited with a friend for lunch and found it clean, cozy and inviting. The spicy chicken tacos were good and flavorful but was missing something to make it special, just felt...almost there. I was impressed by the very large stock of booze, I'm sure everyone's favorite drink was probably along that huge wall. Water for the tables were delivered in a decorative bottle versus a pitcher which was pretty cool. Overall not a bad place to hang.

Easily becoming one of my favorite places. Tuesdays, the wings are 35¢ and they are delicious. So delicious that one time I ate them, left, and then came back because I couldn't stop thinking about them. (Spicy is the way to go, lots of flavor). They also have a great brunch on Saturdays and Sundays with $5 Bloodys and Mimosas. Fun environment, group-friendly, and there's a pool table!

Living above this place for a year was a true honor. Everyone including the doorman was nothing but friendly and attentive. Good drink prices, and variety. They always had a can, draft, and shot special up on the wall. I came down a good amount of times for their weekly burger Thursday deal. And.... It's pretty dope 👌
