High Note Rooftop Bar - Review - Midtown - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"High Note is a rooftop bar and restaurant that connects Midtown's Moxy and AC Hotel. And while there’s no skyline views, this rooftop courtyard and pool stays packed with staycationers (they offer pool day passes) and vacationers alike, so we like to occasionally pop up here to absorb the carefree energy and resort vibes with a tropical drink. The Peach Queen is our cocktail of choice because it’s citrusy and refreshing and perfect for sipping beneath the string lights on the patio. And a full menu (get the perfectly fried jalapeño hush puppies with a sweet honey drizzle) makes it easy to camp out at this rooftop all day or night. photo credit: Courtesy of High Note" - Juli Horsford

The Best Hotel Bars for Cocktails in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Located on the roof of the AC Midtown and the Moxy hotels, High Note does not take itself too seriously, with drink names like Patio Pounder and Zoomed In and Zoned Out. But that doesn’t mean the cocktails here aren’t serious, while still keeping drinks fun with unexpected flavors." - Eater Staff

This place is just for good looks. The food TERRIBLE. Drinks TERRIBLE. The mojito I ordered was just a sparkling lime drink. Caesar salad wrap has no flavor. Shrimp tacos had nice flavor but super skimpy. Like WHERE IS THE SHRIMP. Carne asada tacos was basically jerky. And the shrimp quesadilla was flavorless. And service was extra slow. Went on a Thursday and they only had one waiter. Idk what that bartender thought he was doing either. You really only come here for vibes.

Could’ve hit the high note… but fell flat. The ambiance is promising, but unfortunately the experience left us woozy for the wrong reasons. We found a fingernail on our table not exactly the garnish we were looking for. Multiple areas of the bar were visibly unclean despite it not being busy at all, which is disappointing given how much potential the space has. The service was fine when it happened, but after our food was dropped off no one checked on us again. The staff seemed disengaged even though the place wasn’t crowded. Overall, cleanliness and attentiveness really need improvement to live up to the beautiful setting. High Note, please tune it up.

Second time visiting and once again, a disappointment. The service was terrible, and about 75% of the menu was unavailable. The bartender mentioned they haven’t served frozen drinks in two years yet they’re still listed. The parking is a total scam I was there for just 12 minutes and got charged $20, even though the sign clearly states $5 to park . Don’t waste your time or money here. It’ll cost you $20 just for giving them the privilege to waste your time.

Classic terrible Atlanta restaurant trying to do the most but clearly doesn't care at all about customer experience. Came here with a group of 4 on a weekend afternoon, the entire place was very disheveled despite there being maybe 8 people sat at the bar, no one else sitting at tables, and at least 4 bartenders/servers. Our server was nice, but the place is run very poorly. Like so many other reviews, service was extremely slow and the kitchen and bar were out of almost everything we asked for. Our server didn't even know what they were out of, so it was only 5-10 minutes after we ordered that he came back and told us they were out of the thing we ordered. The food took ages to come out -- again, there were maybe like 8 other people around us, and clearly there was plenty of staff. The food was actually very good, too, when it finally came out, and reasonably priced, so they get credit for that. Our server disappeared for like 45 straight minutes at one point, leaving us to sit around and wait for our check because none of the 3 other bartenders bothered to check on us either. We finally flagged someone down and asked for our check, and he immediately forgot and started to pull checks for people at the bar, but not us (sitting at a table). It wasn't for another 10 minutes till our server finally showed up that we asked for our check again and finally got it. I believe we were overcharged as well, since two $7 salads (we specified that we wanted the $7 one), a $12 appetizer, and a vodka lemonade definitely doesn't cost $50. Truthfully we would likely have spent way more than $50 if the place was functioning properly, had their listed menu items available, and made us want to stick around for another drink (or if our server was even present to ask if anyone wanted another drink). But by the time we finally got our check we were all running late for the rest of our day, I just wanted to leave that place and forget about it so it wasn't worth arguing about and waiting probably another 15 minutes for the correct check. Definitely will not be returning, and will be actively warning people to stay away from this place. There's so many other better places to get a drink in Midtown.

A perfect blend of luxury and convenience, this establishment offered a stunning view and a bar with exquisite drinks, all in a clean and welcoming environment. The bartender was friendly and attentive, making for a truly enjoyable experience. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and the public restrooms were modern and clean. The staff was professional and helpful, ensuring a wonderful time for all visitors.

The atmosphere was awesome, and the music was enjoyable, but the food was just okay. Our waitress was good, along with the drinks.

BEWARE!!! The service at High Note is absolutely unacceptable. We had a reservation for 3PM and were completely ignored upon arrival, no greeting, no direction. After standing around awkwardly, someone finally told us to "sit anywhere." From there, it only got worse. It took 20 minutes just to get a menu, and even after 30 more minutes, still no food…not even water. At 3:40, I asked to speak with a manager. He didn’t bother coming to our table until 3:55, and even then, he didn’t offer a single apology until I pointed out how rude that was. They’re clearly understaffed, only one server for the entire rooftop, which would be understandable if the management showed even a shred of accountability. But they didn’t. To top it off, they don’t validate parking, and apparently neither does the hotel, so we paid just to stand around for an hour with no food, no drinks, no service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. The service is beyond terrible and this place should seriously reconsider how it operates. If I could give ZERO starts I would!

I visited tonight along with my children, celebrating my daughter 22nd birthday. Had a generally decent experience, though there were a few things that left me with mixed feelings. My boyfriend and his daughter weren’t initially allowed to enter because it was after 10:30 PM. This was disappointing and a bit frustrating, especially since we weren’t aware of any specific cut-off time posted or communicated in advance. Thankfully, the situation was eventually resolved, but it definitely put a damper on the beginning of our visit. As for the food, it was okay — not extraordinary, but enjoyable enough. The menu had a decent variety, and everything we ordered was prepared well, just nothing that particularly stood out or wowed us. Customer service was exceptional except for the tall gent with braids, he definitely ruffled some feathers and did apologize, but that was a bit too late. That one situation changed my mind quickly about this establishment. The other staff was polite and professional. We didn’t feel rushed, which was nice, but there wasn’t much in the way of personal engagement either. Despite the hiccup at the start, the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant were pleasant. It’s a nice spot to relax and have a meal if you’re looking for a casual experience and aren’t expecting anything over-the-top. Would I come back? Likely not. It wasn’t a bad experience, just not a particularly memorable one either.
