Best Rooftop Bars in the Triangle | Eater Carolinas

"Shaken or stirred? Dry or dirty? Try the bottled martini service and become the bartender for the table, deciding what the optimal combo of olive juice to liquor makes for a stellar drink. The Moment of Grace cocktail, with lavender prosecco limoncello and vodka, is also a favorite option, as is the crab dip for a little snack while people watching from the roof." - Elliott Harrell

I’m so happy I decided to have my birthday dinner at high rail because it was such an unforgettable night ! Not only was the table set up beautiful. The food was amazing. Our hostess Venessa made it so special she is so sweet, loving and beautiful!! Grateful!

Google
Elevated bar food but not as tasty as I’d hoped. Cool vibes. Not my favorite place but I’d go again if something was being held there. The appetizer shrimp were flavorful. Everything else I saw other people order looked good but not GREAT! No one was raving about their dishes. Our waiter, Remy, was cool and patient. He checked on us at all of the right times!

I visited HRR with a few girlfriends this past weekend. They are located on the 7th floor inside the Hyatt. You get there by private elevator just beyond the lobby. Reservations are recommended and valet is available as well as a public parking deck behind Big Daddy's and street parking. We were sat in the outside patio and had Parker as our server. Besides it being extremely humid outside, the whole experience was fantastic. The food was delicious and the drinks were as well. Parker was working double time and helping so many tables that we sometimes had to wonder where he was. He tried his absolute best with what he had. The scenic view once night fell was picturesque. I would revisit soon to try their cheese tortellini since it was not available when we went.

The food was so delicious! Very flavorful. As soon as we took a bite we knew this chef was not your typical chef. From starters to entree & dessert…it exceeded our expectations! The rooftop scene and ambiance was great. The chef took a few minutes to speak to us about the plates we selected. He has taken the menu to another level. I highly suggest to come check it out. Not just for the drinks, but for the savory food.

A disappointing experience. We went there on a Friday night for our date. Drinks seemed like not to have alcohol, it was that bad. We had “the telegraph” and “El vato loco” as drinks and had the seared tuna from the shareables. Tuna was okay but lacked balance and couldn’t even taste the wasabi. View was good but didn’t have any happening vibe. Would not recommend this.

Google
Limited menu but, the fried chicken sandwich was one of the best I've had and the cocktails...amazing. Definitely a good pre-game spot before heading further downtown. I wish there was more to do around here but it's still coming around. Good spot.

Per my policy I can't give this more than 1-star. Horrible service. Horrible place. Impressive views usually means subpar restaurant and this was no exception. 2-Stars ⭐⭐ for this dining experience. They need more bartenders because it took a good 20 minutes to get our drink orders. Ironic that their main allure is their cocktails 🤭 The cocktail I wanted wasn't available (Moment of Grace), and my second choice (High Rail Air Mail) wasn't mixed very well- the middle tasted different than the first half. The cheese on the charcuterie board wasn't very good. The crab dip was soupy 🧐 My husband enjoyed his hanger steak but the fries were overcooked. Overall blah. I wouldn't go again. Our server was nice, albeit overstretched with many tables. Also, most other restaurants tell you about parking when you make a reservation on OpenTable. This one didn't say where parking was available - would've been helpful to know there was valet! AND the High Rail sign is on the corner of the building, but you have to enter through the hotel lobby to get to the 7th floor restaurant. It shouldn't be a secret!!! Especially to first time visitors who are new to the area. 😤 Waste of a night out. #restaurant #raleigh #datenight

Really cool spot. You walk through the hotel and there is an elevator that takes you up to the bar. We just got the chicken and waffles appetizer and drinks but everything was amazing. Lots of outdoor seating.

Yelp
Attended for 2025 Triangle's Restaurant Week, although our sever knew nothing about a prix fix menu dedicated for this. Was served an ice cold glass of water that tasted a bit strange in my opinion. ( I have a whole home filtration system installed home) I guess all water this isn't from my house or a bottle tastes as such. The ambiance is beautiful. The menu is simple. I ordered a pizza. It tastes good, nice presentation. The restroom is small, only 2 stalls. There's also an unusual smell in this restaurant, I can't place my nose on it. It was a decent experience, but I have no plans on returning Unika B. & Co.

Yelp
This was my first experience at High Rail and I absolutely enjoyed it. My friends and I had our quarterly ladies dinner here. The service was prompt and our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu. We requested a list of the mocktails being that none of us were drinking alcoholic beverages and to our excitement, they had a menu for those drinks. The House Spritz was very refreshing for a hot day. I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was jumbo and prepared perfectly. My friends had the Citrus and Roasted Beet Salad with steak. They both cleared their plates. We ate outdoors in the shade. The breeze and view was especially nice as the sun set. The lighting in the restaurant is very elegant. I'll be returning.

Yelp
It has taken a while to come to terms with the fact that this actually happened... considering the high expectations I've had with the amazing things I have heard about High Rail since the opening. I have no words aside from expressing my extreme disappointment with managerial staff at High Rail. The Main Male Manager (tall brown hair hard to make out details stood very close to me as he pushed), caused me to have a panic attack to which I went to the elevator to where he cornered me in the elevator where I'm already on the floor I begged him not to get in the elevator with me, he scoffed and still did before laughing and getting off the elevator and leaving me there. It wasn't until the wife of a very kind couple picked me up off the floor and escorted me to the front that I was able to get out. A female staff member came out and spoke with me. She said to me that she would speak with someone. Proceed with caution.

Yelp
High Rail is a rooftop bar located in Seaboard Station. We dined in here for Mother's Day and had a good experience. My mom and I both started off with the mimosa flight for $20 because one mimosa was $13...so that was a no brainer and we split the crab dip. For our meals we all ordered from the specials menu. It was the chicken and waffles for me and the crab cake benedict for my husband and mom. I also tried the 24 carrot gold cocktail. We liked the food and drinks. I could see this spot being slow at capacity luckily it was not too busy when we visited.

Yelp
I took my social group of 10 folks here for cocktails and food. Service was prompt and courteous. The food was great. I had the Cobb salad with shrimp and the shrimp tacos. Both were tasty. I topped it off with their Black Revolver cocktail! Fabulous! The 7th floor views at sunset were pretty!

Yelp
Fun rooftop for cocktails! We went on a Friday evening, it was very busy. We had a reservation but the inside was so loud so we chose to just grab a drink on the patio. Cocktails were 10/10!

Yelp
I dined at High Rail on Sunday evening. The restaurant is nice and the views on the rooftop are even better. It did not seem like a busy night at all. Our waiter quickly came over after being seated and seemed pleasant and welcoming. I enjoyed shareable Italian flatbread pizza. The cocktails were also very good. A moment of grace and French75 was delicious and well balanced with alcohol. I had the hanger steak and that was extremely flavorful. Almost too much seasoning for my palate. The fries that came with my steak weren't fresh. All of my food except for the pizza shareable was room temperature and the fries were cold and not fresh. I expressed this to the waiter about the fries. My waiter acknowledged this and offered to get me more but I declined (respectfully). It is surprising to fail at fries. Very easy to get fries right. I feel there should've been some deduction for the fries that I didn't get to enjoy and asked to remove from the table. I want to add that the brownie served with ice cream is delicious but the brownie was very cold. The waiter implied the brownie came out of the oven fresh. No warmth on the dish at all. The waiter seemed unaware to say the brownie was cooked fresh. It tasted as if it came straight out the freezer along with the ice cream. I do recommend High Rail as a new hotspot for cocktails - the cocktails were solid. I look forward to coming back even if it's just for cocktails, pesto pasta, or a burger. The individual I dined with loved the pesto pasta with added chicken and shrimp.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere here. Ordered a drink at the bar, but the bartender forgot about us and ended up giving it to us on the house. Definitely more of a drink spot than a restaurant.

Yelp
We were staying at the Hyatt and looking for a drink to end the night. Turns out High Rail had just opened a few days earlier. The decor was very pretty and the vibes were great. They were still experiencing some growing pains and service at the bar was pretty slow but I'm sure that things will get better as time goes on.

Yelp
The ambiance was moody with sexy dark lighting. The decor was perfectly minimal and modern with a splash of art deco. It's nice that there's an elevator dedicated specifically for the restaurant. Our server JJ was great and immediately set us up with water and cocktails. The menu is fairly limited so the expectation is that every dish will be on point. We ordered the chix ka wraps which were okay but the chicken could use some seasoning and maybe a more sturdy lettuce like romaine versus butter lettuce to make it easier to enjoy. The bacon cheeseburger was well seasoned although slightly overcooked. The grilled chicken thigh was a very small portion of chicken and seemed to be about the size of half a thigh which was overcooked. The saving grace for the chicken thighs were the accompanying yogurt, tomato, olives and naan. This place is new so I'm sure they're working out some kinks but I would definitely go back and try other dishes.

Yelp
Like the outdoor atmosphere and view; the food was really good but the service was ABYSMAL. After 10 minutes of waiting for water, a waitress announced that she would be with us in a minute. 10 minutes later I went to the bar to order drinks as the waitress had not returned. The host was apologetic and comped the drinks, took our food order and brought the order himself. After that waited another 10-15 minutes after the busboy had cleared the table with absolutely no action. Had to flag down a different waiter who had not been serving us to ask for the check. So wanted to love this place. And the food was great but being essentially ignored for 2 hours is not what you want in an evening out.

Yelp
The food was salty although not too bad. The drinks were strong, which is a plus. The ambiance was spectacular. The service was in point as well. The food is the reason for the lower rating. Everything else was great.

Yelp
My review was deleted, probably by Jeremy who had an extreme attitude problem the night we were in there. The service was remarkably slow. Took 40 minutes to get my first drink and nearly 30 to get the second. My food was so bland had no flavor "buttermilk dressing made with probably actual buttermilk because it was so disgusting. This is a real review and you have no right to delete it. And I will keep posting again and again if you try again

Yelp
beautiful roof top bar... awful service. waited 40 minutes .. still no drinks..ordered appetizer.. came before drinks. food was good. Service awful. what a shame for such a beautiful place.

Yelp
New rooftop bar in Raleigh above seaboard station, very trendy, vibey, a great place to take out of towners! The martini bottle service was so fun to do. It's just a deconstructed martini, you pour as much liquor (vodka or gin you want) and as much olive juice you want! We also got the espresso martini, and it was perfect with Mr. Black! Def recommend

Yelp
What a disappointment.Made resv weeks in advance. Arrived right on time. Seated behind the bar, away from view. Then told our waiter had just arrived to work but would be with us soon (?!?} Empty tables at windows that had a view. When we asked to move to table with view we were told those tables were "reserved... ' But we had reservations.escalated to speak with the manager but told you can request the view in the notes section of the app (nice to know now... ) A very disappointing experience overall. We left out of frustration and won't be back.

Yelp
Nice location, great views. The service is abysmal and the drinks are sub-par and overpriced. Cocktails had little flavor, at $15 plus I expected a lot more quality from the bar. Also, it was an extremely long wait for drinks to arrive. On opening night just like any other establishment you expect some bugs to work out, but also the first few weeks of an opening are typically the highest level of service so it was surprising to experience such a poor level of quality. The crab dip was fantastic once it actually arrived at the table, but it had very little bread with it and there was a $4 charge for more bread...really?
