High Tide

An excellent place to enjoy the fresh air with the views of the NYC skyline. Conveniently located at the DUMBO ferry terminal you can enjoy a cocktail or food while you wait. Drinks were solid with a full bar. No good this time but the menu looked pleasing. Service was nice. Prices were pretty upscale. Overall location is great.

The service was terrible — at times, the waiter was even rude. The food was not bad, and the atmosphere was actually quite nice. Overall, the experience was disappointing due to the poor service.

So, this is for the owner; arrived shortly after 10pm on Friday, 6/28/25 at 10:05pm and the bar tender (with a pony tail and looked upset about something) gave us our drinks after taking her sweet time. Long story short, the view sells this place because the service is terrible. In fact, karma works in mysterious ways because at 10:45pm someone dined and dashed while on the staff’s watch (maybe too busy talking with the clients at the bar instead of attending to customer needs). Drink was okay but never would expect to have terrible service at a venue with an exceptional view. Had to flag another person to pay my bill before my wife and I left.

We had a great time at High Tide! The oysters and shrimp cocktail were super fresh and paired perfectly with a cold Sunday draft beer and a watermelon mint limonata. Great views, chill vibes, and our server Justin R. was kind and attentive. Highly recommend.

Was enjoying a drink at the bar and overheard a bartender tell a guest who was paying, that we live in America and over here we tip (because they left a $0 tip) As he walked away rudely and slammed the credit card reader machine down at the bar. I do understand the importance of tipping and his frustration on not receiving a tip, but shouldn’t have been done in front of guests.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. I had a confirmed reservation and arrived at the restaurant only to find it completely closed — entrance roped off, bar packed up, and no sign of anyone around. What’s worse, I received no call, email, or message to let me know the restaurant wouldn’t be open. It’s unacceptable to leave customers in the dark, especially when they’ve made plans and taken the time to show up. A simple courtesy notification would have gone a long way. This lack of communication and professionalism is enough to make me think twice about ever trying again.

We were excited for High Tide to open again this year, our fav place to have lunch in the summer time. This year, we have been twice and the service has been TERRIBLE, food order (very minimal items) took 45 mins with no apologies or recognition from staff. Food quality is poor, soggy and slimy lettuce, cold French fries and stinky lobster meat. A small glass of low tier wine is $17... our bill was $176 for a crap meal, NOT coming back. Sad to lose this place as one of our go-to spots.

Gorgeous location. Came mainly for the oysters. The drinks are very overpriced and not worth the cost. The oysters were delicious.

The views are amazing.... breathtaking! We stumbled along this bar along the water. We were walking back home but it's such a great view, great chill spot, great people. Our bartender was great and friendly, gave us all waters as soon as we sat at the bar, which I appreciate , he's from NJ (I would write the town but for safety reasons I will exclude). The staff and other customers were all so friendly and welcoming. Then to top it off there were fireworks! We didn't get to eat but I would def go back for drinks and food next time. Cheers!

The atmosphere, decor and view are stunning. High Tide provides such a unique beachy vibe that's hard to find in the city too! The staff is certainly friendly, however, service is usually (I've been 6-7 times) pretty slow and unfortunately there is not nearly enough shaded seating (wish there were umbrellas over the tables that are not covered by the tent). However, if you have a bit of time, get a table in the shade and it isn't packed- GO! You won't regret it! I wish there was a menu online so I could name the cocktails I have had. While they were tasty, I think the cocktail menu could be a bit broader with drinks that fit the tiki bar theme a bit more, and additionally add more traditional cocktails. Food wise, I have only had the fries (I believe they may have been truffle or potentially seasoned fries) and they were excellent- crispy, right amount of salt and seasoning, just so good.

This place should be packed on a nice night. Instead it's half empty. The music is bad. The staff is inexperienced and disorganized. Hire 1 experienced bartender and curate better music with a point of view. Encourage your staff to not argue with each other in front of customers. The tall young lady with right arm tattoo ignored me and spent a lot of time talking to 1 customer. Meh. $30 for 2 glasses of wine with bad service and great views.

It's a skip for me. The view is not worth how expensive everything is and the quality of the food and drinks do not align with the price. It's clearly a tourist trap and I'm only writing a review in hopes that someone from out of town will see this and it will deter them from going so they could spend $100 somewhere worthy of the money.

Came here with my husband after a small brief of rain and we asked for a napkin or a towel to one of the bartenders and she refused. So after sitting there in the humidity, none of the bartenders x3 or the manager asked if we wanted any drinks. 0 stars and poor customer service. The manager should spend less time flirting with old men and actually hire caring workers. Will not return and go at your own risk.
